The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Aha!" It really wasn't funny! The realization came like a javelin through the heart, amid subtle squees as Kasumi held his hand. "Sorry!" No, he was not smirking. He totally hadn't expected that shout, nor had he predicted it'd come out whether he liked it or not. He definitely hadn't planned to draw her ire, rather than have her turn it on Slate, or any of the other party guests, no! Because that would be silly... and then he couldn't have really honest-to-god smirked when her shouting vibe got spent, and she quickly took interest in Koga rather than beating him senseless.
>>"She seems nice a little bit out of place." Kasumi stated.
Still smirking, Shin turned to Kasumi. Out of place. Yeah, right. He wasn't sure if there was any other place better suited to dealing with Kokoro. "Well, it seems like she's found a dance partner, at the very least. Speaking of which..." Shin looked towards the dance floor. The bride was out dancing with someone already, and he spotted Twyla dancing with someone in-between breaks in the crowd. Shin took a step towards the floor, leading Kasumi by the hand. "Shall we?" He smiled.

Kasumi looks up at Shin soon she smiles and nods walking with him "I will love to." She speaks in a sweet caring voice. Soon Kasumi rests her hands on Shins shoulders as she looks up at him and smiles. She can not help but to smile around the man that she loves so much. She met one of his family it makes her wounder what is the rest like?
Yet she will not worry about it right now. This is time for her and Shin. Kasumi smiles even more It makes her remember of the V-day ball where they met again. The first dance everything wow how you can keep things like that close to your heart. Now she is with him the first person outside of her family that she has really loved with all of her heart. Someone that brings out the best in her.
Kasumi can not see any down falls to being with Shin. She knows that something like this will last forever. Like her mom and dad. Kasumi knows in her heart that he is the one for her she is gratefuller every day that she met Shin. She never knew that she could be so happy around someone well she was wrong.
Dominic was impressed or confused with what she said. She however found it weird, she answered the question. Nothing more nothing less. She was stil holding her drink and it tasted, bubbly. She took another sip and pondered. Maybe she was a bit stranger then normal people. Never the less there wasn't much time to think about it because somebody starled her. She eeped and almost dropped her glass because of it. She could keep hold of it just by a inch though. Some of the champagne dropped on the floor though.
She turned her head and it was her big brother, Shawn. and he brought a female friend over. She looked pretty and was obviously dressed way better then her. She looked and her shoes and at her own bare feet. Shoes where to uncomfortable for her though. "Hello." She replied to both of them. Her name was jewel. If shawn thrusted her it would be fine though. She reached out her hand and said. "Nice to meet you." a bit akward. She was never good at the introducing thing. However everybody was very nice here even though she knew that some people didn't want much to do with her or avoided her. She didn't feel any remorse for that because not everybody could like her.

Sam shifted his current grin to a smugger one as he lifted an eyebrow, ”What did you do to said cat? And do I need to keep a better eye on Cammie when you’re around?” Sam asked curiously as he recalled a few times when his cat had crossed Alex’s back. From what he could recall she never had a problem or showed any indication of a species feud between the two and usually Cammie made it clear whom she didn’t like. ”My overall opinion of you might have to change.” said Sam his tone now far more teasing than it was before.
”You looked fine to me holding that knife thought I might have a biased opinion when I saw you with it.” hand grasped tightly around hers and her waist inches from his he laughed slightly as he leaned placing his forehead against hers as he spoke again, ”You look beautiful!” if she didn’t tire of hearing it then he wouldn’t tire of saying it.
As he was reading to spin her again his forehead left hers and he took a step back pivoting his hips and releasing one hand from her waist to motion they were going for a spin. Noticing Ghost right behind Alex and tapping her on the shoulder Sam welcomed Ghost with a happy smile as she requested to borrow him. Looking to Alex and raising his eyebrows Sam gave her a mock lower lip quiver and then leaned in to kiss her when she had agreed to let Ghost steal him away. ”Don’t wander to far, I plan on getting you back out here.”
Looking to Ghost and offering his hand face up Sam bowed and then looked up to Ghost in her wedding dress, "I hope you don't mind me leading?”

Twyla laughed at Gawain's response to the comment about clubbing but didn't say anything in reply. She was suddenly nervous and most of her attention was focused on figuring out how exactly it was that she was supposed to dance to this kind of music...with a boy. Her confusion mounted when an arm was snaked around her and she was suddenly very close to said boy. Slowly and hesitantly Twyla's free hand crept from it's awkward position smashed to her side and up Gawain's chest to rest very lightly on his shoulder.
Twyla's experience in the couple's dancing department was very very very limited. Her only experience of dancing with the opposite sex was secluded to middle school and high school dances where boys she barely knew from study hall awkwardly tried to feel her up to country love songs and all the other corny stereotypical slow songs played at school dances. Needless to say these situations were not something Twyla was very fond of and every time one of her friends would say: 'Twyla, I think he's coming over here to talk to you!' her stomach would sink into the floor and she would look for fastest was out of the gym. Through the years the girl had learned to run to the bathroom every time the DJ announced a dance for couples.
Twyla tried to hide her lack of experience by answering his question with: "Oh, I can dance. I'm a dancing fiend." She smiled at her own lame comment that was said with an overconfidence in the tone that she didn't feel at all.
Luckily, her partner seemed to be starting out slow which was perfect for a girl who was trying particularly hard not to stare at her feet--his feet, actually, her feet weren't doing her much good. Not much good at all...
Alexandra held back a smile. Instead she pouted in Sam’s direction. “What I did is my little dirty secret Sam and…” She paused, tilting her head to the side, smirking slightly. “… please remember that the keywords are ‘when I was five’.” Resisting the temptation to stick her tongue out at him, Alexandra chose instead to only wink.
”You looked fine to me holding that knife thought I might have a biased opinion when I saw you with it. You look beautiful!”
An eyebrow arched slightly before Sam moved closer to her. “I look fine holding a knife in hand?” Alexandra chuckled for a few moments. “You, my dear… you have some strange tastes in women.” Alexandra joked while spying what move Sam was planning next.
As Sam stepped away and prepared to spin her again, a light tap on the shoulder distracted her from the dance and Sam and anything else.
She swore to God that if that was Dean she’d take the damn knife and-
Alexandra turned around.
Oh, it was Ghost.
The neutral face she had put on when she turned around brightened up at seeing that she didn’t have to kill anyone right there and then.
"Could I borrow Sam for a bit? Please?"
Alexandra chuckled slightly at the ‘please’. Was it just her opinion or Ghost was somehow embarrassed when asking this? “Sure. All yours.” she replied smiling. Her hand slipped away from Sam’s as he leaned in to kiss her.
”Don’t wander to far, I plan on getting you back out here.”
“I’ll be around.” Alexandra said before departing. She didn’t have any direction in mind just yet, and, she only stopped for a brief moment to pick up a glass of champagne.
Gawain chuckled at the comment. Yup, Bubblegum is the same, still and always. She seemed to be having trouble with this kind of dancing. More than he expected, actually. Gawain was glad. Glad because a) this meant he was not that bad at all, and b) it gave him an excuse to steady her with his palm between her shoulder blades.
"I hear you were on the Dance Team" he smirked as she looked down at her feet, more than a little bit lost, and bubblegum pink in the cheeks. Gawain sighed. "C'mon, grasshopper, look at me."
It might have sounded like mocking, but it wasn't. Green looked good on her. Of course in Gawain's opinion any color would look good on her. Tilting his head to see her face, he smiled.
"Relax. 'tis not all that dif'rent from other kinds of dancin'. Jus' quit starin' at your feet and move."
Grinning at her, he added "... or at least I think that's what we're supposed to do. Hey I'm not a ballroom dancer either."

The hand that had been part of the arm around her waist moved up to a new spot between her shoulder blades. This only made Twyla blush, luckily it was easy to blame on her feet that were stumbling while trying to find their pattern. It was weird dancing with someone else, dancing with a boy someone else was even weirder–even if technically this boy was also a girl part-time (how that worked Twyla still didn’t know). Twyla Ashby, unlike all three of her sisters, was awkward around the opposite sex and she always had been. She had no bank of knowledge to draw from for this particular situation and that made her nervous and more than a bit hyper-aware. Hyper-aware to the fact that his hands were warm and that his shirt smelled nice–hence the blush, considering that those were things she wasn’t supposed to notice. This was Maya for heavens sake! Girl-from-the-park-Maya just happened to look like a boy today...a boy with warm hands who smelled nice.
“Dance Team and this, are not the same thing at all.” A bit of frustration crept into her voice as she tripped over her right foot for the third time. A sigh was heard from above and the command was given to look up and it was coupled with ‘grasshopper’. Ugh, cure the green. There had to be something else in her closet–why couldn’t she find it?
The plan had been to ignore the comment and her embarrassment at her outfit when Gawain’s face suddenly came into view. He was smiling. A moment later Twyla’s sandaled feet caught on to what the rest of her body was doing. “I’d say we need to take classes, but I think I’ve got it now.” Without looking at her feet the girl in green managed to keep her feet from tripping over one another–her steps were hesitant but she was getting the hang of the dance.
Wait, did he just make her blush? Suh-weet. Blushing is cute. And innocent. Gawain suspected as much, given her shyness. He could tell she was not the kind that dances with dozens of guys every night. Then again, it had been a while since he'd danced with a girl like this. Um. Politely. Quite a while. Yeah, blushing was cute. One point to the noble knight.
>>“Dance Team and this, are not the same thing at all.”
"Yea, but ya've got rhythm, that's the main thing" he chuckled, glad that she finally found her feet. He didn't move his hand though. Not yet.
>>“I’d say we need to take classes, but I think I’ve got it now.”
"Yeah ya have." he agreed with a lopsided grin "Hang on now."
And with that, he spun around with her, in the middle of the waltz - or whatever it was that they'd been dancing - holding her close in case she tripped. Then spun around again. Let's see how ya like that.

A step left, a step right. Shin's hands rested on Kasumi's hips, her's on his shoulders.
"You look beautiful today," Shin added helpfully, as he navigated this set of dancers through the crowded dance floor, towards the center. His eyes focused briefly on feet, then rose to meet her eyes. "Though, I guess I could say that about every day." He added with a half-moon smile. Because now that they were free of his cousin and the others at the food tables, he could be more charming, right? And really, he could. Had he said she looked great earlier? It bore repeating. Shin spun her, and just admired with a smile that spelled out that silly thought.
Lookit my gal. Spinning. And then, she stopped her spinning. Shin caught her in a dip. He let her hang there a minute, just smiling. "So, how are you today?" He added jokingly. Aside from horizontal.

Kasumi following Shin she blushes more as she smiles "Thank you so much. You look so dashing yourself." She could not help but to smile as she dances with him. Her eyes looking into his. Soon Kasumi is spun and then dipped. Looking up at him with her eyes.
Soon she is back up as she wraps her arms around his neck resting her cheek on his shoulder. Soon Kasumi speaks in a low happy voice "I am very happy today. How about you Shin?" Kasumi always wanted to know how Shin was feeling. She wants to make him happy no matter what. He makes her so happy. Kasumi hopes that she is doing the same thing for him. Kasumi could not help but to blush a little bit form eveything that is going on around them.

Confidence was slowly starting to creep into the sandaled feet and then–"Hang on now." and suddenly Twyla and her partner were spinning. She almost fell over her feet but managed, mostly by clutching her partner’s shirt, to keep herself upright. When the second round came Twyla was a bit more prepared and she allowed herself to be spun. It was definitely better the second time and Twyla giggled as her skirt spun out behind her.
When they settled back into the pattern of the dance she looked up at Gawain, smiled, and said in a mock serious tone: “I don’t think teenage boys should be allowed to lead because they pull stunts like that.” Twyla meant the spin. Keeping up the tone and adding some pretend anger to go with the mock serious she continued. “What if I had tripped in my heels, fallen, and broken my neck? ‘Hang on now.’ is not enough of a warning when things could end like that.” She ruined the effect by letting a laugh creep into her voice with the last bit and looking at her feet, which were wearing very flat sandals.
In all truth Twyla was just kidding, she really didn’t care about the spins–she thought they were fun, at least the second one was.
>>“I don’t think teenage boys should be allowed to lead because they pull stunts like that. What if I had tripped in my heels, fallen, and broken my neck? ‘Hang on now.’ is not enough of a warning when things could end like that.”
Gawain's face took on a mock-serious expression to match hers. Mock-hurt too. It was hard, considering Bubblegum got definitely closer to him due to her lack of balance at the moment, and that situation was crying out for a charming grin. Still, he managed to keep his face straight.
"First." he spun her around, slower this time to keep her from tripping, and watching out for other dancers around them "I ain't a teenage boy, thank ya very much."
At least not to someone who's less than a year older than me.
"Second." spin again "Ya're not wearin' heels, darlin'."
He couldn't blame her for that, Maya hated heels with a passion.
"Last, but not least" he finally grinned "Hang on now."
And with that, he dipped her. It worked quite well, for a first attempt. The song ended, just when he pulled her back up. "Thank you for the dance, fair lady."
He glanced around for a clock. He promised a dance to the wolf girl, but after that... there might be some time left for more spin-the-Bubblegum before Maya had to take the stage.
Emerald had been watching the entire scene of the wedding from her comfortable spot at the table. Actually, it wasn’t really that comfortable, she was only content in her spot because she had plenty of food to eat. Her fast metabolism was breaking down the food she was eating rather quickly, helping her build up enough excess energy in order to dance with her new buddy Gawain. Emerald was a bit busy eating and sort of forgot about her tablemate being there. She was far too focused on food as well as the world around her. She observed several people but found it kind of cute the way Gawain was acting around Twyla, it didn’t take a psychic to guess what was going on there, even if Twyla had no idea. The wolf girl spent enough time people-watching in her wolven form to know of the telltale signs of a crush and quite frankly, she thought Gawain exhibited all of them.
Of course this wasn’t the only reason why Emerald occasionally had her focus on the two. Well, she also wanted to see what the hell she was getting into when Gawain danced with her. This way she would be ready before hand and could show her skills in a way that wasn’t too overkill. The Last thing Emerald wanted was for the X-Men to realize that one of their more intimidating members had a soft spot for dancing.

Gawain matched her fake serious tone with a fake hurt and solemn expression. For a second Twyla almost felt bad and then she remembered that it was all just a joke, nothing to worry about. It seemed like he was intent on spinning her again, but this time Twyla was prepared for it and she managed to keep moving fluidly as she listened to his response. “Oh, then what’s the proper term for it, chopped liver?” She raised an eyebrow and waited to be enlightened.
He noticed the shoes. Oh well, that was inevitable. “But if I had been wearing heels, I could have tripped and all that other stuff could have happened.” The serious facade was fading fast as Twyla was starting to laugh at her own pathetic argument.
‘Hang on now.’ There it was again, only this time there was no spinning involved. Suddenly her head was parallel with the floor and she was a bit light headed. He pulled her up from the dip and she barely noted that the music ended. She was still a bit dizzy and a bit flustered when she said: “Anytime, good sir.” And that was the truth, so long as they didn’t try anything more complicated than whatever it was that they’d been doing–she didn’t think she’d survive a tango or swing dancing with a partner who was so good at surprising her with his moves...not that it wouldn't be fun to try.
