The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Streak was rifling through paper work when he heard a knock on the door. His desk was a mess but it could wait. It seemed like everyones desk that was in that office was a mess with new students paperwork. But then again if you think about it being cluttered with new students is better than not having new mutants showing up at the school. Putting his papers down on his already cluttered desk he walked to the door and opened it. There were two people waiting on the other side of the door for him. "Hi can I help you?" Streak said in a pleasant voice. Standing in front of him there was a girl that was younger than him and a man who was probably a few years older than him. "What can I do for yall."

Jesus! What is this, Hunk High? Soon I’m going to find out that Zac Effron and Rob Pattison are both mutants. Oh, honestly, there I go with the wishful thinking again.
“Uhm… Hi.” Wasn’t this guy a bit young to be handling the paperwork at a school? On the other hand, hey, she wasn’t complaining. “I was wondering… That is, I started doing really stupid stuff lately, I mean, dangerous stuff, and from what I heard you… you take in people like me, don’t you? And someone told me I was supposed to go here. So I’m here. And I met him,” she gestured toward Alistair, “but… uh… he can of course tell you why he’s here himself.” She felt her face warming yet again, and hoped that these awkward meetings with strangers would stop soon so that she could be allowed to peacefully sink through the earth and never come back.
He’s handsome, good, and her age too. Hopefully she’ll just lose interest in me now.
Alistair smiled at the young man and extended his hand in greeting. “Hello, my name is Alistair. You really should just concern yourself with helping Callie here, all I need is some directions. Who would you recommend that I talk to if I just want to… well, let you know that I’m available should you ever need me?” As an after thought he added, “I am what you might call a freelance teacher.”

Streak had actually never dealt with two new people at the same time before. Although judging from the man's age behind the girl he wasn't here for learning purposes. So Streak decided to address the girl first. She was probably a few years younger than he was but it wasn't such a big difference that he couldn't relate to her problems. "Ya. This place is a housing and schooling facility for young mutants. I'm sure we can find a room for you. Why don't yall come in?" Streak said getting out of the door way to allow them to enter. "We can talk more about your powers once we get into my office."
He then started addressing the older man behind her. "I can take down yer information and let Tricity, our headmistress, know that you'd be able to teach something if we needed it. It's this way." Streak said indicating just a little down the hallway. "What did yall say your names were?" Streak inquired of them both as he let them into the mansion.

Callie felt herself go weak in the knees with relief. She knew that it was stupid beyond belief, but she had still, to the last moment, feared that they might not allow her to stay. In this big, strange city, in this big, strange country, she honestly wouldn't know what to do. And she didn't have enough money to get home again.
"I'm Callie Jones," she said as she followed the young man through a long hallway, while constantly throwing sideways looks to see that Alistair was keeping up. She didn't know why, but having him there made her feel less insecure. "I'm... uhm, I'm from England, though you could probably hear that."
“Alistair Chamberlain,” Alistair said with a kind smile as he too started to follow Streak, “and thank you, that would be perfect Mr…?” The young man hadn’t said his name yet so Alistair let the end of his sentence become a questioning emptiness. He kept his pace even with Callie’s, and noticing her glances he winked encouragingly at her and mouthed a silent ‘you’ll be fine.’

"Streak." He said completing the mans questioning attempt at getting his name. "Every one calls me Streak." It didn't take them long to get to his office. Streak opened the door to his office and led them inside. There were a few chairs available to them so that they could sit down. "Please have a seat yall. So Callie, are you interested in taking classes or just a place where you can learn you powers?" He took a seat behind his desk and shuffled some papers around looking for a new student form to fill out. There were plenty of work for him to do and this was just adding one more to his pile. The tours were the short and easy for him to do, so he didn't mind doing them. Although he did not like the paperwork that always followed the tours.

Callie shot a sidelong glance at Alistair, remembering his words. Well, if a genius had said it, it was probably true. Besides, she didn't want to give up her education anyhow. "I... I'd like to take classes, if that's okay," she said slowly, fidgeting a bit. "I had to leave school when I went away from home, you see. Besides, my... uh, power..." The word didn't feel right in her mouth; to her it was more of a liability than some kind of amazing power. Her gaze went to Alistar for support as she continued. "...it's a bit... scientific, like. I think I need to learn science so I learn what not to do with it, or I think I'm going to bollocks up rather badly. Oh, I'm sorry," she amended, clapping a hand to her mouth to stop more curse-words from escaping.
Alistair sat down in one of the chairs, waiting his turn. One of the corners of his mouth twitched slightly in amusment at Callies horrification at having uttered a curse-word. Other than that he was content to pretend to be a part of the furniture as not to disdurb the ongoing conversation.

“Of course you can take classes. There are lots of students here that are continuing their education because they haven’t finished high school yet. We’ve got some science classes that will be available to you.” Streak informed her. She seemed pretty shy about her new surroundings and even meeting Streak. Maybe it was just her uncomfortably with her powers that made her seem so hesitant and shy with the thought of living here. The mansion greeter wasn’t too familiar with British curse words, so he was a little amused at what she’d said; even if it was bad. To him that didn’t sound like such a horrible word to say but he figured that if she thought it was then it must not be a good word to use in England.
Finally finding a sheet of paper to write her information down on, he started to fill it out. Classes, check. Gender, female. Powers…Now was the time for the explanations. “Alright Callie, what can you actually do?” Alistair had grown silent since they arrived in Streak’s office and he didn’t want to appear that he was ignoring him so every once in a while Streak would case a glance in his direction just to make sure that he knew that he wasn’t invisible as he waited for Callie’s response.

Callie swallowed haed and surreptitiously wiped the palms of her hands on her pants. Not that they were sweaty; even after the skin graft and the Escharotomy, it was unsure whether they would ever be sufficiently healed for that. But she did it out of habit because that's what she always did when she was nervous.
"Well, I don't think I should demonstrate it" she said hesitantly, biting her lip. "I mean, if I have to I can, but I don't think I could without destroying something in here. You see, I... I make things liquid. At least that's what I think I do. I have this... sense of everything around me that isn't liquid, at least, sort of that I know I can do something with it. Water and other liquids are... dead, they don't do anything, but everything else shines out to me. I can feel it for rather a bit around me, I don't know how far, but I can't feel what things are. I just know they're not liquid, and that I can do something about that. At least for a while; I think metals and stuff like that go back to solid rather quickly."
EDIT: Lol, I wrote my whole reply in Swedish, so I had to change it *fail*

“You don’t have to demonstrate it.” Streak said to her as he quickly started to jot down notes of what she was saying. Once she was done explaining he looked up from writing and said, “Cool. It actually sounds pretty complicated, but I’m sure we can find someone with powers similar to yours that will be able to help you gain control. “I’m guessing that you’ll be needing a place to stay then. Which begs the question… Will you want a room to yourself or would you like to have a room mate?” Alistair had been very silent through this but that was probably because the topic of choice at the moment was related specifically to Callie so there was really nothing for him to say.
“Actually we have a place that would be safe for you to practice your powers. And despite the name it’s actually very safe. It’s called the Danger Room and we can get pretty much anything you can think of to practice your powers and basically anything else you want.” He explained to her. Streak thought that he might be helpful, but Jewel would also be a good person to introduce her to. His questions still needed to be answered and he wouldn’t get any answers if he continued to talk. Streak leaned back in his chair and waited for her answer.

Callie felt a wave of relief surge through her as he told her that she didn't have to demonstrate her power, but the nervosity came back when he started talking about practicing. She didn't really want to practice her power, she just wanted to forget that she had it. But then again, she supposed that she would have to practice if she wanted to learn how to avoid harming herself and others. That didn't mean she had to like it.
"I suppose I should practice," she said aloud with a sigh. "I think I could do horrible things to people if I didn't learn how to not do it when I'm afraid. As for your question..." She thought maybe she ought to sleep alone, in case she started doing stuff in her sleep. But she hadn't done anything so far, and she'd been through surgery while sedated. You'd think someone cutting skin off her thighs would have triggered a reaction if she really had been able to liquefy things while asleep. Besides, it would be nice to have some company. Falling asleep alone in strange places scared her. "I think I'd like a room mate, if that could be arranged," she said finally.

"That's why we're here. To help you understand and control your powers." Streak said at first. When she finally answered him about the living arrangements he turned to his computer. "That can work. We've got a few people that would like room mates but currently have an empty bed or two. After looking for a minute he found a room that was open. "Ah ha! Here's one for you. Oh you've got Lily as a room mate. She'll be thrilled. She's a good person that lives here. She just moved here maybe a few months ago but I'll let her tell you about herself."
Streak fumbled through his desk drawers for a minute before he produced a key that coincided with Jewel's room. He held it out for Callie to take. "Here ya go. This is your room key. I can show you where it is if you'd like. I can also give you a tour of the rest of the mansion if you're interested." Streak said. There weren't many students that came here that turned down a tour of the mansion. Most were intimidated by the sheer size of the place and after a tour they were a little less intimidated. Though most still got lost a few times for the next few weeks every once in a while. Hell, he even gets lost sometimes and he's been here for a couple of years.

Callie almost dropped the key, but then managed to negotiate it into one of her overlarge pockets in her just as overlarge shirt. "Thanks," she said, smiling both at the kindness he was showing her and the prospect of a new friend. Maybe more than just one, come to think of it. And people who wouldn't judge her because of her mutation, at least.
"I, uh... a tour would be great. But I'm rather tired now and I've got my bags to unpack, so I... I think I should go to my room first. Uh, if that's okay? Don't worry, I'll find my way there on my own, really." Well, she didn't know about really, but she felt she needed to be alone for a bit to think.
