The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Apparently, the New York Hall of Science was opening a new, larger exhibit on the planets of the solar system in November, and as part of that opening, they were inviting a number of schools to the museum to see the new exhibit.
Which had set Jenni thinking. Well, she'd really been contemplating how to do this for a while now, but this seemed the perfect time. Yes, as the news frequently showed, there were mutants out there who seemed to do nothing other than cause problems (and that was an understatement). But, Jenni also knew for a fact that there were many more mutants, just like her husband had been, who were good people.
The rest of New York just simply had to be shown that.
And this seemed to be the perfect opportunity to try and show that. What better way than to throw in a dozen or so mutant teenagers into the hundreds of students that were already going to be at the museum, when each and every one of them were going to be there for the exact same thing?
Yes, it was a small step, but Jenni knew that with this, if with nothing else she did while she was in office, she had to move slowly. Or else she would not be in office for long.
Unfortunately, there only seemed to be one place like what she was looking for in New York, and that was not in Queens. That didn't stop Jenni, though. She made an appointment, and before long was heading toward the school.
Again, once she reached the grounds the school was located on, it didn't take long for Jenni to reach her final destination. Thanking the person who had shown her the way, Jenni turned and knocked on Mr. Johnson's door.

Shifting through his work on new recruits for not only the X-Men but the new residents papers as well Sam sighed slightly as he took a sip of his coffee mug trying to keep his focus. Every little thing that was in his office seemed to be a distraction today, and the fact that he had a full rec room just on the other side of the book case didn’t help either. Setting his pen down Sam sighed and looked at the clock rubbing his temples and then looking to his schedule to see if he had any free time to maybe push off the work till later.
Eyes skimming his schedule then the clock he blinked once and then twice, ”I’m supposed to have a meeting today…” sure enough as he looked back to his schedule his attention turned to the door which echoed with a loud knock. Not bothering to look into the security camera that Streak installed he pushed up from his desk and walked over to the door.
Turning the handle and opening the door he smiled and addressed the woman standing in front of him, ”You must be….” extending his hand for a moment and trying to recall the correct name, ”Mrs. Carlson?” after the shake Sam extended his hand to the seat across from his desk and said, ”Please take a seat and try not to mind the papers, new semester is coming up.”
His desk wasn’t a huge mess, but there were papers scattered across his desk none the less most of which were names and possible classes for them. Most of them were being added into gym when he had realized what time it was and he had a meeting at the time. Once she was in his room Sam quietly shut the door behind him and walked to his chair where he sat and started to put the papers in neat stacks where they would be easy to access for later, ”So what can I do for you today Mrs. Carlson?” Sam asked with a smile as his hands kept moving papers aside.

"Mr. Johnson," Jenni greeted the man who opened the door with a handshake. It was quick, brief, business like.
And then the man was asking her to sit in front of his desk. With a slight nod, Jenni moved forward and took a seat, then turned her head to watch him walking around the desk, taking his seat as well, and then starting to shuffle papers around.
"Don't worry," Jenni said, waving Mr. Johnson's apology off. "If my desk isn't at least a little cluttered, I'm not working enough."
It didn't take long to get to the point of the meeting, though generally in her experience it didn't; time constraints in most cases didn't allow for long, casual meetings with lots of small talk.
"Actually, I was hoping to be able to help you out," Jenni replied, slipping her hand into her briefcase to pull out a flyer for the museum. "The New York Hall of Science is expanding their exhibit on the Solar System, and they've put out an invitation to the high schools in Queens for the opening. I thought you might be interested in taking your students."

Placing a folder into the pile Sam smiled slightly and let out a low whistle, he was as some knew a sucker for the solar system the planets in particular, and Museums peaked his interest to begin with. Eyes lighting up slightly as a kid on Christmas morning Sam smiled. It didn’t matter if the trip was going to cost money for bus fare or not, he would be more than willing to rent a bus for himself and whoever else wanted to go at his own expense.
Wondering slightly if the solar system at the museum in queens was anything like the one he had in the danger room Sam nodded his head slightly before saying, ”I do have one question for you, you said high schools in queens, we aren’t in queens…” he paused for a minute before explaining his curiosity more, ”And as I am sure you are aware we aren’t your typical high school, so care to explain why your offering us this invitation?”
Sam wasn’t upset, far from it if anything he was more intrigued by it than anything else. Why had she president of queens decide to extend an invitation to mansion, did she want to make the museum a more diverse place by having a few mutants show up? Again he wasn’t upset by this offer just curious, regardless of his answer he planned on taking a few in not all the students he could to the museum. It seemed the flyer she had in her hands was calling to him and he was not the one to resist the call for knowledge.

The man was curious as to why something that was a generally Queens only event was being offered to his school like this. And by the Borough President, no less. It had to be a valid question, especially considering the nature of the school, and Jenni realized, that most mutants probably didn't have the best view of politicians.
Jenni realized that what she was doing might end up changing opinions on both sides. Not that it would likely be easy, but very little she had felt that was worth doing in her life had been easy to this point.
"And that," Jenni replied, a bit of a smile growing on her face. "Is exactly why I'm here." At this point, Jenni took the opportunity to pass the flyer she had pulled out of her briefcase across the desk to Mr. Johnson. "Just because your students are different than the other students invited doesn't mean they shouldn't have the same opportunities to learn.
"Plus," Jenni continued. "There's really not that much difference between you and me, is there? Most people want approximately the same things out of life, regardless of whether they've got a mutation or not. And if we actually work at it, hopefully this cycle of hate and fear will one day come to an end."

It was odd to say the least that the borough president of queens had come to meet him and give him an invitation but as she explained it everything started to make more and more sense. To his knowledge of the all school systems in queens he was almost positive that there wasn’t a single school for mutants. Which was why she was here, she was here to give his students an invite to the museum.
As she compared the difference between himself and her he could help but smile, he had been saying that to people for years now, a simple gene was all that separated him from humans, but they still had the same basic wants and needs and he didn’t understand why it was so hard for everyone to see that.
Sam started laughing as she finished up talking. Looking at the front of the flyer Sam smiled and set it down, ”Never thought I’d like a politician so much...” leaning forward and placing his hands on the flyer which was now on his desk Sam nodded his head slightly and said, ”That is what we are all about here, living side by side with humans, one planet that is to small to fight over so why not get along?” he leaned back in his chair picking the flyer up now, ”I would be honored to come to this, Mrs. Carlson and you can count on my students showing to this as well.”

Jenni couldn't help but smile as well at the man's comment. "Unfortunately, not all of us are so easy to get along with," Jenni joked slightly. "Even I don't like a lot of them."
Had she done it? Looking across the desk at Mr. Johnson as he sat there, looking at her, looking at the flyer, Jenni thought that she had done it, had convinced him to bring his students. But this was also the easiest of the battles in this war she was going to have to fight. Jenni had known she'd be able to convince this man to bring students to the museum
And then Mr. Johnson actually verbally agreed to go, and Jenni's smile widened. "Good. From what I've heard, this new exhibit is supposed to be great. I'm sure you're students will enjoy it," Jenni said. Then Jenni nodded to. It was decided, this was really going to happen. She was on her way to actually help change things in the world.
"I'll get the arrangements started, and my office will be in contact with you soon," she said. Or rather, she would be calling since this was all her, and had nothing to do with her office. "About how many students would be coming, do you think?"

Unlike Mrs. Carlson all the other politicians he had met were… well crooked now that he had thought about it he had only really met one other politician and well, it wasn’t that pleasant of an experience.
Nodding his head slightly as Mrs. Carlson continued Sam, ”Off the top of my head there is an astronomy class here and I’ll ask around to see if any of the other teachers want to bring their classes along,” he paused giving a mental calculation as he rounded to the smallest possible outcome, ”At least 15, though I could be rounding down, we do have quite a number of students though I know not all can attend.”
Sam smiled as he set the flyer down and stood up, ”Alright, I look forward to hearing from you and your office then.” extending his hand with a wider grin, ”Your doing a good thing!”

As the man started speaking, thinking about how many students might end up going to the museum, Jenni nodded. An astronomy class would be perfect for this, though with all the other exhibits that Jenni knew were there, she figured they'd be able to tie things in with any science based class.
And then Mr. Johnson gave her a number of how many students might go, and Jenni couldn't help the slight disappointment at how small it was. In all honesty, she had been hoping that more would be able to make it. But at the same time, 15 was a far better number than none.
"Let me know if it looks like that number will be changing," Jenni said. "I doubt there'd be any problem at all with you increasing the number, but a heads up would be great on that."
As she finished speaking, Mr. Johnson was standing up, and Jenni followed suit, extending her hand to meet his. And smiling when he said that she was doing a good thing. "That's what I'm aiming for," she replied. "Hopefully it won't take too much longer before more people realize that, too."
