The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She knew that that grin should have had her worried. She just knew it. And yet, Alexandra seemed to ignore it when Sam leaned in to whisper in her ear that she had no idea of what he was capable of. A warm breathing caressed over her skin as he spoke, lips so close to her ears that she could almost feel them moving. Jolts of energy traveled down her neck and spine. Yeah, she had completely forgotten about the warning grin. Sam's lips moved, brushing hers for a moment. Before she could even enjoy the feeling, Sam turned away. She was about to frown in disagreement when he rubbed his cheek against hers. His stubble cheek!
"Saaaaam!" Alexandra cried out laughing slightly while she attempted to turn her face away from Sam without much of a success. As if it wasn't enough, ice cubes started to move on her back, acting as small icy fingers on her skin. Oh, she tried. She tried indeed. But this was more than she could handle. Alexandra burst out into laughing, eyes closed, legs kicking the bed, body jerking underneath Sam. "D-d-didn't d-d-d-o an-any-anything!" she barely managed to say in between laughs.
Molecular manipulation. It was the thing that saved her life so many times, it protected her, it was there whenever she needed. Who would thought that it would let her down in this situation. Her mutation refused to activate and molecules of frozen water moved faster and faster on her skin. Still she wouldn't say anything.
”Bruno, I think Alex, is sad, she needs kisses!”
Blue eyes snapped open, in an attempt to protest but words got stuck in her mouth she giggled like crazy under the icy touch. "N-Not fa-ir!" she called out, biting her lip to suppress another giggle.

She still managed to put up a lie despite his torture techniques, it then occurred to Sam that maybe she wasn’t lying, but then why was his stomach churning like it was, yes it was upset because of the alcohol but there was something else, a gut feeling poking at him letting him know that something happened and he along with the help of Bruno was going to find out. ”You sure Al?” Sam asked curiously as the ice started to pick up speed and as he leaned down for another scuffing.
Tapping his hand on her left wrist Sam said to Bruno, ”Kisses B!” and sure enough as he was commanded Bruno leaned over to his right side to lick Alex’s hand. Luckily it still had a taste of toothpaste a taste Bruno enjoyed greatly.
His face against hers Sam let out a small laugh of his own as he continued to rub his stubble on her face, ”Now talk or else Cammie has to get involved and she is far less nice when it comes to kisses!” after a minute of the torture Sam let up his face pulling away from hers as he gave Bruno a quick whistle causing him to stop.
”Please Alex?” asked Sam in a more docile tone than he had ever used around her before, oh yes he was pulling out all the stops even adding the doe eyes that he picked up from Katrina. ”I got a feeling that something else happened and I won’t be able to rest easy till I know what it is….” There was some truth to this, he did have to know though it wasn’t a matter of life in death, though at this point he expected some kind of reaction from her.
Alexandra couldn't answer, she just nodded a few times in response when-
”Kisses B!”
A light tap on her wrist and Bruno moved to her side and started to lick her hand. More laughter escaped her lips as Sam continued to rub his cheek on hers and ice continued to vibrate tickling her. No, she was tougher than this, she wouldn't cease to resist his demands, not even when he threatened to get Cammie into the equation. And Alexandra bravely managed to resist until the torture of laughter ceased. Sam moved his head away from her, the icy vibrations stopped, and with a whistle of his master, Bruno also lifted his head from her hand and patiently waited for another command.
Was Sam giving up? Was she winning?
"Please Alex?
She wasn't. She sighed, recognizing the tone, the irresistible doe eyes. Perhaps she could resist an hour of tickling but how exactly was she supposed to lie to him when he was telling her that he wouldn't able to rest easily? "Sam..." Her voice trailed off into the air. She didn't want to tell him. She couldn't cope with his regret if that would be his reaction. "Something happened, yes?" Alexandra finally agreed, taking a deep breath then exhaling the air noisily. "But please don't make me tell you. I want you to remember it all by yourself." She blinked as puppy dog eyes kicked into the scene. Who said she couldn't use this too. "Please..." A pout was thrown into the mix and now Alexandra hoped that this would work for her too.

That did it, the doe eyes he picked up from watching Katrina perform them several times seemed to hold the power of Alex he was looking for. She couldn’t resist could she? He didn’t even know if he was doing these eyes right to think what he could get away with if he perfected the look? Eyes locked on Alex as she spoke the griping around her wrists loosened greatly as she said his name. No longer was it full of laughter but it was filled with a more serious tone. It was obvious that she didn’t want to reveal what had happened but he had to know.
”Something happened, yes?”
She had admitted something else happened, what that something else was however scared him, was it something he did or was it something he had said? Either way he wanted to know so he could if necessary apologize properly. Was it something bad or was it something he didn’t need to apologize for? Before he could ask her she breathed in and spoke again, this time adding a look of her own.
”But please don't make me tell you. I want you to remember it all by yourself. Please..."
She was pouting now… that was cheating in his opinion and he had no problem stating that. ”The eyes are one thing but the pouting is just fighting dirty…” Sam sighed and looked up to Bruno, ”B Down!” as commanded Bruno hopped down from the bed his tongue finding it’s self over his nose enjoying the toothpaste scent.
Letting go of Alex’s wrists now completely Sam rolled off of her and onto his back next to her, ”Fair enough…” his thoughts quickly retreated to the night before trying to piece together every thing tat had happened there was something he was missing but what was it? If only he could have a clue to it or something that would spark his thought pattern. ”Is it something I need to apologize for?” Sam asked quietly his gaze focusing on his ceiling fan above his head as it rotated slowly.
Sam didn't fight back, Alexandra noticed as the pressure applied to her wrists disappeared once he had told her that she was fighting dirty. Maybe, Alexandra thought as blue eyes watched Sam moving his body from on top of hers. As he laid down next to her, Alexandra turned her head to the side, letting out a sigh of her own. If he didn't fight back it didn't necessarily mean that he was making things easier for her either.
”Is it something I need to apologize for?”
Alexandra gave him a sad smile, one he wouldn't see anyway as his focus was on the ceiling fan. No, it wasn't something to apologize for, maybe the only thing she needed apologizing for is that he had asked her to be his girlfriend when he wasn't himself. But, then again, how could she blame it for that one? The magic of the moment, the alcohol running trough his head, Alexandra didn't know the reason but she was sober enough last night to know that this might happen. No. No apologizing. "No." Was the only reply she gave him verbally. Her body gave him the rest of the answer as her hand reached out for his. When she had found it, she laced her fingers trough his and tightened her grip reassuringly. No apologizing was needed.

The hypnotic movements of the ceiling fan moving in a clockwise was for a time the distraction he needed. The fan in his room was always running, even during the winter, he didn’t know why exactly he always left it running, maybe it was because of the small noise it gave off as it rotated or maybe it was just the fact that it was something to look at… even as a kid he often found himself entranced by a similar ceiling fan.
Sighing slightly he heard her speak and her hand intertwined with his and for a brief moment things became simple but then Sam started to think about the situation. ”So it was a good thing then?” Sam asked curiously giving Alex’s hand a small squeeze as he turned his head to face hers, ”You might have to give me some time…I’m sorry I can’t remember it…” he leaned his head forward and rested it on hers for a moment before his thoughts trailed back to the night before.
He was in his bed and they talked that much he could remember… opening his eyes slightly he smiled to her and spoke, ”We talked last night, I remember that much, we were laying in my bed…. And you did this…” Sam lifted his free hand that wasn’t intertwined in hers and traced a finger down her cheek, ”And…” Sam paused for a second as his mind was making the link to everything, what he had done last night, it was good and didn’t need to be apologized for, and just like that it clicked.
He felt like Sherlock homes that just discovered criminal who stole the crowned jewels. Letting out a small laugh trying to play it all off Sam grinned his hand, which trailed her checks moments before went to the back of her neck as his thumb rubbed it gently, ”Guess I’ll never know the answer to the question then…” finding it somewhat funny that he managed to pluck up the courage to ask her when he was drunk he couldn’t help but laugh.
”So where do we go from here?” Sam asked curiously, ”Normally when I make a fool of myself in front of my girlfriend I’d like to make it up to her, but if your busy later today I would understand.” grinning slightly Sam looked back to the fan and closed his eyes as his chest rose and fell waiting to hear her expression to what he remembered.
Alexandra blinked slightly in response when Sam had turned his face sideways too. She was unsure if him asking her to be his girlfriend could be placed in any category but for now she decided to lean toward a positive answer and trough her face expression, she made sure that Sam understood that. "It's okay." she replied once their skins were brushing against each other. Eyelids covered blue irises and once again Alexandra tightened her grip on Sam's hand for a moment to further prove that she was speaking the truth.
Her eyes remained closed as Sam shared with her the memories of last night which he could remember, and, as she listened, her own memories were being replayed inside of her mind. When he paused, she decided to open her eyes and scanned Sam with a questioning look. His eyes almost sparkled in recognition, which brought a smirk on the molecule manipulator's face.
"Guess I'll never know the answer to the question then..."
Or he put things together. Nonetheless, what brought joy to her mind was that there didn't seem to be any hint of regret or being sorry in his expression or his voice. Alexandra felt happy as that weight was taken off her shoulders and let out a small laugh of her own.
"So where do we go from here? Normally when I make a fool of myself in front of my girlfriend I'd like to make up to her but if you're busy later today I would understand."
Alexandra bit her lip slightly, letting herself enjoy hearing the world 'girlfriend' coming out of Sam's mouth now that he was sober. Smiling, the turned her face toward the ceiling too watching the rotation of the fan absent-minded. "I'm sure I can put you somewhere on that busy agenda of mine." she joked. The steady rotation of the ceiling fan worked its hypnotizing magic on her and soon her eyelids started to get heavier with every moment that passed. "What do you have in mind?" Alexandra asked, her voice lazy, her eyes now completely closed.

The grip around his hand tightened Alex; he guessed was letting him know that she was still around. Sam responded to the tightening with a smile, his thumb rubbing her hand gently as his gaze followed the rotating ceiling fan. Where to go? Hmmm… if it was warmer he would have suggested an outing of sorts possibly the zoo or maybe something a little more romantic like a picnic… he blinked once then twice, she seemed to realize that he figured everything out but, was still being very calm about the situation. Turning his head to face hers, her eyes shut it seemed she was hiding her true expressions with her lip under her teeth.
Grinning Sam said simply, ”Well, if you’re not to busy later tonight I was thinking of something simple, dinner perhaps maybe a movie, cliché but I seem to enjoy those kinds of things.” Dinner that was going to be easy if she had agreed it seemed more often than not most of his dates found themselves all at the same restaurant, it defiantly wasn’t for the atmosphere, seeing as it was so public, and a bar, no the reason he went there was for the burgers and fries, and as far as the movies were concerned a new horror/thriller started playing a few weeks ago and he had been looking for someone to drag along to see that with him.
From her previous words and the look on her face with her eyes closed it seemed to Sam that someone didn’t get enough sleep and despite how he was feeling he was talking about himself. ”It must have took a lot out of her, taking care of me when I was like that.” thought Sam as he silently sat there for a moment or two as his own eyes started to become heavy. Moving his head back slightly Sam eyed the clock and sighed slightly, it was still far to early to be up when work didn’t have to be done.
Nudging Alex slightly with his hand, which was wrapped around hers Sam asked, ”You wanna try and get a few more hours of sleep? It’s still early…” eyeing his pillow he debated about moving, and thought against it for the lone reason of having to let go of Alex’s hand, he wasn’t ready to let go just yet.
With her eyes closed and her mind and body anxious to have a few more hours of sleep, Alexandra smiled lazily. "Cliche sounds perfect..." she replied, and keeping her eyes still closed, she turned her head to the side. A gentle nudge on her hand made blue irises to reveal themselves to the light and Alexandra looked with curiosity at Sam.
”You wanna try and get a few more hours of sleep? It’s still early…”
Her eyes followed Sam's where what had been her pillow for the last few hours seemed to be summoning her head to rest on. Then, she looked for the watch and sighed. Normally, she would have been up right now and already jogging around the mansion for her morning training. Unfortunately, today even the thought of getting up from the bed seemed awful and simply impossible to do. Yeah, training would have to wait right now. "Sleeping also sounds perfect..." she said, eyes closing once again while a content smile made its way to her lips/
