Mutations
Mutation description: gravity manipulator Strengths: If Domingo is within about 5-10 feet of something, he is able to reduce and even diminish the effect of gravity on it, no matter how large or small. If the object is then pushed, depending on its weight and the force of the push, it will gently or strongly rise into the direction it was moved. So, he could stand near to a car for example, use his power, push the car and it would simply move in the direction as if weightless. He could render a potential attacker helpless by applying his power and say punching them. They'd fly off backwards until they hit something. He can only affect one thing at a time though, and gravity begins to affect them again after they leave his 5-10 ft range, or if he reasserts it on them. He can also attract objects to him when he uses the other side of his power, depending on the size and weight of the object. This is much harder to use, as it requires control by intense concentration, something he is only beginning to understand. Domingo can also reduce the effect gravity has on himself and push away from the ground, meaning he can fly. He is learning to work out the amount of gravity needed to be in effect to rise and descend as he flies. He can carry and escort any object he picks up or pushes into the air; once there, its weightlessness means he can guide it in the sky. Weaknesses: Domingo suffers from unpredictable blackouts, related somehow to his mutation, which can have sometimes humorous, sometimes lethal consequences. If he blacks out, objects and people around him can be pulled towards him until he comes to. Doctors haven’t been able to work out how to prevent them. They occur randomly, but not frequently, only every now and again and with differing force. If Domingo is more than 5-10 feet away from an object, his power doesn’t work. So if he has previously used his power on something, in order for gravity to be affected by it again, he would need to get close enough to it to affect it with his power. The attraction side of his power will be extremely hard to master and he cannot control it with much strength or accuracy as yet. So if he concentrates he can attract a pen on a table in a room so it flies over to him. The only thing is, whatever is around the pen is affected too, so a newspaper the pen was sat on would be affected too, pages gusting and flying towards him! If he is flying with an object and is knocked unconscious or suffers one his blackouts, the object suddenly becomes ‘gravitised’ and will fall back to the earth. This is potentially disastrous, and puts certain restrictions on Domingo even feeling confident to use his power.
Fighting Style
Explanation: attended kickboxing when younger, which has given Dom some fighting capabilities, also when using his power is can become unassailable, by applying his power which leaves someone unable to move properly. Pros for fighting style: Can move into the air with an opponent and punch them upwards, which will send them flying off up into the sky. Whilst flying he can use this to attack opponents effectively from above. Cons for fighting style: Isn’t an expert hand to hand fighter. When fighting on the ground he is easily overpowered and out manoeuvred. As he can only affect one person at once, two or more opponents are harder to fight against.
Faction Allegiance
The X-men/ The Order/ The Kabal/ Other/ Unaffiliated: unaffiliated
History Of Your Character:
Born in Valencia, Spain, Domingo had a happy but strict childhood, with his father Juan Manuel Agravar a professional footballer (soccer player) who played for Valencia before he moved to London when his father changed clubs. He moved to London when he was eight years old, and lived there with his mother, father and twin brother Raul. He and his brother both followed their father into playing football, and as children both were rated highly as having the potential to make it as pros when they grew up, just like their father. When life seemed to be as perfect as it could be for the young family, an event occurred that would re-shape the scope of the twin brothers’ lives. At the age of thirteen, Domingo’s mother walked into his bedroom only to find him floating around his bedroom in his sleep, with gravity seemingly ineffectual to him. It was almost like seeing astronauts floating weightless in a space station on TV! His mother, shocked by this surprising scene she had stepped into, screamed out loud which immediately woke him up, and opening his eyes, Domingo fell hard to the floor. Domingo, against his will, was taken to the doctor, where he was ‘diagnosed’ as a mutant. It was around this time that he had his first mild blackout in school. It was in class and when it happened, all of the pens, pencil’s, papers and books in the room began to be uncontrollably attracted to him, as if he was the centre of the room. It took 45 minutes to get him to come back to consciousness, and the result of this was that he was kicked out of school, told to “… find some other muties to get educated with.” Over the next few years, his abilities occurred more and more. At sixteen he and Raul were playing an important trial match in front of a host of top clubs when Domingo’s abilities affected a match. Domingo went to shoot at the goal, but when his foot touched the ball, it stuck to him like glue. All of a sudden, the players near to him began to pull towards him, knocking him to the ground. The few players next to him were pulled on top of him and couldn’t get up. Only when Domingo began to suffocate from the pressure of the bodies of the other players lying on top of him did it subside and the players, one a team-mate, the other few opponents, jumped up looking embarrassed and scratching their heads! Everybody who witnessed this strange occurrence then realised he was a mutant, and his abilities were seen as having the potential for cheating. Domingo was rejected on his ‘extra unnatural capabilities’ and was banned from ever making it as a professional footballer. Raul, as Domingo’s twin brother, was also handed out the same punishment even though he had shown no signs himself of any kind of ability or power. Domingo’s brother never forgave him for ruining his own career, and this resulted in Domingo slowly withdrawing himself from the outside world for a little while. During this time of self-realisation and finding of himself, Domingo learnt how to manage his abilities and he began to learn to even like them. He worked out how to use his unique relationship with gravity to good effect. He had learnt how to fly, mostly unconvincingly, but he was slowly improving. Throwing a ball into the air, he had learnt how to slow its descent to the ground, almost like it was a feather. He learnt how to attract small objects to him, in one instance, using his power to make his toothbrush fly into his hand Star Wars-style, before all the bottles of deodorant, shampoo and after-shave flew at him and covered him in the different substances!
About a year passed and Domingo had realised he wanted and needed to be with others like him. He had to learnt how to control this power he had, so he could prevent it from happening at ridiculous moments, even though when not concentrating, these ridiculous moments would occur. But he wanted to learn how to control it absolutely. He wanted to use it to help people in any way he could, not be seen as a threat or nuisance. Domingo looked into and researched mutants on the internet, stumbling across excerpts written about the X-Men and other groups of mutants.
When he explained he wanted to head to America to find these other mutants he had heard all about in newspapers, on TV and on the net, his parents both reluctantly agreed. They still loved their son very much, unlike Raul who Domingo didn’t speak to at all anymore. Raul had become something of a rebel, leaving home and hanging out with drug-dealers. He was always in trouble with the police, and all of his friends were known local gangsters. Knowing what was best for Domingo, his father loaned him some money, and at the age of eighteen, he headed to the United States of America to find those he had heard about. The ones he knew he belonged with. The ones who would accept him for who and what he will always be, a mutant.

“So, that’s what I’ve decided. Mum, Dad? Is there anything you want to ask me?”
Domingo looked up at his parents. His mother was tearful and his father looked sternly out of the window. Their son had grown up and realised he had something in the world he had to find. Domingo was special and he needed to find others like him.
“We understand,” Domingo’s father Juan Manuel whispered. “We see what you must do, what you must find. We will help you, mi hijo.”
“I want you to know that I love you. You’ve both always stood by me. That will stay inside of me forever.” A small twinkle appeared in Domingo’s unusually bright blue eyes. The twinkle then turned into water, and a glistening trail of the tear rolling down his face became visible to Domingo’s mother and father. He closed his eyes and let his head fall into his hands. This emotional moment was cut short though, when the front door flew open and in strode Raul. The young mutant’s twin brother had been cast out when he became violent and abusive, staying out all night then returning to steal money from his own mother. He had become a gang member, and Juan Manuel had turned his back on him, throwing him out and telling him to stay away.
“Oh well now take a look at this. Happy familia. Well, I’m here to get the rest of my stuff, okay dad?!”
“Just get it and leave. You’re not wanted here anymore,” muttered Domingo’s mother Amar.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be gone soon. Hey Domingo, what’s the deal with all the bags, you goin’ somewhere?”
“I’m leaving Raul. I’m going to find others like me.”
“Well isn’t that just the best news I’ve ever heard? You’re a joke, Domingo. You are a freak. A FREAK!” Raul shouted. “Why don’t you just curl up and die somewhere, huh? Yeah, I’m glad you’re going. I hate you. You’re not my brother. And one day, I’m gonna get you back for ruining my life. One day. And no matter where you are, I’ll find you. So run along, brother. And run fast. ‘Cause the way this world is headed, you’re gonna be locked up forever with the rest of the freaks.”
Domingo, now standing, began to float above the floor. His eyes were sparkling bright ice blue, and his teeth were clenched. “Get… out… now.” Raul looking deeply into his twin brother’s eyes, snarled back, muttering in a deep voice, “I’m not afraid of you. And I will get you back.” Raul turned and strolled out of the door, laughing to himself.
Domingo, dropping slowly back to the floor, walked over to his mother and father. “If he does anything to you, I’ll come back straight away.”
“Don’t worry, son. I can handle your brother. You just worry about finding yourself.”
“I will, padre. I will make you proud.”
