The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

". . ." Hear ye, hear ye. All birds that doth requireth a nesting colony, Lord Shin's mouth is open! His jaw hung agape wide enough to serve as a landing pad for crows. This was... this was pretty damn cool, is what this was. From the shifting of body parts and change in size to the alteration of natural pigmentation, this power was sublime. It had surpassed the range of figment of imagination, into the reality of the here and now. The swivel chair slid back as Shin rose to his feet and gave a standing ovation. "Bravo! Bravo! Bravissimo! Bravo! That's probably the coolest display I've seen in a while, Teddie."
He slowly walked around the side of the desk, chin held and thinking. Yes. Yes, he nodded to himself. Yes. He glanced back at the beagle. "So you can move around when you're in this form. That requires practice though, yes? I'd imagine it'd take quite some time to get used to each shape. ... More importantly, while in a separate form, can you maintain speech functions? And what all forms do you have...?"
He suppressed the urge to hug the cute stuffed puppy while he asked this. Extreme curiosity was one thing. Snuggling the students was an entirely different stuffed animal.
Ted only laughed in his head. He was getting a standing ovation. This was something that he didn't expect. Sure he expected to be applauded or even stared at for putting on such a good show but standing ovations was something else. Ted smiled as best he could considering he was a stuffed animal at the moment. Soon the questions started flying. There really wasn't anything he could do to stop him from asking the questions. All Ted could do at the moment was nod his head in agreement with what Shin was asking him. Hopefully it would become obvious that he couldn't talk like this. Although now that he thought about it that would be something that needed a lot of work.
"So you can move around when you're in this form. That requires practice though, yes? I'd imagine it'd take quite some time to get used to each shape. ... Ted nodded in agreement. Yes he can move around in this form. Yes it took a lot of practice and YES it took him a long time to get used to each shape that he feels comfortable in.
More importantly, while in a separate form, can you maintain speech functions? And what all forms do you have...?" He shook his head sideways to try to tell Shin that he couldn't talk in other forms. Although with all the shaking of his head he wasn't sure if shin could discern a single answer from it. So far so good. He wasn't being attacked by Thor and that was probably the best part of it so far. Since Ted couldn't talk he wasn't quite sure what to do. Ted just stood there on the top of the desk looking at Shin. Maybe he would get the idea that he couldn't say anything to him like this. Changing back would take so much out of him that he wouldn't be paying attention to the rest of the tour and all he'd want to do is go to sleep.

"... Oh." Shin's face fell a bit. From the way the boy was bobbling around like that, it seemed he couldn't actually speak in plushie form. Well, that was a let-down. "We'll have to work on that. If only you had thumbs so we could give you a little notepad... then you could write what you were thinking, or hold up cute little anime smileys...I don't suppose you can change back right now?"
Ted gave him a single nod. Shin frowned.
"Didn't think so. Well, I guess I'll just have to give you the tour while you're in this state." He held his chin, looking away a moment to ponder. "That'll be a lot of talking to myself... it's a good thing I like the sound of my own voice..."
Thor lifted his paws up onto the desk and sat his snout in front of the beagle. He sniffed the stuffed dog earnestly while Shin's back was turned. Just as Shin returned his focus to the soon-to-be-chew toy, Thor's mouth opened wide.
"Thor!!" Shin darted forward to snatch Teddie away from the Siberian Husky. He pet the stuffed animal protectively, and shook his head at the dog. "Bad Thor. No chewing. Just for that, you're going back to the room before we start the tour. As for you," He held Teddie up in front of his face to look him in the eye. "You're okay with me carrying you around, right?" He'd just hate it if he'd inadverdently offended a new student.
Ted was doing fine sitting on the desk. There was no way he could become a chew toy up here. Right? Wrong. When Thor put his head on the desk Teddy stared at the real dog in front of his face. Thor was now much bigger than Ted was. However, that didn't change the fact that Thor still wanted to chew on him. Ted did just about the only thing he could do at the time. He arched his back and he made as mean a face as he could possibly muster in this form. Ted even arched his back and attempted to make a growling sound. It didn't work to well as nothing came out. Unfortunately Thor wasn't impressed by the stuffed animals attempt at intimidation.
Thankfully, Shin turned around and saw what was going on. He scooped Ted up and out of the reach of Thor's mouth. Ted looked over his shoulder at Thor and smiled. Ha ha you can't get me now sucker. he thought just before he was lifted up to eye level with Shin. Well it was either get carried by you and you talk to yourself, or I become a chew toy for any more animals that might be roaming around the mansion. Ted thought as he gave a nod signaling he was ok with being carried around for the tour. Maybe if he was in a more formidable stuffed animal form he would prefer to walk the halls. But as it was he wasn't so he would be stuck with being shlepped around the building.

"Okay, then. Well, in that case..." He set the stuffed animal down for a second, and grabbed the keys he'd pulled out earlier. He dangled them in front of the stuffed animal's face. "Don't let me forget to give you the key to your room later. I guess I'll lock your bags up in the office while I show you around." The keys slipped into Shin's pocket. He reached out and picked Teddie up, setting him on his shoulder. Then he picked up Thor's leash, and walked out the door. "Make sure to hold tight. I've only got the one hand."
He turned to lock the door to the office, then walked down the hallway and up the stairs. Thor managed to get up those just fine. They stopped in front of the door to Shin's room. He set Thor's leash down as he unlocked the door to his room, then nudged the pooch into the room with a gentle leg push. Thor reluctantly brushed past them. Shin closed and locked his door, then picked Teddie up off his shoulder.
"Now, I guess the first thing to do is to set some ground rules. That," He pointed in the direction of the girls' dormitories. "Is the girls' side of the living areas. Don't go over there late at night to drop off love notes, and give them all the courtesy in the world. You know the drill. Basic Summer camp etiquette, really. Boys on the left, girls on the right. Adults in the center. No straying after hours. Sharing is caring." He slipped the last part in with a Care Bear stare. "Now, over here... is the library."
He walked down the hall a bit, and entered the room. It was musty, spacious, and filled with books. The second floor of the library was more Mezzanine than lounge area. While the first floor had the occasional poofy chair for slumping down in to read, the second had the bare amenities. Shin set Teddie down on a table, and let him scamper around a bit as he took it in.
Ted was getting picked up and put down left and right. It was like a roller coaster that forgot all of the safety features. No seat belts, no handle bars, no nothing. Sitting on Shin's shoulder was a little iffy though. It was definitely a bumpy ride and he struggled to hang on. His paws gave a lot of effort and trying to grip Shin's shoulder and not go sliding off and onto the floor where Ted would probably have ended up in Thor's mouth. That definitely would have ruined his day. Ted listened to Shin as he started to talk about the places that were right around them at the moment.
Teddy made sure to note which side of the hallway was the girls side. Because he was such a good little stuffed beagle, he would never think about sneaking into the girls rooms. Although he did make sure to note that he shouldn't get caught if he, happened to be over there late at night. Ted had never had the luxury of going to a summer camp. However, he did think that he knew the rules that were usually in place at a camp. The next thing Ted knew they were walking through the halls again. They then walked into what was obviously the school's library. If you think two story libraries are big when you're human sized, try being about a foot tall. Things were alot... A lot? A LOT! bigger. Teddy was placed on a table once again. All the books seemed thicker than they probably were really. However, that didn't stop the beagle from looking around. He pranced around the table like he was a little cub learning to hunt. He'd pounce on one book and walk all over it before jumping off it and back onto the table. From there Ted would run from one end to another and try to jump completely over the books. He'd been in libraries before so this place was nothing really new to him. The young mutant did like to play around when he was changed. No matter the size he was it was still fun to move around and pretend that he was a real animal. After he'd had his fun he looked up at Shin. He was ready to go explore someplace new and maybe get to run around there also.

"Glad to see you liked it," Shin smiled. He scooped up the stuffed beagle in his left arm and walked down the staircase to the first level of the library, and out the doors. Next on his stop were the classrooms. "Music room, science room, math class, language." As he came to each room, Shin held Teddie up to the door's window so he could peer in through the glass. One second, two seconds, three seconds, four, he moved on. Classrooms were boring. He figured the beagle would think the same. Working this way, they breezed through all the school's classrooms in a matter of minutes, and were on to the kitchen.
Teddie's feet padded down on the counter top in-between toaster and microwave. Shin took a step back to make a sweeping gesture. "The kitchen. Good for all your nomming needs."
Ted was glad that they didn't linger in the classrooms. If you've seen one you've seen them all. Ted thought as they moved from classroom window to classroom window. The short amount of time they were in front of each classroom was long enough for him to get the idea that there were plenty of people here that went to school. Their next stop was the kitchen. This was important and although Ted wasn't sure sure if he could find these places again by himself it was good to know that he'd been here previously.
Being around the kitchen made him hungry. The food smelled so good from his position on the counter. Ted dashed between the toaster and microwave. Both were just a tad taller than him and so he decided to jump on top of the microwave and over to the fruit that was sitting around there. Teddy sniffed them for a bit before he was satisfied that the food was real that that he'd have to make sure he came back there to eat once he was back to his human shape.

"We have a woman who comes in here and cooks for the students. Usually, you can find some good food in the fridge. Otherwise, there are groceries for making your own meals, and if you really want, there's a phone nearby to order out. Right up here," Shin popped open the cupboard above Ted's head. He took a step back and pointed widely. "That's where we keep the microwavable stuff. Ramen, cup-noodles, popcorn... TV dinners are in the freezer, if we even have those." Shin glanced off at the refrigerator. "With so many kids, it's a race to the prize on restock days."
He smiled. It seemed like Ted enjoyed this location as well. Shin paused to think of where he had yet to take the beagle. They'd done the dormitories, the kitchen, the library... all that left were the outside things, and... "Infirmary!" Shin announced with a raised index finger. "Or... the living room, if you wanna get your Megaman on..."
He raised his cast arm like a cannon, and made sounds like 'pew pew'. He took the silence of the room to mean 'pew pew' success. "Living room it is, then."
Ted found himself back in Asian arms as the pair exited the kitchen, and tore down a hall towards couch city. Shin set the pooch down at the doorway of the living room, and slowly opened the door a crack to reveal...
Television, couches, recliners, comfortable living arrangements, Wii.
"We only just got the Wii wiicently. I'm still stuck on level 1 of Megaman 9..."
Ted smiled at Shin who seemed to be currently making gun motions with his cast. Ted was swept up and away by Shin once more. This seemed like an unending event at the moment but Ted didn't mind because it was easier than walking around himself at the moment. As soon as he was set down Teddy started to poke his head through the door. Shin had only opened it a crack and Ted was able to see what was inside there. Whenever it was opened just enough Ted bolted through the door. He wanted to have some fun running around this room also. It wouldn't take him long to be have his fill of fun in the living room for the moment. Before anything could be done Ted was already well inside the doors and jumping up at the couch. Unfortunately it was to high for him to get up on so Teddy sat there for a few seconds before moving on to a different area. Maybe getting on one of the recliners would be easier.
Luckily it was and Ted was sitting back in one of the recliners like any normal stuffed animal that was left there by the owner. He thought it was a pretty convincing mock that he was doing. From here Ted could see the TV and the Wii along with the rest of the room. Ted supposed that many of the students didn't know that the Wii had arrived otherwise there'd be an abnormal amount of people in the living room trying to get a chance to play it. Ted then moved back to Shin. He was enjoying the tour more as a beagle than he probably would if he were human at the moment. The young boy figured that they'd stop by the infirmary because Shin had mentioned it while they were in the kitchen. Although wherever they went next didn't really matter to Ted.

With a big yawn, Shin plopped back into his own personal take-it-easy-chair. He stretched his arms out in front of him, and kicked back the recliner for a moment of luxurious relaxation. Eyes closed, he waggled his finger like a conductor, directing Teddie's attention around.
"Infirmary is on the first floor, near the offices which you've already seen. DocProf is the nice old man who works there. He likes root beer and he's a healer. If you get any injuries, he can help you out. He's a bit better than the silent cleric from most RPGs. His assistant is, as Dominic so adeptly put it, 'The Goddess of Molecules', Alexandra. She's very pretty." He smiled. "If you get a scratched knee of something, maybe you can get a Band-Aid."
There was no need to walk all the way to the mansion's infirmary for Ted, was there? He'd already seen the offices, the classrooms, and most of the things in-doors. The infirmary was so boring. Shin was sure he'd find it if a need arose. As for the other locations on the mansion tour... there were only high-security areas that remained. Shin didn't suppose the beagle had much interest in playing around in a big metal room with holograms... though the image of a tiny beagle among a see of massive teddies in teddies brought a smirk to his face. Maybe Shin would show the kiddo the Danger Room later. For now, he was a bit sleepy. He feigned naptime, turning in the chair to lay his head against hands.
