The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(OOC: This is for IRIS to start. Her mutation is out of her control, though she it conscience of her actions while it's happening. ANY resident of the mansion can participate in this thread to try and stop her. She is EXTREMELY POWERFUL. You SHOULD get hurt and this WILL be difficult. A few of the residents who have been around for a while should recognize Iris and thus, be confused as to why she's attacking. You wouldn't immediately try and kill her unless you don't know her. The fight doesn't have to be limited to the mansion grounds either. It's possible that members of The Order may appear later on.)

When Kaz reappeared, Iris immediately tensed again. There seemed to be a pattern emerging here, with Nail being on the losing end and her being unable to help. But a few moments later she felt the strangest calm wash over her, like a cool breeze. Her body relaxed, and slumped slightly against the wall. Syn reappeared, but this time Iris merely watched her passively; it was as if there was a veil over her mind. She obeyed as Syn unlocked her cell and gestured for her to come out. As she was led away, Iris shot a final look behind her. A voice in the back of her mind kept telling her she shouldn’t go; she shouldn’t leave Nail behind. But that calmness wouldn’t be argued with. She allowed herself to be led to the garage and into the van with no fuss. Perhaps it was Syn’s power, or maybe just being exhausted, or a combination of the two; once the van began moving, Iris quickly slipped into a deep sleep. No nightmares, no fear, nothing. Just darkness.
She awoke later to a sharp pain on her arm, then another in her side as she was shoved roughly out of the van and onto the ground. Groggy with sleep and confusion, she simply lay there as the vehicle drove off, spraying her with dirt and gravel. Eventually she forced herself to her feet. She leaned against the gates nearby, not at first recognizing the Mansion. But once she did, memories came flooding back. Without Syn’s power to keep her calm, full-blown panic set in. She had to get inside, had to find Tricity and tell her what had been going on. And she had to get back to help Nail.
She banged on the gates, yelling for someone to open. Unknown to her, inside Jonathon had already spotted her, and set the gates to open, before heading to the infirmary to find the DocProf.
Iris ran across the grounds headed for the front door, at first unaware of the headache that was creeping into her still-fogged mind. Several students hanging about the grounds watched, convinced she was insane, and had she been able to see herself, she would have agreed with them. Stuck in KP, she hadn’t changed clothes or showered in days, and her short blond hair was uncombed and even more wild than usual. Plus she was covered in dirt and dust from her abrupt drop-off. Also, though she didn’t realize it, her eyes had glazed over, due to the Haywire effect.
She was nearly to the front door when a sharp pain shot through her eyes and neck. She lost her balance and tumbled to the ground. She got to her knees, but couldn’t go any farther, as the ground seemed to be heaving and tumbling beneath her. She could hear her own heartbeat like thunder between her ears, and her stomach felt as someone had punched her there.
Something, somewhere, in the back of her mind shouted at her to get up, and get away from the Mansion. But she couldn’t move, except for the shakes that were starting rack her body.

Michael had come out into the grounds to relax and read his book, The Wizard’s First Rule. His reading was soon interrupted when he spotted the dishevelled girl approach the mansion and then collapse to the ground. Instantly he was up from the chair he’d been sitting in and moved to her side.
“Hay, are you ok? Come on talk to me, what’s your name?” He didn’t know what to do, as he didn’t know any first aid. However, he figured that he should talk to her and try and keep her calm, hoping that someone inside was getting help.

Mettaliar had just finished seeing Tricity when he decided to head outside. It had been a while since he was at the mansion and decided to just walk around. Once outside he noticed someone on her knees and shaking violently. A closer inspection resembled the girl from that place. No... no way. How many more were released? He had no time to ponder as he noticed her body going insane. It must have been from extended time with that Jack girl. He didn't notice, while at KP, what her reaction was. He must have gone out into his own hallucinations by that time.
He quickly ran to her and kneeled down beside her being cautious. "Hey, let me help you."

Raina wa sjust arriving back at the mansion when she saw Micheal. "Hey Mike!" she waved. "We lost you back in the kitchen!" she headed over to see him with a guy she hadn't met yet. "What's all the comotion?" That's when she saw Iris on the ground. Sometime didn't seem right. "Guys, back up ok? Give Iris some space." Raina liked Iris. She was one of the first mutants she had met when she first came to the mansion, and Iris made her feel very welcomed. Raina and Iris had a lot in common.
Raina bent down and could see that things were not alright. She got a pit in her stomach. The air just wasn't even right. "Iris?" she asked in a calm reassuring voice. "Do you want me to get someone?"

Iris' mind continued to spin. She couldn't figure out why she was losing control. Jack was nowhere nearby. Was she? What was happening to her?
Iris closed her eyes against the pain and confusion.
“Hay, are you ok? Come on talk to me, what’s your name?”
<"No! Stay away!"> she screamed in her mind, but her mouth didn't want to work. Others began to come toward her. She recognized Raina's voice. She didn't want to hurt Raina. She didn't want to hurt anyone, but things were now out of her control.
Another voice reached her, a familiar voice that she'd never been able to put a name to. She managed to open one eye.
The quiet guy, the one that had been in the cell next to Nail; he was okay. And he could help. She struggled to control her voice.
"You... you were..." She groaned as another wave of pain racked her head. Her back began to burn inside. "Keep... them.... awaa" Her voice trailed off as Haywire took full effect.
For a few seconds her mind went completely blank. The shaking stopped but she remained on her hands and knees, head down, still breathing heavily. Her hair suddenly washed from blond to a dull violet. She tilted her head to side just slightly, and opened her eyes. They were the same strange color as her hair now, and completely unfocused.

Mettaliar heard Iris talking to him and tried to make out what she was saying. Once he understood what she was saying, he tried to place as to why she would be telling him that. Suddenly he got a vision of her in her Haywire state before he lost his mind. He shuddered and put his arm up around the others crowding around her.
"Stay... back. She's not herself. She might just lose her-" Just at that moment her hair and eyes turned a violet color. His eyes widened and he gulped. "- mind." he continued. He tried to show no fear when her eyes opened and stared at him and the others. If he remembered correctly, this fight was not going to end so well.

Nicki had been stirred from her book at a bunch of noise coming from outside. She puter her book down and, leaaving Nika to her catnap (she loved that pun), ventured outside.
She didn't get far before she saw a bunch of people, none of which she knew very well, surronding someone else she didn't know. The girl in the middle looked familar so she knew it wasn't an enemy but that was really the only thing making her think that.
"Stay... back. She's not herself. She might just lose her mind"
This sentiment was concreted by the girl...losing her mind. Nicki walked closer, carefully, staring at the girl. She hadn't hurt anyone, she more just looked like she went nuts then had actually done so. Nicki tried to focus in on the girl's thoughts but it was iradic...scary even. At least scared.
Nicki looked around, turning to the guy who had uttered those words. "This is bad huh?" she asked.
"What a lovely day." sighed Fiona, as she strolled about though the mansion. She had been feeling like she needed a walk, and soon enough had dawned loose and airy black pants with a black top. It was somewhat small, with no back, leaving nothing but criss-crossed straps. She took her iPod from her room, listening to a blend of trance and tribal when she finally stepped outside.
Looking at the gates, she realized there were a bunch of people standing around, none of which she had met before. They seemed to be congregating around a woman, with a very wicked shade of violet hair. With a smile, she approached, before halting. She soon began to pick up on anxiety, and ducking behind a tree stayed to gauge what was happening. "I've seen that woman around..." mumbled Fiona, as she stood and waited, the music helping her to focus.

Ali had been pleasantly talking and meeting some of the residents when there were sounds of shouting and other commotion. She saw others running through the hallways. Were they under attack? Was someone hurt? What's going on? she thought to herself.
Stepping out into the main hallway she tried to see what was happening. All she got from the scene was what appeared to be a crazy female and everyone else stating to stay away form her. None of it looked like it was going to be any fun. The girl ahd a strange look in her eyes. Almost as if she wasn't there. Ali kept her distance but she wasn't about to let some crazy girl get loose in the mansion.

Michael saw all the others approaching and felt relieved, surely one of them would know what to do. He spotted Raina and gave her a quick smile before stepping back like she asked. Hearing Iris speak, then the first guy declare she might lose her mind, then seeing her change made him worry again.
She’s a mutant, she’s activating her powers, she’s losing her mind, I have no idea what she can do and there are a bunch of people around who could get seriously hurt if she… He didn’t finish the though. Instead he readied himself to throw himself in the line of fire, knowing that he could take the punishment better than anyone else here.

Mettaliar noticed how everyone was crowding around her. God no. This is not good. He waved his hands back. "Stop! Just get back." He then heard a girl ask him...
"This is bad huh?"
Mettaliar raised his eyebrow and shook his head. "No... not so bad. Unless you would like to call a powerful insane mutant bad... than yes, this is horrible."

ooc: Totally feel free to send Raina flying Iris, give the others a demo of what you do when you're crazy
"But It's iris! She's my friend!" cried Raina pushing past the others. "We need to do something!" despite every instinct in her body and Mettaliar's orders, Raina got down on all fours infront of Iris. "Iris? Iris? Come back to us! Hey, it's me, remember me? Raina? the klutzy new girl..." with that she reached out to touch her. All hell was about to break lose.

(OOC: Thanks Raina. )
Iris felt people near her, but what she saw was completely different from reality. Faces were blurred out, and voices were slurred so she couldn't understand. Everyone seemed to be wearing either white or green lab coats, and they all seemed focused on her. She was fast becoming claustrophobic. One closed in on her, and she cringed back. Water was not as reactive as Ice had been, but Iris still looked like a scared little girl, ready to run.
Then the figure reached out. She felt someone touch her.
"Stay AWAY!!!"[/i]
Her scream echoed across the Mansion grounds. As she pulled away, the ground around her suddenly erupted with water as the sprinkler system running below ground exploded. Fueled by fear and will, the jets of water shot up and outward with immense force, pushing away the one who had touched her. She didn't care what the consequences were; she just wanted them away.
She scrambled to her feet and back pedalled away from the crowd. Some of the figures were still standing. She pulled one of the water jets down toward the ground. Gathering the resulting mud to her in giant blob, she began firing mud 'bullets' toward anyone nearby.
One figure, which turned out to be a tree, she nearly ran into. With another scream of fear she pulled more water into a thin, high-powered stream. A downward slash of her arm, and the tree toppled over, severed clean from one side to the other.
She backed away from the tree, fighting to catch her breath. Her warped eyes darted from side to side.[/color]

As Iris blasted Raina back Michael began to move. Placing himself in front of the others he took the majority of the mud bullets. They slammed into him with enough force to make him stagger back, but stayed on his feet.
Seeing Nicki he called out to her. “Nicki! Make sure Raina’s ok!” Turning back to Iris he saw her cut down a tree before backing away. “Everyone stay back, just let her calm down.”
He began walking slowly towards Iris, speaking in what he hoped was a calming voice. “Iris, it’s going to be alright. Let me try and help you. Don’t worry, you can’t hurt me.” He walked forward slowly, trying not to startle her.
