The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Even when he held back the power of the punches he still managed to knick her slightly or at least enough for her to notice which much to his delight she answered his compliment with a smile. Nodding slightly the ice on his hands shattering he smiled back at her and said, ”Why don’t we call the physical portion of the session over? Three out of Six is pretty good and we found your fighting style, you are from what I could gather so far a defensive stylist.” walking over to the pensive of ice which held her jewelry Sam pointed to the area next to it and two chairs formed, sitting in one furthest from the pensive Sam motioned her for the other chair.
”Self defense isn’t all about fighting, it’s having the proper mentality in situations that would call for you to react physically or not at all, now if you wouldn’t mind telling me about this fight you were in, I am curious to see how you reacted in the situation and who exactly you fought with.” waiting and listening patiently Sam wondered what kind of situation that could cause a girl like jewel to get into a fight, from what he could tell she was sweet and kind not exactly the fighting type.
Sitting down on the other chair, Jewel was silent for a while, partly because she was thinking about where to start, and partly because it took quite an effort to make the metal covering leave her hands. Once it was off in the form of a pair of simple bracelets, she rubbed her palms together, and looked up at Sam. "Well... um, a couple of days ago my parents visited, and we went out to the City for a walk. I went into a jewelry shop, alone, to look around, and there were these two... mutant girls. Three, actually. You know, Davis, the shop's owner hates our kind, and was daft enough to say so, too. So two of the girls were after him to... teach him a lesson, I guess. One of them has metal limbs and... a strange eye. And claws. The other girl called her Meld. The other one was..." she was silent for a moment or two "Very young. A teenager. But she looked much more... cruel, too. Like a child soldier or something. She had this... pink aura that she could form weapons from..." Telling the story for the second time was not much easier, but Jewel tried to remember all the details she could. "The third one, Audrey, she's a shapeshifter... she tried to stop them, and the tree of them started to fight. I... I've never been in a fight before, not even with... regular people. All I could do was... well, I pulled all the jewelry from the cases, not really for fighting, it was just... my powers reacting to the situation. I got Davis out of the shop before they got to him, that was all I could do. And then.... um, I kind of talked out way out of the fight. Audrey got hurt really bad, but I guess you've already heard about that, I brough her in to the Mansion to heal... I guess that's all." Thinking for a while, she added "Fade and Shawn seem to think the girls... the attackers belong to the Order... whatever that is. Shawn has already talked to the police in my place. You see..." she took a deep breath, here goes nothing "I'm here under court order, I am not alowed to leave the Mansion unescorted. I got into some bad business after my powers manifested. Theft. So, here I am." She smiled a shy smile, her cheeks pink. It will take some time till she'd be comfortable talking about this. "That's why I asked Shawn if I could get some self defense lessons. I felt... really useless, back in the jewelry shop."

Listening intently to Jewel’s words Sam soaked in every word like a sponge as he immediately recognized one of the mutants that she mentioned right off the bat. ”The one with the Pink Aura is well…she told me her name is Aura, I only had a run in with her once but she defiantly isn’t the type to go easy on anyone when a fight is concerned a few members of the mansion had a few run ins with her as well though unlike you they came back a little more injured.” he hadn’t really heard of a meld much and this fact disconcerted him he was defiantly going to need to check into Meld a bit more.
He nodded his head slightly and continued, ”I have been a bit to busy to go meet this Audrey but I have heard a bit about her, and seeing as our healer in the mansion has been one of the best healers I have ever met in my life I wouldn’t sorry to much about her, she should be fine by now if she wasn’t before.” he smiled and stood up and walked towards her, ”Regardless if your under house arrest or not I’m glad you were unharmed, otherwise it would make teaching you a bit harder.”
Giving her a playful wink Sam looked to his clock and said, ”Well you made excellent progress today and I hope that the situation never arises where you will need you use the things I have taught you today or in the future.” he smiled and then continued, ”I teach you to protect yourself and others and if you have to use what I taught you it only means that your in danger, something that I wouldn’t be to happy about.” walking over to Jewel he gave her a slight nod of the head and then headed towards the exit, ”Same time tomorrow for a session alright?” he made it seem like he was asking but he knew that if she truly wanted to get better at defending her self she would be back the next day waiting for him. ”And if not I hope to see you around the mansion soon!”
Jewel nodded at what Sam told her about the healer. "Audrey is fine, I think she already left to go home. I'm glad we have a healer here; I was scared out of my mind when I brought her in..." she added with a slight smile. Weird; back in the car with Audrey badly injured she would've never thought she'd smile about it one day. "And yeah, I'm glad I gout out of the fight the easy way." The session was apparently over; Jewel stood up too, rubbing her wrists before she slipped the bacelets on. She glanced towards the basin with the gemstones in it; they sprang into the air and arranged themselves around the bracelets in a simple pattern. Picking up her bag, she smiled at Sam once again. "Thank you, Sam. See you tomorrow!"
