The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The dream was still fresh in her mind as Raina made her way through the mansion. The feel of the baby in her stomach was like the phantom pain of a missing limb. She knew Luke would do everything he could to be supportive... but really she had to know herself. This wasn't a dream.
She was searching for one of her friends at the mansion, any of them, hell she'd settle for an acquaintance so long as she could see if they had the dream as well. Of course, she hadn't even planned how she'd bring up the subject. But she just had to find out. She'd ask every single person here if she had to.
Though she'd been doing her best to ignore the fact that her power didn't work, she was having more trouble pushing Rupert to the back of her mind. She was now absolutely convinced that their life would have worked out this way if it hadn't been for the damn camps. Of course, that wasn't rational thinking but take a woman's baby away from her and she wont think rationally.

Streak was walking through the mansion lost in his thoughts. Parts of the dream still lingered but most had faded away as soon as he’d woken up. What did they mean? What could they mean? Were they the truth or were they just some elaborate fanciful thing that his brain had made up on him. Either way it stuck with him and it bugged him. Now Streak had never been one to talk much about any dream; however, this one was particularly troublesome. A thought popped into his head. There was one person that he could tell about this. Raina. She was probably one of his closest friends and he knew, or at least he hoped she would have some advice about it.
The silver eyed mutant started to search for her. He looked in the living room. The dining room. Even in the classrooms and the offices. Streak finally found her wandering the hallways. “Hey Raina. How’ve ya been?” Streak asked. He knew that her and Luke were going out but they didn’t talk about that much. Just then the thought occurred to him, How in the world will I bring this up without sounding like I’m whining or something pathetic? He wasn’t trying to sound like that at all. It should only sound like a normal conversation.

Raina nearly walked into Streak in her frenzy. She stopped for a moment seeing his calm figure and felt a bit of relief. "Streaky-poo!" she teased. "Hi!" she got up on her toes and hugged him- he was a bit taller than she was. When she let go she felt familiar and good. Coming back to the mansion, and getting out of Lukes apartment was the right idea.
"Sorry, I'm a bit dazed..." she said "tired from trying to catch up on work here and at the aquarium." she admitted. "Didn't really get a lot of sleep last night, had this crazy dream..." she rambled for a few seconds more
"How about you? I've been so busy I feel like I haven't seen you in ages!"

Streak returned the hug to Raina. The little nickname she'd come up with for him seemed to never cease to put a smile on his face. Raina wasn't the only one that gave him a nickname. Arielle had given him a similar nickname. He wasn't used to that one either. She immediately started talking like they hadn't seen each other in forever. "Really an aquarium? That's cool." Streak said after she paused in her ramblings. "I know. It feels like I haven't see you in a long time."
"I've been busy here at the mansion. Recruiting. Training. Ya know a lot of the X-Men stuff." Streak said. He didn't realize it until he said it, but X-men duties were taking up more of his time than he realized. "Ya I had a weird dream too. How's things goin' with Luke? I assume yall are doin' well cause I haven't see ya here in a while. I can only assume you've been stayin' with him. Am I right?" Streak said. He quickly moved on after saying he had a weird dream also. He didn't want to dwell on it but he thought she'd catch the comment.

Raina nodded "Yeah, the New York Aquarium. I'm actually their main attraction! The real life mermaid." she grinned but in the back of her mind she wondered if she'd even have a job all things considered at the moment. "And I've been staying with Luke... he actually asked me last night if I'd move in." she admitted. She wouldn't go telling that to anyone but she knew she could trust Streak. "I haven't decided yet. I had this crazy dream last night that's making me second guess things. Maybe it's just the stress. The mansion takes up so much of my energy some times." she said in response to his comment about being busy at the mansion.
"So you had a weird dream too?" she said trying to sound somewhat uninterested when really she was waiting with baited breath.

"He did?" Streak was surprised. He didn't think they were that serious. But he was obviously wrong. Wait she hadn't decided yet? Whew. He knew this was a giant step and wasn't something to be taken lightly. It wasn't that he didn't want them to be happy. On the contrary. He was thrilled that Raina had found Luke and they'd become so close. It seemed like things couldn't have been going better for her. He always hoped she'd have good luck, especially after what she was put through in the camps. "It's a big decision." Streak said. "If you're not sure then you should wait until you are sure." he continued giving her, what she may have considered as, big brother worrying advice.
"Ya I did." he said matter-of-factly. "I've been trying to figure out what it means since I woke up from it. Or I've been trying to make sense of what I can remember." Streak said. "So tell me about your dream. It seems yours might have been more disturbing than mine." Streak said. He was genuinely concerned for her. He didn't want her to fret about the little things like dreams. She needed to focus on her life and loving what she's doing.

Raina laughed "that's you. My big little brother." she grinned from ear to ear. Come to think of it... she didnt even know if her big little brother was seeing anyone himself. That wasn't being a good big little sister. She'd have to work on that. Maybe she was paying a little too much attention to Luke.
"Well I guess it's not the end of the world that we both had bad dreams... but mine upset Luke a lot so I guess if you don't mind I may take the opportunity to vent..." she confessed. She spotted an empty soft cushiony bench and she made a dash for it. It was outside one of the offices that wasn't being used- probably for waiting. She waved Shawn over.
"It was weird. A remember bits and piece but I think the reason it was so vivid was because I was... well... I was expecting... uh... a baby." she trailed off a bit. "Crazy right? Well... even crazier I was married to Rupert of all people. And of all things... he was a pastor" she laughed knowing Streak would have encountered Rupert or at least heard of him from the camps, but also in her many conversations about her ex.
"It was like... I was older. Much older. Not like, old lady old... but in my mid thirties or something. I wasn't working here anymore... I was working for some... peace... um... peace?" she couldn't really place it "some peace thing. Anyway, it was all just weird. But since I woke up thinking I was having a baby with Rupert... well I guess as a guy you can imagine what that did to Luke's ego..." she turned a little red and could feel her cheeks burning and the tears threatening to start.
"But... I keep thinking it was more than a dream. In the dream... I could control my mutation. When I got up and had a shower ... I didn't... well I didn't change." she looked down at the floor. "And... I mean... I don't want a baby or anything. But this dream... about being pregnant... it was so... real. I just... I just feel like I'm missing something you know?" she held her tummy "It was just too real for comfort."

"Vent away." He said to her. Streak followed Raina over to an empty cushiony bench and sat down beside her. "Ya crazy." He listened to her. It wasn't often that he was able to talk to Raina. Apparently they were both very busy with their lives. And that was good. But it also prevented them from keeping up to date with them. "I can't even imagine you marrying Rupert. Let alone having a kid with him." Streak didn't want to mess around with her. It was apparently upsetting her and he didn't want to make things were for his little big sis. Streak grimaced a little at the thought of something like that happening to him. "Luke's ego? I think it would mess with more than just his ego. Like his... brain." Did he mean something else? Or did he really mean brain? No one knows.
Streak continued to listen to her. "Interesting." he said as she continued. Streak put his arm around Raina. "I think I know what ya mean. Raina seemed genuinely upset by this dream and it was unerstandable. "It sounds really vivd. I imagine it'd feel like having a miscarrage right now. Expecially with a dream that makes you think it's real. " He was concerned for Raina. Streak had seen his little big sis sort of like this before but he didn't think he'd ever actually seen her in this same state before. "I'm sure talkin' to me has helped your comfort a bit. Right?" He hoped he was right.

Raina felt much better after Streak comforted her "It's just been all.. weird. The whole thing. I mean, I know I'd never in a million years marry Rupert... but I guess I'm afraid... it's like I'm missing someone who never existed... this baby..." she trailed off. "it's a good thing I don't talk to Rupert anymore... I wouldn't want to crawl back to him for the sake of a baby that didn't exist." she shrugged. "I'm happy with Luke, I'm really in love with him." she said sincerely as a discreet bit of blush crossed her cheeks. "but I don't want a stupid dream to mess it all up." she sighed.
"So you had weird dreams too? Did they star an ex as a religious leader? Or were you heading up an organization dedicated to peace?" she laughed mocking her own dream.,

"Ya I did." Streak said. He smiled at her as she started to make funof her own dream. This was a good thing. It meant that she was improving and talking about it wa smaking her feel better. It was like therapy only better... because it was free. No charge no philisopical dorctoal answers that didn't make any sense. Not that his dream made much more sense than hers did.
"I'm not quite sure where to start because I'm not sure where my dream started. I remember being in England for a little while. Like a couple of months a while where I met this mutant chick who did something to me. Whatever she did increased my powers...I... I think. I also remember meeting some people who live here in like the Arctic or Antarctica or was it Australia? I'm obviously not very sure." Streak was just as confused about his dream as she was about hers. Neither had very god details on it but both dreams were very different from each other.
With Raina listening to what he remembered about his dream, Streak hoped that she would be able to provide him with some insight as to what it might mean. He was starting to actualy get an idea of what hers might mean and so he would give his opinoin on hers once she said something about his. Yes it sounded like a you scratch my back I'll scratch your's situation; but it was just two really good friends sharing something that they felt each other coud perhaps give some insight on. Raina was always better at these sort of things than he was, but he'd give it his best shot with interpreting hers.

Raina listened carefully but didn't see any coincidences between her own dream and his. That was a little sad to say the least since she was grasping at straws to make this dream more than a dream. "Hmm I'm not sure," she said at first. "perhaps you feel the need for a power boost? Or you want to be stronger and are unsure so your dream showed you what would happen?" that could make sense. "I dont know about Antarctica..." she laughed "Personally I've had my fill of snow for a while." she grinned thinking of her recent experience in the North.
"I guess our dreams are always just a peek into our subconscious mind... I learned in school that dreams are the doorway between conscious and subconscious and when we're dreaming that door is flipping open."
"Were you thinking of doing some traveling? And... I wonder who the girl was. Did you recognize her?"

"That could be." Streak said as he let what Raina was saying enter into his brain. "That's the weird thing I've never seen the girl befor ein my life. Not even like someone from back home or around here." he started thinking again racking his brain, trying to come up with an answer for her. "I don't think I've been thinking of traveling. There's to much going on that I'm content with to feel the need to travel." It wasn't helping much for him. There wasn't much there for him to go by and get anwers from. He would have to think about what she was saying. Maybe Raina was right and he just didn't realize it yet. Maybe to much time had passed already between this discussion and the dream, and he might never realize what his brain was trying to tell him.
It was his turn to guess about Raina's dream. "I think I have a theory about your dream." Streak began. "Perhaps you love Luke more than you realize. Now I realize that the dream was about Rupert, but maybe that's because he had a really bad effect on you and getting this close to Luke is bringing up memories of when you were with Rupert." Streak paused to take a breath. There were still a few things that he wanted to tell her about her dream. "Therefore because things haven't gone bad with Luke, and knock on wood that they don't, our brain is telling you what could have been if whatever happened between you and Rupert didn't happen." Streak said to her. "Sorry if I'm a little vague on mine but it seems like you remember more about yours than I remember."

Raina listened again while Streak offered more opinion on her dream. "That could be." she admitted. "It just felt... so real. Which I know is such a lame excuse." she laughed "I mean, we all know how easily effected I am by my emotions!" it was true
"You know what's weird about your dream? That you dreampt about someone you didn't know. Our brains don't usually make people up, and when they do you usually can't see them, they're just this ominous presence in our dream. Like, if I was being chased by a 'robber' if my mind didn't make the robber someone I already knew, then I'd probably never actually see the robber. I might literally run away from him and know he's there somewhere... but I wouldn't see him. The fact you interacted with someone you dont know in your dream is very... odd"

"Ya I do know how easily ya let your emotions get the best of you." Streak agreed with her. There wasn't much of a chance that he could ignore that fact. "That's what I thought. I mean, I've had dreams with other people in it. Or even people I know. But I didn't, and still don't know this person. That's what's so weird. Like I knew her likes, favorite music, food, like everything about her but I've never met her. That's what made it so weird as I've now explained." He said. Streak wasn't sure if there was much more that he remembered if he could tell her.
"I don't remember any more of it. That's the only part that stuck with me. Do ya think that it was more than just a dream?" Streak asked they didn't seem to be any closer to determining if what they'd both dreamt about was real or if it was something else. Streak soon started to wonder if there was someone that they should ask about their dreams that would be able to explain everything to them. Or if they were on their own when it came to them understanding what they were telling each other.

"Honestly I feel like it was more than a dream." admitted Raina putting her head in her hand and then raking her fingers through her hair. She paused a moment to let out a sob/sigh and bite her lip. "Talking to you though... it just sounds like we've both got issues." she laughed with a half grin. "I don't know. I don't like how this stuff creeps up on me. I think I'm ok... and then BAM nightmare that scares my boyfriend probably more than me."
she shrugged and lean back in her seat. "I guess I just dont know where to go from here... I mean I wonder... you know... if someone else dreampt of Rupert. I think there were other people in the dream but I didn't really know them. He had this God daughter. We knew her parents. I think he knew them better...."
