The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

IC: Beside the brief touch of his icy shoulder and the few security bodies flying about from their own the fight really hadn’t erupted into a full scale brawl till Sam and the other members of the team made it to the wall. At first it was just he but soon Streak, David, Fade and Ghost had arrived behind him. His arms pressing hard against the ice as he focused on the ice around his arms spin at a rapid rate causing the wall to give way as he continued to fore more and more ice into the wall only to have the drill reach it and cause it to break apart. Having full confidence in the abilities of his teammates Sam pushed trough the last few inches of the wall he found himself in what looked like a storage closet.
Pushing his way through the clutter Sam forced the ice around his arms to shatter, feeling a bit over confident as well he decided to force the ice around the rest of his body. Normally he would seem a bit more cautious but time was of the essence and he had to look confident for his team members. “Streak!” Sam called out as he opened the door of the janitors closet and crouched looking both directions to deem it safe, “We need to find some computers for David, you said you have been here before I need you to get us there!” looking to David Sam nodded his head slightly, “judging by the effects of the Haywire virus I can only assume it has high levels of security around it, find out where a large portion of security is and we will start there!”
His gaze turned down to one side of the hallway and then down the other direction two-way hallway that comes to a ‘T’ on both sides. Sam wasn’t exactly sure where he even should start to go, if Streak didn’t know where to go he would just have Ghost and Fade scout out the area as fast as possible, not to mention that Streak could phase through walls as well. Despite the situation he was happy he chose the people that he did to come with him and David to find the virus, their powers were ideal for scouting.
The low buzz of the dual rows of florescent bulbs lit up the pathway to the ends of the hallways. Other than a few doors scattered through out the large hallway Sam had no idea where to go. “Fade and Ghost along with myself, will make sure no harm comes to David, I want him at a monitor as fast as possible!” looking back to Streak and looking around he said simply, “Streak lead the way!”
The fight outside was really picking up, people he knew, on both sides, were going at it, but he wasn't sure who to root for. He knew Meld and Aura were on the opposing side, and probably doing whatever they could to stop them from completing their mission, but then again they are currently fighting someone who tried to arrest David. It didn't matter though, because the problem was solved when David was suddenly blown up and past the fighters. Landing a little uneasily he wasn't sure what the next step would be, not until Cold Steel took the initiative to break in.
David stared as CS drilled an actual whole through the wall, much easier entrance then trying to fight through the front door. He ducked into the closet, his adrenaline now pumping, as Cs started giving out orders. "Umm Cold Steel, I'm going to need to get to a specific security office. The office is what monitors the research area and has access to any data regarding it. They keep it on a secured network, separate from the rest, so that it can't be hacked into remotely."
David realized at this point he was starting to babble, giving information that the man probably didn't need. "I need to actually be there, but I did download where the office is, and it's not too far from where we just entered." He wasn't going to tell them that he wasn't totally sure the location, but everyone else seemed completely confident, and through deductive reasoning David was sure this was the right spot. "We need to turn right." He said poking his head into the hallway.
With his bird's eye view of everything happening on the battlefield outside from his spot on the second floor of the KP building (it has a second floor right), Shade could see the X-men's attack plan. While a large group distracted some of the Order's members outside along with the guards, another group was busting in through one of the walls. Well, Shade would just have to stop that wouldn't he. He quickly entered one of the many laboratories located in the complex and hit the switch, killing the brights overhead. The little light that did manage to enter through the door's window was not enough to keep Shade from vanishing. Reaching out for another shadow, the closest one he could find was a janitor's closet near the front door.
'Jumping' into it, the shadow mutant reached for the door, locked and no manual switch either. Taking a step back, Shade kicked hard against the door, trying to shatter the wall holding the lock. However, it didn't give. Great! Here, he was with a battle raging on outside, and he couldn't get out of the closet (literally speaking of course). However, with another swift kick, the wall splintered into pieces. The shadow mutant stepped out, his long cloak flowing behind me. He was rather surprised, although still overjoyed, to see two other Order members standing in front of him. An evil smirk crossed his face at the sight though.
"It appeared are X-men friends don't want to play with us today. They're going through the wall instead. Want to go find them?" Shade said with a chuckle, his eyes traveling between the two women in front of them as he innocently pointed in the direction the X-men were entering from.

Mettaliar rushed around the crowd. The amount of guards and mutants he had to run past was growing by the second and Mettaliar feared being spotted. He kept his eyes looking toward the building, figuring if anyone spotted him they would likely follow. At the very least it would isolate someone away from the brawl and possibly help the X-Man get to the gate. He figured some of the X-Men would break through anyway, yet it was always nice to help any way he could. He wanted to turn his head and see what was going on yet he kept his focus on his destination. He ducked low passing around the sides and ran around the corner and stopped before the first window.
Kneeling down, he figured there was no back door. He had to go through the window, which meant breaking it. He was scared of giving away his position, but he had no other choice. He had to get in there. Hopefully, if he were lucky, he might be able to sneak in before the X-Men could. As much as his main concern that Haywire be eliminated no matter what, he had a personal vendetta against it all. He wanted to end it himself. He needed to end it all himself. While he knew that that wasn't the mindset of an X-Men hopeful, he figured that until he truly became an X-Men he wouldn't worry about it. This wasn't a commonality in him. This certain circumstance brought out everything in him though. any courage, desire, need to charge. It was all out there now. All ready to end this and put his mind at ease.
First, he needed to get inside. It wouldn't be easy. Getting inside might bring unwanted resistance. Some even stronger than him, possibly. He didn't care. He'd get in and fight. If he couldn't make it to Haywire, he'd die trying. His mindset blocked out any conscious thought of interfering with possibly more qualified individuals. Screw them. Even if he got in and fought his way, his knowledge of the place was limited. He didn't know where everything was and running around in a goose-hunt was dangerous. Thinking his plan through, some of it would require a lot of luck. Luckily, he'd find the laboratory. Luckily, he'd be able to destroy it. Luckily, he would come out alive in the end. Mettaliar shook the thoughts from his head. All that was in advance and would be dealt with when time called for it. First, he needed to get inside.
Leaning against the wall, he slowly walked his way to the window. If he just busted into a room full of people, his mission wouldn't last long. He needed to play this smart, not try to be a hero beyond what his goal intended. He peered in slowly and quickly pulled back. A figure moved around in the room. Taking a slow second glance, the figure was an employee of some kind getting her stuff to leave. Figuring it would take time, Mettaliar decided not to wait. Ducking, he duck-walked under the window and quickly moved to the second window and peered in. Nothing. He took a better look to confirm that no one was inside the room. Perfect; this is where he would enter. Moving back, he formed a large, heavy block of wood and looked at the window. He would have to move in fast. Grabbing the window pane, he quickly gave himself and quick three-count before chucking the block through the window, smashing the glass and opening the way. Mettaliar wasted no time climbing in and crouching in the room. He was in King Pharmaceuticals.
Forming a little cylinder of wood, he quickly held it to his back and moved to the doorway. The cylinder would become his staff if trouble were to arise and he would need to fight. He peered around the door and saw no one. It seemed quiet. Mettaliar didn't want to move, yet felt if he waited he'd be a sitting duck in an oncoming bear trap. He slowly moved out of the room and into the hallway. On a perpendicular hallway, Mettaliar stopped again. He heard noises. Unsure of what they were, Mettaliar slowly peered around it. He saw no one. Yet. He knew people were close. Whether or not they were friends or foe would have to wait. Mettaliar decided to try and figure out where to go. He still felt he had no idea where to go. Shaking his head, he stayed knelt down and froze there. Stay or move? He had to make a choice quick. Freezing would let him set himself up yet leave him sitting there. Moving might just make him walk a maze over and over to try and find what he was looking for. He decided that the spot where noises were coming from was a bad start. He moved to the opposite end of the hallway and knelt down. The sounds of voices were far away. Good. At least for now.
Mettaliar checked to see if there were any sentries and, seeing none, ran across the hallway and got low. He had to sneak through. He couldn't cause much noise. He moved down the hallways slowly and quietly, making sure no one was following him. He knelt when he got to the end and stopped. He needed to wait and try to figure out where to go next. Since no one was in the immediate area, so he thought, he felt it was a good place to hold out for a brief time. His breathing grew shorter, doing his best not to make any noises to attract his attention. He needed to think and figure out where things would be. Either that or wait for someone that would help him, either voluntarily or by force. It didn't matter at this point. He needed the information and fast.

Streak waited patiently as Sam created a door for their little team to go through. Making this door was so much easier than going through the one blockaded by unfriendly mutants. Once they were inside the janitor’s room Sam was once again giving orders. However, to Streak, it sounded more like he was giving command of them to him. He could lead or follow it didn’t really matter to Streak. The silver mutant pulled the blades that he’d created earlier for a fight back so that they didn’t hinder him when he was searching the rooms.
David thankfully knew where he needed to go. Even if he didn’t head in the right direction it would be a starting point for them and this starting point was better than still being stuck outside and unable to get in. When David headed right Streak followed getting ahead of him. David thing was computers, and as far as he knew, not fighting. Streak would take point and lead them to the terminal that David needed. This would also prevent any attacks from taking out David and leaving them, for lack of a better word, blind. Streak reached the end of the hallway where the T was. He looked left and right. This was mainly to see if anyone was coming towards them. No one was. So far so good. He thought. Streak didn’t want to say much. He wanted to keep as much stealth as possible so instead of saying, ‘We’re goin’ left.’ He raised his left hand and pointed down that direction of the hallway.
The silver mutant then headed that direction. Since he was leading them he figure that he didn’t need to check and make sure that they were following him. They all knew what was at steak here and they all knew what needed to be done. He was confident that this was the best possible combination of people he could have used in this situation. Streak had complete faith in Sam’s abilities, having trained with him many times, and knew what Sam was capable of. Fade and Ghost’s powers were a little more unfamiliar to him, as well as how well they acted in battle. So far both were fairing very well and that made him happy. David was the enigma. At this moment Streak didn’t think that he could possibly know less about someone. It wasn’t something that he was particularly happy about; however, he had a general warm and fuzzy feeling with the group he was with. Thus far no one had come upon them. Unfortunately, in the back of his mind, he knew that their high flying acrobatics put on by Ghost couldn’t have gone on unnoticed. All they had to do was stay in one spot long enough to be found by whoever was looking.
Lori moved her hand out of reach of the other. The place on her wrist that had been scratched was reddish and raw, just this side of bleeding, and she hadn't really noticed. The scratching was something to focus on rather than feeling her general discomfort. She took her time glancing up to the girl who had approached and only made a small inclination of her head to acknowledge that anything was said to her at all. Isabel. Bone Mistress. She had heard the name from Jacen and Mars, among others at the Sanctuary. She had seen the girl from afar, on TV actually when she went through the NYPD to help Bane exit her smoldering apartment. Funny that in all the time she lived at the Sanctuary they had never met, but now when Lori reluctantly followed along with the Order, she appeared.
A thought passed behind Lori's eyes and she opened her mouth to ask about Bane when a loud clattering sounded somewhere down the hallway. Lori's mouth clapped shut and she inclined a single eyebrow and stood without using her arms. She may as well have remained sitting. Isabel was beastly tall. A good half a foot taller, probably more. Lori frowned, still inspecting Isabel's height. "Sounds like the trash needs to be taken out." On second inspection, some of her height could be attributed to that ridiculous bow. The thought cheered her somewhat.
Canvas chucks made very little noise on the carpet, but Lori was no ambusher. She walked heavily and put very little thought into any attempt at stealth. Neither, apparently, did they. Walking at a fair pace, Lori could hear their militaristic command shouts near the end of the hall, just around a blind corner.
She also heard a softer crash of a window. Which to bother? The large group or the second who had just come through a window? Her gut said she'd get to hurt more people if she followed the large group. And she wanted to hurt someone. Besides, beyond the initial window breaking sound, she had heard nothing to help direct her in the direction of the second intruding group. The larger group's lack of stealth was much more inviting.
Isabel could do as she pleased, Lori stepped calmly around the corner just in time to see something disappear down the hall and to the right. Bleh. She trotted to catch up and again they were disappearing around a left corner this time. Were they supposed to keep the building in tact? No one bothered to explain the rules clearly to Lori so she focused on an area far enough ahead of the group that when the pipes in the ceiling came down it would hopefully fall in front of them or on them. It probably wasn't enough metal to actually bar anyone's way, but hopefully the action was enough to turn their attention on to the little bit of blonde at the end of the hall.
Fade do this, Fade do that, quick Fade, get your head out of your ass, Fade listen to me, Fade listen to him, Fade protect him, Fade go scouting, FADE! It was all very confusing. So many different orders were being barked. Left, left, left right left, keep those confused little waddling ducks together. First off, Fade had no clue why the X's insisted on creating their own door when the phasers could easily just phase through and unlock something. Nope, instead they seemed to just charge in, guns ablazin'. Lucky there were so many X's to help out because they had called everyone to their attention.
Sam was the first to take the lead, of course, just as he had earlier. Then he passed the torch to Streak and told Fade to protect David, who seemed to be telling them where to go too. What the hell was going on? The last time she had entered KP, she was in charge of herself because she was alone. Being the queen of stealth, she darted around, quite undetected and she reached Jacqueline with ease. Now they were running around in circles. Since she had spent most of her life in stealth, she knew that they way they were carrying themselves would get them caught rather quickly.
In order to keep herself in stealth mode and give herself an advantage against the enemy, she remained invisible. Deciding that it was best to inform her team that she was there with them, she simply spoke outloud, just once "Hey, Fade here, I'm still with you guys, even if you don't see me," she called. Honestly, she could pass off as someone's conscience.
While they rounded a few corners, Fade found it best to climb on the ceiling, this way she would not be seen by infrared cameras and she remained undetected. Phasing her claws into the wall, she crawled around like a spider, following every step David made, she was going to protect him first, they needed that information. The X-Men were a team, but with all of the orders being barked out, a team is not that much if they're being ordered to do stuff. The last battle she had fought, everyone understood their role, they weren't told to do it, but they would help out when they were needed. Fade was best at going ahead, she wasn't directed how to get there or watched or anything, but she was trusted to do it. On the team, they needed more trust in each other, David needed to direct where to go to get his information. With all of the leaders and Fade just a follower, she decided to stick with David and help the others when needed, but for now, his mutation was vital to their mission.
Just as she had feared about the whole not that sneaky factor, the ceiling she had been climbing on gave way. Quickly moving, she let go of the ceiling and dropped to the ground just in time to phase through the pipes that came crashing down on her. In truth, Fade did not want to be right that time, but they had been caught. Stepping out of the wreck, she turned solid, while still invisible and looked down the hall to see a blonde girl. Obviously, she did not want the X-Men heading that way.
To their luck, the blonde had managed to separate the group. David and Ghost were on the side away from the blonde and Fade had the honor of being the one the pipes crashed on. Fantastic. After she had determined that Ghost and David needed her more, she phased back through the wreck and met up with them. "OK, David, where now?" she asked, still invisible.
Ghost tried to move Fade without comment. Sure, she had all the right words, but it sure had seemed like her attacking Calley was personal. It was only her willingness to let go when asked that convinced Ghost that the girl wasn't hopeless. Sam did his thing at the wall and then they were all crammed into a janitor's closet. They were wasting time getting organized. The longer they took time inside, destroying the sample, the longer people outside would fight. Ghost had friends on both sides of this battle so the sooner they could end this, the better.
"You gonna let the man lead?" Ghost grinned at CS and passed a less than solid hand across his back. It seemed hard for the ice man to let go sometimes. David took point, direction their actions and Fade, SilverStreak and herself took defensive positions beside and above while Cold Steel took up the Caboose, an equally dangerous position. Apparently they had each had enough Danger Room time to know what those orders meant. Good to know.
"Mind if I speed things up a little?" She was feeling anxious. Sure, they were being cautious, but it was making them move slowly through the hallways. Before Ghost got any sort of answer, she started summoning a wind strong enough to pick David up. Good thing too because someone decided to make their presence known by pulling a part of the ceiling down. Fade was too insubstantial to save, apparently saving herself, but David was not a phaser.
Ghost used the gust of wind to push him far enough on the other side of the falling pipes so that he would not get hurt. Ghost seeped through the rubble and also appeared on the other side. "Let's keep going. SilverStreak can phase through and ColdSteel should be able to handle himself against a single mutant." It wasn't like her to be impatient, but this was dangerous stuff. She would do just about anything to keep them moving. Anything to finish the job sooner. Ghost urged David forward. "Point the way." and they were off again much faster than walking with her wind at their back. And once they found the door? She'd blow it down! Or maybe Fade would slip in and unlock it for them... yes, less messy that way.
Much to Isabel's displeasure the X-Nerds seemed to want to play by their own rules and make their own entrance into the building, rather than crashing through the front as she would have liked. Leave it to the Goodies to muck everything up. Heaving a sigh she simply cast a seemingly uninterested look toward the corridor she had just exited as the sound of crumbling cement echoed through the confined space, one of the Order members showing up soon after to confirm the fact that the X's had been able to break in. She paid little mind to the petite blond that stood and headed off in the direction the intruders had gone. So long as she planned to get a head start on the fools that had thought themselves strong enough to go up against those in the Order that were inside, Isabel would stay behind for a little longer and make things more difficult for those that were still outside the building. "I'll catch up," was the only reply she gave to the shadowy mutant before turning her attention back to the view of KP's grounds.
With a smug little grin she wiggled her toes against the ivory grains that had been spread across the floor, a playful little ripple shivering through them as she tested her control over the width of the area. She may not be able to prevent any more X's from gaining entry completely, but she could certainly make it much more difficult for them. One or two more testing ripples and she set to work melding the little pieces of bone together and pushing them closer to the windows and doors, stepping closer every few moments as she worked. With only momentary initial caution she soon forced the melding bone up the front section of the first floor wall and toward the ceiling, forming a wall to block off all possible entry points and proceeding to add several more layers to the large sheet of bone and hardening it as much as she possibly could, making sure that it could rival even condensed steel.
A moment to pause was taken as any nearby grains were reabsorbed into her body to help make up for any extra bone she'd used in forming her barrier. She'd made shields before, but nothing quite to this magnitude, so she wanted to be cautious and pace herself a bit to keep from winding herself too badly. When she was sure she wouldn't be having any seriously draining side-effect from her most recent trick, she resumed her work, quickly closing the distance between herself and the inches-thick wall. Placing her hands against the smooth surface, she set the next step of her plan into action, gradually adding more bone from her body to the wall so as not to compromise it's strength too much.
Grinning widely despite the danger she knew she could be putting her companions into as well as her intended targets, she shifted the wall. In rapid succession spines erupted across the surface of the barrier on both the interior as well as the exterior, remaining stiff only for a moment before snaking their way into the ceiling and floor of the lobby as well as smashing through the windows and door and burying themselves into the ground outside. Tiles and pipes inside were up-heaved and disturbed as the vine-like spines wormed their way through the upper and lower portions of the lobby in an attempt to further reinforce the erected wall. Those in the ground outside buried their way through the earth, churning dirt under the mutants' feet and sporadically forcing their way skyward in an attempt to skewer any enemy that was unlucky enough to be a little too close. Others were kept closer to the building, curling and twisting into a tangled mess against the front of the building in an effort to stop anyone else from breaking through the walls. Isabel only hoped her companions would be able to move quickly enough to avoid any serious damage.
With one last touch of barbing each of the spines that had emerged from her barrier, she allowed her assault to fizzle to a halt as she broke contact and once again gave herself a moment to regain her composure and reform any weakened spots in the armor she had created for herself. She would leave those outside to their own devices from then on as she turned back toward the corridor that Lori had disappeared down. She'd turn her attention back toward those that were already inside and she'd show them just how big of a mistake they had made in doing so. There was just the issue of locating them. There were numerous hallways and rooms throughout KP on just a single floor, nevermind those above and below the main level. And seeing as Lori had gone one way, she'd head in the opposite direction. It would make little sense to follow after the blond and risk getting in the way when she'd have a chance of cutting off the fools that had gotten inside.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.

As they rounded another corner Sam didn’t voice any complaints about taking the rear, in fact he had preferred the rear in this particular group, other than Ghost his mutation was the only one that could come up with a wide enough defense to protect from projectiles or possible pursuers if he should sense them before they struck. David and Streak apparently knew where to go which only meant they would save more time in search for the haywire virus. Watching Fade go invisible and then voice she was still there Sam nodded and added, “Just keep an eye on David.” Fade would be the perfect escort for this particular case should the team gets separated. What better way to protect against attackers if the guard is invisible?
As sense of fear struck his limbs as he felt the ground shake slightly as the ceiling decided to cave over them. Spotting that Ghost had David and that both fade and Streak could phase without so much as a twitch Sam jumped backwards only further separating the two. As he looked to Streak by his side he called out to Ghost, and David, “Are you guys all right?” as he looked at the metal in front of him he leaned and listened hearing Ghost’s and Fade’s voices knowing that they were both safe seeing as there wasn’t a large amount of urgency in their voices, not to mention that he could see small glimpses of them through the piping.
Turning his attention to the shorter blonde haired woman who was walking towards them Sam had a weird flashback, same face, same hair, he defiantly met this woman before... not necessarily a where but more of a when, like a long forgotten memory the image of the cheerleader with piercing blue eyes and light blond hair in a ponytail with the cigarette in her mouth. Bleach white sneakers, large stuffed rabbit filled with drugs, her name what was her name it was on the tip of his tongue yet he couldn’t remember it, the face however was one he committed to memory long ago on that hiking trail to the cabin, he broke the rules back then and let her live the face that he told himself never to forget.
The ground shook again this time more intense almost throwing Sam off balance, out of a reaction his body iced up as he tried to keep his balance and turn his attention to the nameless woman from his past. She looked a bit older but relatively the same, black tee shirt and shorts reminding him so much of the cheerleading outfit he first saw her in. his eyes trailed to her wrist as he noticed a small red spot on it.
Sighing slightly relieved as he stood up once the shaking stopped Sam stood up to his normal height and powered down his ice causing it to shatter and fall to the ground where it would slowly melt, “Good to see you are well, Cheerleader” he said hoping she could remember the small scared little assassin that he was when they first met. He didn’t want to fight her in fact he wanted the exact opposite if it wasn’t for the current situation he would have preferred to stop and chat after all the nameless woman did save his life. Turning his head slightly he told Streak, “I know her, I’ll be fine…catch up to Ghost and the others…”
Mettaliar nearly jumped when he heard the sound of pipes and debris collapsing in the hallway next to his. He froze in place and looked around him to make sure that nothing had blocked his paths or if anyone was coming closer to his position. Seeing nothing and no one, he sighed and leaned back, trying to hear the conversation going on a hall over. Through the clutter he could distinctly hear the voice of Sam and grinned to himself. At least he wasn't in this alone. Since he seemed to be calling out to others, Mettaliar assumed he had a team with him as well. This relieved while also concerned him. Relieved that others besides himself had gotten in and could help, concerned over what the Hell could have happened over there. If anyone was hurt, or worse, that would only hurt any sort of support that they had. Worse, it meant that anyone that he knew at the mansion could be stuck under a heap of rubble.
Mettaliar felt compelled to help, yet had to decide which was to go. He looked left and right, his mind racing over how to approach the situation Hearing how Sam's voice seemed to be coming from the right side, Mettaliar figured heading that way would lead him towards Sam. Mettaliar remembered how Sam seemed to be wise and strong from what he remembered training with him back in the Danger Room, and certainly Mettaliar seemed to be only holding Sam back at the time. Assuming people on the other side might be in need of more assistance than Sam, Mettaliar moved slowly while crouching over to the other end of the hallway, stopping to peer around the corner to see if any of the other X-Men were in plain view. He couldn't see any known X-Men, yet someone else did catch his eye and prevented him from moving immediately.
A girl. Well, not really a girl; she looked old enough to be considered an adult female. Yet, her outfit struck him as... odd. Who was this person? It definitely didn't LOOK like anyone he had seen at the mansion. In fact, the sudden matter that came out of the room behind her, seemingly where she came out of, gave Mettaliar the impression that she really wasn't someone to attract the attention of. However, her presence seemed to be blocking off two important goals he had in mind. First, the hallway next to his, where any X-Men or fellow ally could be stuck or alone in. Second, a hallway across and to the center, possibly leading to a room or a stairway. Mettaliar shook his head. Looks like he had no other choice but to attract attention and hope she wouldn't give chase. What was sad was Mettaliar than had to decide what to do. Should he go and check on the X-Men a corridor over? Or should he make a dash and go after the hallway to advance his way through. Both had their pros and cons, and Mettaliar returned to his hiding position behind the wall while he considered the decision.
Mettaliar made his decision and shook his head sighing. He might regret it later but at this time it was essential for him to keep moving forward. If he went to the corridor next to him, he might be caught up in a fight he didn't want. As much as he was for saving people and being a hero, he had set it in his mind that, no matter what, he needed to keep going and destroy Haywire. No matter the cost No matter... No. I can't so it. Not like this. His conscious fought with him and caused him to make a pained expression on his face. I have to help. But... I got it! Mettaliar's face returned to his normal expression as he returned crouching on one knee, prepared to run. He had a plan, all he prayed was that it worked.
Before he went through with it, he formed a small shield in his arm and reached down to his belt, aligned all around with throwing knives, spaced only with a sword sheath right on the belt buckle for his custom sword. He shook his head at what he was going to do. Something in the back of his mind told him not to go through with his plan and just run straight across. He sighed to himself and clutched one of the throwing knives around his belt. He pulled it up slowly and placed the blade in between his fingers. I have to. For the sake of everyone, I have to make myself a target. At least I'll be able to let someone destroy the forsaken poison for mutants. Haywire.
Deciding it was time he leaped out and threw the knife in the direction of the woman. Friend or foe, he may not know. All he could tell was she was causing him to sit still. That was not an option. Upon throwing the knife he quickly stepped with one of his legs and propelled himself down the corridor. He held his shielded arm up in front of him and charged forward. His hood still up, it prevented him from eying down the corridor at anyone. That was not his plan. His plan was to merely drag attention away from the group. To draw attention to him. And run. Run and make sure any foe gave choice. He would accomplish two tasks with one gameplan and help everyone. Hopefully. His mind tried to block out any sort of doubt, as hard as it was. He turned the corner and ran down the other corridor, not knowing whether or not the woman was hurt or affected at all. He just wanted to keep moving. Moving toward Haywire and to the end of this all.
David cautiously moved about, not sure what could be next. Their destination was getting closer, and the team was apparently in their own defensive formation, "Wow" David thought "These guys really know what they're doing." He peered down the hallway, doing mental calculations as they walked, "Down this hall, were almost there." He said, and suddenly Ghost made a comment about speeding things up. David was about to respond when he felt himself get picked up "Ack!" He said in a surprised tone, suddenly the building seemed to fall apart, and David ended up on the other side with Ghost.
"Wow, thanks." He siad standing up and inspecting the damage "What the hell could've caused that?" His question was answered as he looked down the hall and caught a glimpse and another girl. "Yeah I'm fine." He started trying to tilt his head in order to get a better look at them, but Fade and ghost seemed to want to continue on. Daivd turned to them and simply gave nod before jogging down the rest of the hall, pausing for a moment he spoke up to the others "Just to the right here." He said opening a pair of double doors and heading down a new hall. He stopped in front of a large reinforced door with a keypad next to it. "Ok through here is a short, narrow, reinforced hallway ending in another large steel door, it leads into the security office. They probably have cameras in the hall so they will be waiting." He told the two.
Without any outward signs of being in any sort of rush, Isabel prowled through the hallways on moderately high alert. It was easy enough to hear all the commotion that Lori and the group of intruders were creating, and as such it was relatively simple to figure out which way she would need to travel in order to circle around the group and come up on their unobstructed side while Lori blocked the opposite path. It wouldn't do much good attacking the group from one side, giving them an open route for a retreat if they found it necessary. Boxing them in and crushing them from each side was much more appealing and would doubtlessly be a more effective maneuver.
Every now and again she would test her footing against the ground as she maneuvered down the corridors, occasional little ripples spreading outward from her bare feet as she tread across the fractions of bone that she had littered across the floor. Occasionally more shards were deposited across the otherwise smooth surface when she was not quite satisfied with the amount of disturbance she was able to cause, ensuring that she'd be able to deal a decent amount of damage to anyone that crossed her should she find it necessary to double back. Had her companions not been occupying the ground floor along with her she figured she could have handled their little rodent infestation much more quickly. However, since that was not the case she would need to rely on more inventive methods.
A brief flash of movement caught her attention out of the corner of her eye as she progressed down another corridor, causing her to pause a moment and turn her attention in the direction the brief flash had seemed to come from. Unfortunately any source of movement seemed to have either disappeared or had been an invention of her mind as it anticipated running into the X-Nerds. Any movement that she had continued absentmindedly creating with her contact against the ivory debris that lay on the floor ceased as she settled into stillness. Gradually her level of alertness was rising as she scanned the relatively close confines of the corridor, making sure to double check the path she had just taken as well as the space that lay ahead of her.
Just as she was preparing to continue on her way, satisfied with the lack of further movement, the source of her momentary distraction revealed itself in a sudden burst. Reflexively one hand was brought up in an attempt to deflect the object that sped ahead of the individual that had turned the corner so quickly, regret quickly following her action as the something cut into her flesh. Gritting her teeth, she brought her arm back after its arc, turning to identify to offending object as it clattered down the hallway. She didn't have long to dwell on the knife as its owner barreled down the hallway toward her only long enough to reach the nearest connecting hallway before turning. In preparation for an impact that didn't come, she had nearly flattened herself against the wall, simply watching for a moment as the figure retreated and turned another corner.
Turning her attention back to her arm, Isabel tentatively prodded at the sliced length of flesh that ran from her lower palm down a short distance of arm, just off side of her wrist. Quickly she threaded a thin strand of bone over the laceration, closing the flesh and hopefully saving her from any excess blood loss. "You are so dead!" she called after the unknown individual that had fled, wasting little time in allowing her injury to fall out of focus and to take off after the intruder. She wasn't going to let him get away from her so easily.
Sprinting the length of the corridor he'd disappeared down and turning where she'd seen him turn, she once again made use of the crumbled bone that she'd left on the floor, sending more ripples out ahead of her in an attempt to make the intruder's footing uneven and his retreat more difficult. She knew enough of her location to judge that she wasn't near enough to the larger group of intruders to risk putting her companion in harm's way, and as such she would waste very little energy on being cautious. Rapidly the ripples spread in closer succession before shifting into spines, much like those in the lobby had done. With the head start that the stranger had gotten, it would take a little work to catch up to him without any interruptions. This way she could hope to injure him before catching him. Quickly the spines filled the corridor and continued to spread, piercing floor, ceiling and walls alike and hopefully eventually catching flesh as well.
Isabel continued to advance even as she attempted to slow down her foe, any obstructing sections of bone bending or melting away as she approached, allowing her to pass before filling back in behind her. She would leave them all in place, rather than reabsorbing them in order to hinder the progress of any other intruders as they navigated the hallways. She was also making an attempt to skewer anyone that was traveling before her and halt their progress all together.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.

Streak fell back a bit and let David take over. They all continued to head through the hallway. David knew more about where he was going and Streak was more intereseted in fighting someone, since he didn't get to fight anyone outside. Suddenl someone decided to drop the roof on them. It took the by surprise. Thanfully Ghost had already picked up David and gotten him through that point when the pipes collapsed. It was no acident and that was apparent. Although, with dozens of mutants in and out of the building anyone could have brought it down. One thing was for sure.
It wasn't one of their guys. Ghost, Fade and David had all gotten to the other side of the pipes without any harm done to them. Awesome. Streak could get through; however, he didn't want to leave Sam to fight alone unless he was sure that he could handle it. There was a girl there. She was short but old enough to be around the two X-Men's age. Streak glanced at Sam right before Sam spoke up.
“I know her, I’ll be fine…catch up to Ghost and the others…”
"Why is it that every girl you know seems to be evil?" Streak quipped before turning around and walking thought the pipes. Streak joined up with the rest of the team on the other side of the pipes. "Sam's fine he'll catch up. Let's keep going." Streak said as soon as he was standing next to them. Streak didn't doiubt Sam and they needed to find the virus and destroy it as soon as they can.
Mettaliar moved faster down the hallways as he started hearing the sounds of footsteps behind him. Someone at least had given chase. Mettaliar considered for a second to check behind him to see who was following yet decided against it as his hood would make it unnecessarily harder for him to get a good view if it was the girl in the out-of-place attire or not. It didn't matter. If any sort of distraction to the X-Men could be taken out of the picture, he would happily take on whoever it was. All he had to do was keep running. Run as far as possible and try to let him be the target. While he wanted to take out Haywire itself, he knew that taking out others for his own selfish grudge was not the way to go. He needed to make sure he could do what he could to make sure whoever was the lucky soul to finally take out that damned virus had a less challenging time doing it.
Mettaliar only realized what dangers he could be getting into when seemingly ripples came across the ground. Mettaliar looked down and was confused. The Hell? Suddenly he realized that his footing was becoming lost as his speed decreased. He was still able to keep his balance yet his footing was getting worse and worse with every step. He began to feel himself leaning forward trying to keep himself upright; sure sign that eventually you were going down. Mettaliar tried his best to keep himself at least moving, at least going forward and leading the pursuer away from others.
Suddenly he began to hear things rise up from behind him. Mettaliar tried to turn around out of shock, however that left him sprawling on the ground and rolling backwards. He recovered on one knee and looked up only to see the ground in front of him begin to spike up. Spikes shot up from all around: ceiling, walls AND floor. Mettaliar's eyes widened as he realized there was nowhere to go. At the rate the spikes were coming he knew he couldn't get up and outrun them. He'd have to stand and hold his ground this time. The woman had won this round.
Mettaliar's breath began to quicken as he tried to figure out what to do. Once the spikes came, he would have to position himself to not get hurt. He widened his shield with wood and quickly lifted himself up on that arm, hoping the shield would hold. He also let one leg up and above his body. While someone viewing might find the position he were in to be quite laughable, it was the first thing he could think of to dodge as many spikes as he could. When they came, they hit hard. Some of the spikes had broken through the wooden part of the shield and went up into the back of his arm. Another shot up and caught the lower calf of his downed leg. Both sensations cause Mettaliar to grunt in pain. He closed his eyes and grit his teeth as the wave of spikes went around him.
When they passed by completely, Mettaliar got up and tried to stand among the spikes. Removing his arm and leg was painful yet doable. He stood up and checked his arm and leg via feeling them to make sure that the spike didn't hit something dangerous. After agreeing with his conscious that he was fine. He stood up and looked at the girl. No matter how many times he saw her, he dress still seemed out of place. He shook his head and decided to speak. He left his hood up and stared down at the girls eyes. "You caught me, what do you want? Mind showing me to haywire like a good little girl?"
