The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

To be perfectly honest, Audrey didn't care whatsoever that they,d beaten her. She didn't care losing, as long as the Human was safe, which he was, thanks to the Jewelry-Manipulating woman. Sighing as the two women who were definitely against Audrey spoke, she couldn't help but wonder: Did I really choose the right city to study in? Could I have kept myself away from all the drama by staying away from here? It was hard to think in this situation, but as she continued to listen to the Anti-Humans, she could answer. Yes Audrey, you did choose the right City. You belong here more then you ever could have belonged in Louisiana. Your job is to help the Humans, and try to make peace.
At least this was all over. Or so, Audrey thought. "Thanks." was all she said as the Jewelry woman helped her to her feet. "Before you two go know this, I wantched as the humans cut down my friends, as i pried my best friends severd arm from her blade to end the life of my dieing master, i will not allow such horrors to go on, and they all start with people like the shop keeper running this place." Aura said, though right now, Audrey was losing so much blood, her head was spinning, Very slowly, she felt herself getting dizzier and dizzier. "I don't want to argue anymore. Everyone has different views, but that doesn't mean I'll stand for all this slaughter." was all she had the strength to say.
With one last glance at Jewel, and then a glare at the two women before them, it was all over for Audrey. Before she knew it, the floor was coming up to greet her. The glass-covered floor with her blood splattered all over the place. A lot of blood, it was too much blood. Hopefully this was truly over, and the two Anti-Humans wouldn't hurt Jewel. With so much Blood Loss, Audrey had fainted, out-cold. She really needed help, and fast.

Meld felt a little dissapointed that things had to end so quickly but when she stopped to think about it she knew that the others were correct. Even if their human human target had escaped, with the help of the other two girls, they had made their point loud and clear. As mutants they were not going to stand for the hatred and discrimination. They were going to stand up for themselves and prove exactly why they were the superior race.
"You are not the only one who's been used by humans," Meld told the jewel controller. "I was used as well, and in more dangerous and volitile situations than minor theaft." Of course, she hadn't been used so much as offered her services and gifts for a price to the highest bidder, but when she eventually did deciede to leave her life of crime they had sent someone after her to try and kill her. Another mutant and it wasn't the first time either. "You should consider exactly what they forced you to do and think long and hard about your position when it comes to humans. Is it really worth it to defend them? Are they really worth defending? I think if you truly consider these things you will discover that the answer to both of these questions is no."
Meld turned and began gathering whatever jewels were not centered around the jewel controlling mutant, though she was careful not to take her eyes completely off of her enemies. They might claim that they weren't going to do anything else to them but that didn't mean that they could actually be trusted not to. When the mutant Meld had cut fell to the ground she was torn about what to do. On one hand she had prevented her and Aura from killing their target but on the other she had only been doing what she thought was right and she was still a mutant despite her niave logic.
With a heavy sigh Meld began approaching the fallen mutant, hands up in a gesture of peace. "As much as I resent your actions here today," she spoke to the pretty mutant, "you are both still mutants. I know of a place of safety for this one," she gestured towards her fallen opponent, "where she can be healed back to health. You have my word that no harm will come to her."
She glanced at Aura as she spoke, and she looked a little sad. "Nobody told you the whole legend, did they? If you cut off the head of a hydra, it doubles and comes back more fierce." She was not making fun of her. She just read too many books, and she recalled the story without automatically. Jewel was relieved that the fight was apparently over, and more than a bit grateful for their opponents' understanding. "Look at it this way: both of us achieved something here. You trashed the place, and we saved the owner's life - we'll just have to wait and see which message got through to him." She said, and in the next minute she was surprised at herself - where did that come from?... When Meld started collecting jewelry, Jewel's hands twitched, and some pieces around her shivered, making a clinking noise. But she soon regained control - this was not her main concern right now. All the jewelry stayed on the floor. When the girl collapsed, Jewel knelt down to see how bad her injuries were. She was not trained for this at all, all she could see was too much blood. The girl who was fighting Audrey offered her help; Jewel looked up at her, a bit surprised, and a bit relieved. "I... Thank you for your help, but I would like to take her home... I mean, to the Institute. She can be healed there, and... it would cause less problems for you and for her... when she wakes up." she added with a faint smile. The shop's door opened, but it was not the police. It was Jewel's parents, afraid for their daughter's life. Jewel looked at her opponents "Time for you two to go. We'll take her."
The woman fell, the wound meld had inflicted looked deep and agreed with Meld when she told them they could help. It was true, Sanctuary medicle staff was top notch. Jewel then mentioned the instatute, Aura ahd never been thare herself, she had never even seen the bulding actually. ALl she recalle dof it was that a man who lived thare had wnated to turn her into the police. She could never allow them to put her back in a cage no, better they all fall for their crimes, Her friend Meld had a softer view of Humans beleiveing many of them could be saved, although aura did not advocate wiping out humanity all together, she still bleived most of them had to die.
She had littile idea that a hydra grew back heads in place of those cut off, in fact she barely recalled whare she ahd even heard about the hydra itself. It did not matter, her point atleast as she saw it was clear and the girl was going to take her wounded companion home. Letting her weapons melt back into her Aura, Aura was almost suprrised when the pipe bomb she had made went off behint the counter, though their was littile for it to affect now. Aura picked up some of the jewels looking over them with continued confustion how anyone could make a living selling such things, shaking her head she headed for the back, and the back door, unlocking it with a sharp aura enhanced punch to the lock, opening the door, it's lock shatterd.
Aura steppe dout into the alleyway with a smile taking a few last swipes at the buildings facade. She did littile more then draw lines in the brick. "So, do we pursue our lost target?" she asked Meld unsurre what they should do at this point. She wnated to go after the man, find his home and paint the walls red with his family. Still maybe their message had been deliverd after all.

Meld had been to the Institute, if only breifly, and knew that the unconscious mutant was likely to get the sort of medical attention she needed. Although the wound was deep and there was a good deal of blood, she was pretty sure that it wasn't fatal nor should it cause any permanent damage, aside from an impressive scar, perhaps. It was a shame that the pretty one didn't trust her and Aura enough to help but she supposed that, given the circumstances, she could understand it.
"We do not need to be enemies," Meld offered as the two began to leave. "I have a certain respect for at least some of those at the Institue and know that they are trying, in their own way, to further the mutant cause as well. I believe that they are going about it the wrong way and may be doing more harm than good, but at least their hearts and minds are in the right place. I only hope that you will consider what Aura and I have said to you today. We should be on the same side and not constantly fighting one another. Imagine what could be accomplished if we were not always in opposition of our own kind."
Meld wasn't entirely sure where that had come from but it was heartfelt. Her recent trip to the Institute had opened her eyes to certain things, mainly that, as niave as the mansion residents were, at least in her opinion, they were trying to accopmlish much the same thing as she herself was. One day, perhaps, some sort of middle ground might be able to be reached between the two groups and they might be able to accomplish some real changes together. But that was, unfortunately, a long way off.
Meld waited for the other two to depart before answering Aura, not wanting them to cause any more trouble than they all ready had. "I think we should follow him. If nothing else he may lead us to a bed of anti-mutant humans. Think about it. This is probably the most stressful event of his life. Where else would he flee if not to fellow anti-mutant supremists?" She didn't actually know if he was involved in any sort of organization but she wouldn't be surprised and if he was then she intended to stop it.
