The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Zahira fidgeted as she walked though the streets of New York, that would lead her toward the X-mansion. She kept twisting her body to get out of the crowded streets to not touch the people around her. She was wearing her normal attire, her eyes darting around like a cornered animal. She stopped at the gates of the place and looked in though the gates. Her odd colored gaze narrowing in distrust.
She couldn't believe she had followed though with this thing. She was following the advice of another mutant, Dominic. Well she WAS checking the place out... But once she had found it, her trust for it, diminished greatly. She could tell this place would be crowded with people... even if they were mutants like her!
Zahira snorted quietly to herself and leaned on the gate of the place, she wasn't going to walk in. She took out her cell phone and slowly dialed Dominic's number, giving herself plenty of time to think about doing this or not. She quickly exited out of the calling system. "Damn! Why can't I just call him!?" She whispered to herself. "Cause I'm stupid!" She answered herself in the same quiet whisper as before. "Lets not forget paranoid..." She whispered to herself again, as she glanced around the place though the gates, frowning to herself. She was debating on what to do now, since she was just outside the gates, leaning on the rough metal, while her gloved hand shoved the black -outdated-cheap-piece-of-crap- cell phone into her pocket, as she flexed her gloved hands and waited for something to happen, or for someone to appear. Her eyes darting around again for anything strange of distrusting of the place.... not that she trusted it anymore then she did when she first got here. She prayed to whoever would hear her pleas that it was Dominic that would come, although she wasn't holding her breath for him. She figured someone would let her in... or at least she hoped so.

Streak was spending his day in the usual way. Watching the security cameras for anything out of the ordinary. It seemed to be a pretty dull day and started feeling like nothing was going to happen that day. Suddenly in the corner of one of the cameras a young girl came into view. Nothing seemed out of place so he continued to watch her before he ran out there. Her voice came out to him clearly over one of the nearest hidden cameras.
"Damn! Why can't I just call him!?" "Cause I'm stupid!" "Lets not forget paranoid..."
"And let's not forget just a little nuts for talking to yourself. I'll be right there." The silver mutant said over the intercom. Streak decided that he'd better get out there and start the introductions. He quickly left the room and started heading out. A minute or so later Streak was walking up to the gate with a smile on his face. Once he was at the gate he dialed in the numbers and the gates doors swung open so that he could let this new person into the mansion. "So what brings you to this place Miss...?" He trailed off waiting for a name. He leaned against the nearest wall and crossed his arms. Shawn was just waiting for an answer and he felt like being comfortable while he waited.
"And let's not forget just a little nuts for talking to yourself. I'll be right there."
Zahira quickly leaped out of the way as the gates shot open. "They're trying to kill meh!" She thought bitterly bemused by the situation, as she glared bemusedly at the male, and growled in anger. She had just been insulted... by a freaking a machine! NO wait it was a person! And she had almost been crushed by the gate! Her eyebrow twitched as she crossed her arms over her chest. "I am not nuts!" She hissed to herself. "How dare he insult me! I don't insult people I just meet based on their bad habits. Now do I!?" She thought bitterly. She had already just walked up... and was insulted!!! She already hated this place!
Zahira heard the voice over the intercom and glared ruefully at the male that had appeared. "Shitsuko Ja-ku! (Shut up, Jerk)" She muttered in Japanese, as she glared at him. "Thanks for insult!" She hissed defensively. "Do ya always insult people who come here of their own free will?" She asked. "Dominic asked meh to come check this place out.... And tell meh yer name first! Insulter!" Zahira said completely ignoring what he had just asked... well she didn't tell him her name, just why she was here. Well he had insulted her.... so she was returning the favor.... if he hadn't insulted her in the first place... she would of been nicer.

Wow. Defensive. He thought. Better try this again. "I was just joking around. I didn't mean to offend you." He said trying to calm her down. "My names Shawn. I don't know Dominic, but then again I've been pretty busy round here. I'm glad you decided to come check us out." Shawn hoped his apology would be accepted and he hadn't just screwed up this meeting. "Why don't you come on in and we can try this again." He needed a few seconds to think of what to say to her. Since he didn't know what she was capable of it was probably a good bet that he try not to keep her pissed at him.
"What do you know about the mansion?" He didn't want to bore her with something she already knew. Especially since he'd already started off on the wrong foot with whatever her name was. He decided to try the apology again hoping that she would understand that he really didn't mean anything by it. "Again. I'm sorry for insulting you I didn't mean anything by it." He had enough enemies and he didn't need any of them here. So all he could hope is that she would be able to put aside this misunderstanding and they could see eye to eye.
Zahira kept her arms crossed as she continued to glare at him, trying to figure out if this was a lie or not. She found none. "I'm Zahira Night..." She said completely blowing off his apology, looking a bit confused at it. Then again she hadn't been apologized to allot over the years. So compliments and apologies were confusing to her, so she never really got them.
Zahira nodded to what he said, before remembering what Dominic had said about having an older brother. "Dominic's got an elder brother, I think his name's Sam Johnson... he's one of teachers here... least that's what he told me." She said calmly. "As for going in side.... sure why not...." She said as she waited for him to go in first, cause she didn't trust this place one bit! Not after what the gate almost did. She rolled her eyes at him. "Stop Apologizing.... I get it... and I'm not mad... irritated but not mad." She said calmly, her voice holding a slight edge to it.

Cool she ain't mad. He could live with irritated. "Ya I know Sam. We're good friends. We work together." He said seeming to smile a bit. He could tell that she wasn't quite convinced but he couldn't blame her the way she reacted to his very first comment. She was clearly waiting for him to go first. He was pretty sure that he didn't inspire much trust at the moment but he was keen on changing that. Either it was going to happen now or some other time in the future.
"Anyways." He said as he started slowly walking back to the mansion. "This is a place where mutants of all ages come to learn how to control or develop their powers. We can help anyone who wants it and no power is to dangerous to be here." He started saying. He glanced over at Zahira. "So Za, Za-hir-a? Do you have a nickname that your friends call you?" He asked his mainly because he found her name a little difficult to pronounce.
Zahira nodded to him. "Interesting...." She said as she followed him into the mansion a little hesitant but she followed him, keeping a fair distance for not physical contact, as she made sure her skin was covered even as she followed him. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at how he said no power was too dangerous to be here.... She silently wondered if that included her? She had the power to kill people by a single touch... though skin to skin contact. She shook her head. Would they really allow her to stay here? She couldn't help but doubt it... and she wasn't too keen on staying here either.... she didn't like being around allot of people... and she figured she'd either be feared or avoided or even hated and resented for her powers.... and if anyone figured out her past... or the murders she had committed unintently, and unknowingly and unwillingly.
Zahira shook her head to get the thought of her head. "We'll see if yer school's true to their word won't we...." She said almost spitefully. "My codename is Zaira if you wanna call me that instead, I have other nicknames.... I just don't want ta go by 'em, anymore." She said calmly as she kept following and listening to him speak. She didn't' want to ask the questions that buzzing around in her head.... at the moment. She'd wait to speak to Sam, Dominic's older brother to ask him about the questions she had.

The first stop would be his office. She was very reserved with him. He wasn't sure if it was because she was still wary of him. They finally reached the doors and he held it open to let her in. "After you Zaira." He said hoping she would follow suite. "The first place we're going to stop by is the office that I share with Sam and Raina, both teachers. Just for some paperwork that we need to fill out and then on to the tour. Nothing major just the basic stuff." He said.
He looked at her face as he said this. For a little she seemed to be lost in her own thoughts. Perhaps her powers are more dangerous than he first thought. Streak wasn't going to turn her away for that. Whether the person stayed or left was their own choice. Streak knew that if they stayed and wanted to they would learn much more about themselves and their power than if they left and decided to fend for themselves. "That's cool. Consider this a place to start over. No one has to know more than you want them to know. Here you can be yourself but you can also be the person you always dreamed of being if you had your life to start over again without any of the bad past that may be following you around. You'd be hard pressed to find one person in the mansion that wasn't hiding something from someone but everyone understands and they don't judge you for keeping secrets." He hoped he didn't sound to preachy to her but he took the chance with this girl. She seemed like she needed more convincing and he only hoped that what he'd said was going to make her feel more comfortable.
Zahira rolled her eyes. And followed him, letting her eyes dart around her, watching and waiting for something to happen. Like she expected to suddenly get lashed out at. She kept her gloved hands stuffed in the pockets of her black cloak, which was open to reveal the black hoodie that she wore. "S-w-e-e-t(She said the word with sarcasm) the normal school crap... what does this 'paperwork' of yers ask?" She find herself complaining bitterly and asking a question in the process of complaining.
She kept on following him, listening to him talk. She kept rolling her eyes at him, and mocking him in her head as he spoke. "Bah Humbug!" She hissed in her mind as she walked. "Good cause ya nor anyone's gonna find out shit 'bout meh!" She found herself snapping again, it was more or less to make herself seem brash and rude, and she didn't want to be seen like the weak type. She didn't want anyone to know the real her.... behind this persona and find out the real her, the real her that was just a scared, insecure, lonely girl who was afraid of being abandoned again because of her powers, the same powers that she feared and hated(Not that she'd ever let anyone find out the real her or allow the break the walls she build up around herself and her mind). She looked away from him. "Th' girl th't dre'med of bein' 'erself ish dead. She doesn't exist. M'ah pow'erz stop meh from bein' wh' Ah wan'ta be!" Zahira said ruefully her accent was thickened as she spoke. "I've started over allot over the years! Never worked! Why would this place be any different?" She said bitterly. Damn she wanted to stop talking... but she didn't know why she was telling a stranger all of this. Oh well she didn't fully understand it herself anyway... All she really wanted to do was see a familiar face.... hell she hoped Dominic would be there... she didn't wanna be stuck with adults... She didn't even trust adults... very much, she put her trust more in those who were around her age, then those who were... well older then her and legally considered adults... which that based of age 20 and up in her book of people who were adults. 19 though 14 were considered her age, teenagers. And 13 and younger were kids in her eyes.
She grunted at him. If he was trying to make her feel more comfortable.... he should stop while he's ahead, cause it ain't working for him. And she'd be damned if she let her guard down in a place like this. Who knows what's around the next corner or who or what is lurking in the shadows.

Shawn soon walked into his office. She seemed to be a little more abrasive once they arrived at the mansion. He thought it was a little interesting that she suddenly became rude and offstandish once he opened the door. "The forms basically ask what yer powers are and general information that you would fill out on an application for like a job interview. Nothing big." He walked into the the office that he shared with Sam. Sam wasn't there. No one was. It would just be him and her talking about her powers. Hopefully she would see that there were many others there with similar problems that they'd faced before they came here.
He walked over to his desk and offered a seat to her. He pulled a paper off his desk and offered it to her. The application was simple and very obvious with what info he needed. THere was nothing tricky or even really hard or personal questions on it. The most personal questions on the form would probably be their age and what their powers were. "So Zaira. I'm guessing from the way yer dressed yer powers have something to do with touch. Am I right or even close?" he asked She was going to right it down anyways so he was going to find out one way or another. He felt that he should answer her questions that she seemed to inadvertently throw at him. "Well, first of all this school wont turn you away. Period. No one here will ask you about yer family, or yer history. The forms that you fill out don't even ask you about that. Why? Because we don't need to know. I know I sound like I'm trying to recruit you to the military or something but I'm telling you the truth. You may not believe me but if ya give this place a chance you'll find out that I'm not lying to ya." If she didn't believe him then there was probably nothing he could do to change that fact. Maybe Dominic or Sam would come in here to prove his point. But if not then he would do all he could to keep her at the mansion.
Just another average day at the mansion....as average as you can get considering the kind of people who occupied the place. The younger Johnson sibling went about his normal routine of...doing nothing really. Just sitting at his desk in his room an oreo in one hand and a paint brush in another while he tried to paint the scenery outside his window. A blue bird perched in the branches looking over it's newly hatched young Th beginning of new life was something he thought was worth capturing on a canvas and he had spent that whole morning trying to illustrate the scene, though it was annoying as hell when the mother bird continued to move and fly off. While he was painting, he could feel something crawling along his hand and a tingling sensation going through his body. That same tingling sensation he had gotten everytime another batch of DNA was packed into his body. Strange when he suddenly lost the taste for Oreos and suddenly wanted flies, and he looked down to realize that his taste for insects had come from the spider DNA that had been stored thanks to the little 8 legged creature that decided to pay him a visit. Before Dominic could even reach for the little bugger, it leaped from his hand towards the window and skittered on out.
"Jumping Spider..." Dominic noted and quickly busted out the laptop and wikied the creature's abilities. "Jumping spiders are generally diurnal, active hunters. Their well developed internal hydraulic system extends their limbs by altering the pressure of body fluid (blood) within them. This enables the spiders to jump without having large muscular legs like a grasshopper. The jumping spider can therefore jump 20 to 60 or even 75-80 times the length of their body" he read to himself and got a sly grin on his face. That would definitely be an awesome ability to come in handy. Not to mention the wall crawling. The teen decided that he would resume his painting a little later and that he wanted to experiment with the new acquired animal.
Seconds later the boy found himself crawling up the walls of his room and exiting it as he decided to explore the mansion from his new point of view on the ceiling. First place he had to stop to show off was Sam's office and he wallcrawled his way through the building to the room, though when he got there, who he saw took him by complete surprise.
"ZAHIRA?!" he exclaimed and from the shock, he lost concentration and found himself falling from the ceiling and landing on his back with a hard thud between Streak and the new arrival. He gave a bashful wave to the girl with his face red with embarrassment.
Zahira took the paperwork from him. Snatching up a pen that was on the desk. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow when she looked over the questions and filled them out. "Are ya mocking meh, cause of the way Ah talk?" She asked knowing he didn't talk like that before, and she had the suspicion that he was mocking her. She finished filling out paperwork, leaving most of the thing blank besides what she wanted to put in there. "Don't expect me to fill out everythin'." She added. She ignored his question. "That.... that is really none of yer buisness.... y'll find out on the forum." She said calmly as she looked away from him, putting the forum and the pen back on the desk she had taken the pen from. "We'll see.... Ja-ku... we'll see..." Zahira said her voice quietly bitter and cold. Yes she had thrown in the Japanese word for jerk again.
She glanced around and was starting to relax slightly, but she tensed up again and jumped back when Dominic came crashing down after yelling out her name. The girl was in equal surprise as she watched him, a look of worry flashing across her face as she looked at him. "Dominic!" The girl said quickly clearly surprised. "Are ya alright?" She asked wanting to go over toward the male, but something stopped her. She didn't want to hurt him. Even though she probably couldn't. She didn't want to take any chances.
"Yeah...I'll be fine...owe...." the blonde cringed, picking himself up. Usually he was able to switch to a cat's ability to flip his body over and land on his feet. The sight of Zahira had completely distracted him. She was the last person she expected to see. Well, not really the last since she did say she would check out the mansion, but she was still a surprised.
"I was just testing out some new powers. Hoping to catch my bro here...but apparently he isn't..." Dominic said using the spider Jump's leap and then clung to the ceiling by his hands and feet again looking over to Streak. "I'm guessing you're Shawn. Sam told me about you Nice to finally meet you." he said while reaching into his pocket and grabbing his cell phone. "Let me give Sam a ring so you can meet him..." he said dialing his brother's number....all while hanging upside down from the ceiling.
Zahira smiled slightly. "Uh-huh." She hummed as she looked up at him. "Sure ya are." She said with a smile. She didn't know why, but she felt like she could really trust Dominic. Only god knew why she was putting her trust him, cause she didn't understand it herself.
She heard him comment and rolled her eyes, and crossed her arms over her chest. "Speak for yerself, Animal-boy." She said smiling boldly at the nickname she had just called him. She hoped he wouldn't be too mad at her for calling him that. "Yer not the one who got insulted by him when ya first met him..." Came the slightly bitter responce as she guestered toward Shawn throwing him a small glare, as she was still a bit sore about being insulted and being called nuts! She did not consider herself nuts for talking to herself. In fact it was just that fact that had kept her sane everytime she accidently(or on purpous) killed someone out of instinct or in dire need to defend herself or someone else, or in a life or death situation.

"No I'm not. My own accent kicks in whenever I'm tired." Shawn explained rubbing the back of his neck. He was about to continue talking when spider with a mouth decided to drop in. Streak was so surprised that he pushed his chair back away from his desk. "Whoa. Very cool. Ya must be Dominic. Nice to finally meet ya. I told you that was a joke. Look since yall know each other, maybe it'd be better if I let Dominic here give you the rest of the tour." Streak said trying to resolve this issue between him and Zaira. If she wasn't going to talk to him and forget about the whole little joke-that-went-wrong thing then perhaps it was better if she was getting the tour with someone else. If she wanted Streak to take off then he'd be more then happy to show them out of his office, give her a room key and let them get settled in.
