The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Meld sat in dim corner watching the door for the individual she was supposed to meet. She had arrived here early, having discovered early on in her criminal career that it was always better to be early. One never knew when the unexpected could happen, and that was especially true in the criminal world. In the real world the worst that could happen if you were late was getting yelled at by your boss, or possibly fired if it happened to often. But in her world, a world in which torture and revenge were not uncommon, the worst that could happen was that you could lose your life. Meld had seen it happen. It was in the first few months of her criminal career, not long after she had discovered that she was a mutant. Some unfortunate she was supposed to be protecting, he was carrying a large sum of drug money for his boss, arrived nearly half an hour late. The boss didn't like his excuse so he killed him right then and there. Meld learned from that experience and made sure never to be late for a job after that. She also learned that she never wanted to be the one in charge of holding the money.
Meld looked up at the clock above the door. 8:55. She had another 5 minutes to wait. Meld took a drink of her coffee, looking around at the other customers. The place was fairly busy, a low hum audible throughout the building. She had chosen this place carefully, knowing that the noise of the other customers would drown out any any conversation of illegal activities that they were likely to have. It was another thing that she had learned early on. Many of her employers preferred to have meetings in public places like this for just such a reason. In a coffee shop, she was just another customer among many; nothing special, nothing exceptional. Well, except for the fact that she was a mutant of course, but there wasn't much she could do to hide that fact.
Meld took a moment to consider the two people she was supposed to be meeting with today. She had spoken to David on the phone the previous night and he was the one who suggested this little heist. She still wasn't quite sure how he had gotten her name, he didn't sound like the type over the phone that she usually dealt with, but work was work. If it turned out he was inept she would be able to tell long before they actually began and would decline the job. But the fact was, she desperately needed the money and this was a fast way to gain it although it would be her first bank robbery. Then there was the third person. She didn't even have a name for them, let alone a gauge on how competent they were. Not that such a thing was uncommon in this line of work, but she would certainly feel better knowing who she would be working with. No matter, it wouldn't be much longer before the two of them showed up and she would be able to decide if she was, indeed, willing to work with them. As much as she needed the money, Meld wasn't about to get herself killed or arrested by dealing with incompetents.
Meld looked at the clock again. 9:00 pm. They should be here by now.
This was it, time to meet the gang. David had talked to the two of them over the phone, and picked this place as the perfect meeting area. The fact is he had never done something like this, and the people he was due to meet were experienced, it made David a little nervous. He had seen what people like this had done, and in some cases he couldn't blame them, they were mutants, and that can lead some people down some bad roads.
Regardless they were useful, they were professional, and hopefully friendly. He stood around the corner of the coffee shop, taking a few breathes, no matter how they had done things in the past, David was in charge of this job, he had rules, and had to stick to them. He knew if he showed incompetence the two would lose faith, he may not be strong but he was athletic, and he had the plans to back the job up. Yes this was it, time to meet the gang.
David strode around the corner and entered the shop confidently, he was wearing jeans, a dark blue jacket, and a blacke gatbsy hat on his head. He was able to pick out who he was meeting with and made his way to her table. She picked one in the back, one where she could see the entrance and exit, smart girl. He calmly took a seat on the other side, and gave her a smile "Gday ms. Meld." He said raising his hand to the waitress. "Coffee, black." He told her. "and we wait on one."
Aura walked across the street heading for the coffee shop, Aura herself held littile value in money. She had a home that did not need it and foo as well, no she shad chosen this idea for a new freind she had just met and brought to the sanctuary, Aris. The girl had said she needed it in order to help Aid her mutation. Aura did wonder what the girl would say, she did not seem the type used to having others go out of their way for them.
Aura was not quite fond of this idea, Bank robbery was fine, but just how this guy had gotten her number, the number of a woman that acording to paper went missing years ago was intresting in itself. Still Aura decided to go, figuring that either way she would get to dance. She did have a bit of a reputation from killing numerous people in the city however. Aura walked to the coffeee shop wearing a form fitting black t shirt and a long black skirt with a ravaged looking hand bag over her shoulder. Swiping the stray locks from her face she enterd the coffee shop and her eyes immediately sweapt the place, taking notes of the exits. Cracking her shoulder she spotted the man she was to meet with a woman she could not quite see yet.
Aura walked over to the group and orderd only water, she was more at ease when she Saw Meld here, she had never worked with the girl bu knew her to a degree and knew she would kill if necasary Plus from what Aura knew the girl had a career out of this kinda thing, organized crime was new to Aura, fighting a battile was not and essentualy she viewed this as the same, Like a lightning strike against a lightly armed force.
She did not smile as she looled over their employer he was older then her by atleast several years. Taking her seat She looked at the clock 9:00, she had made sure to be on time, she had been trained to show up at an exact time as it was needed to run a good millatary unit. "Mornin to the two of you" She said taking a sip of her eayer as it arived.

Meld sat quietly watching as first David and then Aura walked into the coffee shop and joined her. 9:00 right on time. She liked that. Her first impressions of the man who had called her for this job were not particularly negative, which was a good sign at least. Time and the planning to come would tell just how competent he was. She stood up and extended her hand to shake David's. "Good day to you as well, David."
A moment later Aura arrived. She was not the person Meld had expected to see as the third member of this little heist of theirs, but she wasn't entirely surprised either. From what she had seen of the woman so far, she could more than handle herself in a fight and obviously didn't have a whole lot of respect for human laws. It was a comfort to have someone on this mission who Meld knew and, more importantly, knew to be competent. She nodded in greeting in her friend's direction as Aura sat down at the table.
"So you're the one who called us here today," Meld said, speaking to David, "so I assume you have some sort of plan in mind?" She spoke quietly so that only the three of them would be able to hear, but not so quietly as to be suspicious to any onlookers. Meld didn't waste any time on small talk, getting directly to business. There was a time for small talk and a time for business, and this was not the time for small talk. Besides, she didn't want to know to much about the one who had called her anyway, nor did she want him to know to much about her. Such knowledge, in this business, could be dangerous.
David looked Aura up and down, she didn't look like much, but from what little David knew she could hold her own, and if the plan worked they should be ok. He waited for the both of them to get their drinks before continuing. "Straight to business, ok we can do that." He said pulling up a briefcase and popping it open.
Inside were blueprints and notes, neatly prepared and sectioned out. He slid a copy of each to the two of them and closed the case. "This is going to be a quick an easy job, get in, get out. It will be done at night to minimalize confrontation, though there are still night guards, no deaths." He said pulling up the blueprints. The bank is two levels, first floor is the main lobby, offices, tellers, all the typical public areas. The basement is the vault, hard to access, even harder to break into.
"Now before we continue I want to make sure you don't have any problems so far. This is no smash and grab, but if it may devolve into one. If this happens I can guarantee we will be making a hasty and dangerous exit, but even under those circumstances we are not to kill anyone, we are thieves, not murderers." He said looking at the two. He calmly took a sip of his coffee, he wanted them to agree, he needed their help, and wasn't trusting enough to constantly spend his time fishing for criminals.
Aura looke dover the Notes, the plan seemed sound enough, but the no deaths part was going to be quite a challinge. Aura in her opinion had never murderd anyone. After all you could only murder a sentinent being, and Humans were not such a creature. Still it was clear he wnated the Humans to be safe which was ironic in Aura's opinion. He was willing to let people starve becuse he took their cash, but did not wnat his own hands dirty.
Meld was experinced at this kind of work, much more so then Aura, aura rarely robbed anything. and now that she was at sanctuary, robbery ahd become pointless. Sanctuary prvided all she needed, trainign areas and a bed. Aura wa shappy to have the older woman on their team for that very reason, it menat at leats one of them knew exactly what they were doing.
"The plan makes sense and i will go along with it, your the boss and your orders will be obeyed" Aura said almost without question. Aura disliked the idea o not being able to kill, but her own convictions were meaningless, as these were her current ordera, ironicly she had only taken the job to help the other woman out, she wonderd if Meld would get a kick out of that when this was over. Aura had been trained that depsite what you personally beleived, your orders always came first, their were no questions on loyelty. This place was to far from Sanctuary or them to get to on foot with out encountering some kind of pursuit. But the darkness would help in that as well "So whare do i wait" she asked simply, ordering another glas of water from the waitress.

Meld looked carefully at the blueprints and notes that David had brought with him as he listed to the plan. Seemed simple enough and she liked simple. Of course, she had been doing this sort of thing long enough that she knew things were rarely as simple as expected. No matter, the plan was solid and she knew, at least, that herself and Aura could handle themselves. And at least David seemed prepared, which lent credence to the theory that he probably could as well. Although she couldn't help but wonder how her friend would react to the no killing rule. It could certainly prove to make things all the more interesting.
"You seem to have everything well in hand," Meld said, obviously impressed. "Everything you've said and shown thus far sounds good. I know how to incapacitate without killing so that shouldn't be a problem. I look forward to working with both of you. If all goes well this should be a profitable experience for all of us." Meld grinned. It would also be an excellent learning experience for her. There was nothing quite like broadening her talents and if things went well it could open the gates for similar prophet making opportunities.
Meld decided it was best not to mention the possibility of things getting worse than David anticipated. Sure he knew that it was possible for things to get messy, but what he didn't seem to realize was that sometimes mere incapacitation of opposition wasn't sufficient. She would, of course, do her best not to kill; she had no specific agenda against anyone involved aside from the fact that they were most likely human, but if it came down to it she would do whatever was necessary to survive and not go to prison. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that, but it was always good to be prepared.
David smiled at the two, they were pure business. He waved over the waitress for a refill and thanked the woman. Once she walked away he continued. "You're both seem versed in this type of thing, but unless I am mistaken you don't know each other, and I think we should probably know a little more before doing something like this."
He showed them the plans of the building and the area around it. "Geting in should not be too difficult, we access from the roof." He said taking a sip of his coffee. "If you need help getting up there that's not a problem. Once we get up top one of you will need to break in through the door, obviously this will trigger the alarm, but I can monitor the frequency and jam it until one of you cuts the alarm here." He said pointing to the alarm controls on the top floor."
"should be quick and easy then, if all goes well we won't encounter anyone" she said masking the hope they would. It was true the plan would work much better if they encounterd no one else. At the vesry least they were likely to get away with more if that happoned. It was also true that would make things much less exciting, but excitement really was not the issue here. Aura continued to drink from the water she had orderd earlior as she scanned the plans again.
"Actually we have met" she said decideing to leave the exact details out of this, he really did not need to know more about them. He was still a stranger after all and so what she gave would be limited. "I can do either job well, however" she said honestly. The door could easily be cut through and the alarm was even less of an issue. Their would likely be a small elerctric pulse at cutting the wire, but Aura figured it would not be enough to cuase actual harm. With David blocking the alarm the mission sounded almost to easy to Aura.

"Getting up to the roof shouldn't be a problem nor should breaking through the door," Meld assured him. Actually, it was likely to be a little more difficult than she made it out to be, but it was more than possible. She flexed her gloved hand unconsciously, thinking about what was to come.
Meld took a careful look at the plans laid out before them. Everything seemed to be in order, it should be quick and easy provided nothing went wrong. Of course, something always went wrong but she was prepared for that. Meld didn't feel the need to elaborate on exactly how she and Aura knew each other. If it wasn't important for the success of the mission than it wasn't important for David to know.
David was happy about the confidence the both of them showed, it was definitely something David wished he had. He hid it from them, but he was actually very nervous, it was his first job, and the pressure of it was getting to him. Add on the fact that these people probably do this for a living, and David was just doing it for a fun challenge made him even more nervous.
He was really surprised that they already knew each other, that would hopefully mean they had worked together in the past. "Well getting in is the easy part, the difficulty comes afterward. The third and second floors are not important, offices and storage. The first floor is the banking lobby, a place to be careful. Finally their is one large set of stairs in the back that leads to the vault, that will be the most difficult. Guards will be on all floors, but the vault will be the worst, security cameras will also be there, so we need to be careful." He said looking around the shop, this really was it, a real heist.
