The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was music time for father and son in the music room and as always they played the song that Sammy picked. Sure a Sammy on Harmonica and Sam on the violin made for an interesting sound but if need be Sam had pre-recorded a few songs and just got rid of the violin so he could improvise with the notes of the harmonica. Today’s choice was from one of Sammy’s favorite shows called “Bleach” it was a animation show about grim reapers fighting monsters from what Sam could gather and seeing as Sammy did all his homework before the show it must have been a decent show.
As Sam hit play on the CD player, the piano started off as Sam started to play on the violin and as Sammy filled in with the harmonica only playing the high notes. Never Meant To Belong wasn’t a particularly a difficult song to play but it got Sammy to play which Sam makes him do for at least an hour a day.
As the song ended Sam’s phone began to ring as he set his instrument to the side he grinned to Sammy who was still going on with the song despite the violin and the CD stopping. He had already memorized the song so it wasn’t that hard for him to play over and over again.
Picking up the phone Sam flipped it open and was slightly surprised to hear Sara on the other end, “Hello,” Sam said as he heard Sammy playing in the background which progressively got louder as Sammy started to float in the air and then fly closer near Sam’s ear.
“Sam. I have a surprise for you. She’s Circe’s daughter, she manipulates ice, and we’ll be at the mansion in 15 minutes.”
After he hung up Sam looked to his son and said, “Your Fairy Godmother is coming for a visit…” he noted the expression on his son’s face as he did a circle in the air and followed Sam to the main entrance. As Usual Chelsea was right beside them a skip in her step as she tried to catch Sammy’s tail as he flew it right in front of her in hopes to get her to play.
Somewhere along thinking on whether she will get the giant teddy bear or the giant kitty or maybe the doll house she has been eyeing last time she and her mother went to shopping, Airyn saw Sara pulling out her phone. She didn’t pay much attention to it however as her mind found the perfect gift mommy will get her. Yes, the baby doll + cradle and accessories. She had already managed to damage the one she had by icing up half of the baby’s head when the clothes weren’t fitting on it. She heard words like circe, ice, Sam and minutes. She assumed that Sam would be Sara’s friend and that they will meet in only minutes. The ice part, she couldn’t understand but then she remembered Sara saying that her friend was an ice manipulator. Whatever that meant… As for the circe part… She didn’t know what a circe was, maybe some foreign name of another friend of Sara’s? With a shrug, Airyn found herself in the world of toys once again.
The 15 minute drive went by fast. As Sara expected, the child had no idea yet, of her connection to the man she was about to be introduced that way. Sara wasn’t sure how she was about to handle that, but somehow, she hoped that she didn’t have to be the one to tell the child and explain everything. There was of course that slim chance that she wasn’t Sam’s child. She could have committed a kidnapping for no reason.
Periodically, Sara checked the rear view mirror to be sure that Airyn was alright, because she was being entirely too quiet. However nothing seemed to be the matter with her. Unlike when Sara’s student got really quiet, Airyn was perfectly behaved. Alexandra certainly had brought her up well mannered.
Sara pulled up to the x-mans’ Mansion. The ignition was turned off, and Sara unbuckled her seat belt. Then checked the mansion door on the other side of the gate, looking for Sam and Sammy.

Noticing Sammy putting his harmonica in his pocket and taking to the air, Sam called out “Make sure you have the sun behind you best chance you have to surprise her!” Even though they haven’t know each other long Sammy instantly clicked with Sara, it was a good choice on his part to make her a godmother for him. Who else could keep an eye on his son regardless of the situation? Sara was the perfect godmother.
“I’m going to get her this time! Flat on the ground!” said Sammy as he took to the air grinning from ear to ear, “Maybe we can play for a bit….” Said Sammy to himself, as he was now level with the top of the mansion. Nodding to his dad below him Sam called out, “Make sure Chelsea doesn't go until the door is open!” if he planned on knocking Aunt Sara over he was going to need the help of his super dog! Together they were invincible! Now if only Dad would help tackle Auntie she wouldn’t stand a chance…
As the car pulled in the drive Chelsea’s tail was twitching so fast she was blowing up dust behind her. “Stay…” Sam said as the dog started to whine wanting to partake in the fun that would be soon coming seeing as Sara was now here. It had become a habit for Sammy to try and tackle her for some reason but then again that was how he greeted people when he was his age, ‘Maybe it runs in the family’ thought Sam as he patted the dog gently on the head to calm her.
Watching the door open Sam noticed Sammy going into a dive, “Get ‘em” Sam said to Chelsea who took off running towards the car which Sara was now exiting from. The dog took off running barking with her tail wagging. Either Sammy was a genius in training his dog or Chelsea hated cats. But seeing as Sam had yet to see Chelsea growl at anything he came to the conclusion his son was the best dog trainer in the world.
"AUNT SARA!!!” Sammy called out as he dive bombed his godmother in a hug as the dog landed on her at the same time, only to lick her hand.
Airyn let her head rest on her hand as Sara was stopping the car in front of some huge, now opened gates. She was getting anxious over this surprise party and couldn’t wait to get home. She hoped Sara would pick up her friend and then leave for home. Her eyes scanned the man that was standing at the gates, waiting for them. She assumed he was Sam, but her eyes didn’t linger on the man for too long, instead focused on the dog. Oh, she loved the dog! Airyn was such a big animal lover and mommy had promised her that when she will get older she will have one. Maybe that day had came? She was receiving a pet as a gift? Oh, that would be the best gift mommy could ever give to her. Maybe this man, Sam, was a dog owner and they came to pick up the puppy she would get. Remembering the mentioning of the word ‘circe’ she assumed that that would be the name of her dog, or maybe that was the name of the dog that was standing next to who she thought it was Sam.
She began to eye with more interest both the man and the dog, scouting the area for any dog that might have been hidden. Maybe mom picked it up earlier but forgot something? Maybe it was hidden behind the ‘Sam’? Her head shot up, trying to look better outside. She heard Sara get out of the car and turned her head to her. She wished she could get out too and search better but if Sara didn’t mention anything about getting out, she decided to remain inside. They had struggled so much to do this for her and it would have been rude from her to spoil the surprise by telling them she already knew what everything was about. Her eyes turned back to where the man and the dog were standing, looking for a sign of her soon to be pup.
Sure, she found herself being amazed when out of nowhere another kid appeared and tackled Sara, but being succesfully caught in a hug. In the same time, the dog ran towards her barking and when reaching her, began to lick her hand. Airyn let out a laugh, enjoying the show developed in front of her eyes and wished she would be outside to play with the dog. Maybe with the boy too. She didn’t have many friends of her age. Actually, she didn’t have any. But seeing that the boy was different, just like her, she figured out that he wouldn’t mind her. Maybe he was coming to his party? Oh, that would have been so nice!
Sara got the drivers side of the door shut, with a smirk on her face. The second the door opened and Sara saw Chelsea she knew her little game with Sammy was about to continue. The boy apparently inherited his fathers competitive side, and like his father had, he enjoyed a challenge.. .. .. Maybe too much but what could Sara really say? She had just stolen a child after all.
Sara heard Sam’s “Get ‘em” as he gave permission for Chelsea to run and that gave her maybe a second to locate her godson before.. .. .. There he was. The movement of Sammy’s shadow on the ground told Sara exactly where he was as her ind ran the calculations with the rest of the surrounding shadows, added that to the sound of his greeting that she heard, and her head made the instant adjustments.
"AUNT SARA!!!”
Sara grinned. Her knees bent before he pushed off backwards, spinning with her own momentum so she was facing the charging Samy at the last possible second. Her tail acting as a rutter as she caught Sammy in a hug, and her tail, unseen thanks to the allusion, spun once, while her body did a half circle around his so her legs were going to land first, on the ground, into a kneeling position, with Sammy held a few inches off of the grass. And then there was super Chelsea who Sara pushed one hand towards for her to lick, rather than risk getting dog saliva on her face. Katrina’s illusion made Sara look and feel normal, but that didn’t change how dog saliva felt on fur. Even loveable dog saliva. Mean while Chelsea could hardly keep herself still as her tail wagged so hard, her whole body went into the motion.
“you’re getting faster.” Sara told Sammy as she gave him a quick squeeze, with one arm while the other scratched, carefully the back of Chelsea’s head. The dog turned and bumped her side against Sara’s knee with enough weight to make her adjust her balance so that the knee that she was starting to push off of the ground was put back down. Thus the power of super dog.
“Oh you’re getting strong though.” Sara said as she let Say go, then stood to dust herself off. She motioned for Big Sam to come over to the ‘barrowed’ car, and opened to door for Airyn. “Sammy. This is Airyn. Airyn, this is Sammy.” Sara started the introductions. “And Airyn, that man over there,” Sara leaned over so she could point Sam out through the window. “That is the Sam I talked to on the phone, and told you about. I need to talk to him, but while I do, I bed Sammy would show you how to make his dog do some tricks.”

Beaming at the compliment by his godmother Sammy looked to Chelsea and nodded while petting her letting her know that she did just what he trained her to do. His tail twitched slightly and wrapped around Aunt Sara’s arm while she gave him the hug, wrapping both arms around her he gave her a tight squeeze then let go as his tail unwound from her arm. Watching as she motioned for her Dad, “Did you come to play?” he asked with a big smile on his face as Chelsea let out an excited bark at the mention of the word ‘play’.
Sam was already on the move as Sara waved him over. “So what did you need?” Sam asked as he didn’t hear everything that was said over the phone seeing as Sammy was playing in his ear. He thought he heard everything but there was no way Circe was mentioned, he hadn’t heard that name in a while not since they split, even though you couldn’t really call it a split. Sam didn’t even know Circe had a daughter. One thing he heard though was that she was an ice manipulator like him and that meant one thing… he would have to help her with her powers.
If controlled and honed the power of controlling ice was a great asset to have. But if uncontrolled and unfocused it could lead to countless deaths. That was one thing Sam remembered as a kid, every time he lost control of his powers someone died from freezing or getting an icicle to the temple or neck. However you looked at it the powers needed to be controlled as soon as possible.
“Airyn?” Sammy asked as his tail showed how he was feeling as his tail wrapped around his leg shaking slightly. Sammy wasn’t the best meeting new people but after training with his dad he was slowly getting over being afraid of new people. He wanted for the okay from Chelsea. Who was now standing between Sammy and the girl.
Crouching down Chelsea slowly walked over to the girl sniffing the air. The first thing she did upon approaching was nudging her hand with her head. After a second Chelsea started licking her hand as she circled the girl begging to be loved.
That was Sammy’s cue; he never talked to anyone who didn’t pass Chelsea’s test. “You want to see her tricks?” Sammy asked excited as he said, “Sit” which was a universal command for what Chelsea just did. “Find a stick!” Sammy said as his dog got up from sitting and went in search for a suitable stick to play with. The entire mean while distracting Sammy longs enough so Sara and his father could talk.
As he watched Sammy and Chelsea go through there normal set of tricks he looked to Sara and said, “This the girl? Cute kid.” he could somewhat see the resemblance between her and Alex. “Didn’t even know Alex had a kid…” he said slightly surprised, “So she is the ice manipulator? How old is she?” he asked curiously realizing she had to be a few years younger than when his powers surfaced.
Airyn let herself out of the car as Sara opened the door for her. She was feeling a bit awkward for not knowing anyone; she had her family with her almost all the time. Well, of course, minus the time she was in Milton’s, which had her feeling like she was in hostile territory. And she wasn’t feeling that way right now. However, as soon as Sara finished the introductions, Airyn greeting Sam and Sammy with a wave and a small, shy smile, the feeling began to fade away. And as soon as Sara mentioned Sammy showing her some tricks, the little girl’s smile widened.
The dog came over to her, sniffing the air. Airyn couldn’t help herself feeling a bit scared by it, although she loved dogs. But when the dog began to nudge her hand and then started licking it, her fear slipped away. She caressed the dog’s head with both of her hands.
“You want to see her tricks?”
Airyn nodded excited at this, her hands clapping when the dog obeyed the ‘sit’ command. She was certain now that she will be getting a dog, and maybe Sam was a dog trainer who was going to help her train her new pup. Now Airyn was even more excited about this whole situation. She glanced back at Sammy as he sent the dog to find a stick. “How do you call her? Airyn asked in a shy voice, almost not looking at the boy. She wasn’t that great with meeting new kids since many of them didn’t want to even talk with her but at seeing Sammy being interested by the prospects of playing with her, her courage grew with every second that passed.
Ok. Had Sam heard everything Sara had said about this kid on the phone? Sara assumed not, now. Not after she remembered holding the phone two inches away from her ear because of the music in the back ground. (Sort of like when she held the phone away from her ear when holding to Luke and he was pissed.) Still Sara expected Sam to at least take a few hints.
“This the girl? Cute kid.”
Sara nodded as she walked around the car, and checked over her shoulder to be sure all was well with the kids and the dog.
“Didn’t even know Alex had a kid…”
“Well she didn’t want you to know so I’m showing you.” Sara crossed her arms. Come on Sam, take a few hints. “And yes. She’s an ice manipulator.. .. ..” Sara paused hoping something would sink in with out her having to practically scream it.
Sara checked over her shoulder again to be sure Chelsea was doing just want she wanted her to do, and being a distraction for the kids, before continuing. “Circe doesn’t want you to know her daughter.” Sara said in a much quieter voice. “Circe doesn’t know yet that I practically kidnapped the kid for two hours to have her meet you.. .. ..” Sara paused again hoping things would continue to sink in for Sam. “Circe had her four years ago.. .. ..”

Noticing that Chelsea had indeed found a good size stick Sammy lifted his hands to his mouth the way his mother had taught him and let out a loud whistle. The high pitch sound echoed in the courtyard as it reached the ears oh the black lab-retriever, and made her turn tail with the stick in her mouth and come running back to the source. As the dog approached he looked to the Airyn and said, “Her name is Chelsea…”as Sammy said her name he picked up the stick and jumped high into the air his mutation carrying him higher and higher till he was level with the mansion’s room. Throwing the stick Sammy watched as Chelsea let out a bark and then chased after it. As he landed next to Airyn he said, “She is the best fetcher in the world!”
He heard she was an ice manipulator, which wasn’t strange despite it being dangerous in ability for children to have he had seen it on several other mutants so it wasn’t much of a hint to get what Sara had been trying to tell him. Blinking he asked, “wait you kidnapped her?” he asked as he looked from Airyn to Sara trying to catch up with Sara who have obviously had been insinuating something.
“You kidnapped Alex’s kid, and she doesn’t want me to know she had one why?” it took Sam a few more seconds to process the rest, “Four Years ago???” Sam asked as his mind suddenly caught up with Sara’s. His jaw dropped as he looked to Airyn and pointed to her and then looked back to Sara, the pointing hand went from pointing to cover his speechless mouth as it went back from pointing then back to his mouth. “S-S-S-Seriously?!?!?” Sam yelled as he took a step back as his feet gave way from under his body as his legs were to stiff to move.
Looking up to Sara he asked, “S-S-She is my kid?!?” Sam didn’t know what else to say, what could he say this was the second kid that came to his door that was potentially his, “…NA Test?” Sam asked trying to ask if Airyn was for sure his kid. Sam already felt like a crappy dad and all around bad guy as is seeing as Sammy had to be without a dad as long as he had been. Now there was potentially another kid who didn’t have her father in his life. “I’m the worst person in the world….”
Sara’s head tilted and she rocked on her toes as she could see the realization sinking in Big Sam’s head. “Technically yes, but also Technically she climbed in the car by her self.” Not that things like that really mattered in the world of kidnapping but it made Sara feel better. If Airyn had screamed and run off, Sara would have never continued her plan.
“You kidnapped Alex’s kid, and she doesn’t want me to know she had one why?”
“You should be able to fill in that blank with what happened, ohh.. .. .. about four or five years ago.. .. ..” Come on Sam.
“Four Years ago???”
Sara nodded as Sam’s hand started doing all his talking for him. Between pointing and then being held in front of his mouth. And pointing, and. You get the idea. Sara put a hand on Sam’s shoulder to try and steady him.
“…NA Test?”
“I thought Doc Prof could perform that, but I’ve got a hunch.” Sara glanced at Airyn who was staring up at Sammy who had taken to the air. Mommy probably didn’t like the use of powers.
“I’m the worst person in the world….”
“No you’re not.” Sara returned her attention back to Sam. “Slick, you can’t kick yourself for what you don’t know. To be honest, there’s a chance that Circe won’t let you have much contact with her, if any. I couldn’t let you not know, and I had to open the door for questions she will have later.”

Frowning slightly as he looked at Airyn he said, “If she is my kid nothing is going to keep me away from her…” scratching his chin and his unshaven face Sam looked to Sara and said, “How long do you think it is till Alex finds out about her kid missing?” the DNA testing device that Doc had only took a few minutes but unless he hurt the girl which was out of the question it would be difficult to get a DNA sample.
“Have you seen her use her powers?” Sam asked curiously as he raised him self up to his usually stature no longer slouching or making it look like he was shorter than he normally was. He watched Sammy high in the air as he threw a stick then gently floated down back to the surface. ‘Maybe I can get a sample if I can get her to trust me…’ thought Sam as he looked to Sara and said, “We need that DNA before Alex gets here…”
Figuring that winter wonderland wouldn’t work on her seeing as she supposedly had similar abilities to him. “Airyn, could you come over here?” Sam asked loudly as his two kids and the dog came at his request. Crouching down to Airyn at eye level hoping that she wouldn’t be afraid of him Sam asked, “Sara tells me we have something in common…” raising a finger and putting it to the ground Sam activated his powers and formed a small ice figurine, “Sara tells me you can do something similar… can you show me?” using his hands to make the highly detailed ice figurine dance and wave to Airyn he looked up to Sara and Sammy who was hovering right next to Sara and Chelsea right under him.
Eyes as brown as her mothers, even if Sam saw Alex’s natural eye color once or twice eyes of that magnitude weren’t easily forgotten. Brown hair again, which again held a strong resemblance to her mothers. Upon gazing at the small girl Sam could not see anything that stuck out in his mind that would identify her as his daughter.
Airyn was having fun. For the first time ever when she was in the presence of another kid her age she was actually having fun. Although what she did was mostly watch while Sammy was up in the air throwing the stick at Chelsea, she was happily clapping her hands in sign of appreciation for both Sammy and Chelsea. Her mind had totally forgotten the fact that only minutes ago she was scared for being away from her mother. Of course, she wished her mommy would be there to see how happy she was having someone to play with. But if what she was thinking was true, then it wouldn't take much longer until they all would be reunited.
Airyn blinked surprised when she heard her name being called. Turning her head, she saw Sam calling her. With an unhappy sigh and fearing that she might have done something wrong, Airyn made her way to the man, followed by Sammy and Chelsea as well. She found herself being surprised when the man crouched down and actually asked her to use her talents. Watching with interest as he created the small ice figurine and had her dance and wave, Airyn couldn't help herself to stare in awe. Well, she could create ice but she didn't know she could do that. Her eyes turned to Sam watching him with concern. Strangely enough, even if mommy told her she shouldn't talk with strangers, there she was talking with one, and she didn't feel like something was wrong about it. Her eyes turned back to the ice figurine and watch it for a few seconds with the same concerned look and the slight impression that she was having a test right now. The girl's brown eyes glanced back at Sam, and Airyn let out a sigh. "I-I can't do that." she admitted, sadness shadowing her angelic face.
The least she could do was to be sincere about it. Lowering her shoulders, Airyn stared back at the ice figure while her hand rose above it. The color of her eyes changed from brown to silver as she brought her other hand above it as well. Concentrating, she closed her eyes. An ice beam erupted from her hand, creating an ice prison for the dancing figurine. Opening her eyes, Airyn looked at the figurine that was now half trapped in an icy flower with tens of sharp glittering petals. Shrugging, she looked back at Sam. That was everything she could do.
“If she is my kid nothing is going to keep me away from her…”
Sara’s lips tightened. She really couldn’t of expected to show Sam his daughter and expect him to stay away from her. She stared Sam in the eye for a moment, before she nodded and patted his shoulder.
“I promised Airyn that she would either be home, or be with her mother by 4:30 so we have almost 4 hours for now.” Sara said checking her watch. Then crossing her arms. “As far as how long we actually have. I’m not sure. I plan on calling her soon.”
“Have you seen her use her powers?”
Sara nodded. “Yesterday he made Ice and frost splatter in the face of an old friend of mine.” Sam didn’t need to know the exact name, Slade.. .. .. “Then on the way here, she got scared and nearly turned the entire back seat of the car to ice.”
Sara stood back and watched silently as Sam made a small figure dance and asked Airyn to show him. When the proof was right there, Sara couldn’t help but smile. Her eyes had completely softened and her pail cheeks pulled delicately at her lips. “Airyn. That is beautiful. Sam, I think she’ll be better than you.”

Breathing in as he saw her forming a flower around his dancing figuring Sam smiled and said, “She just might be one day Sara, granted she learns how to control it instead of letting it go to waste. Snapping his thumb to his middle finger the ice they were gathered around shattered into loosely packed ice crystals, which turned to a snow like substance of a few seconds then quickly, faded away. “That's very impressive,” looking to Sammy and nodding him over Sam crouched down and put a hand on Airyn’s shoulder as he activated his powers and had a minuscule ice shard cut a single strand of Airyn’s hair. “How old did you say you were?” Sam asked curiously as he stood up and did the same thing to his own hair and held the two strand in the palm of his hand.
Holding his hands out to Sammy, he looked to his son and whispered, “Mission time! I want you to take these two pieces of hair down to Doc okay? It’s super important level one priority okay? Tell him that I want a DNA test on these two strands okay?” The smile on his sons face widened until Sam could see the joy in his eyes. “Ready….GO!” Sam watched his son fly at top spend into the mansion as Sam crouched back down to Airyn, “Do you know what your mothers name is?” Sam asked stalling for time.
Sammy took off from where he was floating as fast as he could. ‘Level One missions are super important! Get there fast, DNA test! See gramps…’ with the hairs clutched in his hands Sammy flew as fast as he could to the Infirmary to see the old man. Manuvering through the opened window and then through a closed door Sammy looked back and gasped, “Level ONE MISSION!” he knew that his dad would be upset but level ones take priorities over the doors that were in the mansion. As he flew to the entrance Sammy shot straight through the large glass doors of the infirmary and gasped as glass shattered down to the floor, “GRAMPS!!!”
“Thought I asked you to stop calling me…. What did you do to the door?” proclaimed the doctor as he approached the energetic young boy and noticing the lack of blood on his person, ‘ he is Sam’s kid, only natural he has a thick skull…’ thought Doc as he picked a piece of glass from Sammy’s hair, “What do you need my’boy?”
Reaching out his hands to the doctor Sammy gasped for air, “Level One mission! Give you these two hairs for a DNA test!” as Sammy handed off the hair to the doc and was about to take off but the old man grabbed him by the back of the shirt and pulled him back down before he could fly off, “Ghaaa!! Dad said hurry back!”
Doc looked to the young boy and said, “It’s a DNA test it has results, which take a few minutes to get, so why don’t you spend some of that time cleaning the door you shattered…” handing the young boy a broom and dust pan Doc got to work on the hair, “Better not be another kid of his…” muttered Doc as he dropped the hairs into the solution.
