The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sebastian raised an eyebrow, not quite ready to believe that neither of the two others were injured at all. He still took a few moments to examine then, touching each of their hands and satisfied that they were healthy only when he felt that not a single spark of frigid healing energy was ready to jump from his fingertips into their bodies in search of injuries. His healing abilities were automatic, so if they didn't kick in it meant that the person, or people in this case, were physically fine.
He was a little worried about the white haired girl hiding behind his coat. She didn't seem to be dealing well with the shock of the situation. She seemed to have such a gentle soul and violence seemed completely contrary to her nature. It was only natural that she would be upset to have been involved in such a traumatic experience as an attacking mob. The trouble was that there was nothing Sebastian could do to heal that away again. All he could do to help relieve post traumatic stress was to make sure everyone's basic needs were met; safety, sustenance, and someone to talk to. The next step would be to speak to loved ones to let them know everyone was safe.
He got halfway through suggesting it, “If anyone has any loved ones they would like to call...” when the figure of a bald man appeared in the doorway. Seizure was the code name of this particular mansion resident, if the pale skinned immortal remembered correctly. Thus far he hadn't hadn't had much contact with the man, as he hadn't ever been sick or injured while Sebastian was on duty and the unicorn man had a bad habit of neglecting his social duties recently. He couldn't recall anything else about the man. Apparently he knew the white haired girl, though. And apparently her name was Maya. It was a pretty name. He smiled gently at the pair of them, glad that someone who so obviously cared for her was here to comfort her.
To his other two patients he stated, “As I was saying. If you need to inform anyone that you are safe, we have telephones and such.”

The man seemed to come from nowhere, rushing into the room and laying a hand on Ghost’s shoulder. Shin didn’t know him. The face seemed utterly unfamiliar, but the look on it was a caring one. The tensing in Shin’s shoulders slackened as he decided to regard him as ‘friend’ rather than foe. He seemed to know Ghost. That helped in the trust department. But he was calling her Maya. Was that her true name?
Shin’s eyes slipped down to the death grip on his arm. He turned his head to look at Ghost. He wondered what things were going through her mind now like moths around a lamp. Would she be drawn to the same question plaguing him, of how humans could do something so horrible to an innocent mutant? He inwardly shook his head, replying to the unicorn-man.
“Thanks… I think I’ll be fine… and…” Asian eyes fell back on the bald-man’s face with just enough suspicion to warrant a raised eyebrow. “And, hi… what’s your name?” Curiosity got the better of Shin once again.
Aura looked around, Ghost should have been fine, she was not quite sure why the girl still seemed like somthing was wrong. She let Sabastion do as he wished to check her, she knew she wa sok but she guessed the Doctor prolbely got people who lied to him as well. Aura herself had a bad habit of not showing up at the infirmery when she wa sinjured herself. Aura made a note to herself to try doing so next time she was hurt. "My Aura protects me from harm so a nights rest will return that" she said trying to assure the doctor.
A bald man came rushing into the room Aura had never scene before but the man seemed to know this one, even calling her by what Aura assumed was her name. Maya was a pretty name to Aura and she made sure to remmeber it. She was going to ask who the bald man was but Shin beat her to it. So instead Aura waited for an answer from the man and as she did her eyes again rested on ghost wondering just what was wrong.
The Humans would do what they could to harm innocent Mutants, proof aura felt, that they were mere animals trying to cling to a world that they could not accept they no longer ruled. So they lashed out and attacked that which was replaceing them, as Aura imagined it would always be. Their powers nature had chosen for them were what made them who they were and Aura felt the worst crime a human could make, is to wound a mutant.
When would it be okay again? When would it be okay again? The words ran through her mind like ticker tape printing the letters sloppily and fast. When would it be okay again? When would her trust be able to rebuild? "Maya, are you okay?" A voice. Hot like a knife and just as sterile and careful. It was certainly not a voice she excepted to hear after so long.
Poor Shin. He'd said he was uninjured, but as Ghost's panic increased so did her grip. Later she might apologize for the bruises she was surely leaving. But now...? The wetness of her eyes began to pool as she looked up at the man who walked away without so much as a goodbye. No word about where he went or if he was even alive.
A trust had been broken. On more than one account. And they all wanted to know the same thing. When would it be okay again?
"I don't know!" She leaned forward suddenly burying her face in Garrett's stomach and shirt. She didn't know. She couldn't think clearly. Ghost closed her eyes letting the moisture roll down her cheek until it made contact with the cotton of Garrett's shirt. "I'm sorry." For what, she wasn't sure. But she was.
One hand still gripped Shin's wrist as if she'd forgotten about it even though with her positioning it twisted awkwardly. The other arm held onto Garrett's legs, the only part of him that she could properly reach and use to press him toward herself. The coat was forgotten and crumpled in her lap only partially staying up by the merit of the stiff wool. She looked every bit the wreck she was. Still blood and grit and grime stained. Not that she could see that with her eyes closed and her face pressed close to Garrett.
What had happened to her? She was covered in filth and blood, something that only panicked Garrett further. Maya always kept herself groomed and clean. Her attention to little things was one of the many things he loved about her. Feeling her own panic as she buried her face into him made his nerves chime and frolic like savannah grasses in stern wind. He wrapped his own arms around her, holding her close as his own eyes welled up with sympathy and uncertainty. Of all the places and situations to be reunited with her, this was certainly not what either of them would have naturally chosen.
He heard her apologize before she crumpled against him. What on Earth for? he had been the one to leave, to hide himself from her due to his own misgivings of himself. Feeling her in his arms only bolstered the knowledge that he would never let that distance grow between them again, if he could salvage things once she was cleaned up and in better spirits. " There is nothing for you to be sorry for, dear.Just try to relax." His hand ran through the white, silken locks, hoping to soothe her somewhat.
The aforementioned two that he had never seen before were obviously noticing Garrett. They had protected her and brought her here. As Maya remained close, he turned to the one who spoke, the Asian boy." Thank you for helping her and keeping her safe. I am Garrett Wills. I live here at the Sanctuary. As Sebastian mentioned, there are phones here if you need to call people. Anything you need." His eyes turned back to the shivering cotton beneath him. He used one of his arms to pull the coat up over her shoulders somewhat, holding her again. The room faded in importance as he watched over her.

Sebastian sensed that what would be best would be to let Seizure comfort his friend. There wasn't much more he, Aura, and Shin could do to help her that Seizure wouldn't be able to handle. They must be friends from somewhere, and friends were more useful than people you just met in the comforting area.
“Perhaps some quiet time to rest would be best for you,” he addressed the girl Maya who was still huddled behind his coat. “Seizure, would you keep her company? Shin, Aura,” he addressed the other two in the room, “Let's get you two some food and water. You might not feel hungry now, but after a traumatic experience it is good to make sure you have nourishment, even if you don't feel like you need it.”
The unicorn shifter waved his hands to usher them into the hall, taking just a moment to help Shin untangle his wrist from Maya's grasp, she seemed to have forgotten she was hanging on to him so tightly. Then they were out in the hall, and Sebastian closed the door to the infirmary and turning the “I will return at ...” clock to forty five minutes past the current time, then led the way towards the cafeteria.
