The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"The Sanctuary eh?" Arielle glanced back over her shoulders towards the golden doors. "A place for mutants to go after being rejected by society..." she pondered on it for a bit and couldn't help but wonder if The Sanctuary was like the X-Mansion. If so, did they have their own team of selfless heroes? The Y-men or something? She'd have to look into it later, but for now, she wanted to go for a ride.
"Ah, well, ready to go? I am when you are," Arielle smiled walking and giving Geo a smack on the behind as she passed. "Lets go, rock boy. Show me how bad you shred up the roads!" she laughed hopping on to his bike.
Geo watched Arielle's face as she examined the Sanctuary, he wondered how long it would take her to learn who was really housed there. Maybe just until she ran into one of her fellow mutants and it became a topic of conversation. Then, maybe, she would realize who exactly Geo was.
He walked over to his bike, a smirk forming on his face as Arielle smacked his behind. He grabbed his leather jacket and pulled it on, not bothering to zip it up. He straddled the motorcycle and grabbed the helmet off of the handlebars and offered it to the woman. "Where do you want to go?"
"Doesn't matter where we go, wherever you want! Do be sure that we swing by a place to pick up a quick breakfast though. I'm starving," Arielle smiled placing the helmet of her head and wrapped her arms firmly around his torso for security.
"I've been to Time Square and Central park. Surprise me and take me somewhere I may not have been."
Geo turned the key on the bike and it roared to life, rumbling underneath them. He revved the engine a couple of times and yelled over the engine. "A surprise it is then," He then eased on the clutch and the two shot forward on the sidewalk, the surroundings became a blur as they gained speed. They continued down the sidewalk until pedestrians could be seen, Geo then turned onto the road, where the traffic had lowered significantly now that rush hour was over. The black motorcycle weaved around cars, skillfully avoiding hitting cars Geo went around the block and then back towards where he had came when he first left this morning.
Geo rushed down the road and a sign could be seen coming up that read 'Geo's Auto-body'. He pointed to it as they passed to show Arie where he lived, though continuing to go down the street knowing that it would gain him no points to stop there.
"WOOOOOOT!" Arielle screamed as Geo blazed down the streets. She had almost slipped off the bike when he weaved around the other vehicles on the road and she grabbed him tighter to make sure she wouldn't go flying. She smile cam across her lips as she spotted his Auto Shop and laughed.
"That's totally awesome. You ride bikes and you fix cars, and you seduce women. You really are a bad boy aren't you? Manipulating earth just adds to your rock tough persona, doesn't it?" she laughed again.
Geo placed his right hand momentarily on top of both of Arielle's when she tightened her grip to make sure she wouldn't slip, then placed his hand back on the handlebar. "Arie, I define bad boy," He joked, then as they turned onto a nearly clear street. He cranked the engine and the motorcycle pulled into a wheelie briefly then straightened out and shot forward at breakneck speed.
After a few more minutes of driving Geo slowed and pulled into a small diner located under an overpass. It was nearly empty, obviously not a popular place but Geo loved coming here to eat because it was secluded, and barely any humans came her. He killed the engine in the small parking lot next to the diner and looked over his shoulder at Arielle. "It's not a big famous restaurant but it's one of the best places i've ever eaten."
"It's all good," Arielle sighed hopping off the bike and removed the helmet while straightening out her hair. "Trust me, I know that the best places to eat aren't big and fancy. I ate at a lot of mini restaurants and food stands back at home.
When it really gets down to it, home style always trumps gourmet. At least in my opinion." she said slipping her hands into her back pockets and entered the little diner behind Geo. It reminded her of one of those little 50's diners with the counters, the stools and the benches. It definitely wasn't the most elegant of places to dine, but she found it cute and retro.
She walked over to a table and slid over into a booth, making herself comfortable. While she waited for the waitress, she attempted to jump start another conversation.
"So, I'm guessing from your little outburst back there, you had bad experiences with humans? Forgive me if I'm digging too much into your business. I'm just curious."
Geo slid into the booth across from Arielle, shrugging off his jacket and placing it on the seat next to him. She then asked the question he always dreaded but still felt obligated to answer. He placed his left elbow on the table and ran his right hand through his hair, "It was my father, when my powers manifested I was in a fight at school. I took out a wall of the school and when I got home and he was waiting for me. My father and I didn't even get along when i was human, only time we ever got along was in the garage, he tought me about cars. Long story short he beat me half to death. I just healed up when i got to the X-mansion, but i wasn't there more then a couple of days. I didn't feel like I belonged, I was indie up until the registration.
"Then i met the people at the Sanctuary, and as soon as the registration was lifted I payed my father a visit. Long story short now he's in a coma and I'm living at the Sanctuary." He sighed deeply then looked up at Arie, pulling on a fake smile.
"I'm sorry to hear that. That really is awful. I just don't see why anyone would ever beat their children...I wanna say that you deserved your revenge, but then again, when I think about it, two wrongs really don't make a right..." she trailed off, realizing what she just said was hypocritical. She couldn't wait to meet Aura again and give her the thrashing of her life. That wouldn't have been any better than Geo putting his father in a coma.
"I know what I just said may have sounded weak and stupid, but when I really think about it, when you've been hurt by someone, physically, emotionally or sometimes both which I'm sure is your case since he was your father, you have two choices. You can either harbor that hate inside and allow it to consume you which eventually turns you into a tyrannical monster, or you can just be the bigger person, forgive and forget. Because once you truly forgive a person, I think your mind, body, and soul would feel a whole lot lighter. I don't think you truly hate your father, or humans...do you? You've just been hurt and you harbor those negative feelings and refuse to let them go." Arielle finished and then sighed. Aura was probably right about her being preachy.
"I just try to find the good in everyone, you know? Even the darkest of hearts can be healed by love. You're not completely in the wrong because your father should have never been a scum bag and hit you and humans shouldn't hate us because we're different. It's just a messed up world which I hope will change and everyone will be accepted and celebrated for who they are."
Geo shifted uncomfortably in his seat, this subject had made him lose alot of friends, but why try to hide who he truly is? "Why should we treat the humans with respect when to them we are lower then dirt? Even with the X-dweebs trying to protect them and earn they're trust humans stab them in the back at the first sign of weakness. My father never loved me, I accept that, but to beat your son near death because he can make an earthquake if he accidentally falls and hits his head or accidentally crush the door knob because his hands turn to rock at random.
"There is no justification for the ways humans treat us and I always believe in Karma, if they treat us like the scum of the earth then I'm just carrying out the golden rule by returning the favor."
"Jesus..." Arielle sighed putting a hand to her forehead. "I know your father is wrong. I know humans are wrong. We tell them we want to be accepted for what we are and don't want to be treated like dirt, when some mutants in return treat them like dirt. Hypocrite much? Does hurting others truly make you feel better? I don't know. You remind me just like that girl I met with the Aura powers. Always talking trash about mutant supremacy and killing off all humans..." she sighed.
"It makes me sad if that's really what you think Geo. It really does."
Geo ran through his mind when she mentioned a mutant with aura powers. The way she spoke seemed like someone who would belong to the Order but it didn't seem like someone he knew. He figured this was a good time to change the subject, "Then lets change the subject before we ruin the moment, tell me about your past Arielle."
"There's nothing interesting about my past. I grew up in a happy family consisting of my parents and my brother. Nothing but sun and fun...though when I discovered my powers, I did feel a bit lonely. I mean, my parents freaked at first but they accepted me. Still, I never met another mutant in Brazil and if I did, I didn't know because they didn't showcase any kind of powers or physical mutations. I came here to be among my own kind and to learn to use my powers for good. Thus why I'm living at the X-mansion." Arielle said.
"So yes, I am an X-dweeb." she added poking out her tongue.
Geo hung his head and shook it slowly. Great, so she was an X-man, this was Deja all over again. He then looked up at the Brazilian beauty and raised his left eye brow. "So your an X'y and you didn't know about the sanctuary? Your new aren't you?" He quickly decided to change the subject before he regretted it. "So you have a brother huh, I have a sister, older or younger?"
It was then that the waitress finally showed up at they're table. She was a tall, middle aged, mildly attractive brunet. "What can I get you to drink?" She asked with a heavy Brooklyn accent. Geo didn't even bother looking away from Arie, "I'll have a pepsi." He said absent mindfully.
"I'll just have a glass of water with lemon please. Thank you." Arielle turned to smile to the brunette then returned to face Geo.
"Yes, I am new. I've only been there a month. No one there ever told me about this Sanctuary to stay at from time to time. Why? Don't tell me that place houses the X-men's mortal enemies or somethin." she smirked to the earth elemental. "And yes, my brother is two years younger than me. He can be a pain at times which is expected because we are siblings, but I still love him to death. Don't tell me you have issues with your sister. "
