The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Shin's face gave an unnoticeable twitch. Another mission? Okay.
>>"The point of this one was to treat it like a human being or even another mutant. Since we promote equality between humans and mutant kind us as X-men need to know how to win a fight without resorting to fatal measures." Streak started to explain. "Caging the person is a very good way to do it, and of course since this isn't a real person, all your normal tricks didn't work. But you did well coping with the situation and overcoming it to win the fight. And best of all the person would have lived." Streak finished. There was still one more simulation that he needed to run Shin through. "Wait down here and I'll be right back to help ya out with the last simulation."
"I figured as much." Shin nodded, holding his side. "Guess I found something I need to work on here with finding non-lethal means of take-down. What's the next mission?" Shin watched as Streak walked off and set it up, then came back and explained.
"Me, in charge of you? Alright. So the goal is to rescue the people, but from what? And just so I'm in the know, what powers do you have at your disposal?" Shin quested. Once he knew all the details, he gave a final nod and said he was ready for the simulation to start.

"Questions are always good Shin. Ya you're in charge of me, but don't get used to it." Streak added a smile with the last comment before continuing. Streak covered himself in silver and blades poked out a tiny bit. Not as much as when he was really mad or something but they were still there. He was getting better at controlling them. "I can create almost any type of weapon from this silver in my body. It's why I'm most people call me Streak. Short for Silver Streak." He thought he'd answered the questions throughly and it appeared that Shin was ready to start.
The simulation started without a hitch. The people continued milling about their business for about a minute before some of the holograms started to run away from the stairs and towards the exit. Now the chaos was about to start. Many more of the people didn't know what was going on but the did konw that they should probably be leaving. Many more started running around and before you could say "This way" everyone was running about like a fox was in the chicken coop. "Well let's see whatchu've got." Streak said to Shin as a Stalker bot reared its ugly head out of the lower station area.

The people scattered across the infrared scope of the Stalker robot's vision amid falling flecks of broken glass and metal. It raked its hands through the station's roof, tearing off a massive hunk of steel and hurling it at a train. The train fell on its side as the metal scraped by, sending off sparks.
Shin turned to Shawn and made an obscure Power Rangers Time Force reference. "Okay, Ransik. You help with crowd control here. I'm going to go see about finding a Big O to go crush that robot with..." By which he meant 'rush forward and start moving people towards the exit, bringing up big red makeshift shard arrows which above head-level and pointed towards escape'. The first three people vanished behind their backs as the robot stomped towards them. Shin turned to narrow his eyes at it.
"Big body, shiny blades..." He sent off a few slashes at its armor just to be sure. His triangles scratched it, but barely brought results. Feet moving along the station floor and around rubble, Shin kept the machine distracted while Streak helped with rescue. "You keep up what you're doing. I'll keep it busy! Excuse me, Miss." An old woman was shifted towards the correct path as he went by her. "Exit's that-a-way. Please be to hurrying." She escaped behind Streak as Shin turned back on the robot.
"Hey big guy, watch what I can do." Raising his hands, a storm of triangles exploded into being on either side of him. His hair fluttered softly in the breeze. "I'll bring up a barrier!" He shouted. The triangles arranged themselves into a thick wall in front of the robot. Shin kept his distance, taking step right or left as the robot drew closer. He kept his distance. It hadn't used beam weapons yet. Maybe it didn't have them. More and more triangles drew themselves into the makeshift collage wall.
Shin's brow was crinkled in concentration, wrapping up another two walls to hold it in place like a three-sided corral. The machine bashed its claws against the barriers, and with each bash Shin's concentration waned. He was still feeling the strain of the last two simulations. While killing it was out of the question this late in the game, at least... face stretching, dropping to one knee... he could hold it in place.

Streak started to irect traffic. People were running this way and that to try and get away from the robot. Fortunately they were more scared of the robot than they were of the silver mutant in front of them trying to get them out of there. They followed Streak's advice and headed towards the exit behind Streak.
Luckily this was an easy task and the silver man was able to keep an eye on Shin's progress. Or as it appeared, lack of progress. Shin looked like he could use some help and since Streak had gotten most of the people out of there already he shouted to him. "Shin! You can destroy that thing. It would make our lives a lot easier." If Shin or Streak destroyed it, that would be the end of the simulation and Shin would be done with his trials. If he needed the help he needed to say something and Streak would be there in a minute to help him out.

“I thought… the goal was… to save the most people, not kill the robot.” He shouted back, voice strained as the stalker hit the barrier again knocking off a few more shards. “But yes, destroying old rusty would make that job a lot easier…” Ripping his concentration to a new task, he started closing the shards in around the machine like a trash compactor. Sparks flew as its tail lashed. “Think you can chop off its head while I hold it in place?” A sweat drop fell to the floor as one leg caved in and the machine dropped to one knee. “Not sure how much damage your blades can do to it, though. The armor’s pretty thick!”
He was glad, though. From the corner of his eye, it looked like most of the people had followed Streak’s warnings and made it to the exits. This mission was still a success in his eyes, regardless of whether or not they took down the metal giant. Still, people like explosions. The robot’s arm popped as it split in two hammering a particularly sharp clump of barriers. The stalker raised its silver head and screamed.

Streak was glad that Shin understood what was being said. Although he did need to remember to explain things better next time. Streak started a very steady paced walk towards Shin and the robot. Seeing Shin start getting closer and closer to the ground was not a good sign. He didn't want Shin to pass out or something before the simulation ended. The silver man then formed a sword as he quickened his pace towards the robot.
He felt an offly lot like an executioner. Perhaps it was the sword. Perhaps it was the way the robot struggled to break away from its bonds. Or maybe it was the fact that it wasn't fighting him at the moment and just waiting for Streak to show up so that it could leave the simulation. The bladed silver man took a slight jump in the air and flew towards the robot. The blade was sharp and clean. The slice easily penetrated the robots neck. It's head then sailed through the air for a bit before rolling to the ground and disappearing. The simulation ended and Streak walked over to Shin. "Maybe I should have explained things better. The only reason I didn't want you killing the other robot was because it was supposed to be a person. This robot, however, was just that. A robot. And you could have killed it sooner." He held out a silver hand to help Shin up as he twirled the sword in his other hand. "Nicely done man. How do ya feel?"

His hand reached up to take Shawn’s as he was helped off the ground. He stood there a moment, teetering and regaining his balance. “A little lightheaded, actually. I would of killed the robot if I could of. Just because my shards might be sharp like razors and hard like diamonds doesn’t mean they can cut through everything… just most things.” Shin’s eyes narrowed as he said this. “I’m just glad I was able to hold it off and distract it while everyone made it to the exits. Would have been bad if it had gotten any further…”
He looked around the danger room where moments before, people had been scattering for their lives. “So how’d we do on the rescue count? I counted about ten on my end.” At least that many, anyways. His arrows had pointed to the exits. It was their fault if they didn’t follow the point of authority.

"Ok. That's understandable." Streak said to him. "We did good. I got most of the people out of the area. You wont ever get everyone out of the place. Mainly because some poeople are stupider than others and even if there is a giant arrow pointing to the exit, they wont run towards it. Don't worry about that though."
He'd been impressed since the beginning from what he'd seen. He had good control and there were a few things that needed work but so did everyone else on the team. No one was perfect and he couldn't expect anyone to do perfect on their audition for the team. "You did good today. Congrats. You're now an X-Men Trainee." Streak said smiling. The Danger Room was now settling down and returning to normal. Streak was doing the same and started to pull the silver back to its normal resting spot on his body, underneath his clothes. "Now go rest and you can celebrate your success later. You look exhausted." Streak said patting him on the back. "I've got a few things to do here but you can head out if you want."

"Great," Shin smiled. His job for the day was done. Now he'd be able to make a difference in the world, not that it mattered at the moment. He was beat. "Thanks for this, Shawn. I really appreciate you giving me a listen. Finally have some good news to give to Ghost. But first... later!" With a wave, he turned towards the exit and walked off. He'd earned that rest.
The bigger part of being an X-men trainee would be there for him after that, day to day and weighing down like an anchor on the back of the sea. There'd be responsibilities to fulfill, standards to maintain. Snuggling up bith a pillow in bed, his eyelids dropped thinking about it.
