The trip to the mansion was pretty short and peaceful because Devon was accompanied by his new friends. Devon didn't really like interacting with other people but there was something special about Arielle and Shin that made him open up more. He seemed to like the fact that they don't judge him and are willing to help which surprised Devon. Entering the grounds Devon looked at the marvelouse mansion which Devon looked in amazment. "I Never seen such a beautiful place" he said while putting his hands on his head. Even though Devon lived in a mansion with his uncle, this one was simply incomparable. Looking at the entrance to the building Devon looked at his surroundings to make sure he was safe.

"I want to thank you guys for helping a new mutant out, out of all the people I met you guys seem to be the nicest~" Devon paused when remembering his long friend Jacob, and how he missed him. "Jacob, I wish you were here, and trust me I will find you" he thought to himself. Shaking off the sadening thoughts and smiling at Arielle and Shin, Devon tightened up his hood around his shoulders and for the first time....he felt at home.

"It's no problem. You don't have to thank us. We're here to help," Arielle responded to Devon as she opened up the door to the Mansion and holding the door for Devon and Shin to enter. The sight of home was definitely relief and she was glad Devon decided to come with them instead of having to stay out longer and find him a hotel.

"Be right back, I'll go see if Streak and Sam are here. They're the ones who are suppose to settle the newbies in," Arielle smiled and immediately made her way to their office. She knocked on the door and waited for the response, she didn't get one. "They must be out..." she sighed and returned to Shin and Devon.

"I guess we're playing mansion greeter now, Shin." she laughed nervously.

In the minute when Arielle left, it was just Shin and Devon alone in the front hall. Shin stuck his thumbs in his pockets, shifting uneasily. “So…” He thought aloud, staring at the wall as the uncomfortable silence surrounded them. “How about them… Marlins… yeah… ohthankgodyourback.” He passed it off as a sneeze as Arielle popped back in.

"I guess we're playing mansion greeter now, Shin." she laughed nervously.

“Eheheh,” He returned the nervous gesture. “Not like I haven’t shown guys around before.” He turned to Devon. “So, I suppose we might as well start with the pool…”

After Arielle left, Devon was alone with Shin which he seemed awkward in some way. Shifting his eyes from Shin to the ceiling Devon crossed his legs and began to rock from side to side. “How about them… Marlins… yeah… ohthankgodyourback” Shin said as Arielle returned. Uncrossing his legs looking at them both strangely he slanted his eyes.

"I guess we're playing mansion greeter now, Shin." Arielle laughed nervously. Guessing that this wasn't simple procedure Devon I got a little worried. "Oh snap, these guys are going to lead me to my death" he thought while sighing. “So, I suppose we might as well start with the pool…” Devon jerked up and flipped his hair back. "Pool" he said while following Arielle and Shin.

"The Pool...right..." Arielle spoke putting a hand to her chin. "I suppose we can start there and just show you the little campus we have. Follow me," she smiled taking the lead and taking them out to the pool deck area.

"Forgive us since this isn't usually our job, Devon. So if I don't sound all that tour guideish, I'm sorry. I'm trying. But anyways, we have the pool!" Arielle out stretched her arms, showcasing the main attraction of the area. "I haven't gotten a chance to use it, but you better believe when it warms up, this is where I'll be. Summer is awesome. Then of course right next to it is the hot tub" she laughed a bit. "Yeah, and over there is the bar, and the grill." she pointed to the little structure that stood a few feet from the pool's edge. "Then, all around the deck, you have your lounging chairs to just kick back and relax. Basically the place is just chill. Yeah." she scratched her nose and looked over to Shin. "You're turn."

Raina had gotten word that a few new mutants may be turning up today and that someone had spotted Shin and Arielle out about the mansion grounds during a routine check. She couldn't be sure if they were with one of the registered new students or someone they'd invited themselves as students were taking that on a lot recently. Sam had been the one to set Arielle and Shin up at the mansion and Raina had only met Shin and it was only for a brief moment so she was currently scowering the mansion grounds with her clipboard and newbie pack. She tried very hard to remember what Shin looked like.

She chewed on her lip. She'd been so destracted latley with Luke and the Aquarium that she'd been neglecting her mansion duties. Finally she spotted a trio around the pool area. She winced reminding herself not to get wet. But at least she could see them now. She waved her arms around "Hey Shin!" she yelled. "Wait up!"

She scurried down a set of steps and ran along the snow walkway until she caught up with everyone. "Hey!" she gasped a little out of breath and took a moment to compose herself. "I'm Miss Raina, the music teacher here... I brought some stuff for our new guest." she looked them over. By name she knew Arielle was a girl... so that left the young man infront of her. "You must be our new student? I see Shin and Arielle have been showing you around. What do you think so far?"

“Hello again,” Shin smiled at Raina, turning towards her as she had called out to the group. He glanced at her, with her clipboard in hand. So professional.

"You must be our new student? I see Shin and Arielle have been showing you around. What do you think so far?" Raina had asked. Shin turned towards Devon, curious.

“Yeah, Devon. It’s a nice place, isn’t it?” The pool wasn’t bad, either.

In the pool area with Arielle and Shin, Devon was surprised at how boring yet interesting his tour was getting. Not really paying attention to Arielle Devon put his hands behind his back and kept looking into the snow on the walkway. Listening to Arielle inform about the pool area was slowly putting Devon to sleep, "I know where everything is Arielle, I have eyes you know" he said while widening his eyes in her direction. Hearing footsteps from behind Devon turned around with his chin upward, with a curious expression on his face.

"Hey Shin, wait up!" He heard as he shifted his eyes to Shin. "I guess shes here to bore me some more" he thought as she approached. "You must be our new student? I see Shin and Arielle have been showing you around. What do you think so far?" She asked as Devon was checking her out from head to toe. She had red hair and grey eyes which caught Devon's attention, and the fact that she called him student even though she looked the same age as him made him smile. After Shiro asked the same question Devon felt like all eyes were on him, which they were. "Nothing special, its a nice little place for mutants, and I'm sure it'll make a nice slaughter...." catching what he said he continued skeptically, "It will make a nice home." Thinking about the promise he made back in Florida with his friend, Devon sighed heavily, "A peaceful life, just be nice and don't make trouble" he thought while looking at everyone slowly.

"You don't really have to give me a full tour if you don't want, just show me to the bedroom and I'll get happy" he said. "Well not that way but you know what I mean" he said embarrassingly.

"I know where everything is Arielle, I have eyes you know"

"Right..." Arielle frowned slightly at Devon's rudeness. It just reminded her of her brother's smart mouth comments and her usuual reaction was a good thwap over his head. Luckily she restrained herself, remembering that Devon was just some guy new in town. That and Raina had shown up to greet the new boy.

"Hi Raina," Arielle smiled waving to the red headed woman and she stepped aside to let the mansion greeter do her job. An eyebrow was raised after hearing something about a slaughter coming from Devon's mouth but she shrugged it off.

Raina raised her eyebrow at Devon. "Oh Em's gonna have fun with you." she remarked thinking of how Devon might be taken down a notch by the fierce wolfy lady with little patience. "Anyway, I actually do have to show you around... and I've got some questions I need to ask you that you'll have to answer here." she passed the clipboard to him. "procedure. There's the general stuff, full name, age, allergies... that kinda thing... but we also need you to put down the details of your mutation and if you believe it would be a threat to you or anyone else." she stared at him seriously now. "No one will do anything to you... but for the safety of yourself and everyone in the mansion it's very important that the adminstration know this information. Especially if you decide you'd like to do some training for your gift. The information remains completley confidential and outside of these papers you are not under any obligations to tell mansion residences anything about your abilities. It's all up to you."

She seriously doubted Devon was the type of guy to care who knew what about him, but Raina worked very hard to maintain the seriousness of privacy. No mutant whether they were living with other mutant or not should feel pressures.

While Devon was occupied with the papers she turned her head to Arielle. "It's nice to actually meet you." she extended a hand. "I'm sorry I wasn't here when you arrived. I trust you've settled in well?"

That was Raina for you. Went from being cute little can't believe she's a teacher, to right on the ball.

Heh. Slaughter? Maybe he meant to say laughter. It’s a common typ—oh wait a minute. “Huh?” Shin blinked, turning to Arielle, who shrugged it off.

"Oh Em's gonna have fun with you." Raina said, eyebrow raised. Then right onto business, she went. Shin shrugged the whole ‘slaughter’ typo issue off for later. His first thought about Raina had been right. She was pretty darn professional. He crossed his arms and nodded through all that information, nearly nodding off while he waited.

”It's nice to actually meet you." Raina finished, extending a hand to Arielle. A sudden thought jogged in his memory. He raised a questing digit.

“Um… speaking of all that, have you seen Shawn around?” Shin glanced over his shoulder like the man might appear suddenly. “I kind of wanted to talk to him about ‘joining up’…”

After Raina handed Devon the papers he scammed the questions and slowly looked up at Raina. "I have to take this more seriously I guess, hell if they bring me to their home and treat me well I guess I'll be the best mutant I could be" he thought while smiling at them all. Looking back down at his papers Devon took the pencil and began filling in the blanks, his handwriting wasn't the most eligible craft in the world but it was readable. "Dang the last time I got asked this many questions was at my first job interview" Devon thought while giggling. Tuning in to their conversation a little Devon was finished filling out the paper.

Gently sitting the pencil onto the paper Devon felt enlightened and slightly perky. Wearing his old black cloak, skull crafted T-Shirt and partially ripped jeans Devon felt low class compared to the people around him. Examining his environment more closely he noticed that the snow was brighter then usual. Tucking the papers under his arm Devon leaned over and created three small snow balls that sparkled with light. "Launching them at Raina, Shin, then Arielle, Devon couldn't help but imagine their faces about to get hit!

"Yes I have. Thank you," Arielle smiled taking Raina's hand. "It's finally good to meet you too. I've heard nothing but good things and it's always great to meet other mutants whose gifts are water related. Well I suppose you're more ice, but that's just another phase of water. Did I mention how much I love mermaids?" Arielle laughed a bit. She really was glad to have finally met the music teacher and hoped to add her to her list of good friends with the other X-men she had met.

"By the way, you wouldn't happen to be needing an assistant or anything at the Aquarium would you? I love the ocean and sea life. It would mean so much if-" *SPLAT* the water elemental's words were cut short after feeling the cold impact of snow crash into the back of her head. "If I could be your assistant and help you out around there..." she finished and turned to Devon glaring. "You really don't want to start something you won't be able to finish." she spoke to the mutant troll.

Raina took the papers from Devon and smiled turning her attention back to Arielle. She was surprised Arielle knew about her secondary power but well... not that surprised given the proximity of the mansion. "I just got Leila a job there a few weeks ago-" she started answering the question about the Aquarium when a snowball hit Arielle signalling Raina to duck. She furrowed her brows but smiles at Arielle. "Looks like someone needs to calm down." she always liked reminding students of their place- even if they were close to her in age. Raina began to file the papers away in her bag and appeared to be absentmindedly humming. Of course, anything above regular speech caused the snow and ice to move in Raina's favour and currently it was silently twisting it's way around Devon's feet. There was no way he'd be able to take a single step without slipping on his butt. She grinned at Arielle.

"Well it looks like I'm finished here for now. If you'll send Devon to the admissions office on the first floor next to the main entrance I'd appreciate that- when he's finished of course. I'll assign him a room." she turned to Shin with an "oh!" she perked up. "Now that you mention it I did see Shawn wandering around not too far from here... I was a bit destracted trying to find you guys." she admitted. "but he's either just outside the door or in the main hall if you wanna follow and have a look. It would be good to get things set up with him." she gave a wave and a smile to the others and turned on her merry way.

“Thanks!” Shin called through cupped hands after her, then turned to Arielle and Devon, deftly ducking a shot. “And with that, I bid you adieu. Adieu, adieu, parting is such sweet sorrow… and all that. So later.” He shot Devon a smirk, then turned to make his exit

Destination: Just outside the door… or main hall. And off he went!
