“Beebeebeebeep beebeebeebeep beebeebeebeep!” An urgent beeping sound caused Shin to glance at his watch. He set his cookie try back down on the stool, waving to the others. “Well, it was nice meeting you Kala! I have to go check on the next batch of cookies. You folks can help yourselves to those ones over there! And make sure someone drinks the glass of milk! It builds strong bones, and so on and so on…” He clip-clomped up the stairs as he self-echoed the words.

The tray sat there in the center of the room, beckoning them with chocolate chips and nuts.

((OOC: I’m out of the thread for a bit. You people make yourselves cozy with the cookies. Shin might pop back in after he’s done checking on the second batch, but don’t worry about waiting up for him. ))

"Kara, beautiful name for a beautiful girl. Very nice to meet you," Arielle smiled and turned when she noticed Leila entering the room. "Ah, whats good girlfriend?" Arielle waved to Leila and awed at Sam giving her a bear hug.

"Fire and Earth? Cool...or should I say hot? Sam's powers would be 'cool'" the Brazilian chuckled a bit. And jumped upon hearing Shin's alarm. She shook her head at the asian while watching him dash off to check his cookies. He was such a goof, but that was what made him so lovable.

"Well I mean, since he told us to...." Arielle moved back over to the first batch of cookies Shin was holding. She took about 8 cookies and started nibbling on one. "I figure I can spoil myself. I was about to hit the Danger Room in a bit anyway to get a work out in. The calories will be burned by the time I get finished." she laughed nervously.

Leila was quickly embraced by Sam as she joined the others, she hugged him back softly. "Hey, I haven't seen you today!" she released him, keeping one firm grip on his hand as she looked over to the new girl, who had introduced herself as Kara, a Magma Elemental. That was interesting, she grinned at her. "That's a cool Ability." she said, truthfully. It was better then her own anyway.

She listened as everyone else started asking some questions, though she was paying more attention to Sam, looking at his every facial expressions from the corner of her eye. One of Kara's answers stunned her though. "Ah, sweet! I'm from Toronto too, I was born there, but I started moiving around the world at the age of two. My Aunt still lives there though, and so does my Maternal grandparents." she couldn't beleive that there were actually more Canadians here then herself.

She waved goodbye to Shin, and then looked at her Cell phone's clock. "I have to go too," she said, smiling at everyone. "It was really nice meeting you Kara, I'm sure we'll run into each other someday." she paused for a short second, turning her attention to Sam. "Are you up for dinner later?" she asked her boyfriend.

With a squeeze of his hand, she let go. "Bye guys!" she waved to the rest of the group, walking away slowly. She vanished in the Living Room again, grabbing her bag of stuff, then taking off for class.

As soon as Kara mentioned what she could do with her powers, Nathan perked up slightly. Her powers were slightly related to his own. He also had the strong urge to say, "Canada eh?" But he refrained from embarrassing himself.

Interested in Sam's comment but completely knowing he was kidding, Nathan decided to play on that fact a little bit. "Really? I might have to see this magma manipulation in action sometime then."

Sam mentioned getting Kara a room then. Having another idea Nathan said, "Hey Sam. Why don't I take Kara from here? I'm sure you're pretty busy with all your jobs and what not. And I'm perfectly capable of showing the girl to a room."

Seeing Sam and this other girl kiss Kara got a tad jealous but shook it off... After all there were a lot of other boys here. “I was just about to give her a tour of the mansion, and maybe get her into a room.” “Though I think we need a fire proof one, I saw what she could do and I have to say she might I have you a run for your money Nathan.”
Kara giving off a little chuckle looked over at Nathan and smiled

"Kara, beautiful name for a beautiful girl. Very nice to meet you,"
Kara blushed 'Aw this girl is really sweet' she thought to herself as her fake smiled turned into a real one.

Kara shrugged "I guess..." The thought of having the ability still wasn't copeing with Kara's mind... Sure it's been a couple of months but she still didn't like the fact she was a mutant. "Really? I might have to see this magma manipulation in action sometime then." Kara blushed 'Hrm....' Kara didn't know what to think at this point about Nathan, he seemed like a nice guy, cute, and seemed liked a guy she can fool around with... But is that what she really wanted now? she can start over and that doesn't have to mean she should be the little vixen she used to be back at home...

Kara's face turned pink at this point 'Wow... so he might be interested... ca-chingg' she chuckled to herself then turned to face Sam.

Sam smiled to Leila and nodded, “Of course” he waved as she left which was followed up with a wave and a “see ya” for Shin, the amazing Christmas cookie maker. Looking at the group it was just him Arielle, Nathan and Kara, ‘maybe I can get this tour done before dinner’ thought Sam as he continued to think about dinner with his girl.

Sam looked to Kara to see her face turn pink and light up with a smile; ‘this is a bad idea’ thought Sam, ‘should I warn him about her?’ then he looked over to Arielle and gave a quick smirk and then said, “That…sounds alright to me… I do have some paperwork to do…” Sam pulled out the paperwork and handed them to Nathan, then turning to Kara Sam gave he a big smile and said, “Welcome to the Mansion, if you need me my office is right down the hall.”

Looking back to Nathan Sam smiled and walked over to him winked and whispered so only Nathan could hear, “Careful with this one…” he then walked Arielle’s way and silently mouthed, ‘Keep an eye on her…’ and then gave her a small nod and walked off to his office.

Sure Sam could be paranoid but he was not only worried bout Nathan for Nathan’s sake but for Ali’s sake as well. From what he saw Kara was a flirt and a good one at that. Last thing he wants is his friend getting into trouble.

Arielle happily munched on her cookies and definitely agreed that Shin knew how to throw down when it came to baking. She watched Sam hand the papers to Nathan and then glanced at the ice mutant as he approached her. Reading his lips, she blinked and nodded back to him also even though she didn't have a clue what he was talking about. Keep an eye on her for what? Then she looked over at Kara and noticed a rather happy look on her face as well as the blushing.

"Oh..." Arielle said with a mouth full of cookies. She didn't catch on at first but she could tell that magma girl was itching to make heat with Nathan. Obviously Sam wanted to prevent that from happening. The last thing needed was mutant drama between Kara, Nathan and his girlfriend Ali. The whole mansion would go up in flames. Literally.

Arielle swallowed her cookie and said "I can put that Danger Room session off for a bit. I'll help you Nathan." she smiled. She didn't want Nathan to be stuck in a situation that was bound to happen had she left him alone with Kara. At least she'd try her best. If the mansion did end up getting burned down, she'd just move in with Aiden. Simple as that.

Nathan couldn't understand why the girl Kara was blushing. He hadn't said anything that would embarrass her. Or at least he didn't think he had. Nathan was pretty much a fish out of water when it came to girls. Ali seemed to be the only exception to the rule.

The fire elemental grabbed the offerred papers and started to look them over when when Sam whispered. That made Nathan even more confused than he was originally. But he decided he might as well play along with it. Arielle seemed to want to help to. Nathan didn't have a problem with that but he figured that he was capable of assigning a new student to their room.

"Alright then. Would you like to see the rooms right now Kara or do you want to finish the paper work instead?"

“Welcome to the Mansion, if you need me my office is right down the hall.” As Sam walked away Kara yelled out "Thanks for everything Sam!" smiling she turned to Nathan and Arielle.

"I can put that Danger Room session off for a bit. I'll help you Nathan." still smiling Kara looked over to Arielle, 'what a little shovle' she thought to herself as she didn't want Arielle assisting her and Nathan.

Kara smiled then walked over to a banister. "I just really need one of you to assist me to my room... and since Nathan asked first I'm sure he's more than capable enough to do it himself." Still smiling Kara darted a look at Arielle then made a bright smile for Nathan.

"Alright then. Would you like to see the rooms right now Kara or do you want to finish the paper work instead?" Looking over at Arielle Kara smiled then looked back over to Nathan "I'd actually really like you to take me to my room get settled in and stuff" she gave off a slight grin to Nathan making her way to the stairs.

"Mmmhmm..." Arielle crossed her arms and tapped her foot lightly eyeing the new little Magma manipulator. Then there was that look Lara threw her way. Arielle knew that look all too well. Still, it was nothing to make a fuss over. She just smiled back sweetly at the girl.

"Alright Kara. Just come and find me later. We can hang out later. Maybe hit the mall or something." she offered. After all, Arielle was sure Kara would need some fresh air after being shot down by Nathan. Seconds later, Arielle felt her back pocket vibrating. Reaching into it, Arielle removed her phone and saw Aiden's name on the caller ID.

"Oh yeah, I'll definitely have to catch you guys later. Have fun Nathan," Arielle laughed walking away off towards the living room to take the phone call from her beau.

Apparently whoever called Arielle was more important than helping Kara to her room and getting her settled in. Nathan shrugged his shoulders not really caring one way or another. Sam's warning still rang in his head though.

Nathan really didn't understand the exchange between Kara and Arielle either but girls weren't made for understanding in his experience. He recalled a book had read that mentioned something funny about that. 'It's better to try and understand the sun than a woman.' Of course the book's setting was somewhat medieval which would account for the sun reference.

"Bye Arielle," he said waving. Turning back to Kara, he made his way up the stairs. "No problem."
