Luke

HISTORY: As a child Luke Jacobs was sent off to Europe to go to school. His mother had run off not long after he was born and his father had killed himself right around Luke's second birthday. Oliver Jacobs, Luke's uncle was made guardian but rather than spend time with the child he put the family's money to use by sending him off to Europe. This allowed Oliver to watch over 'Jacobs & Jacobs Security' without being pestered by the little brat as he so affectionately called Luke.

After graduated from school, Luke backpacked across Europe learning about the people as well as his own special ability. Though blind, his sonar allowed him to function as well and perhaps even better than those with vision.

After seeing the way crime affected even the lowliest farmer, Luke set out to do something about it. While going to business school in order to give himself a reason to return to the state, Luke also received training in Bartitsu. Bartitsu is a mixed martial arts that combines the best of Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, and both Baton & Staff combat.

After returning to New York, Luke created the costumed identify of Wraith in order to strike fear into the hearts of the criminal element. Though not yet well known, Wraith's fame has been growing as time passed,.

Luke is now a proud member of the X-Men and has also become friends with mutants outside of the group. Though sometimes people misunderstand his kindness and generosity and even think that he's weak because of it, he has a steely resolve and backbone that let him face down whatever situation comes his way.


POWERS: Luke's original mutation was a sonar sense that allowed him to see, even though his eyes were blind. The most useful thing about this mutation is his ability to see 360^o around him during battle. Luke has also discovered that with the utmost concentration, and with his sonar at maximum power, he can see through cloth, drywall and other similar objects. However, his sonar cannot penetrate through concrete or any type of metal.

Luke has a new secondary mutation that will be unveiled soon, but has not yet shown itself in any threads.

When a masked crime fighter is on the loose, it seems almost necessary for a masked villain to appear. Is it actually the hero that bring out the worst in people or would these criminals have shown up even if the hero was not present?

Congrats, Luke. You're one of those players where I feel like you've been around forever, and am constantly surprised to remember that you were new not so long ago. I think everyone will agree that your cordiality on the Cbox--and your nearly miraculous ability to have a compliment about every players' current threads--has done nothing but raise the bar on an already welcoming site. I'm glad you found us, Mr. Jacobs, and your little alter-ego Wraith, too.

I agree with Calley! You're such a treat to RP with and such a sincere and kind person. It's so refreshing and it really translates to all of us on the site new and old. You show dedication to the site and you've been an awesome addition to the MOD team. And not to mention, Raina totally swoons over you.

I have to agree. Not many people can manage to push Sara's buttons, have a verbal argument and still be nice and still make things work. I enjoy all the quirks Luke has gotten as much as I enjoy taking and playing with, or destroying your characters' things. and you're still a good sport at even that!
