The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The sound of her heels clicking against the floor with every step taken, Arielle released a rather loud and over exaggerated yawn as she strolled down the halls of the mansion. She wasn't heading to any location in particular. The place was so large, she could just walk around to kill some boredom.
"I hope Sam talked to whoever he was supposed to about my training," she sighed. She couldn't wait to become a trainee and get to tag along on missions. Going out to eat and shopping were nice activities, but traveling around the world and kicking ass to serve justice would be awesome too.
"Heh, so bored..." she groaned again leaning against the wall. After pausing in her foot steps, she could hear another set not too far behind her. A devious grin came across her lips. She was bored and willing to get a kick and laugh, even at someone's expense. It wasn't long before she had decided to melt herself into a puddle of water and flowed over into the center. She loved all those comedy shows where people sent in videos of people falling and tripping over stuff.
"Slip in slide" she conscious thought and chuckled, as she waited over her victim of her prank.

Shawn was walking along the hallway. There were plenty of people around, as usual, and he wasn't paying much attention to where he was going. He did this a lot wherever he was walking around the mansion. It seemed like he'd been here so long that he knew the place like the back of his hand. Of course there were always surprises from the younger mutants playing pranks around every corner.
As such he wasn't paying attention to anything on the floor when he rounded the corner. Shawn suddenly found his feet out from under him as he quickly headed towards the ground. "Whoa." He exclaimed as he landed in a giant puddle. "What the heck? How'd this puddle get here?" He asked no one in particular. Shawn was completely soaked in the water by now. He started to get up and out of the puddle when he looked around and noticed that the puddle was concentrated in this area and no where else. "That's very odd." he said looking the puddle over.
"Nice, got one," Arielle laughed as Shawn found himself on his back and soaked. She laughed watching him get back to his feet and she resumed her solid human form, smiling innocently at Shawn.
"Sorry," she laughed. "You're not hurt are you? I was just having a bit of fun. I hope you're not upset," she added. "Then again, I doubt you'd be hurt from a little slip like that. You seem like you can take a hit or two," she have Shawn a light nudge in the arm with her fist. "I don't think I've seen you before," she spoke. She would have remembered if she did. He looked around her age or so.
"The name is Arielle, and again I'm sorry." she said extending her hand for a shake, hoping this new guy wasn't a sour puss.

Shawn smiled as he saw the puddle turn into a person. A young woman to be exact. "Na I'm fine. It takes a bit more than a slip to hurt me." Shawn said now laughing slightly. She then nudged him on the shoulder. "You're right I can." he replied. The silver eyed mutant looked her up and down. He didn't figure he needed to be discreet, especially since he was meeting her for the first time.
He reached out and shook her hand. "Names Streak. Well that's what everyone calls me. But my real name is Shawn. You don't have to keep apologizing it's okay." Shawn said to Arielle. "Arielle huh? Like from the Little Mermaid? Very appropriate. I'm guessing you're parents had a sense of humor or they liked that movie a lot." Shawn wasn't one to hold grudges especially over a little joke.
Arielle smiled and laughed at Shawn's comment about her name. "Well, I know my mother found the movie to be cute and we did live close to the beach back in Brazil, so maybe thats why I was named Arielle. I don't think they had any intentions of me being able to turn into becoming a mutant who's powers are water based. I don't mind the coincidence. I've dyed my hair red before too," she smiled back warmly to Shawn.
"You're eyes are beautiful by the way. I've never seen anyone with silver eyes before. They're like hypnotizing. Not in a bad way though, I just like looking at them cause they're so cool. Better than my dull brown ones," she sighed. "So, what do you do around here Shawn, or Streak? Why do they call you Streak? Your power isn't running through public nude is it?" she laughed lamely at her corny pun. "Just joking, but seriously, whats up with you?"

We don't usually have foreign students here. They're mostly all from the states. He thought after she'd mentioned that she was Brazilian. "Well you wouldn't be the only one with red hair though. It must be something with the water mutations. Raina has red hair also." Streak said a little jokingly. Arielle then began talking again, this time about his eyes. He'd had a lot of different comments about his eyes, some good and some bad but mostly good.
"Thanks." Streak said blushing a little. "The general consensus is that people like 'em. And so do I." he said very matter-of-factly. He then decided to answer her question. "Yes it is." He said smiling and winking at her. "No it's not. I'm just kidding. It's short for Silver Streak. My powers are a little more complicated to explain than yours are. Basically I control the silver in my body and can make it do pretty much whatever I want it to." Streak then turned to her next question. "Well I do quite a few things. Ya know, Jack of all Trades, Master of None type of thing. Like, carpenter whenever the mansion needs rebuilding, which seems to be quite a lot. In fact I'm getting pretty close to convinced that there's a big flier being passed out that says 'Please destroy this place by any means.' But my main jobs are Mansion Greeter along with a few other of the people here. I'm also the head of security around the mansion. And X-Man recruiter." He mentioned the last as an after thought. He didn't go around advertising it because he wanted people to take the initiative to come to him about joining the team and not the other way around. In his opinion he went around advertising it he people may think the team is desperate for people and if their were any spies, which seemed likely after the Order crashed the party, the probability was very high and the last thing the team needed was that information getting out whether it was true or not. "So that's basically the deal with me. How about you? Why'd you come here?" he asked turning the tables on her because his curiosity was peaked at what she can do.

"That's like the 50th time someone asked me that question," Arielle laughed. "Why did I come here? Well, to put it short and sweet, I came here so I can be in a place where I'm accepted for being a mutant and so I may learn to hone my powers and grow," she smiled.
"So you recruit people for the X-men? It's lucky that I bumped into you. I had lunch with Sam like a day ago and I told him I was interesting in joining," she said and pressed a finger on Shawn's lips before he could reply.
"I already know what you're going to ask. Why do I want to join the X-men? Because I want to use my gifts to protect others. I have them, I might as well use them to help make the world a better place, right? Then there's the whole thing about how humans thing mutants are the worst thing since the AIDS virus. I want to help bring tolerance to the world. To show that mutants are just the same as humans. We just have an extra bit of spice in our genes that gives us extra abilities. And I know that it takes a long time to become a full fledged X-men and that I'll need a lot of training. I'm willing to go through it. Sam said he'd need to talk to someone else about me going into training. I don't know if he has yet, but I'm glad I've gotten to talk you."

"Well. people here are just curious about others. And some of the us older guys tend to be a little more suspicious of others. We tend to draw the attention of some foes every now and then." He said to her. She continued talking. She seemed like a nice person but then again lots of people do at the mansion.
Shawn nodded his affirmation when the Arielle asked him about being an recruiter. She surprised him when she put a finger on his lips to stop him from talking. It wasn't something that happened a lot especially when it had to do with his job and team. How does she know I don't bite? he thought amused as she started explaining why she was interested in joining the team. She had some good answers. Better than Blake's answer's when he'd interviewed him.
Of course she was much more attractive than Blake was, even though that didn't matter in the interview, but it made the conversation easier. He removed her finger from his lips so that he could talk. "No Sam hasn't talked to me about you yet. But we'll talk and then one of us will let you know what the deal is. Ok? But now that I've talked to you I'll at least know who he's talking about when he mentions you." Streak told her. "So, why don't we go for a walk and you can tell me everything that CS has asked you about the team and your powers and yadda yadda. How's that sound?" He said giving her a little smile.

"Sounds great," Arielle smiled back to Shawn as they began to walk down the hall. She began to speak about what Shawn wanted to hear.
"Sam didn't say to much to me about the X-men, which I understand since I figure you're trying to keep yourselves under wraps. Just that you guys help anyone you can and that you try to find middle ground between humans and mutants. Then he told me about how long it takes to become one and how much training I'll need, which I respect. I want to join because I need a purpose in my life. I know you probably get that from a lot of people who want to join, but I truly mean that. I could have easily stayed back home in Brazil, but I came here. So far I love it. I mean, besides the cold temperatures. Still, the snow is gorgeous." she laughed and continued.
"And naturally, I can sneak or rather 'leak' into places. I'd be a really good spy for you guys on missions. No one ever suspects the puddle, as you know first hand cause you slipped in me." she laughed.
"As for my powers, well you've seen a brief demonstration. I can turn myself into water. I thought it as kind of lame at first, then I started figuring out all the things I could do. Like if I use enough pressure, I can cut and smash through some things. And of course jetting myself through the streets like water from a hydrant, I can get some serious speed. Those are all good for fighting. As for stealth, I'm skilled at that as well. I can sneak, or rather 'leak' into places. No one ever suspects the puddle...much anyway." Arielle laughed.

Streak listened to her. She was answering all the questions that he might have had for her. Arielle seemed to know exactly what he was looking for with her answers. They were clear and concise. "Ya it does take a while to become a full X-Men but it's a good goal to work on. I usually recommend those that want to join the team be living at the mansion for more time than you currently have. It's not a requirement I just prefer that. It makes things easier if people around the mansion know you well and are willing to vouch for you." He told her as a fair warning.
"Ya it's apparent that you can easily be over looked. But then again who would not grab a mop and mop you up. You underestimate the observance of other mutants or just plain suspicious people." He mentioned. Shawn didn't want to put down her powers at all, in fact they were very cool, but he had yet to see the practicality and helpfulness of her powers to a team like the xmen. "That's very interesting." He said musing and thinking about how useful her speed could be. Streak laughed with her. It was true that any normal person wouldn't suspect a puddle of being a mutant. However, many of the Order were smarter than that and would suspect everything and anything. He didn't want to burst her bubble, however, and thought it was better to keep that private for now. "What about weaknesses. I would assume that you are affected by heat and cold when you're a puddle. Am I right? Is there anything else?" he asked her. He knew the value of knowing others weaknesses as well as his own.

Arielle blinked and cringed at the thought of being mopped up. She definitely hadn't thought about that one and then Shawn asked about her weaknesses. Something she rarely ever thought about.
"Yeah, extreme heat might be a problem and I already know that cold would be too. And I don't even want to think about electricity...." she hugged her self and shivered at the thought.
"I'm wasn't trying to come off cocky or anything either. Water is a powerful force, but I know that there are stronger mutants out there who could take me out. I doubt I'd survive a fight with Sam. I'd be nothing but a block of ice after that battle," she laughed.
"Heck, it doesn't even have to be a mutant. A human can take me out if they were to hit me with an electric taser or something," she sighed. "I suppose that's another thing I'll have to learn if I wanna join the team. To not only be aware of my strengths, but my weaknesses too. I'd have to be on my guard and keep a clear head at all times. Being all big headed doesn't do anything but lead to disaster, which is the last thing I'd want to happen. Not only for my safety, but for others as well. I'm not the only one who can be affected by my decisions. And I don't want anyone to become hurt on my account."

Shawn was glad that she was acknowledging her weaknesses so readily. Not everyone was able to do that. Some didn't want to admit that they had weaknesses, himself included sometimes, but everyone had them and they needed to be recognized. "Don't worry. You're supposed to brag about yourself when you talk about your strengths. I know what you mean. I don't want to brag but I'm hard pressed to find someone that can exploit my weaknesses." He laughed at her comments and tried to imagine her as a block of ice.
Streak hadn't even thought of electricity with her. However, that was something that he could see being a big hit for her. "On the team we try to know both sides of everyone powers so that we can cover each others weaknesses in battle. Unfortunately it doesn' always work out that way." He said absentmindedly rubbing his leg that was broken in the battle. "You want to talk about big heads that would be Sam. However, he can back most of it up. And so can I." He told her. Shawn was enjoying the chat with her because she had some very interesting things to say. For the most part Arielle sounded as if she'd practiced this a little.
"I see," Arielle grinned as Shawn talked about his and Sam's big heads. "Don't tell me that now. I might be at a disadvantage against cold, and however your powers work, I'm sure you're far more superior in battle because you have way more experience than me, but that doesn't mean I won't challenge you two to a face off in the danger room..." she grinned.
"In fact, that sounds like a fun idea. You guys need to see what I'm made of right? If I can handle the training of whats to come if I want to be one of the X-men? I might be at a disadvantage, but I don't see the harm in a little sparring. I like challenges anyway. Maybe a little hand to hand combat training too. I practice a bit of capoeria myself. Come on, Shawn, please?" she pleaded attempting to make puppy dog eyes.

"You can always consider it a training before you join the team. It's best if you do that cause we can see how you're progressing. You obviously don't know me and Sam very well cause we're always up to a challenge. I'll have Sam set it up and I'll see if I can join you. I've got other things that will need my attention as well but I can try to get in on your sparring match." Streak said smiling at her.
She then started pleading with him. Arielle's attempt a puppy dog eyes had Shawn laugh. It was cute but funny. "I don't know that style of fighting but if you can fight with it then it should work. We also teach other fighting styles if you want but that would Sam's area not mine. I'll see what I can do." He finally said after he stopped laughing at her puppy dog eyes.

"Excellent. I'll be looking forward to it," Arielle laughed as Shawn laughed. "I know you guys are stronger, but don't underestimate me. I have tricks of my own," she shook a finger to the silver eyed boy. Indeed she did. She didn't have to use raw power against Shawn and Sam. Being guys, she already figured that they'd be at a slight disadvantage against her feminine charm and beauty.
"I can not wait. I've been craving some action lately," she grinned pounding her fist into her other hand. "I can't stand sitting around this mansion all day long doing nothing. The sooner we have his match the better. Don't let the looks fool you. I might like shopping, but I like a good brawl too."
