CharacterPersonality:
Edmund has been inhabiting the body of Megan Sato for quite some time now, and slowly but surely he is forgetting who he is and becoming more like the Megan the memories seeping over into his consciousness remembers. (This will all be further explained by the mutations section ... trust me, just go with it ^^) This body was the first of the female type he had jumped into and at first he acted just like his usual self, obnoxious, opinionated, full of unwarranted and exaggerated self-worth. Of course, very quickly he realised that in the body of a young Asian-American like Ms. Sato he could not act like he usual self with out getting noticed and gaining odd-looks. So instead he created a personality he thought matched his new looks.
Edmund's Megan is an enigma shall we say. She comes across as a nice enough girl, polite most of the time, courteous 'like her parents taught her she should be'. Although, sometimes she is a bit hard to live with in the sense that people expect some kind of giggling Japanese girl and they get someone often more opinionated than they are. Well... it would naturally be impossible for Edmund to act flawlessly constantly, little bits of his own personality do leak through for time to time. Essentially this mix of personalities created a young woman who could at one moment could be the stereotypical spunky Asian girl, and the next seem far too mature for her age, wise beyond her years. Normally it would matter, maybe she just is a mature person one might suggest, however the fact of the matter is no one should know as much as she does. She can act like a young person but often comes across as aloof almost.
As residual memories from before the mind transferral began to leak through and mix with his own memories, thoughts and opinions he had to wonder whether the reason he did or thought something was something he would dream up or something Megan would. It seems he is acting far more naturally, freely like his new appearance would dictate and often now the blend is so far along he frequently finds himself forgetting that he is some sort of die-hard self-preservationist and actually believes the 'lie' he is spreading. He is wanting less and less to have vengeance, bordering on fanatic obsession, on the people who killed his original body, and more and more finding himself wanting to forget and just live a normal life as Megan Sato. The later is beginning to seem more appealing, and even though he knows he should hate the idea he ... he doesn't.
He is losing his grip, and will soon, too soon, become just another twenty-something Asian girl. Although he wasn't that stable before had, so many personalities have been imprinted on his mind he
always has a hard time. Relatively speaking, after 50 something years of hopping from person to person he's not as sane or 'secure' as he once may have been.
Hobbies/ Interests:
When he had his own body he enjoyed typical men's past-times such as hunting, fencing, reading, things than men of the 20's and 30's would have enjoyed, but times have changed. Now he finds himself an amalgamation of personalities he has picked up from previous host bodies. At the moment Megan's hobbies mainly revolved around her being with her friends and seizing the day as it were, thrill seeking or just hanging out perhaps, on the other hand she does enjoy being a designer for herself and others, outfits, full looks, you name it.
Job or part time job and description: N/A
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Spiders oddly, being lost, of course, being stuck in this body is both a concern and a fear for Edmund yet as Megan he is beginning to lose this fear and think of survival more as instinct than anything else.
Special talents: An eye for putting together an outfit, artistic.
MoralityNeutral
MutationsMutation description:Passing her by in the street one might be excused for not realising Megan Sato is not who she seems, rather she is no more than an 'empty vessel' inhabited by the consciousness, mind and soul of a man once known as Edmund Eaton. Primarily Edmund's abilities revolved around one skill, which was as follows:
Mind Transferral - Simply put he can transfer his mind from one body to another, through a kind of 'spiritual transferral'. Sounds simple enough right? Well, yeah, but there's one little.. okay, one major catch. The displaced conciousness ordinarily would inhabit his body until they switch back, of course since his original bodies death, the disembodied spirit has no where to go and will die. On top of this such a transfer can now only be initiated once his current body dies or is damaged 'too much'. Scientifically it is the messages sent to and from the brain during a time of crisis that sparks his powers into life, and otherwise they are inaccessible. Another side effect of the nature of the transfer is that the targets brain will still hold residual memories and thoughts for a while after, which may or may not invade his own causing all manner of problems. As well as this, If the target had the x-gene any abilities will remain as they are to do with DNA, though in this case he will have little to no control over said powers as he will be entirely new to them.
He will not hesitate to use his power as a way to escape his demise, or capture by an opponent, or whatever the reason for that matter. Let me explain. If he is still inside a body that is not his own when it dies, the shock of the connection being severed so suddenly would cause a feedback, leaving him dead. He cannot however survive as a free floating, disembodied consciousness for more than a minute or so, at most even that is a stretch, he must have a vessel to move into.
Strengths: Good for cheating in bad situations, that may otherwise result in death or serious hurt.
Weaknesses: Completely inaccessible and unusable as of the present time.
Secondary mutation description:Since taking over the body of Ms. Sato however, Edmund has lost his ability to transfer himself between bodies leaving him stuck. It is possible that a powerful psychic or mutant with other mind based abilities may be able to dislodge him from her, yet, there is a problem with this reasoning which will now be explained.. The reason behind this situation is that Megan has what was effectively an 'invisible mind' due to her mental link to the void dimension she is linked to. Without going into too many details, what this meant was once he had taken over her body he was unable to access his own mind as if her invisibility was locking his powers away from him. It seems Megan was a lot smarter than he first took her for. The practical up shoot of this is that if Megan's body dies he will go with it, whether he wants to transfer himself into someone else or not. A bit of a problem really huh...
On the plus side however, he is able to stay under the radar of nosey psychics and has gained the following power from her:
Dimensional gateway – Megan's abilities consist of opening permanent gateways to what appears to be a supposedly harmless “void” space all of her own. These however cannot be free standing and must be grounded to pre-existing object of this universe. Typically she might line the pockets of her jackets with such a gateway, or, one of her prouder creations, a bottomless backpack. Simple but effective. Of course, Megan has lost track of many of the things sitting in her void dimension, and could pull all manner of strange things from her bag or pockets. She likes to think of it as a lucky dip. Although, creating the gateways takes a huge amount of energy, as you might assume from attempting to rip a hole between our own and the Megan's dimension, don't even get me started on what it takes to bind such a gateway to an object. Put it this way, after creating one there's precious all energy left to do anything other than sleep really.
Strengths: Appears to be no limit to the space within this void of hers which allows for the storage of many different things.
Weaknesses: If she can get said object past the event horizon (the width of a pocket, or a bag's mouth) then it can be placed in the other dimension. So no hiding a car in her jacket pocket. Things sit occupy the space they would outside the “void” dimension as inside.
Fighting StyleExplanation: Through many years of life in the bodies of others, Edmund has picked up a variety of styles from various martial arts trained people he has inhabited. However, he has had no formal training himself, aside from fencing, so they are a mere amalgamation of vague memories of the styles. More of a street fighter than anything specific, but styles may or may not include a number of forms of westernised martial arts, jujitsu, Tai chi, Thai boxing and others.
Pros for fighting style: Isn't all that useless in a fight be any stretch.
Cons for fighting style: Not being routed in any one style, and simply performing moves from the memories of past 'victims' as it were, causes a very haphazard style, more likely to hurt himself' than the opponent.
Faction AllegianceUnaffiliated.
History:The story starts in 1924, the roaring twenties, the golden age of jazz and the hedonistic life style with the birth of the English gentleman, Edmund Eaton. Of course back in his youth he was know as little Eddie. He was the kind of kid with parents who would give him anything regardless of whether they had the money or not, although for the most part they actually had more than enough to look after him, after all they were successful ... something or others. Edmund never really found out what they did. His father seemed to write a lot and his mother tended to stretch out across the couch and giggle incessantly with her 'important friends'. Then again it was the twenties, there may not have been much money around after the great war, but some how someone found a way to make enough for this new trend of excess. “It paid to have friends in high places” was one phrase that has stuck in Edmund's mind since those days all those decades a go. Such was their situation, Edmund never would have needed to work if he didn't feel like it but he found it incredibly rude to leech of his parents when he could be earning his own millions.
To this effect, when he had amassed enough money working for his father's 'special' friends, he hopped on a passenger ship headed for the United States of America. Following the American dream! That's what he wanted. And indeed it worked out for a number of years, he turned to law, the stock market, made a decent earning. Until one day he found he was different to normal people. Indeed 22 is quite an old age to discover one is a mutant, but back in those days their type weren't all that common. He had a hell of a lot of fun transferring himself into the bodies of the bosses of rival companies and other such people. He lived most of his life keeping his abilities under the radar, until of course he crossed the wrong people.
One day he was minding his own business when he mistakenly decided it would be a jolly good show to jump into the body of a thug so as to humiliate him. On paper it was a brilliant idea, the man's friends would have very little respect after Edmund was done with him. Of course, he didn't bank on the fact that the gang member weren't the cleverest of fellows and proceeded to murder his body while he was inhabiting their leader. Try as he might he couldn't switch back, he was stuck in this new body, the body of thug. He very quickly found out the limits of his powers that day, and subsequently dropped off scanners until a number of decades later in the fifties and early sixties. During this time he had realised that he could effectively keep his disembodied conciousness alive as long as he jumped into a new body when his current one was about to expire, as it were. Of course, that was the only time he could use his powers. It seemed not having his own body to return to had put a severe limit on his great ability.
Having been involved in any number of wars, the second world war through a number of different stiffs. He had become very world weary. He knew how things worked, how to get his own way. Never the less, around the summer of 2007 Edmund found himself in a spot of bother, he had once again met his match at the hands of a bunch of thugs on the streets of New York. His current form was about to pass on and if he didn't switch he would be a goner. Now you must realise that it was a matter of life and death, he didn't have any other choice. With moments to spare he found himself sacrificing a young Asian-American girl for his own gain. He had never thought it would be worth transferring himself into a young woman before, but now he thought about it, and after he got past the original shock, he found looking like a beautiful young 20-something work in his favour. Of course it didn't take long for him to realise that something was wrong. It was as if he was locked away from his powers, as if he couldn't use them even if Megan Sato, as she was known, was to die. Of course he had to test out his theory. Needless to say he couldn't transfer and also needless to say some sod found him, or rather her, every time and helped her to a hospital.
Enter a new year. 2009. It was all to late now to realise the problems and effects of inhabiting the body of a mutant like Megan Sato. Her mental barriers meant that a lot of her residual memories, a lot more than from the average person seeped through into his own consciousness. The clear divides in his mind are blurring constantly and from a couple of years pretending to be Megan he is starting to lose it. Quite literally. Maybe its just age, after all he has been alive for a good 85 years by now... at least he thinks so. Either way there is now a very thin line between him and her. Megan comes across as a nice enough girl, but occasionally she'll come out with something that make people begin to question her motives. 'She' could fit in with the X-crowd, but then again maybe she's more suited for life alone, or with the Kabal. Either way, mind transferral has left Edmund fragile. He could be persuaded either way, given the right motives.

Sample RP: It certainly seemed like Megan Sato might be kind of girl who went out to clubs and such, so why on Earth did it feel weird? Oh yeah wait, that was because she wasn't really this Megan character... or was she...? Either way it was too confusing to say to anyone that up until now she had been a disembodied spirit of a man long dead. But never mind that now. Phew.. keeping under the radar was certainly an experience. The thing was Megan Sato wasn't always Megan Sato, well okay she was, but it wasn't until the mind and soul of Edmund Eaton forced Megan out so he could inhabit her mind in his time of need, that things got weird. Lets just say that ownership of this body had changed hands. Rather she thought it had, but the boundaries were breaking down, she didn't know where her memories ended and her own began... his own.. okay what ever.
Whatever the situation, the night had been quite enjoyable. There was no doubt that she hadn't felt this way until the 1930's when she first really got into drinking with a couple of friends. Yet there was the slight problem of relations with the male species. It got annoying. There was no way she was interested all things considering but that didn't mean they didn't try. This current body was certainly a double edged sword. There were particular things she could get away with now days that a man could not, but then there was a whole host of other problems, not to mention the whole getting hit on by guys. Never the less she had to admit that Ms Sato was a rather pretty young woman, if more exotic a person than someone of her age would consider good looking. But it certainly showed. Apparently American men had an odd thing about Asian girls. She didn't particularly understand it but never the less...
Good night.
There must have been something to do though. Not after the party, but rather, with life. Was the point of being a mutant to hide yourself away or was it so you could change the outcome of the lives of millions of people stuck in the dark, dazed and confused. Now, she was a goody goody that was for sure, she couldn't careless about peace. There was no such thing after all. Having lived through a number of wars, most notably WWII. Humans didn't want peace. They wanted survival. Nothing more nothing less. What ever they said personally. There must have been something more to do with being a mutant you know. Anything ....
