The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Cailyn took a bus to the nearby busstation and stepped out of the bus. It was a nice sunny day not to hot and not to cold. A little breeze went through her hair as she straightened her glasses. She was wearing one of her darker red, long skirts with a white shirt to give a little bit more of a serious impression if she wanted to try and get a job at this school she heard about.
She walked through the streets to find this school. It was a beautiful day to be outside and Cailyn had a smile on her face. She lost herself a few times before she found the gates of the school. The school was enermous and it reminded her of a old mansion. It could have been a old mansion turned into a school though. She stood in front of the gate examining the school while she kept her leather briefcase/bag in front of her. She straightened her skirt out and she started looking for the doorbell. As she pushed the doorbell she softly said: "Ding, dong anyone home."

Streak walked around the mansion. He was mainly making sure that there weren't to many trouble makers running around. As long as they were having fun and not hurting someone he was fine with it. A few groups of kids ran past him obviously on their way out to play the in the yard. He heard the door bell ring and walked down the hall to it. Shawn opened the door and saw a young women standing in front of the door.
She looked like she was on her way to a job interview. "Hi. Can I help you?" Shawn asked her. He'd gotten so used to answering the door it was almost second nature for him now.
Cailyn heard some children run around and looked around a bit but then the door opened. A young man stood in the doorway with wavy brown hair and a pair of very unusual silver eyes. She smiled at him as her glasses slid a bit of her nose. "hello." she said as she straightened her glasses. On the background it was notible that there where children running around the hallways. She plan out exactly what to say but thought about it thought she just had to spill it out a bit. "I came here looking for the director of this school." she said with a smile. The sun shined and everything was running smoodly for Cailyn, truely a good day.

"I came here looking for the director of this school."
"Um. Ok. Can I ask what for? Are you looking for a job? or a place to stay for a while?" He asked her starting to go into some of the new student questions. He didn't want to appear rude or secretive so he said, "Come in Miss..." Shawn stood back and opened the door to let her in as he waited for her to answer his questions. This lady was obviously not here to be a student but she could have been looking for a place to stay. There always seemed to be people popping in and out of here for a short while. She was attractive but it didn't matter one bit for him. He was more interesting in her intentions here at the mansion.
"Um. Ok. Can I ask what for? Are you looking for a job? or a place to stay for a while?"
This where some of the standard questions she thought she would hear and actually tested some lines in the mirror. "Ow yes, i am technicly here for both." She said with a smile. Her glasses didn't seemed to stay put and she took them off examined the leg by moving it in and out. Nothing seemed to be wrong and she put them back on. This probably made her really look silly and a very clumsy teacher.
"Come in Miss..."
"Ah yes, how rude of me." she said. "My name isCailyn Lyndall, and i'm am a biology teacher." She continued. "well atleast i try to be." She added with a smile as if she felt uncomfortable. He would probably a student here who graduated and stayed at the place for a while till he figured out where to go to work or he could be a teacher but he didn't look like one.

"Ow yes, i am technicly here for both." "Ah yes, how rude of me." "My name isCailyn Lyndall, and i'm am a biology teacher." "well atleast i try to be."
Streak listened to her when she spoke. He smiled as she examine her glasses. Cailyn seemed nervous talking to him. Even though she was about his age he knew that it could be nerve racking going in for a job interview. "Well. Welcome to the school. I'm sure we could find a biology position for you here." He said calmly to her. "I'm sure we can also find someplace for you to stay. We always seem to have enough rooms here." He walked over to the table that was near the door and held pamphlets on it. "My names Shawn by the way." He said handing her the pamphlet of the school. It had turned into a routine again. Greet the newcomer, hand them the pamphlet and show them around. But she wasn't any new student here. She was looking for a job and he wasn't sure how to go about that with her. He'd never encountered someone looking for a job before. It was mostly younger kids wanting to be students. "So, um. Where'd you get your biology degree?" He asked making small talk with her.
She followed the boy inside. She looked around the hallway keeping her bag against her legs. She examined the hallways and it seemed like a very nifty place to stay in. Everything looked so nice compared to most of the places she had seen. Children ran around playing and they where probably all mutants. It seemed very confortable to live carefree like that in these times. She was handed a pamphlets that she took.
"My names Shawn by the way."
"Nice to meet you." She said shortly as she covered herself by reading the pamphlet. She didn't know how to interact with people allot and she found it hard. She never been with anybody either so though luck for her.
"So, um. Where'd you get your biology degree?"
She looked up from the pamphlet and looked at him. She kept quiet for a moment and said: "Ow uh, New york university." with a smile. She folded the pamphlet back together and put her hair behind her ear again. The time at the university was fun for her, got to meet allot of people, had some alone time and actually learned something.
As the two people conversed at the door, a third approached from one of the hallways. Neena held a book open in one hand, while the other ran lightly across the pages, feeling out the tiny bumps in the paper that formed the Braille alphabet. Her unseeing white eyes stared straight ahead, yet she managed to avoid the various pieces of furnishing lining the hall.
As she reached the foyer, she paused, and blinked. Her fingers stilled, and she turned her head from Streak to the woman.
"Hello, Shawn," she greeted the silver man with a wide smile, and by name, though she currently couldn't see him. "Who's your friend?"
She turned her smile to the woman, and nodded her head in greeting.
She looked around some more and she noted a woman who was reading a book with her fingers. Seemingly she was blind but Cailyn somehow knew that she wasn't completly helpless and without some kind of vision. She had a weird sense for those kind of things. She also had a strange name though she didn't know why she knew her name either. Cailyn wasn't suprised anymore about it since she discovered that it belonged to her powers.
"Hello, Shawn," she greeted the silver man with a wide smile, and by name, though she currently couldn't see him. "Who's your friend?"
Cailyn smiled even though the girl was blind. She offered her a hand and said: "Nice to meet you Neena, I am Cailyn and i am trying to aply for a job." With a smile. It might sounded creepy knowing somebody's name already but she knew that keeping those kind of informations stored up caused inregularities for her powers. She was amoungst mutants so they might even understand.

"That's cool." was about the only thing he was able to say to her because just then Neena arrived. He still wasn't used to seeing Neena blind, especially after seeing her the way she was before she went blind. It was true that she didn't change much from when she could see to now, but it was still a little different for Streak to see her like that. "Hey Neena." He replied to her after Cailyn had taken the liberty of introducing herself to Neena. "She's got a degree in biology." he explained to Neena as he looked at her.
"Nice to meet you Neena, I am Cailyn and i am trying to aply for a job."
The dark-skinned teacher cocked her head, her eyebrows lifting in curiosity.
"Nice to meet you Cailyn." She held out her hand in greeting. "I'm guessing either mind-reader or Intuition?" she referred to the woman knowing her name already.
"Hey Neena." Streak replied. "She's got a degree in biology."
"Oh?"
She reached up to shade her eyes and squinted a bit. A hint of green colored her white irises. Her night vision had become blurry as of late, but it allowed enough clarity for her to make out faces within about twenty feet. She'd never seen Cailyn before; that she was sure of.
She blinked back to her less-painful normal sight, or sightlessness rather.
"Welcome to Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters, Ms. Cailyn. Do you have a resume' I could see? Or that the Headmistress could?" She chuckled, and corrected herself.
Cailyn let one slip and they already figured out what she did, well atleast a part of it. She shook Neena's hand and simply said: "I just know things." With a smile. She felt comfortable around the two mutants she just met at the school seeing as they understood what she could do with just one little example that she dropped.
"Welcome to Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters, Ms. Cailyn. Do you have a resume' I could see? Or that the Headmistress could?" She chuckled, and corrected herself.
She didn't know how to react to the entire blind joke and just said: "Aw, just call me Cailyn." and she put her bag down, opened it and started sniffing around in it. She pulled out a bunch of papers that where bound together. "Here you go." She said as she handed to papers. "I hope everything is in order?" She asked because she was a little bit nervous for her first job interview.

Shawn smiled at Neena's comment about seeing. Even though she was blind she still kept her sense of humor. That was always a good thing. He couldn't imagine Neena without a sense of humor.
"I'm guessing either mind-reader or Intuition?" "I just know things."
He didn't really understand her reply to Neena but he did know that Neena was probably right in her guess. Probably intuition. he thought as he watched Cailyn search for her resume'. He couldn't help but watch all the things that were taking place. He wasn't sure what Neena's powers consisted of still, now that she was blind, but Shawn knew that she when she tilted her head she was looking at Cailyn using one of her powers. "So what now Neena?" he asked her wondering what she was going to do with Cailyn.
The mostly-blind woman nodded acknowledgment of Cailyn's answer. Even telelpaths had a tendency to give clues as to their mutation, if you paid close enough attention.
"Aw, just call me Cailyn."
"Gladly." Her grin widened just a smidge. Nearly all of the Mansion residents knew the teachers dislike of being called 'Miss'. She was glad Cailyn wouldn't insist on being called that as well, since the word just didn't come naturally to her.
"Here you go. I hope everything is in order?"
"I'm sure it is. The Headmistress will look it over as soon as she can." Neena nodded, and tucked the bundle in the back of her book.
"So what now Neena?" Streak asked. Neena tilted her head thoughtfully.
"Well.... Cailyn, how about you tell us a bit about yourself, while we give you a tour of the Mansion? I'll drop this off in the office on our way."
She turned toward the hallway she'd just come from, and made a, 'Shall we?' motion.
"I'm sure it is. The Headmistress will look it over as soon as she can."
She was glad that she thought everything was in order. She wouldn't have liked it if her first application would be a failure especially in times like these. She closed her bag. The other things in her bag where personal stuff like her favorite ribbon of lint.
"Well.... Cailyn, how about you tell us a bit about yourself, while we give you a tour of the Mansion? I'll drop this off in the office on our way."
Ow dear, the story of her life wasn't a pretty one. There where parts of it that Cailyn prefered not to tell to anybody but the headmistress. Especially her mental past was part of that. "Uh where to start." She said as she pulled her bag back up. She looked up at the ceiling a bit, going through the story in her thoughts. "Not much to say i'm just a late student who traveled around allot, even been a model for a short time which was fun when i think back at it." She said a bit hasty. She thought that she covered the most important things that would keep them away from her childhood. "Ok so how about that tour." She said to change the subject.
