The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Well.... Cailyn, how about you tell us a bit about yourself, while we give you a tour of the Mansion? I'll drop this off in the office on our way."
"Not much to say i'm just a late student who traveled around allot, even been a model for a short time which was fun when i think back at it." "Ok so how about that tour."
Streak didn't interrupt their conversation. He merely listened to Cailyn's answer and noted the way she said them quickly. He thought it was a bit curious that she changed the subject quickly and omitted most of her life. He didn't expect a life's story he did expect to hear more than what she'd said. Shawn didn't press the issue because he didn't feel that it was his place.
Shawn figured that if more digging were to be done it was best to leave that up to Neena and Tricity. "Sure right this way Cailyn." He walked up to Neena and stood next to her. Shawn started to lead the way since Neena was blind, not that she didn't know the mansion as well as everyone else who'd been here for a years, but because he thought it better that he lead Cailyn so that he could point things out to her and make sure she didn't get lost.
"Not much to say i'm just a late student who traveled around allot, even been a model for a short time which was fun when i think back at it." The words seemed to be rushed, attempting to head off any inquiry.
"Ok so how about that tour."
"Sure right this way Cailyn." Streak moved besides Neena, and she smiled and nodded.
"Of course," she agreed. Then, not one to be rushed unless necessary, she asked, "A model? Now that sounds like it must have been interesting. Do you have a favorite place you've traveled?"
She kept pace with Streak as they walked. He'd been invaluable over the years when it came to greeting newcomers, and she appreciated his help greatly. While he pointed out various classrooms and other rooms, she interjected questions for Cailyn, attempting to word them so the woman wouldn't grow defensive or clam up. She also addressed her experience.
"Is this your first teaching job, or have you interned or worked before?"
"Sure right this way Cailyn." "Of course," she agreed. Then, not one to be rushed unless necessary, she asked, "A model? Now that sounds like it must have been interesting. Do you have a favorite place you've traveled?"
Cailyn walked after the duo while answering the question. She had seen allot of places but she never wondered what her favorite was. "I don't know exactly but where ever there is nice weather and maybe a beach it would be good." she said with a smile. "And yes being a model is fun but very busy and you don't have allot of privacy to be honest." she added. She never enjoyed the privacy part of the job but nevertheless being payed to travel was fun.
They moved through all kinds of hallways and classrooms. She wondered if they had a gym or a pool. She never learned how to swim but it was one of the things that was on her to do list.
"Is this your first teaching job, or have you interned or worked before?"
"Did i get the job then." She said as a joke. She smilled because she doesn't make allot of jokes. "Well this would be my first real teaching job if you mean that." She added shortly after.

(ooc: sorry its so short. writers block)
Shawn continued the tour passing the dorm rooms and the infirmary. He also led them past the offices of some of the teachers. "Here we are Neena. Here's your office." he said to her so that she could drop off Cailyn's application. He listened to Neena's questions. They were good questions and he thought they were very insightful. Shawn waited for Neena to go inside the office and reappear. While he waited he thought of where would be the best place for him to show Cailyn next.
"I don't know exactly but where ever there is nice weather and maybe a beach it would be good." Neena could almost hear the smile in Cailyn's voice. "And yes being a model is fun but very busy and you don't have allot of privacy to be honest."
The partially blind teacher understood the hint.
"Did i get the job then. Well this would be my first real teaching job if you mean that."
Neena smiled. "Well, that's the Headmistress's call, really. But we are in need of a science teacher at the moment. We shall see." Just like a number of schools, teachers always seemed to be in short supply. The turnover at Xavier's was especially high, no doubt due to the general instability of its residents' abilities.
"Here we are Neena. Here's your office."
"Thank you, Shawn." She disappeared into the office, and set the resume' in Tricity's 'Urgent-slash-Life-threatening' inbox. Not that reading and considering the new applicant could be deemed 'life-threatening', but it would ensure that the Headmistress would see it quickly.
As they continued the tour, Neena continued the interview.
"I have to warn you, our students are quite the handful. Aside from the typical pre- and teenage problems, the majority don't have much control over their mutations. Have you ever had to deal with a mutant outburst before?"
Neena disappeared into her office with Cailyn's papers. She got a bit anxious about it hoping that they would aprove of her papers. She returned shortly giving Cailyn the impression that the headmistress wasn't here at the moment.
"I have to warn you, our students are quite the handful. Aside from the typical pre- and teenage problems, the majority don't have much control over their mutations. Have you ever had to deal with a mutant outburst before?"
They where talking about the same problems that Cailyn had that age though she was stuck in a mental institution at that age. She knew what went throught these kids minds and hoped she could deal with it. "I think we all had those problem." She replied. "And i hope i can give some insight about it." she added shortly.

Streak was glad that Tricity wasn't in at the moment. Otherwise they might be there for awhile while the two talk about the job position. Once Neena returned he continued the tour. They seemed to cover most of the inside of the mansion pretty fast. He was enjoying listening to the questions that Neena was throwing at Cailyn.
He was curious of her and wanted to make his own conclusion of her. Shawn trusted Neena and Tricity with the decisions of the xmen and of the school; however, it was nothing without ones own opinion of the person.
"I think we all had those problem." "And i hope i can give some insight about it."
Very tactful. Shawn thought as he listened to her answering Neena's questions. Like a politician. They never really answer the questions. He was becoming skeptical of her and was going to continue to watch her throughout the day and for a while if she got the job.
"I think we all had those problem. And i hope i can give some insight about it."
"That would be wonderful!" Neena, possibly unexpectedly, laughed and nodded. "Oh, if you could find and give a clue what's going on in an out-of-control mutant mind, that would be beyond helpful."
Abruptly her expression turned serious. "That actually reminds me, have you ever been infected by Haywire? The reason I ask is that, obviously, every now and then a resident or few catches it."
She sighed and shook her head. "Anyone who lives or works here needs to be aware of that. There is a Haywire-specific Infirmary on the grounds, that keeps sick ones quarantined until they recover."
Neena made it a point to visit the ward at least once a week, if not twice, to check on any isolated from the rest of their Mansion family.
"That would be wonderful!" Neena, possibly unexpectedly, laughed and nodded. "Oh, if you could find and give a clue what's going on in an out-of-control mutant mind, that would be beyond helpful."
"If only it worked that way." She replied with a faint smile. She really didn't have any "activated" mind reading abilities let alone that she could completly know what went on in somebody's mind.

"Anyone who lives or works here needs to be aware of that. There is a Haywire-specific Infirmary on the grounds, that keeps sick ones quarantined until they recover."
She pondered about it for a while. Not that she actually knew what the virus did though she did hear about it. From what she could remember it was a mutant virus that boosted people's powers. She pondered the thought that she could have actually had it while facing her father. She decided to simple state that she had an encounter with it. "Yes, actually i have been infected." It made her sound like she was something dirty. She never liked the sound of the word infected. "I guess i will find this infirmary if i get the job then." She shortly added to state that she was willing to cooperate with the rules of the school.

"Yes, actually i have been infected." "I guess i will find this infirmary if i get the job then."
Streak continued to walk down the hallway guiding the two women. He listened to their conversation as he went and made notes of certain things said by Cailyn. Streak had been lucky enough to have so far avoided catching the Haywire virus. He thought it was probably best that she'd already been infected. He'd had a poor experience with a mutant that had telepathy. Actually it was a good experience that turned bad because of the Haywire virus, but he didn't need to dwell on that right now. At least that's one more teacher that we won't have to worry about getting sick. He thought as they walked along.
Neena noted the pause before the woman replied to her question. "Yes, actually i have been infected."
She thought she detected a hint of distaste in Cailyn's voice.
"I guess i will find this infirmary if i get the job then."
She nodded. "That will be fine. I'd offer to show it to you now, but its not part of the tour. For obvious reasons. You understand." She turned a smile in the blond's direction.
Streak had been quite quiet during their entire conversation, with the exception of pointing out the various areas they passed. She wondered what he was thinking of, and what impression he'd formed of their guest. Personally, Neena like the woman. Yes, she was secretive, but it could be chalked up to job interview jitters.
"Are you married, m'friend?" she asked. Then, before the seemingly abrupt question caused too much surprise, added, "Most of our residents live on campus. Not that you have to, mind you. But the rooms are available if so needed."
She turned to Streak. "Can we go show Cailyn what they look like?" Then back to Cailyn, "this way you'll also get an idea of how the students live."
The one million dollar question. Cailyn didn't even have any experience with a romantic relationsship let alone that she was married. "No, no." She answered a bit with a smirk. "I've been so busy that i didn't have time for something like that." She continued. It sounded more like a excuse to herself then to the others because she really didn't have the time to ever wrap her head around it.

Ah yes her new students. She wondered if they where going to like her the way she was. If not a little nod into the right direction wouldn't help. She turned to Neena and simply said: "I would like that." with a smile on her face.

So she's not married. Her answer seems kind of distant though. Maybe she's just nervous around people she meets. He thought. Streak was lost in his thoughts until Neena spoke to him. He supposed it was so that he could participate in more of the conversation.
"Can we go show Cailyn what they look like?" "this way you'll also get an idea of how the students live.
"Ya. We can swing by there." He responded to Neena. Cailyn seemed anxious to see the room where she wold probably living if she got the job. After turning a corner, he went up a flight of stairs and found himself on the floor where many of the students rooms were. Many of the rooms were closed because of the influx of students.
Fortunately there was one room with its door propped open. It was an empty room, and no one was occupying it. "Here's one. No one's currently living in this room but this is what they look like." Streak said, pushing the door open and holding it standing aside so that Cailyn and Neena could go in before him.
"No, no," Cailyn replied quickly. "I've been so busy that i didn't have time for something like that."
Neena simply nodded; she remembered when she'd felt the same way. It was amazing how quickly some things happened, and your mind could change....
"Ya. We can swing by there."
"I would like that."
Shawn led the way to an empty room. They let the teacher-prospect enter first and examine the area. The adult rooms were a bit larger than the students' rooms, with a small sitting area in addition to the beds, desk and nightstands. There were two closets instead of one, but the bathroom was the same size.
"Would you be opposed to having a roommate if you do stay?" she asked the woman. "Lately the students have been doubling up, and some even having three in a room. Some of the teachers have paired up as well, to make room for others."
Lately Neena had taken to sleeping on the roof, though she'd have to move inside again soon, with winter coming.
She was being led by the two to the dorms of the school. She didn't know what to expect. Would it be a room full of books and a compfy chair or would it be like a hotel room with only a bed and a tv.
"Here's one. No one's currently living in this room but this is what they look like."
Cailyn looked around. A pretty standard room nothing fancy. She didn't have enough clothes to fill two closets so she would be fine with the closet space. It looked cosy to her. She liked it. "Would you be opposed to having a roommate if you do stay?" she asked the woman. "Lately the students have been doubling up, and some even having three in a room. Some of the teachers have paired up as well, to make room for others."
A roommate, she never had one before. She pondered the thought of having one. She didn't mind but she read minds kind of and her roommate needed to be informed on that and confortable to say to least. "I don't mind but i pasively pick out a thought or information every now and then, so that person has to be comfortable with it." She explained. She didn't even consider if it was a boy or a girl roommate that she was getting.
