The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Absolutely terrifying. Tarin and DocProf keep telling me I have nothing to worry about, but what are my powers doing to the baby? Constantly."
Sam listened to Lee as they walked into the kitchen, which was at the time dark and vacant. Sam hit the light switch and the kitchen lit up as he opened a pantry looking for a box of cereal. Thinking about what Lee said about her powers and the baby he came up with an idea after a few seconds of deep thought, “Maybe your baby will be immune to your power, other wise you would think something would have happened to it by now right? Or it could have so much energy your not harming it.” Sam liked his first answer, his second was mainly to try and comfort Lee.
Sam thought for a second wondering what happens when to mutants reproduce, do the spawn a mutant or a normal child? If it is a mutant, what kind of ability would it have. Instantly thousands of questions filled Sam’s mind he tried to bloke them out by shaking his head and a result steam started to flow from his ears as a low whistle was heard from the steam forcing it’s way from Sam’s body.
Finally they made it to the kitchen, and as Sam flicked on the light and moved to the pantry, Lee immediately made her way to the fridge. Finding the pickle jar as Sam started speaking, Lee opened it and scooped one out, sticking it in her mouth as she continued to search for some watermelon.
Maybe her baby would be immune to her powers? How great would that be, but honestly, Lee couldn't help wonder how unlikely such an occurrence would be.
Biting a chunk off the pickle, Lee chewed and swallowed it quickly before looking over her shoulder at Sam. "But how can something so small have that much energy?" She asked, her forehead crinkled slightly as she tried to puzzle it out. Still, that explanation seemed a bit more likely than his idea that the baby would be immune.
That said, Lee turned back to her search of the fridge. There had to be some watermelon in there somewhere, didn't there? So what if it was technically before the typical season for it, she was craving it, so there had to be some.

"But how can something so small have that much energy?"
Sam just let out a small laugh as he found his cereal and his bowl, “Well Lee aren’t there a lot of things that seem impossible? I can create and command a squad of ice solders and you can siphon the life force out of somebody just by being near them right? I don’t think it would be to out of the ordinary around here.” Sam poured his favorite cereal; Trix into his bowl as he walked over to the fridge he reached in over Lee and grabbed the milk and walked back to his bowl. Sam then poured the milk, “Lee if the Doc isn’t worried and Tarin isn’t worried I think the kid will be fine.” He then took the first bite of his Trix. With a mouth full of cereal Sam asked, “So do you know if it’s a boy or a girl?” Sam then dug back into his cereal.

Lee sent a small glare over her shoulder when she heard Sam laugh. The thing was, he did have a bit of a point. There were so many things she had seen that she would have thought would be impossible, in fact, there were so many things especially with Tarin, that she now thought of as completely normal, whether good or bad.
Could this be something like that?
By this point, Sam was moving toward her, then reaching past her for the milk out of the fridge. As he backed away, Lee heaved a sigh; there was no watermelon in the fridge, so she'd just have to settle for pickles. Taking the jar, Lee shut the door and moved over to where Sam had his cereal, still munching on the pickle in her hand.
"Not worrying is easier said than done," Lee told Sam. Just like she had told Tarin, and DocProf for that matter, on many occasions.
And then he asked the big question that everyone seemed to have been asking lately. Shaking her head, Lee took another bite. "Nope," she told him simply. "I don't want to know, either."

Sam was a little taken aback by Lee not wanting to know, “You want it to be a surprise? Bet Tarin wants to know!” Sam was teasing her now as she was eating a pickle and had the jar with her so she could move on to the next pickle afterwards. Sam hated surprises nothing about them ever turned out good, they usually eneded up with him bleeding from a gun shot or stabbed.
Sam remained silent for a minute or two as he now finished the rest of his bowl of Trix and reached for the box and the milk to refill his now vacant bowl. Trying to keep the conversation going, “So did you pick out a name for the future mutie?”
Sam shook his head for coming up with a lame question. To avoid looking stupid Sam took a big mouthful of cereal. “So what are you doing here Lee, I know you said Tarin was working here but what about you?”

Lee couldn't help but smile when Sam voiced his thought about Tarin wanting to know about the baby. "Of course he does," Lee agreed, then shrugged one shoulder. "But he knows I don't want to know before, so he's not pushing on it."
And there was the second big question: names. Again Lee shrugged as she munched on the last bit of her pickle, then reached into the jar for another. "We've talked about a few, but haven't settled on anything. We still have time, after all."
Lee crunched and munched some more as she watched Sam pour himself another bowl of cereal. "What am I doing here?" Lee asked, then smiled. "Could say I'm here to annoy DocProf, since I'm down there at least every other day wanting a check up.
"Seriously, though, I'm taking classes," Lee continued. "Well, not here here, but I'm taking some university classes by correspondence."

"Seriously, though, I'm taking classes," Lee continued. "Well, not here here, but I'm taking some university classes by correspondence."
Sam grinned as he finished his final bowl of cereal, “That’s good to hear Lee.” Sam put his hand down on the table but it hovered for a second as steam came through the palm of his hands. Sam’s eyebrows raised in shock he had an idea about this new gift of his and he tried to see if he could actually do what he was thinking.
Sam’s hand fell to the table as Sam stood up with out saying anything. He picked up his bowl and walked them to the sink dropped them off and then walked to the door, “Lee it was good talking to you again, but I just thought of something.” With that Sam left the room and then booked it to the danger room. He didn’t want to be so rude to Lee but he had to know what this new power was capable of.

Wow, Sam was really motoring through the cereal, wasn't he? He was already finishing, what, his second bowl, when he said it was good she had gone back and was taking classes.
Without any more notice, Lee saw Sam stand up, dump his bowl in the sink and walked to the door.
And then he was at the door and gone. Lee frowned as she chewed on her pickle. Yes, things had been weird that night, but she hadn't been expecting Sam to just run out that quickly.
But he had been right about one thing before he had run out the door. It had been good to talk, to catch up a bit. Yes, things hadn't exactly been worry-free because of how she had found him, and it had been a bit awkward because of the fact that she had liked him years ago and was now married to Tarin and pregnant with his child, but the fact of the matter was it had been good to see and talk to Sam once again.
Getting to her own feet, much slower than Sam had done just minutes earlier, Lee returned the jar of pickles and milk to the fridge. Hopefully she'd be able to get to sleep fairly quickly. it was late after all, and Lee really didn't like the nights she only managed to pass out as the sun was coming up.
