The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

OOC: As the first real development of his powers since creation, Zeke acquired the ability to manipulate sulfur into a liquid state now... which glows a bright red. He doesn't really have any familiarity with it yet, so it's liable to get funky. Thus the Danger Room activity. Anybody is welcome to join.
Zeke couldn't believe his eyes back then in the camps when he had shot forth liquid sulfur. In fact, he couldn't believe it so much that he was doubting even as he stood here. Hadn't it all just been an apparition? Ever since birth, all Zeke knew how to do was control the gaseous and solid forms of sulfur, but never the liquid form. Was it possible that his body had mutated further, and something had changed.
I am a definite freak. It's no wonder some of the humans are terrified of us. I would be too. But that's a note for another day I think...
Standing here in the Danger Room, Zeke simply spoke to bring the machine to life. "Computer, park setting, targets please." Instantly the scene around him changed and he watched as the metal sides of the room became a virtual reality world of a walk through the park. Hanging on trees about fifty feet away were classic white and red targets.
For fun, Zeke shot some normal greenish-yellow sulfur in the direction of a target, and glanced off it's right side. Then, concentrating, Zeke shot and got a perfect bullseye. The familiar color of his standard solid sulfur encouraged him onward. He wanted more.
Trying to focus his mind on the incident at the camps, Zeke attempted to shoot to liquid sulfur from body. No luck. Simple solid sulfur came out, and Zeke had to quickly extinguish it. To be honest, Zeke had no idea where the sulfur he created came from. It didn't come from his body, it's almost like it was projected from his mind. After all, he could simply make it appear in midair with a thought. The wave of his hand or thrust of his arm made the action happen much faster, instantly in fact, but even without his arms he would be able to do it.
Same with the gaseous form. In fact, the gaseous and solid forms were nearly identical. The gaseous form was simply a floating solid form that moved much quicker and wasn't as heavy. It had similiar effects as the solid, but mixed a lot better with water.
But what about this liquid form. Where did it come from? Zeke tried to remember the inicident. He had been holding Evie, about to get attacked by the creature, when it just shot out, like normal. But blood-red and boiling, a definite liquid. And what about the temperature? What would that do to someone or something besides a robot?
He couldn't quite understand it yet, so he unsuccessfully tried again and again. Who knows... someone might even walk in and see me in practice... and bring something back to my memory...

Sam walked into the danger room, which was essentially his second home. Other than training and an occasional day off, Sam slept, he was a warrior by training and old habits die-hard. Very hard, Sam couldn’t go long with out straining his body.
Somebody was already running a scenario when Sam entered, a little disappointed Sam walked around to see a target session in a park. Sam smiled, this brought back found memories. Sam thought that the mutant must be long to medium range because the targets were pretty far apart. Sam noticed something different in the air it smelt like burning. “What’s that smell?" Sam asked himself which was clearly loud enough for almost anywhere to hear him.

Zeke heard a noise behind him and spun around, looking through the shrubs he saw a young man coming towards him. The question about noise brought Zeke back to reality as he tried to reorganize his thoughts around the school and away from the day at the camps. As he did this, he was able to communicate much more effectively than he would have been able to. "It's sulfur." He replied, understanding the boy was smelling his power, which Zeke was mostly dulled to after years and years of proximity with it.
The man's speaking had been fairly loud, and even in the generated enviroment, Zeke could still hear the sound bouncing off the real walls of the Danger Room. Kind of weird in virtual reality to hear an echo. Zeke hadn't ever noticed that before, and was suprised by it a little.
He walked towards the boy and streched out his hand in greeting. "Ezekiel White, call me Zeke. I teach here. Just practicing some skills that suddened upon me a couple weeks ago."

Sam reached for Zeke’s hand and shook it, “Hey, Name’s Sam.” Sam paused to think how to respond to Zeke’s words. “Your sudden skill was sulfur generation? And I think I was told you teach philosophy right?” Sam was glad he was finally getting some face time with all the teachers here. Even though he would most likely be older than all the other kids Sam still wanted to go through a couple classes like a normal kid.
Sam looked around the danger room and all the targets, “Do you mind if I join you?” Sam wasn’t as skilled with long range as he was close range but if need be he could be an excellent marksman.

Smiling, Zeke shook the boy's hand firmly and let go with the same confidence. He turned back to a target, concentrated, and hit the target sqaure with a shot of sulfur from his arm. The yellow-greenish solid adhered to the target, then disappeered with a thought from Zeke. "Actually," he said turning back around, "my sudden skill was another type of sulfur generation. What you just saw me shoot is my standard power, while weeks ago I found an alternate form of sulfur that I could create... but since I haven't been able to duplicate the results. It's frustrating." He wiped some of the sweat from his forehead with an arm.
"Nice to meet you Sam. And yes, I teach philosophy and religion, with an occasional mythology or anything along those lines. You're welcome to join me of course..." He spoke to the Danger Room and more targets popped up at the same distance, but now all around them.

Sam listened in awe as Zeke explained his powers then shot some sulfur to a target.
"My sudden skill was another type of sulfur generation. What you just saw me shoot is my standard power, while weeks ago I found an alternate form of sulfur that I could create... but since I haven't been able to duplicate the results. It's frustrating."
Sam smiled as more targets fell all around them. As he created some small throwing knives of ice he threw one at the target hitting a few center meters from the bull’s-eye. Despite him being better at close range he could still hit a target need be it’s just more time needed to adjust to the increased distance.
Thinking on what Zeke said Sam came up with an idea, “well maybe you need to duplicate the scenario, and feelings that occurred when your new ability manifested. Then just figure out from there what triggered it.” Sam paused a second trying not to overstep his boundaries, “That’s what I would do.”

Zeke watched and the boy's mutation became obvious very fast. He could create ice of sorts, at least little knives. His power could be much more controlling than simply creating small blades of ice, but it wasn't very evident here, so Zeke assumed the boy's power wasn't fully shown and left it at that in his mind. The boy was pretty good at this distance, not as good as Zeke with his blast, but still pretty good. That made sense though, as throwing a knife was probably harder than shooting a blast from the fingers, so Zeke logged the memory and ignored the rest of the boy's practicing skill, focusing on his own instead.
Zeke spoke to the computer and it hummed to life. He turned back to Sam, "Yes, I've tried to duplicate the feelings, but maybe I should just duplicate the entire scenario. Then again, the one I love was in trouble, so it's hard to recreate without it actually happening." He stepped to his right and shot at another target, nothing happened besides the typical greenish-yellow blast, a color that Zeke referred to in his mind as "grellow" from now on.
He programmed the computer with a phrase, "All right, let's see what happens if I create a suprise attack like the former event. Computer, somewhere through my routine, pop up a target right beside me." Zeke walked back a little and took a deep breath then let it out slow. The computer responded by popping targets up and down at different intervals and different spots. Some were close and some were far.
Zeke hopped forward and blasted the first target just to his left. He spotted a target to his right about 30 meters and spun and shot it. Behind him he heard a click and a targer emerged about 10 meters away, he jerked and blasted it. The routine continued randomly for about thirty seconds, with Zeke spinning and dodging, in full combat mode (avoiding Sam at all times) and occasionally rolling. At the end of that time, a target emerged just in front of Zeke, about four feet away. The target was taller than him, about seven feet, and the emergence caught him so off guard that he fell to the ground.
Throwing his hand up in the air, suprised Zeke fired a beam of sulfur at the target. At first, a slight ammount of red liquid shot towards the red and white target, then quick as the liquid had come, it turned back to the solid grellow, and the target fell over with a thud as all the other targets did.
Huffing and puffing, Zeke pulled himself to his feet and stared at the target he was now standing over. On the right edge, a small ammount of dripping red liquid was hanging on the side of the circle. His deep and fast breaths held him from thinking for a second, then he let out a soft cry, "Wow." He bent over and examined it. The liquid was boiling and blistering on the surface, and the paint on the target was melting off. He stood and looked at Sam, "That's liquid sulfur. I created some. Not much, but some. I wonder why..."

Sam watched as Zeke went around shooting the targets as they randomly popped up near him. Sam smiled, so this is what a professor is capable of. Sam was quite impressed one after another Zeke took out the targets. The smell of sulfur was in the air from the use of his powers. Sam occasionally moved when he thought the sulfur was coming his way. He didn’t know exactly what would happen if one of the shots would hit him, but Sam didn’t want to find out. Which was probably one of the best ideas he had in a long time, as soon as a large and tall target appeared, it soon fell to his power. As a red liquid shot from his hands, Sam looked surprised and walked over. As soon as he got there Zeke spoke. "Wow." He bent over and examined it. The liquid was boiling and blistering on the surface, and the paint on the target was melting off. He stood and looked at Sam, "That's liquid sulfur. I created some. Not much, but some. I wonder why..."
Sam pushed one of his ice knives into the boiling liquid to see it melted instantly. Sam let out a whistle in surprise, “That is really impressive Zeke.” Sam then eyed the remains of the target to see there was a small amount let on it continually melting it.
Sam remembered the look on Zeke’s face, as his power turned liquid it was that of what looked to Sam of surprise or fear. “Well Zeke I have an idea if you’re up for it?” Sam smiled he was explaining his idea. “I have a created a battle-royal danger room scenario if your up for it.” Sam smile widened a bit, “If your anything like me you need a scary situation to pull your true abilities out.” Sam waited patiently for a response as he continued to eye the liquid red sulfur as it still bubbled on the ground.

Zeke smiled at Sam and ran his hand through his hair for a second. The thought that he had just produced a liquid version of his original power was starting to dominate his thinking, making him a little stupid for conversations. He didn't quite know what had triggered the liquid, but it had something to do with the surprise of the event, that much he was sure of. He would have to go study it when he got back to the lab. For now, he would have to continue to recreate the event of surprise, and hopefully that would trigger something.
Suddenly, a wobble, and Zeke's world went black. A blurred figure appeared, Beth maybe? She got closer and closer, weaving in and out, blurring and clarifying, then blurring again. Stretching into two or four figures then reverting back to one. Suddenly a voice shot through the vision, echoing loudly, "Call my name!" And just as quickly as it happened, it was over.
That voice. It was definitely Beth. But just the same, it was a stupid line from the old childrens story with the flying dog. Yes, they had had a Hebrew version in Israel, something like the "Land Before Time" or maybe something about a story? He would have to look it up. But that line had come from his childhood.
The entire event took about a second real-time, and Zeke woke up, still standing, having just slightly wobbled where he stood with his eyes closed. Zeke looked up confused at Sam, then remembered where he was and what he was doing. Oh yes, recreating. He spoke kind of confusedly to Sam, "Oh... right... situation... sure."

Sam eyed him for a second, the once calm Zeke seemed to have drifted for a second before he spoke but when he did it was something Sam wanted to here.
"Oh... right... situation... sure."
Sam smiled, as his new acquaintance was willing to go through one of his scenarios. Sam walked to the center of the danger room or to what looked like the center and smiled and then looked at Zeke. “Man I hope you have as much fun as I do.” with that Sam looked up to the cling and yelled “Computer could you throw up my second training exercise. No Humans please.” In a second the current room changed drastically and Zeke and Sam were centered dead in a large four-way intersection in the middle of New York City. Sam smiled and started to throw his fists in the air excited he was going to have some fun.
Sam stopped jumping around as one after another the robots that caused so many problems for mutants started to appear. Sam formed ice around his fists for a little protection as he hit them together he looked to Zeke. “Nows the time to figure out what triggers that power.”

It was them. The robots created for the camps. At this moment Zeke couldn't remember their names, but he did know a few of their weaknesses. That tended to help. A problem was that he didn't have his weapons, only his mutation. But then again, probably for the better seeing how he needed to learn about this new power. Here we go...
"Call my name..." The thought of that voice hit him as the bots started to approach. Swiftly, Zeke spun and backed up against the prepared Sam. The ice fists looked intimidating, and Zeke smiled a bit, then back to business. Get the job done. Destroy these droids of sorts, and learn that power. All at once. Got it. He shot a bit of sulfur out in prep for the attack that was coming. He decided he'd let Sam make the first move.
With a final gesture, the wave of his hand, he whispered, "Beth..."

Sam noticed that Zeke was waiting, for him to make the first move. Sam was completely fine with this, he loved to smash robots. Sam leaned forward away fro Zeke and did a full out sprint and jumped in the air to do a roundhouse kick to a robots head. Sam landed the kick while letting out a loud fun oriented laughter.

The screams of cars moving around them, but strangely not seen, echoes through the simulated city. Voices shouted and car horns beeped. But the most unwelcoming sound was the robot's approaches, which was steady and sure. As Zeke watched Sam make the first move, he spun off in his own direction, completely losing track of where the ice boy had went.
He ended up doing a cartwheel up to face a robot, then realized he was probably getting too old for those kind of acrobatics. Instead, he decided to straight up fight it, and created a solid block of sulfur above the robot, then whirled it around in a circle, whipping around the robot and picking up lateral speed. The bot meanwhile made a stab with it's hand at Zeke, which he dodged and still held concentration. The bot jumped forward and essentially collided with the block which at this point was moving extremely fast.
The result was that a heaping pile of metal and sulfur was hurling towards the ground at a frightening rate. The problem was that Zeke was in the way. In a swfit motion, he kicked his body in motion to the left and narrowly avoided the metal, dissolving the sulfur in the same action, to avoid killing himself with his own power.
Sweet... It was time to try and reckon the new power from his arsenal. Before another robot came into the picture, Zeke glanced back to see what Sam was up to...

Sam was bashing and smashing robots, with little armor on his body he was completely vulnerable but he was having fun and the adrenaline was rushing so he was more than fine with it when he took a couple punches to his ribs hard. Sam continued to fight throwing himself in danger so he could do what he suggested to Zeke. Sam was throwing himself in front of punches and kicks so he to could get stronger.
Sam found himself in quite a pickle a few minutes after the carefree fighting, one of his ribs were broken and he couldn’t see out of his left eye. Punches and kicks kept finding there way to Sam’s face and after a while he was getting tired of it, he activated his powers in a full body suit and got into a defensive stance. It started to get colder and colder as Sam was trying to re gain control of the situation.
