The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Feeling the aura of insecurity within the group, Sweeney had half a mind to back away and leave the two to their own doings. He continued to carry his bag and stared at the two, pondering on his next actions. If he stayed, would he gain anything?
"I see you guys are a little..." He put his free hand on his face and moved his eyes. He thought about the work he needed to do, of course, he still had his free time to do things.
Sweeney noticed when the female of the to assumed him as a "youth", and he took it as being called a child, something he did not enjoy, but she didn't appear or act harmful so he let it go. His eyes moved to the other, the man who looked so cold in so many ways, yet not in others. Maybe he would gain new friends through them...?
"Sucks for you," He said. "About your neighbors trash."

Raina unintentionally let out an embaresingly obnoxious laugh and cupped her hands over her face to try and hide it but it was too late. She turned as red as her hair and continued laughing. "Well he's alright." she joked turning to her new friend. "Hey, you look like you been traveling for a bit." she said noticing his bag. "Why don't you take a break here in the shade. It's mighty hot out today." she rumidged in her own bag and brought out three cans of pop. she tossed one to cold steel and one to the newcomer. "Take a break!" she insisted. She had the sneaking suspicion that this man was a mutant. Humans weren't so curious because they need not look far to build a bond while mutants were constantly searching out other mutants. Being at the camps and the school taught her this. She couod be wrong, but she was going to find out.

Steel just sat their like a statue not saying anything waiting for the guy with the purple eyes to make a move. “Defiantly a mutant, but what’s in the duffle bag. ” Steel thought. Every move the mutant made Steel watched with precision waiting for him to make a move. Steel caught the can and took a drink, still staring at the newcomer. after moment or to, Steel turned to Raina and asked, "So do you usually carry three cans of pop?"

Sweeney caught the can as it was tossed to him, at the same time keeping eye contact with the other. There was an odd feeling in the air between the three, or at least that's the vibe he was getting. He didn't want to entangle himself into any trouble so he dropped his bag onto the ground and sat onto the grass next to it.
"So... do we get any introductions?" Sweeney said. "I'm Sweeney, or Jon, whatever you prefer."
Sweeney studied the others and pondered on whether they would introduce themselves. If they didn't, he wouldn't care much. On the other hand, being in New York for as short as he had without any aquaintances was quite troublesome. Sweeney decided to bait it out.

"Raina" she answered taking out her can and opening it. "and no actually, I carry a six pack." she gave a smile and kicked her bag to make the cans clang together. "Sweeney eh? That's a cool name. You from around here?" Raina wasn't from around here herself, wasn't sure if Steel was or wasn't.

“Sweeney… head it sounds familiar, never met him before though.” Steel thought. Lowering his emotional wall he said to Sweeney “Name’s Steel” but still trying to sound intimidating, because he still wasn’t sure bout this character. Steel was still trying to decide if he should just come out and ask about Sweeney being a mutant, and what were his powers, because most normal people didn’t have purple eyes.

Sweeney sipped his soda as he kept eye contact with the two people. He had gotten their names, but he still knew nothing about them. He relaxed is hands on the ground next to him and looked into the air.
He noticed that Raina's eyes were different than other "normal" people's, and that was something he admired. Nevertheless though, this abnormal attribute sparked something inside of Sweeney telling him that maybe she wasn't "normal."
A trail of ants walked by Sweeney and in response squished them with his thumb as they crept by. He continued to watch Raina and Steel as he did so, seeing what their responses would be.
"Where am I from? " Sweeney pondered this question, it was an odd one. He really didn't know what to say, so he told them what he could. "I'm not from around here, let's just say... I moved here a while ago... a long while ago."
Sweeney looked at Steel.
"You're a little odd, never heard of anyone named Steel before..."

ooc: Just an FYI Raina's eyes have nothing to do with her mutation Gray IS a natural eye colour! *shoves her sister's head to the screen* lol
ic:Raina watched him squish the ants and winced as he did so. She didn't think that was necessary... not that she favoured the 6-legged bugs much. " A while eh? but still new." she thought about this for a moment. "I guess you could say that about me too." she smiled.
She looked at Steel "I gather that's a nickname." she said jokingly hitting in the arm. "but I'm curious too."

Steel cracked a smile and said right on the spot, “You think I am odd? You’re the one with purple eyes, also I never really heard of anyone named Sweeny.” Steel felt kind of like a jerk but oh well you don’t skate on thin ice, but this character Sweeney was jumping up and down and dancing on it. Steel turned to Raina and said trying to sound as nice as possible “kinda is a nickname, so let’s just leave it at that.” Then turning back to Sweeney and asked sounding like his usual friendly self, “well I pretty sure we are all thinking it, so you’re a mutant right?”

Sweeney gazed at Steel and smiled, raising a brow as he did so. Sweeney had the same question in mind, but since Steel asked it first, he assumed he wouldn't have to ask it after all.
"Maybe..." He rose from his sitting and turned his face over to Raina. "Really an odd question to ask, but maybe if you tell me something about you guys, I might feel a little more... obligated to tell you guys."
He didn't enjoy baiting them like this, if you would call it that, but he needed to make sure he would be safe. He had had trouble in the past for revealing too much. Plus, if his assumptions were correct, he could make more allies.

Raina nearly squirt pop out her nose when Steel asked if Sweeney was a mutant. "Steel!" she yelled. "Geesh I bet you're a guy who kisses on the first date." she elbowed him. rookies! Had either one of them experieinced the camps? "If anyone were a mutant" she stressed. "They might be careful about talking about it here in a place like this." she paused and looked at both of them. "but if anyone were a mutant I may know a place they could be safe, even at least for a night."

Steel smiled at the reaction of both of the people he was sharing a drink with. Steel first answered Sweeney “well seeing as you’re a mutant and I know it, only fair if you knew that I was a mutant.” Then he turned his attention to Raina, still trying to hold back from laughing at her as she almost sneezed up soda. “And that Raina is something your going to have to figure out on your own.” He said while winking and smiling at in response for the comment she just said about kissing on the first date. “So what’s wrong with a place like this? Yea it is in public, but were allowed to be mutants and I don’t think that many people could do anything to harm us while I am around.” Steel said that trying to not sound to cocky and glancing and hopeing there were no super mutant hunting robots, or tasers or lasers. Actually there were a few things that could hurt them. But most as of now are unlikely. Turning his attention back to Raina “And where would that place be?” Steel already knew but was asking so Sweeney could hear.

(OCC hope you don’t mind me joining late) Dragon King was strolling over the grass, enjoying the fresh air, he was smiling. He was a lot more relaxed than before the raid; at least now that he knew that Matthew was safe. He was dressed in a casual sleeveless t-shirt and shorts. Around his neck was a toothed necklace. As DK, aka Strider crested the hill his enhanced hearing could not help but overhear the last few snatches of conversation.
Richard was in a good mood, and now that he learned that they were mutants he was in an even better mood. Casually strolling towards the group he raised his right hand in a sign of greeting.
“Afternoon, you guys look like you are enjoying yourselves, can I join?”

Raina looked up. "Oh really?" she laughed at Steel. "You just remember that next time stalker bots get unleashed on us" she winked at him. That was when another person aproached the group. Ok, now she really was getting nervous considering this all started with just her and now there were 4 people. Did she stand out that much as a mutant? She felt a little weary now. She looked to the others to answer the mans question.

Steel could sense Rania tense up a bit when she looked over at him with a glance. “Must be waiting for someone to say something.” Steel thought. Steel got up to go greet the man he was in a better mood and for some reason this guy gave a mellow vibe, and that was the kind of vibe that Steel liked. Sweeney was a little more nervous which in turn made Steel a little more aggressive the first time them met.
Steel walked over to the big guy and stood level with him, slightly taller and slightly wider than him, but Steel didn’t feel to intimidated. Steel extended a hand for a shake and said “names Steel”. While Steel was waiting for the guy to respond he sized him up and had a hunch that something was off bout this guy to, although he could not place it, he was becoming more and more curious bout this guy.
