The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Raina gave a whistle as she walked- it was a habbit she picked up from in the camps back before she could speak through the collar. Upon finding her old room still intact (ooc: will post that part ic later) Raina was thrilled to have found her guitar. Though she had only seperated from the building crew once or twice to strum away a little melody she remembered from being younger- the music seemed to be flowing through her ever since.
She was in her own little world today as the sun shown through the clear blue sky. The air smelled like the sweet grass and there was a gentle breeze. It was warm- much warmer than Raina was used to and the Park was rather vacant. She hadn't really stopped to think about it- but this was because many new yorkers were hitting the pools and beaches.
She trudged along needing the space and time away from her brother, Flloyd, and even the others. Having grown used to the solitude that was forced upon her in the camps she now found herself depending on it to gather her thoughts and journal. She found journally pretty helpful
She sat herself under a tree when the heat started to really get to her. With a glance around she noticed there wern't any people around so she felt save in humming a little tune to at least cool off.
As Raina's quiet hum filled the air the musical sound cooled it instantly. She felt the relief on her face. She laid back on the grass and put her hands behind her head humming away. She did this for a while before a few lyrics came out here and there. Not being able to sing for so long besides the short notes she used during the break out had taken it's tole on Raina. Music was something that came natural to her and now that she had let it out her body and soul wasn't about to stop. Peeking again to be sure someone wasn't around and paying attention she let out a few more words of the song.
"Honey Honey up in the trees fill the flowers deep in his dreams"
It was an old song from her tribe. She remembered her grandmother teaching it to her- and elder song of love and growth for nature.
Eat them out to sea by the east honey honey not next to me
She broke the phrases off here and there letting the notes hang in the air to keep it cool. It was a beautiful breath taking sound and she was getting rather carried away. The air difference and temperture difference in the park would be noticable now. Nothing extreme, but peculiar at least.
even if he wanted to even if he wanted to even if he wanted to do you think he'd come back would he come back
It was odd how Raina now found new meanings in these words. She hadn't thought about their relevence in her life before now. As she was preoccupied by these thoughts and still singing away... frost started to spider across the tree bark and blades of grass... creeping across the flowers and freezing them in place
Honey honey out on the sea In the Doldrums waiting for me Me in my boat searching for he Honey honey, food for the bees
ooc: Feel free to jump in whenever. If you'd like to hear the song Raina is singing I used it for a soundtrack for my older modeling portfolio in youtube. You can hear it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOJM1XgaSLI Ignore the photos, all old and irrelevant.

Walking in the park was a sweet luxury Sam never got used to, the warm breeze felt good on his skin which was now free of all the cuts and bruises that were marks of the past months. He was looking around seeing green tree after green tree and then he heard something. A most curious sensation came over Sam. Never before has he heard a voice like that. Interested Sam searched for the sound and noticed that an area near him, look liked a tree and the grass around the tree had been frosted. “But how could that be?” Sam thought, “it’s a warm day, and my powers aren’t doing it”. Then the answer came.
Sam walked to the tree trying to be silent and listed to the most beautiful melody, flow through his mind tingling his ears as each musical breath passed. The voice was one thing but it looked like it frosted everything around her. Sam waited till the music stopped and then said with a single tear fall from his eye, “That was beautiful, some talent you got there, talking mainly bout that marvelous voice but the frost is a nice touch to.” Sam was upset because it would seem he snuck up on her and now he felt kinda bad.

Raina gave a squeak and jumped a little. She stopped singing and blushed looking around to see how much she had frosted, she bit her lower lip hoping the person who approached her wasn't human for once. She got her answer when he began to speak,
she looked him over, he was fairly tall with brown hair and green eyes. He seemed friendly enough. He had to have been a mutant or at the very least a sympathiser when he spoke about the frost. She relaxed a little.
"yeah...?" she blushed a little more. He was just a kid to her age wise but it made her feel secretly good inside to have someone compliment both her power and her music. She smiled wide. "Hi." she patted thr ground next to her if he wanted to sit. "I'm Raina." she said introducing herself. Was he a newb to the mansion? She wasn't sure. If he wasnt maybe she could get him there. Introduce him, sign him up.
"yeah, sadley whenever I sing things seem to freeze." she gave a little laugh. "Who are you?"

Sam was smiling while he looked into her eyes, as she spoke, “Man not only a beautiful voice but eyes as well.” Sam thought. They were gray but there was something about them never before has he seen eyes like those, innocent and peaceful, he loved it.
“Raina, hmm, that’s a really pretty name” Sam smiled again watching the sun reflect in her red hair. Sam walked over and offered his hand in a handshake, “My name is Sam” Sam said trying not to reveal too much about himself. “Sadly huh? That’s some talent of yours, I would defiantly pay to see you in a concert.” Trying to make her feel a bit better, Sam spoke again “there is nothing wrong with frost, ice or snow, I myself happen to be a big fan of it.” After he said this he put his hands together and activated his powers and created a small sculpture of ice, the ice took the form of a long stem rose. “For you” Sam said trying to sound cool as he handed to her. Smiling again, Sam says " you know it rarely happens i look this cool." Hopeing that Sam could get a laugh out of her.

Sweeney stood at a nearby tree watching the couple exchange words. He couldn't quite hear what they were saying or why he took such interest in them, but he did. He cracked a small smile when he thought about how foolish it was to be a...a... stalker. He felt calmed though, around these people, there was a beautiful melody in the air, but as soon as he arrived, it disappeared. Now the couple spoke to one another and something surprised him.
There was something very peculiar. The man created a rose out of a clear cold substance, Sweeney didn't get what was going on, but he tried to hold his shock in. He started coughing, and he tried to stop, but he couldn't. He took his duffel bag around the tree in hiding.
"Great, now what. Who...?" He poked his head from behind the tree and continued to view their conversation.

ooc: Hey Sweeney you can go into your profile and edit it and make that chrono017 change into Sweeney
ic: Raina extended her hand happily and shook Sam's. "It's very nice to meet you Sam, you sure are tall!" she laughed. He seemed even taller while she was sitting. At the very least he was as tall as Naveed.
She blushed a bit as he spoke about wanting to see her in a concert. She flashed back to what Flloyd had said at the cafe a few days ago and shook the thought from her memory. Whenever she thought about her powers like that her throat hurt. "I doubt they'll be any concerts soon mate." she said pulling her collar of her shirt down to reveal the scar that went all the way around her throat- the scar from the collar at the camps that shocked her throat any time she even made a noise because her power was activated by it.
She wasn't sure if Sam had seen any other mutants with scars around their necks. It was like the calling card of being a camp survivor. Like the hollocaust victims with numbers tattooed into their arms, mutants who survived the camps often had bands around their necks or arms from the collars and bracelets.
"need to be careful singing in these parts." she commented. "Especially when you're singing freezes the air." there was no sense hiding from the kid. Afterall, what was the worst that could happen- she'd already been to the camps!
“there is nothing wrong with frost, ice or snow, I myself happen to be a big fan of it.” After he said this he put his hands together and activated his powers and created a small sculpture of ice, the ice took the form of a long stem rose. “For you” Sam said trying to sound cool as he handed to her. Smiling again, Sam says " you know it rarely happens i look this cool."[/b]
Raina's eyes widened a little as Sam produced a rose. She forced a laugh to show she got his joke but really she was in awe. The only other mutant she'd known who could do anything with ice was Iris- and iris was limited and she'd only seen it happen in the haywire state.
She reached out her hand and touched the icy pedal covering her fingers with condensation. "wow..." she murmerd still surprised. "well, I'm a little old for you. Don't let the cuteness fool you." she gave a wink and took the rose. "You're an ice manipulator too.. I haven't really met another one before." she turned the rose over in her hands. "and you did it with your bare skin! I wish I could do that."
She patted the ground again, "sit for a minute," she reached for Rupert's jacket that was on the grass. She took Rupert's jacket with her eveywhere even though it was blistering hot out. She reached in the pocket and pulled out a brocure for the mansion. "I don't suppose you've heard of Xavier's school for gifted youngsters?" he may very well have been to the school already... but with everything in such disseray she coudln't be sure. She handed him the brochure to look over.

Responding to the mark around the neck, Sam winced a little and said “looks like it hurts, first time I seen a scar from the collar so close before.” Steel took a closer look this just angered him that some people could feel so threatened by mutants that they would turn to this, Sam thought “Barbaric really, to think I used to work for people like this.” Feeling sorry is all Sam could feel for Raina.
Sam smiled once she took the rose and said, ”Well I’m a little old for you. Don’t let the cuteness fool you.” Even if that is true she didn’t look to old lower twenties at least. “Age has nothing to do with it, but I can take a hint.” Sam said laughing as he sat down next to Raina. Sam took the brochure and said “Never been a big fan of school, I have heard of it once or twice before though bout going there once or twice but been sidetracked a lot. You a teacher or something?” Sam asked with curiosity, he also didn’t comment on the fact that he was just an ice manipulator. Sam was never to keen on letting a stranger know everything about him. A chill ran down Sam’s spine like it did whenever he got the feeling he was being watched. Sam looked away from Raina trying not to make it to obvious, trying to make it like he was thinking about saying something to her. “So how long have you been at the mansion?”

"Hmmm..." said Raina thinking "I've been at the mansion about a year now I think. " she mentally tried to do the math. "I'm not a teacher, not yet anyway." she laughed. "It's really a school to learn how to assimilate into society, use and control your powers, and make friends." she added. "Not your typical sit in a classroom all day sort of place." she leaned back against the tree. Raina was to naieve to think someone might be watching them- that was just the way she was. "It's a good place though, I made a lot of friends there. And most importantly it's safe." she buttoned her collar back up.
"So Sam, appreciator of ice... how old ARE you? And you appreciate music too?" she laughed.

Now was not the time to sit and watch ideal movements and chatter. Sweeney had just committed a crime, and he needed to escape badly. His rose from his position and slowly moved away. He didn't know these people enough anyways.
He wanted to talk to them though. He held his duffel bag close to him as he approached them, hoping to not confront them, but to maybe pass by them, listening to their conversation and maybe catch a glance of who they were.
His weapon was put away in his bag so he had no means of creating any stirs. As he passed by the couple at a reasonable distance, he slowed and looked at the girl and then the other... they were different, he could tell. He continued walking, pausing again to catch another glance. Maybe they'd meet again.

Raina eyes flittered up while talking to Sam as a man about her own age walked past. Her own gray eyes burrowed into his curiously. She was a little nervous obviously, she knew Sam was a mutant but having someone walk by so closely... had he been listening in? Had he been there the whole time? Did he see either of them use their powers? She wasn't sure what to do as Sam spoke so she tried to signal him with her eyes to look up at the passerby- see if he felt as concerned as she did.

The urge to talk to the strangers was strong within Sweeney. As he stood yards from the couple, he waited and pondered. He had seen the glass clear rose he had given her. Were they...?
He didn't know, his curiosity grew even stronger. He backed up a couple of yards and stood, nodding his head at the female.

“Well truth be told I am almost twenty, and my guess not to far off from you and it’s so happens I know how to play…” Sam stopped for a second and followed Raina’s eyes. There was a curious looking man glancing over to himself and his new friend. “Sam muttered under his breath hoping she could hear it “friend of yours?” Sam new he was being watched but honestly if this guy was going to try something, it wasn’t going to happen. Maybe he had a chance if he snuck up, but out in the open and right in front of him. The duffle bag was suspicious as it is but he looks like he had been following either him or Raina… “Is he a mutant stalker?” Sam thought.
Sam was starting to get antsy again; this stalker with the duffle bag could be after his new friend. This would not be tolerated; activating his power little by little, inch by inch of his skin (skin under his clothes) were being covered by ice. Sure that no one could see his powers, but almost sure Raina could feel it, Sam felt ready for anything.

Sweeney continued to glance at the two. There was a sense of discomfort between the two groups, and trouble was the last thing he wanted to start. Not only did he have enough time to start a fight, but creating enemies would obviously be futile.
Sweeney dropped his bag, taking in a breath of air as he knew he was being watched by the other. He couldn't quite grasp exactly what they were thinking about.
He forced his haunting purple eyes to stare into the eyes of the other, who appeared as though he would beat down on Sweeney if he approached. In order to present his lack of dislike to the two, he rose his hand with a peace sign, waving it around.

Raina listened to Sam thankful that he caught her gaze and followed it. It was really hard not to be paranoid and cruel in this city- even for a mutant as kindhearted as Raina. After an experience like the camps even the kind become a little jaded. "Friend of yours?" asked Sam and Raina shook her head.
The man was now staring at them ad holding up- a peace sign? He'd obviously caught them- to a small degree at least. There was something about his eyes... purple... they were haunting like her own.
"What's your problem?" he demanded. Raina waited a moment and took in his features. He wasn't bad looking that was for sure- and was probably closer to her age. He didn't look like a mutant- at least no obvious mutation... so Raina decided to calm the mood by being funny.
"Oh, the youth of today." she muttered. "and the neighbors who throw trash on my yard." she gave the man a playful smile to show she meant no harm either. She knew Sam would likely still be a little weary- but she had only just met him and he was turning out all right, right?

“What’s your problem?” Sam didn’t really know how to react he was waving the peace sign but asking question like he was going to try to start something, sizing up the character Sam came upon his purple eyes, “that’s cool” Sam thought.
Sam didn’t lower the ice that was covering some parts of his body just in case this guy did something, Sam just sat there in silence as Raina said “Oh, the youth of today…” Sam didn’t really hear the rest of it seeing as his eyes were shifting left to right seeing if there were any passersby’s who were curious to see what was happening.
