The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She didn't know where they were supposed to be going. How could she possibly know where they were supposed to be going? Lee had been trapped in the camps up until the point where Rupert had switched off her collar, he was the one who was supposed to be getting her out of here, he was the one who was supposed to be sweeping her off her feet....
No...instead he'd nearly killed them both, merged, and subjected Lee to the side of his nature that made Tarin want to walk into oncoming traffic. Something he never wanted to do to himself, why oh why had he thought it had been a good idea. As he stood in the middle of the battlefield, blood running down his face, pain lacing every breath, and exhaustion clouding the corners of his vision, Tarin wondered if it would have been better for Lee if he'd never made it to her. Lee had seemed fine when he'd gotten there, just like always she hadn't needed him to protect her, in fact, he'd made things worse...again.
The self pity was a balm for the situation and as Lee tried to figure out where it was they needed to go, the strangest thing happened. Out of seemingly nowhere, a figure approached. He was freakin' huge, Tarin felt like a member of the lolipop guild next to him. Before he knew what was happening, the huge dude was picking him up and laying him down like a baby. Tarin decided that in the moments following the last explosion he had died, this was simply some hallucination his mind was building to help him deal with the blow.
The massive figure started severing philanges and slicing his wrists and Tarin decided that had to be it. Blood healing blood, all that jazz he'd learned sitting in his pew and folding the pamphlet into paper airplanes to throw in church when he was a kid. He was dead, and this guy was healing his earthly wounds. Suddenly Tarin was angry that all the spirits he'd known for so long had left all of that out.
It was funny, his breathing was getting slightly easier now though, and the pain he'd been feeling was eased to some degree. Exhaustion weighed heavily on him, but Tarin suddenly could make some coherent thoughts....that must be what death is like, he thought dreamily and smiled at the ginourmous dude holding him there.
"It's alright..." he said lightly at the apology for the superficial nature of the healing, "I don't need to be perfect where I'm going....do I?"
Before Lee was able to take two steps, before Tarin had managed to even put one foot in front of his other to try and walk, someone appeared in front of them, a very large man, asking if they were alright. How the hell could they be alright, Lee wondered. Didn't this man see where they were and see what was going on around them?
That's about the extent of what Lee had time to think or do, though, because the next moment this guy was putting Tarin back on the ground after all the trouble they had both gone to to get him up and...pulled a knife.
This guy didn't look like a guard, or at least Lee didn't recognize him from her last couple weeks here in the camp, but who knew? Maybe they had gotten reinforcments in, people who were pretending to care so they could close enough to 'heal', and thus more easily kill the escaping mutants.
That moment of shock and hesitation was all it took to keep Lee from moving forward and knocking the knife out of the man's hand as soon as she saw it. That moment's hesitation was all it took for him to bring the blade of the knife up to his own hand, and slice off the tips of his fingers.
Lee had already started moving by this point, moving toward the man with the knife hovering over Tarin, and her knees gave out under her as she saw the severed fingers fall to the ground. As if everything else here wasn't enough, this guy was now maiming himself.
That was about the extent that Lee's stomach could take as she saw the knife come up for a second time, and she leaned to the side, her body trying to throw up again despite the fact that her stomach was already emptied.
Luckily for her, Lee had been bent over heaving when he had cut his whole hand off at the wrist, but finally, it appeared, the guy was done. Lee was about to wipe her mouth with the back of her hand when she realized that that would probably just be worse, when she looked over to see that sure enough, Tarin was healed. At least the flesh wounds that had covered his body. And seeing that the guy's hand, who introduced himself as Dragon King, was back to normal, with no missing pieces, Lee realized that her initial worry that he was a guard or some such was completely wrong. She had been completely wrong yet again, and if she hadn't of hesitated, it would have beet bad for Tarin. Again.
"No, I don't think he can walk," Lee told the man as softly as would be audible in the current situation. "So where are we heading to?"

"In that case the quickest way back in is to fly," Kami said and turned his back to Sara, "Hop on, I can get us there quickly." It was then that he heard the bellowing command to retreat. While technically they already had, he was sure Sara wanted to go back for the couple at the very least.
He waited for her to get on him back, then he'd have them over to them as quickly as mutantly possible. For a moment he wondered what they'd do if the pair were still merged and on a rampage, but decided he'd deal with that when he came to it.
Get on? As in get on line a five year old getting a piggy back ride from their dad? Ok
Under different circumstances Sara would have protested. She would have just dashed off on foot, but she had already seen how fast Kami could move through the air. “Hell hath no mercy if I find am image of this in next week tabloids.” She mumbled. Sara hopped on in a odd awkward way, and prepared for flight.

Once Sara was on Kami unleashed a stream of energy that sent them skyward. Once high above the camp he began looking around for the merged pair. He was high enough to see all of the camp, but that also ment he had trouble identifying people from this distance. Hopefully Sara's sharper senses would have better luck.
"Can you see them?" he asked, keeping a constant stream of energy shooting down to keep them air born. Quickly he scanned the ground again, hoping to find them, but his eyes just weren't good enough.
Lift off was…. How do you say it exactly….. Well, it was interesting. Sara suddenly remembered her fear of flight from one too many individuals wanting to find out how well cats could land on their feet. She stiffened taking in a sudden inhale of air as the wing rushed past her ears. Then there was the fur wedgie she got when they were suddenly in the air. If you don’t have fur everywhere, you have no idea how bad a fur wedgie can get, and if you have never had a fear of heights while catching a piggy back ride on a mutant who could fly you have no idea how dangerous it could potentially be to try and relieve that fur wedgie. So Sara just stiffened and tried to keep still during the flight with her heart pounding against her chest and her fur uncomfortably in a wedgie.
"Can you see them?"
Oh yeah… Feline afraid of heights, having to look down at the ground…. Ok Sara could handle this. If she fell he’d catch her. Right? She answered herself with a hopeful yes and forced her eyes to focus on the ground. Scanning for the two. There! “A little to the right, on the other side of the second building. There is a third person with them and I think I just watched him cut himself?”

(OCC: Kami hope you don’t mind the modding) “We are getting you guys out of here.” said Dragon King in a deep voice. He shouldered Tarin and had just turned round, when his chest was peppered with holes. A grunt of surprise followed by a roar of pain as DK went down on one knee, a liquid that could only be compared to liquid lightening seemed to drip out of his wounds. “That is annoying.” He muttered under his breath as he waited for his wounds to heal over. “Want to play rough? Fine.” with that his skin seemed to take on a different texture, a cape fluttered out of nowhere and formed a flat shield and then hardened to protect Lee from getting hit. Something seemed to flow out of his forearms and form a shield to shield Tarin, bullets hammered into him but he slowly and surely truged towards his attackers, he was getting rather irritated now.
Suddenly a stream of energy seem to come from the sky and scatter the fire away, immediately Dragon King picked up the bace, he closed the distance with a few steps and with one mighty backhand sent two of the guards flying far away, and with a “THANKS!” yelled to Kami, he jogged along with Tarin and Lee to the APC’s.
Lee was still on her knees in the mud and blood when Dragon King told her that he was getting them out of there and picked up Tarin. Was luckily still on her knees when Dragon King stood, turned, and got pelted with bullets. Lee's eyes widened, she couldn't help it. Tarin's saviour, or at least he was doing so much more to help him than she was able to, had been shot.
Apparently Dragon King was alright, simply annoyed by the gunfire. Well why not? Lee asked herself. She had seen him cut off and regrow his fingers, why would a bullet bother him?
Moments later, he seemed to be growing armour, as well as shielding to protect her and Tarin, and then was climbing to his feet. Following the tall man's lead, Lee pushed herself back up. Hopefully her nausea would remain subsided until they got to safety.
Suddenly, the sound of the shots, at least those nearest them and actually hitting Dragon King, stopped, and the man started at a much faster pace. For the first couple steps, Lee wasn't all that steady, still not feeling the greatest after throwing up just minutes earlier, but then got her stride and was easily able to keep up with the man's longer strides. In fact, with the energy she had, she'd easily be able to out pace him at the speed he was going, though with where they were, and the fact that Tarin was currently all but completely unconscious in the man's arms, Lee was not going to.

(OOC: No problem DK)
IC: Kami followed Sarah's directions and started to drop down towards the mutants, oblivious of Sarah fear of heights. As he descended he saw several guards open fire on them, though the new mutant shrugged off the bullets and quickly shielded everyone. Figuring he could lend a hand Kami leveled his palms at the guards.
The volley of energy blasts knocked several to the ground, and scattered the others. With them now in disarray the mutant easily barrled into them, sending them scattering. Landing lightly on the ground Kami turned to Sara, now that Lee and Taurin were safe time for them to decide what to do next.
"So," he asked, "we heading out know or are we going to dive in and look for someone else?" Kami had the feeling that there was still someone that Sara was looking for, and he sure as hell wasn't going to let her wander about the camps alone.
(Apologies Kami as I was rushing to get plots over with. Heading to the On The Run[/ul] thread that had some preplanning with Abyss.)
Kami dropped and Sara got that feeling that you get when you think you’re falling. Thing is Sara was falling. Ok yeah things were controlled but she was still not enjoying things. So when they neared the ground, Sara hopped off as soon as possible and despite the way the casual observer may look at her tail, no it was not fluffed. The wind from their descent had just ruffled the hairs to make it look fluffed… Riiiiggghht…..
There was relief to see that Tarin and Lee would be taken care of. She nodded to Matthew. Odd seeing him outside of the gym but she was thankful for his help and for not having to be delayed with another trip back.
"So, we heading out know or are we going to dive in and look for someone else?"
Sara shrugged. “If you think you can keep up, I’m going to do one more sweep of this place.” To Sara's left there was a safe opening between to buildings. where it looked like the other side, was fairly non active. She took the opportunity and took off at a full tilt run.
