The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Alexandra watched her new settlement. When Nigel said that she would be taken to an apartment she imagined some old apartment, with old furniture, old paint, old everything. But this, this was almost luxurious. She let herself to fall in the comfy couch and sighed. It was a full of adrenaline day. Her first day in New York. Back in Romania, when she was afraid of being captured, she was preoccupied of what she would do if she made it to America. She didn't know anyone. But now, not only that she had a 'job' but she found someone whose orrigins where similar to hers. She was curious how this mr. Antonescu would be. She turned on the tv and changed to a news chanel. What a coincidence. They were just broadcasting news about three unidentified mutants who had attacked a pizza place with no reason. Yeah right... no reason.
It was two days since Alexandra had moved into her new accomodation when Hunter knocked on the door. He was keen to meet the latest Kabal recruit. Her abilities were most interesting, and being from Romania he would ask about the current state of his homeland.
Alexandra sighed as she poured some apple juice in a glass. Living large was good but sooo boooring. As she was left with nothing else but watching tv and reading, she decided to continue her lessons, mostly chemistry. Her employer, as she guessed, knew very well the nature of her powers as a variety of books was put to her disposal, all of them targeting the field she needed. A knock on the door made her pour juice on the table as she didn't expect visitors so soon. Swearing under her breath, she put the bottle down and walked to the door. As she opened the door, she assumed that the man in front of her was no other than mr. Antonescu himself. "Good morning, mister Antonescu." she said rather brightly.
"Please," Hunter said with a charming smile, "call me Hunter. I hope you find the place to your liking. Mind if I come in?" Entering the apartment he made his way into the living room and sat down in one of the chairs, waiting for Alexandra to do likewise.
"Now I'm here to answer any questions you may have about your new job. Feel free to ask me anything, and I shall do my best to answer." In truth that was not the only reason Hunter was here. He also wanted to get to know a little more about Alexandra.
"Please, call me Hunter.[/i]" her new boss said, a charming smile on his face. "I hope you find the place to your liking. Mind if I come in?[/i]" Alexandra gestured him to come inside. It was clearly that Hunter was feeling like home here, as he enetered the living room, and took a seat. She smiled and followed him. "This apartment is lovely."she answered. She didn't take a seat, instead, she remained in front of the man. "Now I'm here to answer any questions you may have about your new job. Feel free to ask me anything, and I shall do my best to answer.[/i]" Alexandra nodded. "Before I ask any questions, Hunter, do you want something?"
"Now you mention it I wouldn't mind a glass of the apple juice you were pouring before I arrived," Hunter answered with a slight smile. He hadn't seen the apple juice as he entered, but his keen sense of smell let him know it was there. While he didn't know for certain, it was a fair assumption that she had been pouring it as he arrived. The lack of the smell on her breath lead him to assume she hadn't drunk any yet, and the strength of the smell indicated that the juice was in a glass, and not a cartone in the fridge.
Hunter didn't bother to explain how he had determined she had been pouring apple juice as he arrived. He liked to give off an air of knowing everything, and a simple trick like this was often a good way to start building up a reputation like that. Now it remained to be seen how Alexandra would react.
The surprise Alexandra felt quickly dissapeared as she realized she was living in a world of ... let's say, special people. She didn't ask for explanations as she didn't actually need them. "In a minute." she said and left the living room. She poured apple juice in another two glasses and went back to the living room. "Here you go." she said giving a glass to Hunter. She sat down in the chair that faced Hunter's and put a leg over the other. After she sipped some juice she put the glass down and her eyes turned to Hunter. "So, what is this job about?" Alexandra asked.
Hunter watched the brief flash of surprise in Alexandra's eyes with no external sign, but a small internal smile. Accepting the glass he took a sip before answering her question. "This job is not like anything you will have ever done before," he said, "And is also not going to be always on the right side of the law."
Leaning forward he continued, "What I have recruited you for is to join the Kabal, an elite strike force of mutants who perform tasks for me that humans cannot. This may range from procuring items to eliminating targets. You will recieve a substantial salary and support for any personal projects, but you will be expected to drop what you are doing when I have a job for you. Any questions so far?"
Alexandra thought a bit then smiled. "My only interest is not to be captured. For now. As for the rest, I don't care if I'm on the wrong side of the law or if I have to eliminate targets. So, if my record's clean and I won't be chased my mutant killer robots, then my only question for you would be: what do I have to do first? "
Hunter offered Alexandra a smile as he took a sip from his glass. "I like your attitude Alexandra," he said, setting the glass down, "As for what first, I think a little power demonstration is in order. While I know what you can do, nothing beats seeing it first hand."
Hunter just wanted to see what she could really do. From there he would know who to partner her with and what missions she was suited for. He had a few in mind, but he'd wait to see what she coudl really do first.
Alexandra cracked her fingers amused. Man, she needed some action. The days she had to lay low were murder for her spirit. "So, who do I have to beat first?" she asked.
"First things first," siad Hunter rising, "let's see how well you can disintergrate objects." Reaching into a pocket Hunter pulled out a rubber ball. "Try to disintegrate this whilst it's moving."
With that Hunter tossed the ball. It bounced off the wall aiming to bounce off the floor and back to Hunters hand. Questions was, could Alexandra disintergrate the ball before it reached Hunter's hand.
Alexandra wondered if Hunter was playing with her. Her eyes focused on the ball. They color began to change in a dark blue. The ball didn't reach the floor as she transported it into her hand. She watched Hunter for a second then she looked back at the ball. In the next second, the ball simply dissapeared. She had broken all the links between atoms and now, each one of them was flying independent trough the room. Slightly waving her hand, she dirrected the atoms back in her hand and rebuilt the molecules. While she was seeing every atom being linked to another, for Hunter's eyes, it looked like the ball was growing from nothing. She recomposed it in matter of seconds and held it tightly in her hand. She closed her fist over it and let her hand down. Her powers stayed focused as she looked back to Hunter, her eyes still blue.
"I see you have good control of your abilities," said Hunter as he watched her display with the ball, "Though the eye change is a little troublesome, have you thought of getting contact lenses to conceal it? You'll be able to operate much more covertly if you can utilise your abilities without alerting those around you."
"Having seen your powers I think it's time to test your body." With that Hunter launched himself forward, not at full speed, but faster than any human could move. He lashed out with a punch, and was going to stop it a hair's breadth from Alexandra's face. A simple test of reaction.
Even if Alexandra never quite trained to improve her body in a great way, her mind was quite developed. Living with the Underground for some time allowed her to train in order to improve the speed of her powers. As Hunter was speaking, she simply guessed that he was going to try to hit her in order to test her reactions. Altough she might have had the time to do it, she didn't move. She knew that there were mutants that had super speed. With all her training, she would have never reached the speed of this kind of mutants. And by the looks of it, Hunter was this kind of mutant. Also, she had this feeling that Hunter wasn't giving the best of him roght now. A part of the wall dissapeared and reappeared in front of her face in order to stop Hunter's incoming punch. "I guess I could try contact lenses. Until now, I never needed them." she said, a bit of a smile on her face. "You have an interesting way of testing your recruits." she continued. "I do hope that I'm not gonna be permanently tested like this."
