The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sara paused as the beat to Amp’s foot changed. Her chin lifting as if to stare at the sky for a moment. Amp had turned to glance at her and now it was Sara’s turn to pretend as if she wasn’t paying attention. Her own way of messing with Amp, just a little bit. Though that beat.
She felt her lower lip slip in between her teeth as she picked out the new rhythm. It seemed a little familiar but Sara didn’t know that many songs that were normally played on the radio. She knew mostly oldies, or the things that she could pick out from different guard’s head sets.
Ok so it was a new rhythm. Sara could improvise. Her fingers drummed twice on the pan before she put together a new beat for amp and melody for herself. Much of it followed Amp’s rhythm, but every now an them, Sara through in a couple of extra eighth notes that went down the scales on the different bands. Some of her plucking was lighter interrupted by louder plucks, before going back to the piano tones. So she continued. Soon letting her vision slide down and back across to see what type of expression Amp had on her face.
In the passing days of the camp, the youngest Lupin sister ended up learning a few things that her sister kept relatively away from her otherwise. One of those things, was about how cruel a person could really be and she had found that out from not just her own experience but from what she had heard about others. Ruby knew that Emerald tried to shield her from the worst of the rumors or tales of the camps
However, what Emerald could not shield the foxling from was what she heard about in the guards barracks. Some guard was talking about how another guard about what had happened to Amp and despite the vagueness of teh conversation Ruby slowly managed to piece together what had happened. She was disturbed and angry, so angry in fact that she accidently shorted out the guards barracks making them go without electricity for a few days. Despite the shocks of an opposite polarity Ruby had gotten for it, she felt that she could for once actually enjoy the fact that her powers had went haywire.
Ever since that moment, Ruby had made a promise to herself to protect Miss Amp at all costs, to make sure no guards hurt her ever again. Though, unlike her sister, she did it discreetly by doing simplistic things like drawing attention to herself instead of the sonic sister. She did similar things when Emerald was injuried or asleep and needed protection from the various guards that wanted to her her.
Ruby was determined to watch over miss Amp like a faithful watch fox and make sure nothing hurt her. She didn't want anything bad to happen to the older girl ever again and she made sure of that by watching over her. The Fox girl knew what it was like to be without her sister in a place like this and she was determined to give Miss Amp support in her time of need.
So, the young Vulpine girl made it a mission to get Miss Amp a gift and her gift was...a granola bar she took from customs. Despite the fact that it didn't seem like much Ruby figured that every litte bit she gave counted.
Ruby tilted her head to the side as she watched Sara play some strange instrument that looked to be made by hand. Ruby followed its playing lightly, twitching her ears in time with it, she didn't mean to do it but on the higher notes she tended to twitch them.
The Small fox girl walked over to Amp and tossed the snack onto the bed sheepishly, smiling lightly.
"Miss Amp....do you like Granola? Because that bar is filled with oaty and Honey goodness." the fox girl told the older girl , ears flattening sheephsily. She glanced over at the instrument curiously, swaying her tail back and forth to the sounds it was making.
Ruby wondered if Amp had noticed the close eye she kept on her. She figured the older girl probably did not for she was most likely stuck inside her own little world like most of the more scarred mutants where. The only thing the fox girl could really do is to try her best at what she currently set out to do.

It took a few moments, but it seemed that Sara picked up the new beat, and altered hers to match. The corner of Amp mouth twitched. The trills were lost on her, but she kept up with the base. Glancing sideways every now and then, noting similar looks sent her way; no doubt this was one of the strangest jam sessions ever started.
Amid the beat, Amp picked up the vibrations of someone approaching. She tensed at first, reflexively at the light footfalls.
Something hit the ground next to her, and she flinched away, loosing the beat. Looking up, she saw little Ruby, and caught the last few words of her sentence. ".... oaty and Honey goodness."
<"What??"> her mind asked silently. She blinked rapidly, taking in the object. A granola bar?
Her lips twitched again. "Thanks, Squirt." Her stomach growled audibly, and she flinched again.
<"Stupid body.... useless noises...."> Her face and the tips of her ears turned pink, and she refused to look at either girl as she unwrapped the little bar. She paused, for a very, very long moment, becoming a petite statue for a time.
Finally she broke the bar in three pieces. She still refused to look as she hurriedly pushed two pieces in the girls' directions.
"You're still flat," she mumbled to Sara, turning her gaze upwards again, focusing with unnecessary intentness at the stars overhhead as she munched.
Sara's ears flicked back and forth as she noted the sound of Ruby's foot steps. Too light to be one of the normal guards and not the right sound to have a had rubber bottom of a boot.
At Rubby's greeting with the comment about the bar, Sara placed her hand across the bands on the pan and stopped the abruptly stopped the sound that buzzed from the make shift instrument. The thing was quickly shoved into the sack, though that sound wasn't what made her ears twitch.
Her chin lifted as she heard Amp's stomach. A sound she new way too well. As it was, with her elevated healing, her weight had gone up and down. Thanks to the hand outs from Doug, and Ayesac, she had only recently began to gain some weight back. It was still an up hill battle though and she still had bony shoulders showing through fur and drey dress if she didn't moe right to hide it.
Sara blinked a few times clearing her head, when she realized she was being offered part of the granola bar. She hesitated, thinking about closing Amp's hand around the food and telling her to eat it herself. Then, deciding to make sure the other two got more later, she gingerly plucked the mouth full bite from Amp's hand.
"You're still flat,"
Sara smirked at this thought. "And you're not supposed to be able to hear anything." She picked a few tiny peaces loose from the food at a time to make it last longer. "It's just trash anyways." She commented giing the bag a kick. Not really caring if she was heard, just sort of felt odd not to make noise.
Ruby was surprised that Amp pushed a bit of the granola bar towards her but she didn't question it. The Fox girl ate the food gingerly, brushing the stray pieces from her mouth as she ate. This camp was really taking a toll on everyone, the fox girl included. It was just a sad state of affairs this whole place was in at that moment.
"Well...as stupid as this question may seem, how is everyone doing?" Ruby asked hesitantly, her ears flat on her head. "You know I heard the guards talking and they are afraid of us breaking out."
Ruby knew this was old news but she just wanted to get the two people to talk. Little Ruby didn't have that many friends, she was liked by many people but friend wise she was lacking in a sense it was possible that she may end up strong bonds with these women in the camps.

Amp remained silent to all of the girls questions and statements. She didn't ignore them though, not exactly. She purposely didn't look at them, thus avoiding having to read lips. But their words still left a tremble in the air around them, a tremble she could feel. Extremely muted, they were, but there still the same. Unconsciously she shivered, and moved slightly closer.
Eyes still skyward, she began to hum, very quietly, a very simple melody, silent to her ears, but comforting to her body. One finger began to doodle in the dirt.
It was the first time in a long time she wasn't constantly on guard.
Sara plucked another small piece from her bit of granola. Enjoying the taste compared to the rest of the camps food. It was so much sweeter than camp slop.
"Well...as stupid as this question may seem, how is everyone doing?"
Sara glanced at Amp, then back at Ruby. “I’d like to say it was better.”
"You know I heard the guards talking and they are afraid of us breaking out."
“Good, they should be afraid.” Sara’s words were soft and steady. If it weren’t for their context, they would sound like normal conversation. “After what they put us through, they should worry about loosing control. That is if they ever had control over anything to begin with.”
Ruby nodded her head slightly in response to Sara's words, knowing that they were true. The Fox girl knew that her sister would raise all hell as soon as she got a chance to. Ruby looked over at the two, tail curling around her.
"So...nothing like this will ever happen again once we get out, right?" Ruby Asked in a quite tone, ears flat
"Ow!" Amp's finger hit a sharp piece of wood in the dirt. She pulled it back quickly and stuck it in her mouth. Glaring, her gaze turned to the girls, and she caught just the last bit of Sara's statement.
"Control? Right. Like they ever had control," she growled, not realizing she was repeating the feline-featured girl.
"So...nothing like this will ever happen again once we get out, right?"
Amp narrowed her eyes at the question. "I hope they try it again. I'd enjoy reminding them why its such a bad idea, with my own two handssss-- Ow!!" Her bracelet sent a sharp shock through her arm, as her statement ended in a hiss that sounded exactly like a Stalker.
She glowered darkly at the cuff on her wrist, and the the others. She could see the burn's on Sara's; Ruby's looked okay. But Amp had found out that a scar was still a scar, whether visible or invisible.
As Sara had finished what she was saying she looked at what Amp had hurt herself on. Tilting her head. She scooted forward to uncover the peace of wood and see if she could dislodge it. Carefuly running her hands around the edge of the thing to clear away the dirt without injuring herself and shocking herself. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Amp’s mouth move to open.
Sara’s eye brow raised as she heard the hiss like the stalker that, even though she knew the sound came from Amp thanks to her well trained senses, still made her look around. Interesting. That wasn’t something she remembered the girl doing, then again Sara hadn’t even known Amp or her sister for five minutes before the stalkers had came.
"So...nothing like this will ever happen again once we get out, right?"
Sara settled back down on a step and crossed her arms against her knees. “If something ever tries something like this again, We will simply be more prepared.” Sara wasn’t going to lie to the fox girl. Sara had been in a similar situation for a long time, a long time ago. She knew others had as well.
"I hope they try it again. I'd enjoy reminding them why its such a bad idea, with my own two handssss-- Ow!!"
There was a half smirk on Sara's face at this as she pulled up one end of the sharp peace of wood. "Join the club." Though Sara really wasn't sure how far she could go in taching the norms such a lesson. "Careful there."
