The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Wow, lots of people already Ali thought. She saw Hunter and a few people gathered around him. They must be part of his organization. One looked like he was dressed like a japanese samurai. It was kind of cool looking but then why would he dress like that in this day and age?
Looking around the table she saw the redheaded twinless girl. She was sitting with some people Ali had never seen before. I wonder who they are. The girls sitting near the sound producing redhead had a strange presence about them. The only thing she could think of was dark
Thankfully at the other side of the table were members from the mansion. Ali walked over to that side of the table. She nodded to those that she knew and stood leaning against the wall as she waited for things to get started.

Kami was guided through the complex by Nigel. They had conversed a little on the journey here, Nigel yielding few answers but asking many questions. He had seemed greatly interested in the life of a Shaolin Monk, and also quite knowledgeable on the subject.
Finally they arrived at the meeting. Kami bowed in thanks to Nigel, who returned it, before stepping inside. He had expected to look very out of place in his simple Shaolin robes while everyone else would be in modern dress, but there was another. A man next to the one who radiated a commanding presence was dressed as a Samurai and wore a blind fold.
Somewhat surprised he silently took a seat near a pair of redheaded girls and another who appeared to have blue hair (Syn, Vibe and Overcast) and waited. He knew little about the current situation, but he did know that he would not stand to see mutants oppressed.
Sapphire appeared from one of her various dark portals in the floor. She rose up from it, a slightly irritated look on her face. Sapphire wanted to handle the humans on her own but Hunter had already forbidden her from doing so.
"looks like I will have to work together with people." Sapphire muttered to herself as she leaned up against the wall.
((Ehh sucky entrance but thats all I can thinnk of right now))
Kitra strode towards the War Room. She now had two fresh sketchbooks. She would be able to see what the entire resistance party looked like....'I have a pretty good idea of what Hunter may want me to do. I think he plans on using my abilities to make copies of everyone and somehow use them for districation when we raid the concentration camps' Kitra's shoulder's slumped slightly. 'This is not going to be easy. At all.' She straightned and walked through the War Room door.....
She noted Hunter was in his normal seat, and there Shogun was next to him in a simple kimono. Those outfits are comfy.' Her eyes roamed the room slowly while she made her way to a seat next to Zodiac. Deja and Geo were already seated, Calley was sitting next to them. 'Smart move Calley. Katrina was next to Calley. Then there was Vibe, she had seemed to have a keyboard in front of her. 'I wonder how that will work?? Probably something so she can speak her mind.....figuratively anyway.' Syn was in the seat next to her and Nicki was nearby leaning against the wall.
Mandain/Horus was sitting alone with a few seats to his right and left. A young lady had just finished speaking and was in the grip of a stern looking guard. Another young woman had taken a seat by Shogun and from the looks of the watch on her wrist she was another Kabal member. Tris had just slumped into a seat near the other Kabal members. Ali had just joined the other mansion members and there was a male*Kami* and female*Overcast* that she hadn't met yet. Then Abyss walked in and she noted that Sapphire was leaning against the wall. *OOC: My apologies if I've missed anyone*
Kitra finally reached Zodiac and grinned at him then sat next to him and pulled out her sketchpad and looked at Hunter and merely waited for the meeting to start.....

Twice now, a record for one year, TJ was wearing her lab coat. She moved briskly down the halls towards the War Room. Hunter hadn't invited her. She wasn't part of the Kabal, Xmen nor the Order, but she was a mutant. And while she didn't really care too much about that, this seemed as if it would be interesting to be involved in. If it proved to be boring, she'd leave.
She was one of the last to enter the room and moved towards Hunter ignoring all the others. "Hunter." She put one hand on her hip, her face was one of annoyance but also held a chipper smirk. "You didn't tell me about this. I'm hurt, you know that? You can't hide things like this from me, nothing that seems like it'd be interesting at least." She gave the man a wink and moved to the side of him and sat in a nearby empty chair, opening her laptop on the table and putting her headset on as she opened her computer. Nothing about this meeting had been in the computers of course, but she knew about the War Room and what it's function was. She always monitored the room and those that entered and exited it to see if it would something interesting and entertaining.

After hanging out with Katrina for a bit, Kaz had gone back to the room where he sat and looked at the syringe hunter had given him. At first he had decided against using it, figuring he would ward off any of Syn's tricks by himself. Though, after he thought about it, he realized he hadn't felt that intense murderous rage that had seemed to stay boiled up within him just under the surface, which had helped him deal with Syn's tricks once. Reluctantly he gave himself the shot. He didn't feel any different, and was quite glad about that. When he looked at the clock he realized the meeting time had passed by at least 10 minutes. <Better late than never.> Just after he had left his earlier meeting with Hunter, Kaz had someone working at the labs find him a suit that would fit him and have it brought to him. It apparently hadn't been all to hard, though where they had found it he had no idea, nor did he really care.
Kaz headed towards the meeting wearing his red undershirt and black suit, with his long silver hair pulled back. When he entered he saw Abyss leaning against one wall, while Nicki was leaning against another. He also noticed how he seemed to be the last person to arrive. It never crossed his mind that it mattered. He moved over to Nicki, kissing her gently on the cheek, took her hand and sat down at the table with Nicki next to him, opposite of Hunter. He knew he was late, and he didn't necessarily care. Whatever was said before he entered was of no concern. "Well, let's get this thing going." He looked at each person, nodding to some and glancing at others. He smiled specifically at Katrina, and gave Vibe a longer look and nodded to her as if to say, 'We'll get her back.'
(OOC: Having not seen Sentinel for a while I’m going to start without him. The posting order is:
Hunter Shogun Dream Geo Calley Vibe Katrina Syn Nicki Mandain Fade Nox Zodiac Overcast Tris Raven Fire Kami Sapphire Abyss Kitra Gearhead Kaz
Stick to it. Posts out of order will be deleted.)
IC: Hunter watched as they all entered one by one. The groups seemed to segregate themselves naturally, with the two new comers Zodiac and Kami filling in the gaps. Gearhead’s arrival was unexpected, and unwanted. Hunter had wanted to keep the girl secret, however so long as she didn’t reveal anything about what she did there would be no issue.
Kaz arrived last and, after going to Nicki, took a seat opposite him. Hunter wasn’t surprised, unlike the other members of the Kabal Kaz had always been more independent, seeking a partnership relationship than the employer and employee, or in Shogun’s case lord and samurai.
With everyone here Hunter began. “You have all been called here to discuss the matter of the mutant registration law and our action against it. Almost all of you have lost someone to this law, be it a team mate or a relation. I understand that you want them back, and that is what I want to see happen.”
Tapping the console on the arm of his chair an image of the power inhibitor bracelets appeared and began to slowly rotate. “As you are all aware,” Hunter continued, “humans can not hope to contain mutants so long as they have access to their powers. This is what they use to level the playing field. These bracelets monitor your body and the moment you begin to activate your abilities it gives you an electric shock. If you do not stop utilising your powers the shock will swiftly render you unconscious.”
He let that sink in before replacing the image of the bracelet with one of the camps. “This is where the mutants are being held. I have infiltrated a man, a mutant, into the camps. He’s informed me not only of the camp layout, but of guard, and most importantly Stalker positions. The guards consist of both humans and mutants. Mutant guards are ones who have submitted willingly to the humans and are free to use their powers on other mutants.”
Pushing another button the image of the camps disappeared and was replaced by a life size image of a Stalker. “These, as some of you know first hand, are Stalkers, the humans’ ultimate weapons. They’re only concern is the capture and containment of mutants. We have begun to discern that there are different types, though how many we are unsure.”
“There are at least two, those adapted for stealth, with the ability to make themselves invisible, and those for front line combat, able to protect themselves with a powerful energy shield. More battlefield data is required before the scientists here can begin to work on effective counter measures to them, so getting that data is a high priority.”
The image of the Stalker faded. “I have no doubt that most of you wish to attack the camps and free those who have been captured. While that is a route I intend to take, that is not the main plan of attack. That is a diversion. All of you here who wish to can attack the camps, keep the human’s attention there as well as freeing you friends and family. While you do, I will be infiltrating various organisations and destroying them.”
“With those organisations gone I can begin to exert sufficient pressure to get the law rescinded. No matter how hard you fight them, how much damage you do, the true battle here is not physical, but legal. If you were to take the battle to the White House, you would only strengthen the humans resolve. Instead, I will take the battle to the courts, and while you keep attention focused on the camps I can get the law defeated.”
He paused, letting all present digest what he had just said. In effect he was calling for a war, a fight against the humans. But it was more than that. He was also naming the battlefield and declaring the war was merely a diversion. “Now is the time for you to all voice your opinions on the matter.”

OOC: This is going to be SO much fun! Oh, and if I get any of this wrong, feel free to M me and I'll be more than happy to change it
IC: Being the first to arrive, Shogun got to analyse each person as they came in. First was a girl that he had never met before, who sat down and waited. Perhaps she knew someone else who would be attending? Then in came someone else, a young man who kissed the girl and sat next to her. He gave a nod to Antonescu and Shogun, and Shogun thought he could sense something in him... detirmination? That seemed to be it.
Then came Calley. Due to previous instructions from Antonescu, he completly ignored the teenager, who sat next to the couple. So those two were mansion residents? That would explain why they had none of Antonescu's shroud clinging to them. Another young girl entered, again lacking any shroud, and she was angry at something. Very angry. There was something else. She seemed to be missing something, not physically, but as though something precious had been removed. Strange. She chose a seat away from everyone else, and by accident caused a small panel to slide out of the table. She typed something into it, and Shogun heard a computerised voice speak out across the room. Was she unable to speak for herself? Well, it seemed to improve her mood a little. Maybe the 'missing part' of her was her voice?
The next entrant was the last thing Shogun was expecting. It was a small child, who seemed horribly out of place. She sat with the other mansion residents, and looked around at everyone else. The next person in gave off an aura of leadership, which was much stronger than any other he had witnessed. This person was a leader, and knew it. She gave a few smiles around the room, but didn't say anything.
Another girl burst in, apparently thinking herself late. She moved off to the back of the room, and gave the child a little wave. The next person in sparked Shogun's curiosity. Like Calley, he seemed to have a split personality, though it wasn't quite the same. The personality that was in control was normal, but the other one was far darker. He couldn't tell a lot else, as it seemed buried deep within his mind. This meeting should be extremely interesting.
Another woman entered, or rather was forced in by a large guard. She expressed her wish to join the resistence. What was she talking about? Shogun knew nothing of any resistence. She mentioned about putting behind differences, so Shogun assumed that most of the people here knew each other, and that they weren't all on the best of terms. she was a little uncomfortable in this environment, though she hid it quite well behind a wall of calm. Then Nox entered, and took a seat next to Shogun. She scanned the room, taking in everyone present.
Shogun sensed someone else entering, and yet again it was someone who he had never met. But since he had only been in the country a short while, that would make sense. What made less sense was the lack of shroud wrapped around most of the people. They were probably all from different groups, like the mansion residents. He could vaguely work out who belinged to which group by their seating. Yet another unknown entered, and took a seat by the woman who leaked leadership.
He could sense the wrappings of the aura coming long before it arrived, and it turned out to be one of the girls that had come to him in Japan. Tris, he thought her name was. She took a seat near Antonescu, Nox and himself, and glanced around the room. That seemed a very common thing to do here; not a lot of people knew each other, apparently. At least he wasn't the only one.
another girl entered, who seemed... firey. As though she could burst into flame at any minute. Shogun had no idea whether it was metaphorical or literal, or both. She stood behind the mansion residents, and Shogun started to compile a list in his mind, sorting out who was in which group. Not knowing how many groups there were didn't help, either. The next person to enter intrigued Shogun. This was another Asian man, though he wasn't japanese. There was a lot of energy inside him, bubbling away, but the man had masterful control over it, and to anyone else it wouldn't show in the slightest. That must have taken years of practise to master.
The next arrival was another surprise. She rose up out of the floor, though that patch of floor was perfectly normal. But Shogun could sense the ripples coming from her, it was her mutant ability. She muttered to herself about having to work with people, and seemed to be the sort of person that would prefer to work on her own. Not unlike himself.
The next person was unmistakably a mutant. He was huge, with a great amount of strength in him. But his mind was very interesting. It was like the multiple personalities, but these were all very similar to each other, and most interesting was that there was several of them. Shogun couldn't count them though, they were buried too far into his mind. Then Kitra entered, and as she moved to sit with one the guys on his own, she swept her eyes around the room. Probably trying to see how many people she recognised, like everyone else.
Gearhead entered next, and Shogun could instantly tell that Antonescu was not pleased about it. Maybe she hadn't been invited? Her words confirmed it, and she went to an empty seat and pulled out something. Shogun had no experience of laptops, so he wasn't entirely sure what it was. But the screen and keyboard arrangement was becoming familar to him. Another unknown man entered, and kissed one of the mansion residents on the cheek. Another couple. They sat down opposite Antonescu, and asked him to 'get this thing going'. Which he did.
Hunter opened with explaining partially why they were there. Something about a law, and people being lost to it? Were there mutants being hunted out there? Then Antonescu mentioned getting them back, so Shogun assumed that there were captured and kept somewhere. Antonescu tapped something on his chair, and a hologram appeared. Shogun could only tell this because of the people focussing on it; to him, it seemed as though they were all staring at thin air. Antonescu mentioned that it was an image of something that would shock a mutant when they used their powers. Shogun was unsure what would happen if he were to wear one, and had no intention of finding out.
The hologram changed, apparently to an image of where the mutants were being held. Antonescu said that he had a man on the inside, which would explain where he had gotten all his information from. Then Antonescu began talking about something called 'Stalkers' which were some sort of weapon. From the way Antonescu talked, he made it sound like they were people. Yet he called them weapons.
He went on to describe his plan for freeing the captured mutants and revoking the law. Shogun had no care for the sabotaging of organizations or the infiltration of governments, it was the attacks on the camp that interested him. He remembered how Antonescu had mentioned people losing teammates to the law. Because this hadn't happened to Shogun, and he wouldn't particularly care if it did, he could retain an entirely objective view of the situation. The fact that Antonescu was focussing on the large picture, meant that Shogun decided to focus on the smaller details.
"You say that Stalkers are weapons. What sort of weapon?" He hoped that they weren't guns, but that was very likely. Then he remembered his armour, and actually looked forward to the effect it would have on an enemies morale when their best weapons prove useless. "I care not for what you do regarding infiltrating organisations, I require information on the attacks. The layout of the battlefield, the enemies strength, what they know of us." Due to his lessons from his grandfather, he was a great strategist, but he would have difficulty adjusting tactics when it came to modern dar warfare. This would certainly be a worthwhile experience.
As Deja looked around, she noticed many people. Besides the warrior guy and Hunter, there was her boyfriend who sat beside her. She then rubbed his back. Then there was Calley. Someone she met earlier and really didn't care for. Anyway's there were alot of other people , like some red headed chick who seemed layed back. The youngest one Katrina. She was so..cute! Deja smiled at her. Also there was a lady with red streaks in her hair. She looked like an evil hooker but Deja wasn't gonna start. You know those kinda people who you just know, your not gonna get along with. Syn was that. There was also many others entering, like Raven fire who she waved at and Fade who she smiled at. But as Deja looked back, she noticed someone familia. She wasn't sure who it was but he just gave her this vibe inside. Soon hunter started speaking. She thought these stalkers were horrible but she wanted the mansion residents back. Like Micheal, Deathstar, ted and anyone else. She then heard the army guy speak. That's when she spoke.
"Look,I want to get everyone back as much as you. Now..this distraction? If these stalker's are as bad as they seem, how are we suppose to take them down?" Deja had saw from the video at what they had done. It was horrible. In behind of Deja, she noticed someone with a sketch book out. She noticed her writing, and looked at her. She spoke up. "Umm..what are you writing in a sketch book." Deja knew that people all around her had abilities and whats not to say that this one was drawing their death or something. Deja really started getting a headache.
((OOC: Much agreed man this is gunna rock hard core))
Tristan didn't really pay attention to people as they entered, he took note of those he new. He wasn't feeling as easy going as usual, he felt less like goofing around and more serious then he ever had before. He watched silently as each holograms came up and listened to the information that went with them. The samurai guy spoke of information on attacks. "I've never been great with politics but I'm telling you right now, i want to be on that front line. I might be young and still don't have full control of my powers but i can still do some serious damage. Besides my friends are in there and someone has to put these humans into there place." He leaned back in his seat, "These Stalkers look like they can be a serous problem though, do we know of any weak spots or useful stuff like that." He knew that he screwed things up alot but he wanted to get back at the humans, expecially so he could help Ted, the first friend he had made since being outcasted by the friends and family he had back home.

Calley
Calley glanced curiously at everyone entering the meeting, nodding at those he knew from the Mansion, and generally feeling smug about knowing everyone else but not letting it show. Of the many many ones he knew, there was the Scary Boss Man (‘nough said), Shogun (shiny armor!), Dream (hopeless idealistic X-Men wannabe), Geo (kinda cool realist X-Men wannabe), Grumpy (...minus Wonderful? And talking through a computer, apparently), Katrina (cried nonsensically on occasion, but could turn books into sunflowers, so: stamp of approval!), Syn (stupid), Nicki (scary), Horus (crazy), Fade (X-Men-y), Nox (roof-y), Tris (a fan of bondage), Ali (FIRE!), Abyss (awesome monkey tail made more awesome by the fact he wasn’t ratting Calley out as a spy left and right; officially the coolest person in the room), Kitra (silly Sis), Kaz (as stupid as Syn, but more vocal, and less prone to throwing his shoes).
Of the ones he didn’t know... A generic dark-haired tall teen, who waved at Kitra but sat with no-one in particular. No visible sign of his mutation that Calley was pickin’ up. Which raised a point: Slate... Actually, Nicki and Shogun raised the same point. The tangled mass of Calley’s thoughts was bound to give any psychic a head-ache, but on the off-chance they might be able to read something from him, they’d agreed that Slate would take control whenever psychics or potential-psychics were around. Nicki and Shogun were definitely psychics, and they didn’t have a clue about these new people’s mutations, so... Slate stepped to the fore of their mind, and began to think only of what a tiger shifter could do for the Resistance. Safely tucked behind a few mental barriers, Calley and the clutter kept evaluating the room.
Besides the tall guy (seriously, what was with mutants and being tall?), there was a woman who was just too easy. Seriously. She walked in, gave a once-over glance to the only X-Man present, and then sat next to Syn. It didn’t take a multi-shifter to ferret out her as an Order member. And the cloud of darkness that surrounded her? Not exactly subtle. Even if he hadn't seen her in action at the Sanctuary Raid, he would have been able to figure out everything he needed to know about her during her first thirty seconds of being in the room.
Speaking of darkness manipulators: he noted that Sapphire Lupin was present and accounted for. Cool. He’d never personally met the young woman, but he had overheard plenty about her whilst catting at a certain NYPD office. Not really someone he wanted to hold a conversation with, nor expected to survive a conversation with. Last he’d heard, she was an, ah, independent contractor, and the fact that she leaned against the wall instead of joining any of the little groups seemed to confirm that.
Then there was a random Asian man, maybe early twenties, in… monk robes. That right there immediately sent him to the top of Calley’s “find out about” list. He sat with the Order, so chances were good that he was just one of those inactive members of the Future Leaders of Tomorrow Club that Calley hadn’t met yet, just like Miss Blue Hair of Subtlety. He would have to remedy that.
Another one who topped his list: the petite purple-haired woman who talked to Hunter like she was too valuable to be killed. Or even to be brought to the attention of the assembled group. …Interesting. He would very much like to know why she could be that shame!y. Potentially, this was the "Gearhead" that Nox had mentioned to him, up on the roof.
On an unrelated note, it was less than a half-hour into the meeting, and already his attention span was dead. Dead like a possum that curled up in front of a semi. None of this information was new to him, except that the Boss Man was going to be playing the political angles. Parts of it—like that lovely Stalker hologram—his own reckon had probably been in large part responsible for. Since Slate was in control, their body continued to sit still. Heck, Slate was even paying attention. Calley’s part of their mind, though, started thinking random thoughts.
You know what would be cool?
Please do not distract me. One of us needs to be attentive for this.
Shifting to something poisonous. That’d be cool. Do we have any poisonous forms? Slate? Do we?
I am ignoring you.
We should get some. We should… go to the zoo! Slate? Do you want to go to the zoo? Slate? Slate?
After Geo had spoken, Slate raised his own hand. “If the sole purpose of our raids upon these camps is to act as a decoy, then I cannot truly see the worth of them. Will not any escalations of violence perpetrated by mutants merely make repealing the law more difficult? Additionally, has this spy of yours turned up the exact number of Stalkers we can expect to face at the camps? And who will be in charge of planning and carrying out the assaults? I believe that we can all agree that a significant degree of,” he glanced to the various factions, “coordination will be necessary, if we are to work together successfully, never mind face the Stalkers to safely free our respective friends. On that note: on what timescale are we working? Precisely when do you envision seeing results from us? How much time will we have to train with each other?” Slate was well aware that he and Calley would not be fighting; never-the-less, it seemed to him that Hunter might be using this group as cannon fodder, and that was not something which sat well with him. He could not quite be sure why. The fact that he could feel ill-at-ease was new enough; he was as of yet unskilled at locating the cause of such "emotions".

For the most part Vibe ignored those entering the room. The only ones she acknowledged were Syn, Nicki, Abyss and Kaz, and none of them she even smiled at; her mood simply lightened a bit and she nodded slightly when they came toward her.
Did I miss anything?
Vibe shook her head slightly at Nicki's question. >Nothing important,< she grumbled mentally.
Then Fade walked in. Vibe's eyes widened and she straightened. >Fade!< Her mental tone was gleeful to see her cousin. But just as quickly she gave Syn an uneasy look, and turned her eyes downward. They had never gotten around to telling their leader about their newly discovered relationship. Not that they had tried very hard; how would Syn have reacted if she knew that one of the Xmen was their cousin? Vibe wasn't sure she wanted to find out, especially not on her own without Amp to back her up.
She began fiddling with the keyboard, while everyone else filed in. The monk recieved a bit of an incredulous stare, simply because of his garb, but after that was dismissed from her mind. As she looked away, she also noticed that Kitra had slipped in as well, and she had more of those sketchbooks. That made her a tad nervous....
She felt eyes staring at her and turned, to find Kaz looking at her. The last time she had seen him, Amp had been arguing with him that Registration would never happen. Her eyes blurred, and she turned back to the keyboard, swallowing back tears. Finally Hunter started the meeting, and she used that to focus on instead of the emptiness inside.
Despite her usually short attention span, Vibe listened raptly; she tried to take in anything and everything that might help her get her sister back. A mixture of anger and relief flooded her when the power-negating bracelets were described. Without Vibe nearby, Amp would be safe from the shock, but that meant that even if Vibe got close enough, she still couldn't do anything.
She cringed noticably as the Stalkers were discussed; any telepath or empath nearby would be able to see the images flashing through her mind from the Sanctuary Raid, and the last time she'd seen Amp fighting those creatures. She frowned in dismay when no sure solution was put forward to deal with them.
>Diversion?? That should be the main attack!< Vibe thought angrily. She went to type that into the keyboard, but by the time she got it out, the conversation had moved on. She huffed angrily, and crossed her arm, sulking. Who cared about legal battles and organizations? The only organization she wanted gone was those camps! And so what about 'human resolve'? The only reason the humans were winning was because of those freaky robot-monsters. Without the Stalkers, humans were nothing.
“Now is the time for you to all voice your opinions on the matter.”
Vibe's scowl deepened. Opinion? Her opinion was that all this talking was useless and that they needed to focus on getting rid of the Stalkers and destroying the camps, and getting her sister back.
Except.... she didn't have any ideas how to accomplish that either....
Anger and frustration radiated from the redhead like heat from the sun, and her eyes glowed intensely.
(OOC: Sorry, not much to say yet, just emotions galore, lol)
As Katrina watched them enter, the mutants sorted themselves into groups, just like cliques back in school.
Lots of people smiled at her, and a few gave her looks that clearly stated that she was too young to be here, but none of them made her leave. Since it was okay with Mr. Antonytail that she was here, apparently it would have to be okay with them too.
She was interested to see that one of the girls arrived by melting up through a shadow on the floor. That was cool and just a little creepy. Shortly after that, someone very large and red came in. Katrina was surprised to see that he had a red monkey-like tail. Even after meeting Kaz, this individual’s obvious mutation was a little shocking. There were all different kinds of mutants it seemed. She had been leading such a sheltered life before, she wondered how she ever could have missed that people came in such a wide variety.
She noticed that Kitra had brought sketchbook or two. She mentally wished that she had brought something to do in case things got boring before realizing that she didn’t have anything to bring with anyway.
After Kaz came the meeting finally got started. Mr. Antonytail started by explaining the situation using a really cool hologram system. Katrina could see though it and see it at the same time, kind of like one of her own illusions. Mr. Antonytail described the mutant registration law, electrified bracelets, concentration camps, ultimate weapons, and monster robots that could turn invisible.
Katrina sank down in her chair as he spoke. It was all so horrible. It was like the holocaust in Germany all over again. The law had only become a law very recently. How could the government have prepared all of this so quickly? The government, her father was part of the government. He had supported this law. She felt guilty, she had even been to a party celebrating the passing of this law. Just a few days ago she hadn’t even cared enough to pay attention to this news. How could she have been so blind that she didn’t see this oppression building up? And what about her father? What was his role in all of this? And her mother, couldn’t she have influenced him not to help pass the law? She was a mutant after all!
This war really should be a fight against the law. Actual battles would probably end up in unnecessary loss of life. Geo, for example, seemed determined to die on the “front lines”. Serious Calley had already voiced her concerns on that subject, and she kept the rest of her thoughts to herself.
While waiting for everyone that was going to be part of the meeting show up Syn took note of those who entered. She especially took note that one of the X-Men had either survived or escaped the raid on the mansion. Syn recognized the girl from KP. Dorian had subdued her and had carried her out of the KP building while confronting Tricity. The girl's comment on setting aside differences went in one ear and out the other for Syn. She didn't care for the X-Men. They were almost as bad as the humans.
A black haired girl rose from a black spot in the ground. This intrigued Syn greatly. There was something about the new arrival. Something dark but it wasn't because of her power. No, it was something within her. Might have to speak with that one she thought.
When things finally started Syn listened to Hunter speak of the humans, their new law, their new weapons and how he was going to single handedly change the law almost made Syn smile, but she held it back. She held back the smile for a few reasons. One of which was because she knew the Stalker robots drew fear from Vibe. That wouldn't help anything. Syn wanted her members to be reassured that they would get revenge as well as regain their missing members. Another reason she didn't smile was because she didn't like the idea of Hunter going to over-turn the law by himself.
The man standing next to Hunter made the first comments, but they seemed focused mostly on the robots and the assault on the camps. He was followed by a girl from the mansion group. She didn't seem to know much about the robots ferocity and Syn stiffeled a laugh by fake coughing. Two more of the mansion residents spoke up. One practically signed his name to being canon fodder while the other questioned Hunters timing of events.
Syn decided to speak now. Her tone was unwavering and had confidence sewn within it. First she directed her comments to Shogun. "The weapons Hunter is speaking of are advanced robots of some sort. They are the sole reason the humans have gotten this far so quickly with their precious new law."
Now she directed herself to everyone. "We fought those machines hard. The ones that seemed to be designed for stealth are the weaker version, but they make up for it in sheer fighting ability. We managed to seriously damage several of them. The second type proved to be much tougher even without their shields. They aren't made the same and were fitted with longer ranged weaponry as well as having close combat weapons. The humans let the robots do all their dirty work while they stood back and waited for the dust to settle."
Syn paused and smiled in a sinister manner as an image of her brothers clones popped into her mind's eye. "The humans should've acted more instead of being sitting ducks to be slaughtered." While making that statement Syn placed her hand on Vibe's shoulder and gave a gentle squeeze. It probably wouldn't help her feel much better but maybe at least knowing that Amp wasn't lost without great sacrifice to the humans might boost her up a little.
"I am curious as to who is going with you to fight this law Hunter and how are you going to ensure it won't happen again? I'm sure I could accompany you. I can be very persuasive as you already know." With that Syn gives Hunter a subtle smile as she knows how uncomfortable she can make him.

Nicki looked around the room as Kaz sat her down beside him. Sitting across from Hunter was odd and made her feel slightly out of place. There seemed to be a strategic set up to things like sitting and she felt that her place, countering the leader of whatever this group of people could be called, was undeserved. In any case, Nicki listened intently to what Hunter had to say and waited for someone around her to voice an opinion here or there. Not many people did.
The person who concerned themselves with battle strategy, whom Nicki did not know, was apparently named Shogun, according to his own information being exuded. He was the only one (besides Vibe) who seemed to have any demands on Hunter. Nicki turned to Hunter, clearing her throat slightly. "Mr. Antonescu, I don't mean to be disrespectful, but aren't your two plans somewhat conflicting? First off, you say that you can take down the organizations while the rest of us are raiding the camps, why can't you do that now? How is the raid relevant to the cause? And if you have all this information and all these political contacts, why aren't you in Washington right now trying to get them out? Second, if a physical fight in Washington D.C would hurt the cause, why wouldn't one in New York hurt it? I want to empty those camps as much as anyone else but what you're saying doesn't actually make sense..." Nicki looked down to her lap as she finished, biting her lip. "Please, tell me if I'm misunderstanding..."
