The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mandain, still sitting down listening to what people had to say. The first one that spook up had to be the "leader" or some sort of thing, and that was the guy who needed to clear up Horus or whatever. One man began speaking about how to win this battle, he spook about some of us going to raid the camps and that he was going to defeat the law in court. . Some other girl sitting started speaking up some words about how his plans are in conflict with each other, but the words passed him by. None of this really mattered for Mandain, he knew Ali was safe, and for the rest he really didn't have any friends here in this place Though it would be selfish not to help others it could also harm himself, physical then, but since those robots could become a problem as he already met them once he decided to stand up and speak some words.
" As I can see you all want to free friends, team mates whatever, I also heard the name Stalker pass by, if I'm correct that are those robots that are almost unbeatable. Since I don't really have something to save in these camps I'd rather pass on this mission of yours, but since my powers can give the upper hand I will lend you my assistance." Mandain raised his hand, palm to wars the ceiling. A purple ion ball now was glowing in his hands. "This is Ion, it destroys any technology it hits, and paralysis humans/mutants." As Mandain got back in his seat he retracted the Ion back in his palm and sat down looking around the room.
Fade was released from the man's grip and moved over to sit next to her cousin. Her face still appeared stern, if there was one thing Fade was good at, it was hiding, whether hiding physically or hiding her emotions, she was pretty decent at such. Her mind was racing but her breathing was calm. Everyone seemed decked out in their battle uniforms, yet unfortunately, Fade had high-tailed her way away from the mansion once she saw that she could not fight, just run, not the point. The point was that she lacked her X-Man uniform, however, judging how most of these in the room had not had pleasant records in her book, she figured this was not too much of a large problem.
Her back was straight and her deep blue eyes penetrated the leader as she listened intently to what he had to say, well, all until she blinked in which case they turned an astonishing yellow. Finally, after listening to what everyone else had to say, she concluded that she would probably be the one distracting. Fun business...
The Stalkers did not sound very fun, but what could she ask for being an X-Man? She had faced quite a few battles, so a highly advanced robot would not be too too difficult to distract, or at least she hoped. No room for doubt, no room for second thoughts. She was to do her job, claim back her X-Men and then sort out friends from foes.
"I volunteer as a distraction." Stating her creditials would be completely stupid, so she decided to just leave them out and remain silently listening and figuring out what it is that she could do. Unfortunately, she was not well educated in everyone's powers, however, she had a feeling that the extend of her fellow revolutionaries' powers would soon be revealed, so yet again, her mouth stayed shut. Her current position next to her cousin was calming, since the two redheads were similar in some ways, yet different in their morals. Fade had taken her bad past and made it into something to never become whereas Amp and Vibe had never reached that phase and still lived the way that Fade once had...well...somewhat.
The flow of people continued, clearly she wasn’t as late as she thought. A few caught her attention: the red guy from the Black Talon went and sat on the other side, a girl who appeared out of a pool of darkness, Now that was interesting, and lastly Kaz, who she hadn’t seen since that first day, a lot had changed since then.
Hunter then began. The brackets were entirely new to her, and she quickly concluded under no circumstances was she letting herself be caught, she did not want to wear one of those. The camps, were next, guard and stalker positions: certainly useful. The holograms she admitted were useful, especially for those like her who had never seen a stalker. So now there was an image to the idea that had formed in her mind due to the information she had come across, the majority of which was down to Calley. “getting that data is a high priority”, he had a point there. She had never dealt with anything other than human, and while maybe not as scared as she should have been because she hadn’t seen them in action, she was nevertheless keen on knowing the enemy better. The fact that the war would be a distraction wasn’t a problem to her though she figured it might be for others. If they were going to win they needed the political business to work, and if that relied on a distraction then they were going to make one hell of a distraction.
At his invitation others began asking question or simply stating opinion, the majority of which was a call for more information, which she certainly agreed with. The boy was surprisingly realistic, and brought up some of the other practical problems that needed to be addressed as well as their serve lack of information. The girl after him brought up some interesting points as to whether the raid would cause the politics to fail, in Nox’s experience, however, humans were firstly not rational, and secondly uncoordinated and separated, since their leaders were all very keen to lead without considering help from others. The purple ion created by the next speaker was especially intriguing, and would be certainly an useful weapon against the stalkers. Before it was her turn, the lady before made the simple statement that she was willing, wiliness without any complications it was a nice change. “I’ve always preferred a straight forward battle than one tangled in legal business, but if thats the way we’re going to win this then that is how we’ll do it. I agree with what has been said, and though I happy to fight, it would be foolish to do so without more information. I would suggest if possible we try to capture dead or alive a single stalker so we can truly understand what we’re up against.” She spoke clearly and confidently, and hoped her idea would be well met, and if such a capture wasn’t within their abilities, then how would they mange to a full scale attack?
OOC: Sorry, I've been busy lately. If I don't respond within 24 hours, feel free to skip my turn next time.
Overcast listened carefully to all that everyone had to say. She wished she had a little more of a strategic position in this whole affair, but she felt like a bit of an outsider for her lack of information. Worst of all, it was her own fault for being gone so long. But she absorbed as much information as she could, processing everything and categorizing it with the knowledge she already had of what was going on. When they talked about a battle she rubbed her now-sewn-up-and-bandaged arm, wondering if she should volunteer for that or not.
The meeting was very democratic, as she observed everyone asserting their own opinions on the plans. Some were willing to do whatever they were told, others were free-thinkers, trying to reach their own conclusions about what should be done and how. She thought that the basic plan so far sounded pretty good, if not a little shady in some places. But what plan was ever perfect from the beginning? A girl nearby suggested capturing a stalker to study it. "I would be willing to help snag one of those robots if you all want to figure out the bells and whistles on it, but I would be concerned about the possibility of some sort of tracking device on it or something. When it comes ot foreign technologies like that we should probably expect the worst."
(((OOC: Apologies, can't really think of much to say , writers block,- or some such, ick.......so please skip my turn, else I dont know how long you'll have ta wait. lol. bows and fades into the background ))

Ali watched the room fill up and the occupants seemed to seperate into three groups. She knew the mansion people and she guessed those that surrounded Hunter must be his group. Who was this third group though? She had never heard of another group of mutants. Where they just mutants from the streets? She'd have to find out more about these people if she could.
So the plan was to learn about the humans new toy and then by some amazing accomplishment Hunter was planning to get the law revoked. Yeah, and how long will that take? He'd better time his actions so that the law stops just after they got their friends out of the camps. Otherwise we'll all be in a world of hurt.
"I'll volunteer to go on the mission to the camp or any other mission for that matter. Anything to help out and get our friends back."
Ali looked to Hunter and then to the others from the mansion. She knew she would be of good use in whatever task she was presented. She also knew she wouldn't be alone.

Kami was amazed by the number of people here, and they were all like him. All mutants. He had listened intently to all that had happened. While he was still a little unsure of the specifics, he knew that mutants were being persecuted for no other reason than being mutants.
Whatever plan this mysterious Hunter had, he hoped that it would succeed in suppressing of this unjust law. “While I am new to this country,” he said, “I will fight to help my fellow mutants. I cannot let my brethren suffer for being what they are.”
OOC: Since it's been 5 days since Abyss' post and since Emerald doesn't appear to be posting, I'm going to post to get the thread going and keep it alive. if there's a problem please pm me.
IC: Kitra nodded, everyone had valid points. She was a little leary about Abyss and how he was talking, but he was also right. "I also volunter to help with the distracting." Eventually people would ask how she was going to do that, but she wasn't going to talk until asked. She looked over at Nicki and grinned to herself, 'She's calling Hunter on his riddles, how awesome.'
She continued to work on her sketches, Nicki was done, so was Kat, Ali, Calley and Geo. She was finishing up on Deja, all these sketches were, were basics of the person and took about two minutes or so. The outline of the person and the face were the main things she needed to get an entire sketch done. She would use the sketches of the members of Resistance for the distraction. Which reminded her that she needed to get descriptions of people in the camps as well. "Is there any possible way to get pictures or descriptions of those that are being held in the camps? It would be appricaited if anyone has information. It will be valuable on getting them out of there."
TJ was sure she had annoyed Hunter by joining the meeting, but it didn't matter to her. After just a few minutes any thought of leaving the meeting flew from her mind. The bracelets/collars were enough to keep her interested, <I wonder how they monitor and activate...what makes them react to the abilities being used?> A hologram of a large looking robot appeared in front of the group. Gearhead's eyes went wide as she leaned in a bit and a smile tickled her face. "Hehe. Pretty."
Her fingers moved on autopilot as she wrote down what everyone was saying, their concerns and opinions. Most were varied repeats of what another had said though some were quite interesting and well thought out, to which Gearhead put special note of on her laptop. Though ultimately, she didn't concern herself with what they said, at least not at the moment, "What other information do we have on the bracelets/collars and the Stalkers?" She looks pointedly at Hunter. "Are they linked into the flesh of the mutants or are they just 'skin tight'?" Depending on the answer it could be simple to remove the objects or as difficult as having to carefully sever a nerve connection. "Any idea how the bracelts 'recharge' or what powers them? The shock they deliver, small sustained bursts, escalating bursts or a few high powered shocks?"
Opening up a new window on her laptop showing a rotating image of a Stalker that she had downloaded from the computer, "These Stalkers...You said some were very stealthy correct? Cloaking themselves in a sort of 'invisibility shield' no?" Looking around at the Order members and those from the Mansion, "At Xavier's Sister School and Sanctuary, I'm assuming you had cameras for security. Are any of those recordings intact or accessable? Depending on the equipment used, it may or may not be possible to 'tweek' the image to give us a better idea of what they're using to become 'invisible'." TJ truly did not believe the Stalkers were able to become completely 'invisible', they had to leave so sort of trace, a trail of some sort. Something had to give them away. "It isn't possible to achieve that level of 'stealth' without leaving some trace or evidence."
Looking back at her laptop she stopped suddenly and looked around the room, "Who designed them? A military company? An independent sorce? If we can figure out what they're made of we can narrow down where they are being manufactured. If we can get to the person/people who designed them it could give us what we need to defeat them." Her head whent back down to her computer, fingers tap-tapping away, while she used the interface with her headset to start searching and investigating more about the Stalkers, to find anything she could. <Ooh, I'd love to get my hands on one...>

Kaz sat silently after he came into the room, listening intently to each of the speakers, letting his gaze fall onto each without wavering the slightest. Though he did not miss Vibe's body posture nor the look on her face. The loss of her sister seemed to affect her quite a bit. While others spoke, he also noted Kat slumping a bit in her chair, which he raised an eyebrow to slightly. <Why's she doing that?> It troubled Kaz to see the girl like that, as if she had personally helped to pass the law.
Kaz didn't care about keeping Calley's 'secret' intact, but now was not the time. The spineless whelp had good points, though there seemed to be something...off about him, he seemed too calm and collected.
Giving Nicki's hand a gentle squeeze, "Attacking DC would give the humans the idea that we are out of control and justify their decision in pushing the law through. Attacking the camps, and only the camps, making sure to show that we're interested in freeing those held captive without too much needless destruction," <'Needless destruction' is a relative term...> "It would show that a small band of mutants motivated as such, would be able to do much. If we succeed with the raid, it might rally more to our cause. I have no doubt they would begin to wonder what a much large group of mutants could do if they continue to oppress us. That this law is actually doing the opposite of what they want it to do." Taking a breath, "With Hunter and whoever else speaking on our behalf, saying just that, the raid could be the true lawbreaker"
Kaz sat quietly for a moment, hoping that what he wanted to say had come out correctly. "Concerning the raid it self, information is a must, planning and preparation are key. But. Considering both the Mansion and Sanctuary were attacked and defeated, we know these Stalkers are extremely powerful. While I don't doubt the combined forces in this room....Retreat, and Escape plans needed to be considered and planned out in the event we Fail." Though it was true what he said, his own thoughts and his tone clearly said 'Failure is not an option'.
Kaz stood up and walked over to Katrina, while he looked at Abyss in the eyes. If the man looked at him he would see sympathy, understanding, and agreement in his own crimson eyes. He nodded slightly to Abyss before putting a hand lightly on the Kat's shoulder, "While there are those in the camps we care for and are concerned about, we cannot focus entirely on them." He looked around at the gathered people, "What we do in the near future will have a great impact on this country, possibly the world. Abyss is right. Things must change, for the betterment of all of us."
(OOC: This thread has gone on long enough. I’m ending it with a plan to move everything forward towards the plan to capture a Stalker. This is effectively the last post in this thread, but feel free to do an exit post if you wish.)
Hunter listened to the opinions of each individual in the room. Some, such as Shogun, were purely focused on the battle. Others, like Gearhead, wanted to know about the technology that they faced. Finally, there were those like Nicki that questioned whether this was the right course of action at all.
“I understand some of you may have doubts,” Hunter began, “But this is the correct course of action. As Kaz has said, the raid on the camps will show that we are not mere anarchists, but fighting for a cause. While some will label us terrorists, others will call us freedom fighters, and with a few whispers in the right ears the tale will be one of heroes, not villains.”
“Of the new technology we face I am afraid we know very little, something that I am seeking to rectify. Thus I am proposing that the first targets for the resistance are this. Acquire a Stalker and a bracelet so that test can be studied on them to determine weaknesses in their designs.” He paused, to let what he had just suggested sink in.
“I have a plan to acquire Stalker parts, but it is by no means risk free. This plan hinges on two people, but many more will be needed to pull it off. First of all Abyss and his clones are needed,” he turned to the big red man to address him directly, “The clones have enough strength to pin a Stalker in place while you proceed to cut it up into parts with a high powered, and heavy, laser cutter.”
Turning back to the group he continued, “Once in bits the Stalker parts will be loaded into specialised transports and whisked back to the labs. It is unlikely that we will be able to catch a lone Stalker, so while Abyss and his clones go to work others will be required to cover him and keep the other Stalkers off his back.”
“Once the Stalker parts are secure a swift exit will be required, which Sapphire can facilitate,” he gestured to the eldest Lupin girls behind him for those who did not know her, “She can teleport around a dozen people in the manner by which she arrived at this meeting. With her and Abyss as the key members of this mission that leaves ten spots for others.”
“This is not a decision I expect you to make immediately. The risks are high, and the probability of you being seriously injured or killed is very real. If you wish to participate then meet in training area one tomorrow morning. As I will be away working this for another angle I will be unable to oversee the mission, or indeed any operations at Mondragon Labs. While I am gone I am appointing Kaz as my representative and commander of this facility during my absence.”
Turning to Syn he offered her a smile, “I’m sorry, but I am afraid you cannot accompany me on my infiltration mission. Your little escapade at King Pharmaceuticals has made you too well known as a mutant.” Turning back to the group he finished by saying, “You all have a lot of new information to assimilate and some difficult choices to make. Go and get some sleep. I will return and check on how things are going when I can, but this is likely the last you will see of me for a while.” Having said his part Hunter rose from his seat and left, leaving those in the room to consider their options.
Sapphire looked over at Hunter irritably when he said that Kaz would be their 'commander'. The dingo woman usually didn't listen to Hunter and it was very likely she would give Kaz the same treatment. Also, the Eldest Lupin sister didn't particularly like the fact she was teamed up with the same boy who injured Emerald extremely badly during KP.
"I don't take orders from anyone." The darkness user stated, narrowing her ice blue eyes
The now twenty three year old took out a bottle of rum from a hole in the floor, well a dark vortex in the floor and began drinking the liquor. She capped it back up when it was a quarter of the way empty and dropped it back into the dark portal, sealing it up.
"If necessary I will teleport everyone out but I got a good Idea for a distraction, why don't I just gut a few humans, spread their entrails all over central park and get the entire city on the look out for me. Unless they have a way to get into a portal of darkness I doubt they will be able to find me. By the time they are sick of looking for one of Fusionists most evil experiments everything should be ready to go." Sapphire explained, sounding a bit too eager on the gutting the humans part.
Being surrounded by friends and family should have had a calming effect on Vibe, but it didn't. In fact, having Syn on one side of her and Fade on the other merely succeeded in keying her up further. Emotion continued to build when one of the women she'd met, briefly, in the Infirmary suggested capturing a Stalker. Another girl from the Order seconded the idea. The very notion sent a shudder through the petite redhead.
An image of her sister with one of those shackles on her wrist flashed before her eyes, and a small bit of that fear turned to hatred, which in turn bolstered her determination. From various other comments, she gathered that the majority of those gathered also shared her determination, even moreso.
She felt somewhat vindicated when Abyss spoke up against taking the political route. Finally! Someone else thought words were a waste of time, too. He practically voiced everything she wanted to shout out. She wasn't all that keen on helping run a mutant-controlled country; leave that to those who care for that sort of power-chasing. But revenge was right up her alley. And if her sister didn't come out of this mess alive.....
She typed a short sentence into the keyboard while the rest finished their questions. Then she sat back in her chair, arms and legs crossed, one foot tapping irritably. Most of the rest of the conversation she dismissed, though the wiry purple-haired girl struck her as odd. She didn't look like the techie type, but she sure sounded it.
She wasn't sure how to take Kaz's comments. He seemed to be taking both sides, and in her emotion-driven opinion, that wasn't possible. To her, it seemed that things should be all or nothing; either focus on the camps, or on the law. You couldn't do both. She did agree, and whole-heartedly, that failure was not an option.
And why was Kitra still sketching?? Vibe scowled at her, for no reason really. After all, she was asking about those in the camps too, so she couldn't be that bad....
Eventually Hunter declared the meeting over, with the first course of action being to retrieve a Stalker. Then he left. Vibe clenched her fists in frustration. There was nothing she could do. Not a single, solitary thing. The building frustration bubbled and spilled over.
The floor and table began to vibrate slightly, and a soft buzzing filled the air momentarily. She got to her feet, and hit 'Enter' on the keyboard, then stalked out, shoving her way through everyone rudely.
"I'm going after the camps," a computerized voice spoke from the speakers in the room. "Humans aren't worth my time."
Katrina yawned as Mr. Antonytail swished out of the door. The meeting had ended rather abruptly, but it was probably for the best, because her body was telling her it was time for bed. It had been a long day. She still had a lot of questions about what was going to happen next, but she wasn't sure who she could ask. Hunter seemed to have all the answers, but he had already swished himself away. She made her way out through the door, weaving around the taller people, and walked back to her room.
Mandain stood up as everybody else did, "Ill see some of you in the training area soon enough" He smiled and walked away. "Touch nice ion the" "Thanks Horus" Mandain grinned and was gone.
