The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I'm invisible in the dark. Although it can get annoying when you have to get dressed in the dark."
"I can imagine.... Not to mention awkward for the girlfriend," Vibe snickered.
"So? What's the rest?" She tapped her foot, waiting for him to reveal the rest of his power. She wasn't specific how she knew. But there was more to him than invisibility for him to move so quickly, without leaving a sound trail.
Besides, invisibility wasn't all that interesting. Well, maybe his version was. Or could be, in the right situation....
"What? You aren't going to tell me anything about yourself? That isn't very fair of you."
"Fares are for tourists," Vibe used an old pun. Still fiddling with her choker, she considered just how interested she was in this stranger. He was rude and annoying, and had ruined her outfit, one that had taken quite a bit of effort to gather during her little excursion with Naveed. She was not pleased about that.
Still.... she was stuck on his eyes. She wasn't exactly sure why, but it was suddenly an obsession. She wanted to see his face.
And, usually, once Vibe got an idea stuck in her head, it tended to stay there.....
"Name's Vibe," she replied to the question. "Sound is my game. Which is how I know there's more to you than meets the eye. Or ear, as the case may be. So.... spill."
A slight smile tugged at the corners of her mouth, but she wasn't quite willing to let it out just yet.

Just then Hades entered the canteen, he was hungry after working on a truck that was about to be shipped to England, and besides he had had enough of being on his own in a lab with only a few of his “creations” to keep him company.
He chose a bowl of steaming noodles and walked over to the table where Vibe and Shade were sitting. In a deep and resonant voice he asked “Mind if I join?” then meeting no protest he sat down and began eating the noodles expertly with a pair of chopsticks. “My name is Hades by the way.”

"Ah well, nice to meet you Vibe. I'm Shade, not Shadowman, but nice guess. As for rest of my abilities, well you guess right. I'm a teleporter, it just has to be dark enough."
"Shade, huh? Meh, I guess that'll work." She reached into the cooler again, only snagging two drinks this time, then leaned against the door. "I still like Shadowman better," she added. "Sooo.... a semi-invisible shadowporter. I suppose that could be interesting. Though hardly dangerous." She coyly made herself sound only mildly interested, hoping he would be 'macho-minded' enough to continue to either show or tell more about himself.
Another imposing figure entered the Canteen to gather nutrition, in the form of noodles. He introduced himself. Vibe didn't answer at first. She'd noticed that he too was rather quiet in step, despite his size, much quieter than he should have been. And he looked familiar......
Shade gave a slight nod at the newcomer to acknowledge his presence. He couldn't help the widening of his grin at the girl's last comment.
"Oh you don't think so. Well then, what is your form of dangerous? And does it come dressed in energy drink covered skirts?" He finished with a chuckle. The unseen eyes casted another glance at the bald man before snapping back to the red head. He flashed a very sarcastic grin as he gazed at her.

At that comment Hades raised one eyebrow slightly and carried on eating, free amusement with his meal, who could complain, and besides it would do good to verify what was on Hunter’s database with the real people and gather new information to update it.

(OOC: Hades, I'm not actually ignoring you, just IC, for the moment. Feel free to interupt any time.
"Oh you don't think so. Well then, what is your form of dangerous? And does it come dressed in energy drink covered skirts?"
Vibe pouted, her attention diverted from the man at the table back to Shade.
"I'll have you know, this skirt cost quite a bit, and was not easy for a hunted mutant to get." So, that was a bit of a dramatic stretch. Vibe didn't care. "Stalkers aren't easy to run from, ya know."
Yeah, I do know." Shade said, lifting his hoodie slightly to relieve the bandages that were still in place from the long scars which traced down his side.
"What about you?" The hooded man asked, turning to the bald guy.

"Yeah, I do know."
Vibe blinked at the sight of bandages. Soooo...... Shadowman had run across the Metal Monsters as well? Her respect for him upped a notch. Just one, but still up.
"What about you? You ever tangled with one of those tin cans?"
“No I have not had the pleasure of meeting one, care to enlighten me about them?”
The petite redhead snorted. "Yeah, first thing? Meeting them is NOT a pleasure." She frowned grumpily, and rubbed her shoulder nervously. "They're too smart to be tin cans....."
"Second thing, don't estimate anything about them, because you will be wrong." Shade said at he glanced slightly at the red-head. Obvoiusly something more painful had happened when she had met the Stalkers. However, he shook it off as he turned back to Hades.
"And make sure after you tango with one, you get the heck out of there before they can really get you. They are relenctless."
(ooc: sorry for the super-long wait. I had some school work that totally comsumed my free time.)

(occ that is totally fine) “I’ll keep that in mind thanks. As far as you know have they got any weaknesses? Where are you guys from by the way?” Hades asked as he finished his bowel of noodles and settled back to enjoy a cup of green tea.
Hades had just finished speaking when there came over the loudspeaker in the canteen. "calling professor Hades, calling Professor Hades, your presence is required at the Laboratory immediately."
Hades looked apologetically at Vibe and Shade. "I'm really sorry but i must go, feel free to drop by my Lab at any time, it is in the barracks. Until then good day."

“I’ll keep that in mind thanks. As far as you know have they got any weaknesses?”
"Poor fashion sense?" Vibe primly retorted.
"Where are you guys from by the way?"
A voice over the intercom interrupted a snippy reply on the redhead's part. Professor Hades? What kind of name was that?
"I'm really sorry but i must go, feel free to drop by my Lab at any time, it is in the barracks. Until then good day."
Vibe watched him go with a frown. Why was he so interested in the Stalkers?
She shrugged, and turned back to Shade. "So, I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and guess that the bots are why you're here too?" Her frown deepened. "I can't wait to get my hands on whoever made those freaks."
A glass on a nearby table vibrated and clinked a bit, and a subtle tone rose in the air, like a ringing in the ears.
