The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(OOC: As first on the scene I’ll post Kami’s arrival. I suggest we have a posting order (the order of arrival), so only post in your turn. I know this slowed down the meeting, but with less of us it shouldn’t be a problem. To also speed things up if someone fails to post within 3 days they skip their go. Any one have a problem with my proposed rules feel free to PM me.)
IC: Kami entered the arena. This promised to be an interesting challenge. Despite the lack of powers he was quite confident, as he could put his training to use. He had trained his body to exceptional levels prior to the discovery of his powers, and so felt that he was adequately prepared for the challenge ahead.
Seeing as he was the first to arrive he calmly waited for the other, and began mentally preparing himself for what lay ahead. Their first priority was to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the team. From there they could plan their next move.

OOC: I was think more like if they dont post in 2 days...
IC: Now this was a sight to see. Jason walked through the halls still a little new to the place and was just in awe. The place was huge and beautiful in its on dark way. The thought of people getting lost or tortured down here kinda perked Jason's thoughts about this whole idea. Teammates. Not his thing at all. Peeking in doors trying to find his way kinda made him wonder if he was lost. Finally he found it. The big great door. Jason gave a push and it opened almost with ease. Know one would have ever thought a door so big would open so easily.
To Jason's eyes he wasn't the first one here. Jason's looked around taking in ever possible look. Fighting with friends wasn't by far on his agenda for today. He still wasn't sure if he was even gonna help with the raid back on the camps and if he was or anybody was what would fighting like a human teach anybody. Work as a team? Shouldn't people learn to work with others abillites. Jason turned to the guy standing in the corner. "So i guess your one of my teammates? And i use the word teammate lightly.
((OOC: Hey guys- and yep, the posting order sounds great, 2 days is fine too))
Tris walked through the huge and and maze like terrain of the area feeling less and less like she wanted to do this without her powers she relied on. The entire place felt daunting and rather too freakily silent for Tris's taste.
She had vague directions on where to meet up with her 'team', and wondering who she would get was the thought that idled through her mind as she wandered through this maze like pace.
Eventually she found the place she was supposed to meet the team, interest rising as she opened the door the tiniest bit and slipped in side quietly. Smirking as she overheard the end of an introduction of sorts:
"So i guess your one of my teammates? And i use the word teammate lightly.
"Hi." Tris called from behind the guy with an accompanying wave and an irritatingly cheerful voice. "I'm a team person too, nice you meet you."
and looking at the other guy in the room. "and you too." she acknowledged.
((OOC; Posting order and 2-day repsonse timer seem good to me as well. Can't wait to get started!))
Aidan had asked a passing Mondragon Employee for directions and had made his way down to the tunnel. He was a bit amazed at this size of the Mondragon complex and would have to explore it more fully at some point in the future if he had the time. The tunnel didn’t seem that long and the ride was very short but that was probably because Aidan was rocking out to some of his fellow DJs remixes. It was because of this inattention that Aidan was totally unprepared for the sight that met his eyes at the end of the tunnel. Before him stretched an immense cavern and in its center stood the ruins of a stone manse that reminded him of the castles and manors that dotted Ireland’s countryside. The manse was surrounded by an impressively green lawn that seemed to defy logic explanation as there was no sunlight that he could see down here. Aidan could not see the far side of the cavern so he thought that it must stretch on for miles. Past the ruined walls, he spied a labyrinth of sorts.
Referring to his letter he made his way to the Western section and stopped before the huge door. He took a moment to stretch out the kinks of stress that had been forming in his shoulders and ran a hand through his hair as he took the ear bud headphones from his ears and put them in the pockets of his jeans. The body suit he had been asked to wear felt a little weird but it didn’t hinder his movement in any way. Aidan briefly wondered who his team mates would be as he pushed upon the door and watched it open noiselessly. He stepped into the area beyond looking around and noticing three other people already there. Guessing from their positioning, Aidan assumed that the man who look as if he had come straight out of a Kung Fu movie about Monks in China had arrived first and that the black gentleman with short hair and the red haired girl had arrived second and shortly after one another.
“I guess I make four,” Aidan said as the door shut behind him. He tugged at the fingerless gloves he had found with the body suit as he looked at the three other people in turn. The girl was undeniably attractive (it didn’t hurt that Aidan had a thing for red heads) and both of the guys looked to be in about as good shape physically as Aidan was. He wondered briefly at what their powers were and then remembered that the letter said powers and weapons were prohibited. “Top o’ the evening to you all,” Aidan said as he attempted to break the ice. “Me name is Aidan Orion. Who might the rest of you be?”
IC: Kami watched each of his team mates arrive in turn. The first guy was clearly hot-headed and disliked the idea of working with others. That would be a problem, seeing as this was a team exercise, but how much of one remained to be seen. The girls comment seemed more sarcastic than serious, and the final man to arrive seemed pleasant enough.
“My name is Kami,” he said, introducing himself, “and while we are not allowed to use our powers, I have spent my entire life training in the Shaolin arts, meaning that I am at peek physical fitness and an expert hand to hand combatant.” He now waited for the others to introduce themselves.

As more people showed up Jason got more and more worried about what he has gotten himself into. Jason looked around taking in the scenery that was around him. Still amused in the beauty but more intrueged about what was hiding that was gonna be a whole lot uglier. Lost in thought Jason turned to see a woman standing behind him saying something about being a team person to. "Um where the hell did you hear me say anything about being in a team? To me im just stuck with you." He said turning towards her.
Before anything else could be said Another man walked in the room talking about he made four. All that was going through is mind now was how horrible this was gonna go. Jason new he was no team player. There were rules about using powers and if someone got hurt they would be kicked out of the training. Jasons only reason now was just for a work out. He had to do something to stay in shape. He looked around at the three other people that were in the room. The three looked in as well shape as they were going to get but was it gonna be enough. How long was he gonna be able to keep his cool till he blew up. Were just a few of the questions that had swarmed his mind.
Then Jason heard his biggest pet peeve. Someone talking about there self and how good they were. Jason reached his hands in his pockets and pulled out a pair of torn leather gloves that you could tell seen there fair share of work. "Hey how bout you show me what you can do instead of letting it roll off your tongue and fall from your bottom lip." With that Jason turned away from the group sliding the gloves on his hands making sure they were nice and snug and began walking towards the heart of the maze. "Because I'm sure the other teams have started." He said will picking up his pace down the hall.
"Um where the hell did you hear me say anything about being in a team? To me im just stuck with you."
Was the black haired males reply to her sunshine greeting.
Tris raised her eyebrow at that; “Charmed I’m sure.” She said dryly.
A forth man entered before Tris could continued this line of sarcasm, and, looking him up and down, he seemed much more pleasant- in many senses of the word.
He came in and introduced himself and asked questions- good communication skills that, helping to maybe start to find out their strengths and weaknesses and come up with a plan.
The monk looking guy obviously caught on and thought this was a good idea too, as he introduced himself as Kami, describing himself and his talents in relation to this powerless and more physical game.
The guy Tris had privately labeled ‘grumpy’ however, didn’t exactly feel like following this plan. He didn’t seem impressed despite this Kami guys lifetime of training.

It was now Tris’s turn, but since ‘grumpy’ had stormed off, she didn’t exactly know if she should continue or go after him. She looked at the other two in hesitation.
“Well I’m Tris.” She decided to introduce herself anyway, despite her ‘team member’ getting further away. “And pretty much since I got here I’ve been in training and such- running, dodging, obstacle courses, all the endurance stuff- that sort of thing, so hopefully I’ll be alright keeping up.” She paused briefly before adding. “I guess I should tell you guys though, this no powers rule is not my favorite- now don’t get me wrong, I can do some fair damage without em, but, they activate kinda instinctively….so no one startle me, and we’ll be fine.” She smiled at that, before continuing on another subject bothering her, jerking her thumb in the direction of the guy who had just stormed off. “Should we ahh….go get him or something?”

Crystal arrived at the Western Section, watching through a holocamera, after checking on the Southern side. This was the only team with four players. Kami, the energy manipulator. Tris, capable of both combustion and slowing of molecules. Aidan she didn’t know, and added to her files as well. She noted he had a similar suit to Voltaire, made to absorb electricity.
She nearly revealed herself when she recognized the fourth player. Jason Blake, the blood manipulator. She’d last seen the rather confident, and a tad arrogant, teenager in the Danger Room with Iris, Nika and Hurricane, where she had had a rather interesting verbal spar with him. Judging by the conversation, he was still not a team player. A very un-computer-programlike desire to see just how volatile he was entered her mind. She pushed it away, mostly. The point of this exercise was to promote and improve teammanship, not to cause trouble.
Still, that didn’t mean she couldn’t have a little bit of fun with the players in the meantime. And each section had at least one player that might prove to be more fun to use as ‘test subjects’ in the exercise.
Aidan smirked as he noticed the red head looking him over after he had entered. The man who could be a monk spoke up first, naming himself Kami and letting them know that he had trained his entire life training in the Shaolin Arts. This tidbit of information intrigued Aidan, but instead of focus on it he filed it away for later.
"Hey how bout you show me what you can do instead of letting it roll off your tongue and fall from your bottom lip. Because I'm sure the other teams have started.”
The evident dislike of others made Aidan not like his for now nameless teammate but he could deal. Aidan had met his fair share of people just like him working at the club. After no-name walked off, Tris introduced herself to the group. She also mentioned that she wasn’t fond of the the no powers rule and that her powers activated more instinctively than on command. The wicked thought of waiting till Tris turned around and then scaring her to see what she would do crossed Aidan’s mind but for once his conscious actually worked and he realized that scaring her into using her powers would like just cause trouble for their team. ‘Well at least two of my teammates seem willing to work as a team,’ Aidan thought to himself as he turned to face the way no-name had gone. As if reading his mind, Tris spoke up before he could.
“Should we ahh….go get him or something?”
“That sounds like an excellent idea. And he is right about one thing, the other teams have probably gotten under way already,” Aidan said as he stretched his arms back over his head and twisted, popping his back in the process. Aidan was about to plug his headphones back into his ears when he remembered he had a team to work with and just wrapped them around his ipod and stuck it in his pocket. “Shall we get started then?” he asked, looking from Kami to Tris and then to Jason, who seemed to be moving a pretty decent clip down the passage way.

Kami was less impressed with Gore than he had been, which was saying something. After listening to Tris and Aidan he nodded saying, “Let us begin.” Turning he set off at a fast pace down the corridor and soon caught up with Gore.
“Whether you like it or not this is a team exercise,” he informed the man, “If you aren’t willing to work with others then why did you bother coming?” He did wonder what had possessed someone so obviously against working with others to participate in this challenge.

Stopping in his movement Jason turned and looked back at this man named Kami, who he could have cared less if he never knew his name. "Being part of a team don't mean I have to like you." He said looking at the three people that he was teaming up with. "I don't need to know each of your names. I don't have to know what any of your abilities are. All i need to know as that your still alive. Cause once one of you are knocked out of this thing I wont have to worry about you anymore." Then he stopped and took a deep breath looking at the three mutants that he was matched with. He then turned his head in the direction of Kami as he was questioned why Jason was even here. "Tell me what in the hell does why im here got anything to do with us finishing this. If im here then i already know this was a team mate thing. I aint happy about it but ill deal with it." He said as he turned his attention back towards the curvy young lady across from him. "Know if you try and question me again about something then one of us is gonna get kicked out for using our abilities against the other. And trust me I got know problem going to get a work out at the gym."
Jason turned and began to walk through the maze. The maze reminded him of the gutters under the streets. The smell wasn't the same but it wasn't to far off. But it was still beautiful. Jason turned to his group again walking backwards "Now like i said before can we get this moving cause im would like to finish this soon before BEN10 comes on or do any of have anything else to say that i really care not to hear? or shall we just go?"
((ooc; just wanted to let my teammates know that I am having a bit of a computer crisis atm but it should be resolved by tuesday evening. I don't anticipate it cause any major lapse in my posting abilities))
Aidan and Kami both seemed to agree that finding their reluctant team-mate was the best thing to do. As a group- at least they were untied in one thing, to find the forth, they went out in search of ‘grumpy.’
It was a long corridor and ‘grumpy’ storming off hadn’t taking him that far yet, and Kami set a fast pace that let them catch him. Tris stood by as Kami ripped into ‘grumpy dude’, trying to keep the smirk on her face hidden from anyone as the monk guy was making the point Tris had sooo wanted to yell at ‘grumpy’ about- it wouldn’t have been an eloquent, but still would have got the point across, and yet now she didn’t have to waste her effort.
I aint happy about it but ill deal with it."
Apparently however, ‘grumpy’ didn’t let the logical argument effect his judgment, his stubborn, impassioned and arrogant rant making Tris’s temper rise and her hand itch to blast some sense, or fear, into him, somewhere real close- scare him just alittle. She tried deep breaths to remain clam, rolling her eyes instead, willing herself to do nothing.
he turned his attention back towards the curvy young lady across from him. "Know if you try and question me again about something then one of us is gonna get kicked out for using our abilities against the other. And trust me I got know problem going to get a work out at the gym."
The plan was to stay relaxed, calm…..that was until his attention diverted to her, and what he said made her nails dig into her palms in painful annoyance- he was probably addressing them all, but he was looking at her, and truly, she was sick of his crap, and she wasn’t going to have veiled and vague threats thrown at her by him.
Tris stepped up to him and into his personal space, her brown eyes flashing her dislike inches from his own, bristling with thinly concealed frustration and annoyance- a great party mix that one.
“And know that if you ever try and intimidate me again there will be serve consequences you will not enjoy.” When she spoke in this way it seemed every word was a promise. Her voice pleasant enough, yet barely concealing undertones of threatening malice and spite. “Cause hunny, I wouldn’t wanna get me riled up or you’re gonna be dust in the wind, and that’s a fact.”
She stepped back and smiled brightly like nothing had just transpired between them, looking at the others she said in a sunshiny voice; “So now we’re all in hearing range, did we wanna make a plan, or just wing it?”
But 'grumpy' was walking away again, calling for them to get on with it. Tris sighed heavily, using the calming image of freezing him for all eternity to shut him up to not let the tension build up.....no powers was a stupid rule, but she'd try. "Guess we wing it then." she muttered to herself.
Aidan watched Kami try to reason with noname with no success. All Aidan could do was smirk. He had met several people like noname but never had to work with one and as such noted that this could be very interesting. Things got even more interesting as noname seemed to accuse Tris of thinking of questioning him. Aidan could sense the thinly veiled anger and annoyance coming from Tris as she bowed right up to noname, something most chicks wouldn’t have even thought of doing. ‘Note to self, never piss Tris off. Well unless you want to have to fight a girl,’ he thought to himself as his smirk grew into more of grin.
“So now we’re all in hearing range, did we wanna make a plan, or just wing it?” Tris asked of the group. However, noname had already begun walking away again and was calling out for the rest of them to catch up because he would like to finish before Ben 10 came on. Aidan guessed that Ben 10 was some kind of cartoon and snickered aloud at the comment, wondering why someone who looked to be almost 20 was still watching kid’s cartoons. Aidan didn’t give too much thought to it though, some people were just strange.
“I don’t know, winging it has always been my style,” Aidan answered as Tris sighed. “You handled yourself nicely with noname there. Remind me to stay on your good side next time I contemplate making you mad, OK?” He took a step forward and then turned halfway around and waited for Tris to start walking with him. “So, even if we can’t use ‘em, maybe we should get powers out of the way. It might tell us a little more about each other and give us an idea of how to get through this. I’ll go first; me body absorbs electricity at all times and then I can release it as either an arc of electricity or use it to augment my natural speed. Lucky for me I discharged a lot this morning so I shouldn’t have any problems during this exercise. Course they did make me wear this body suit to stop it if I do so we are safe either way. Who wants to share next?”
