The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was a large windowless room, the gloom of which would have hidden the room in shadows to any normal person, yet Nox walked confidently inside, ignoring the light switch completely. Manipulating visible light in semi-darkness was second nature to her now, and as she stared around the room she chanelled the light around anything that caught her interests. There were various dummies stacked in the corner, while a impressive weapon rack lined the entire of the opposite wall. The hall was medium sized, perfect for a small group training session, and clearly was built for its single purpose of training.
She flexed her fingers, and felt the eagerness inside her, it had been far too long since she had last had a chance to train. She was ready, and the session was looking far more promising now this warrior had turned up. Indeed there would probably be an interesting fight at some point, she mused, since he seemed like he would be a challenging opponent. Well then, lets get going. She turned to the warrior “I presume you too were intending on practicing?” she inquired.

Shogun followed her into the room. He couldn't even tell that the light wasn't on; much less care. "Just give me a moment to change." Shogun took his armour into a changing room, and within ten minutes he was out again. He could change into his old armour in under five minutes; the new armour took some getting used to. But he did look impressive. All that could be seen of him was the gold metal, the mask eyeless, so he almost looked like a moving statue. He decided against telling the girl about his armour's 'special effects', but just turned the field on instead. It would be much more interesting this way.
"Care for a spar, or perhaps another form of training?" If she knew how to fight, then a spar could be useful. Otherwise, he'd be happen for solo training. Perhaps even a competition of some sort.
The warrior disappeared inside one of the two doors she had first dismissed, changing rooms - useful. She decided to follow suit and quickly went into the other room, luckily there was neat stack of spare clothing, since she had neglected to bring anything. Within mere minutes, having changed into a black vets top and jogging bottoms she re-emerged into deserted room. She had kept her belt on, because from it hung two pouches positioned so they would hang at her sides. Each pouch fastened in place four small throwing daggers of the highest quality. Which, though ineffective for close combat, were designed to silently fly through the air and embedded themselves in someone’s neck, ensuring death would quickly follow. Her right handed was clasped around her Kris, its wavy blade reflected the dim light. Seeing that he would be awhile yet, she went over inspect the weapons. While feeling the weight of a particularly fine sword she murmured to herself in disbelief, "And these are just for general use?". Her attention was then caught by another Kris, which though not quite as fine as her own, was still expertly crafted. A new reasoning instantly formed in her mind - if he gets a sword, she got two - it was only fair after all.
She heard the door open from behind her and turned. She was thankful for dimness of the room, for without it his rather ostentatious armour would be throwing reflections all over the room. Even she, however, had to admit he looked impressive, like a warrior of old, for his armour would have surpassed even those of emperor’s. She walked over to face him, a Kris in each hand. She loosened her grip and circled the blades, testing the weight of this new one against hers, before tightening her grip once more. She turned slightly, in order that she was side on, bending her knees slightly as she did do, so that her weight was spread. She brought her arms up, so that her left Kris was ready to block while her right was in front in order to attack. Having taken up her stance as an answer to his call, she focused on the opponent before her. Any thoughts were expired, her concentration was solely upon the masked warrior; she had been defending herself since the age of 9 and knew full well what she was doing. The question was – how well did he?

She had a second weapon, whether she had brought it in with her or got it from the many racks around the walls, it was a smart move. In answer to his challenge, she had dropped into a fighting posture, so he drew his sword. It appeared to just be a long scabbard, but he subtly pressed a button at one end and one of the blades slid soundlessly out. He neglected using the other for now, he wanted to see how good she was first.
He was a little unused to using only one weapon, but he would need to practise with it anyway. He turned sideways on, holding the blade so that it was at forty degrees, with one hand at the top of the hilt and his left fairly near the bottem. Not waiting for her to attack, he swung the blade around so that it was bearing down on her with a fair amount of force. The fact that it was so light meant that he could move it very quickly, but it didn't have the force behind it that he was used to. Regardless, the added speed would work well with his style of fighting.
She registered his weapon as such - she was too focused to note the strange contraption itself, she simply accepted it; questions could come later. Her mind also registered some other basic facts: he had armour, she didn't; she had two weapons, he didn't. She intended to utilize any possible advantage and therefore concluded swiftly with two weapons to his one, and with less weight, no matter how fine his armour was, she should be able to use space, and speed to her advantage. With this in mind she began.
He made an obvious swing, bringing his blade directly down at her, she, however brought her back foot forward and so stepped clear away from the swing. Keeping her left blade ready to defend his next blow, she had while stepping brought her right Kris across her body in line with his neck. In order for him to block that he would open up the space in front of him, allowing her left Kris an opening.

Shogun saw her step to the side, and as he swung up his blade to stop her attack, he also saw that it left him wide open for an attack. He pressed the switch at the other end of the hilt, and the second blade slid out the end. He now had a very light, tweleve foot long, impossibly sharp weapon. As he had swung it up to block, he kept it at an angle so that the second blade could be used to block any attacks from her other knife. If she didn't attack straight away, he would keep the upper blade where it was and swing the lower blade toward her, hopfully hitting her leg or her side. He would stop the blade short if she didn't block it though; he doubted Antonescu would look favourably upon the death or serious maiming of one of his warriors.
He had blocked her attack as she had expected, but then he did something that completely caught her by surprise – his sword sprouted an another blade. Though shocked she didn’t pause, for that would have been given him upper hand. Okay, so, I’m now up against a twelve foot long weapon with blades at each end armed with only two Kris, Excellent. She watched both blades carefully, knowing if she was foolish to take her attention off one for even a second it would then strike. She needed to try a different tactic, and so she tried something that wasn’t among her normal repertoire, it was a gamble but she knew she couldn’t guard against his double bladed weapon forever. Swiftly, she brought both blades up in front of her, so they crossed over at the base of their blades. She had executed the move so that his weapon was now lodged in the base of the V-shape of her blades. She had insured to angle her blades, so that when applying strength, like they were now, he wouldn’t be able to angle his weapon out to nip her ankles. She then began to push her blades forward, ensuring she kept the applied pressure, as the centimetres between the slight gap where his mask and armour met and the point of her blades were slowly dwindling.

She did something he altogether didn't expect, until the second before she did it. She had now locked her blades against his, and was pushing it back towards his mask. Unperturbed, he gave the hilt a slight twist, and it seperated in the middle. He now had two, six foot swords, one of which was keeping both her knives busy. He flipped the other one up so that it was pointing upwards, and aimed to swiftly press it against her throat. If she moved her blades from the one they were locked on, then he'd use that one to swing around and press against the side of her head. If either happened, then unless she had reflexes like Antonescu or himself, she would be helpless. He'd be impressed if she found a way past it.
Nox was beginning to think this fight was becoming the slightest bit unfair – Two six foot blades! The major problem was that, as he was now so kindly demonstrating, he could occupy both her blades with just one of his. He then utilised his free blade, flipping it up and aiming it at her throat. She knew her reactions weren’t fast enough to fight off both blades simultaneously. If I can just keep the pressure on this one blade for a moment, then I might be able to block his attack, but then what? She preferred to keep her fighting ‘clean’, but under the circumstances she reasoned she would need everything she had to even stand a chance. She moved one blade up to block his attack, keeping the other one horizontal against his other blade, so to prevent it from attacking. At that angle, however, it wouldn’t be able to block his attack for long. Which is why, as she was positioning her blades to met his, she kicked him full in the chest with her left foot. Due to distance between them, it was powerful and struck him full on his chest. The armour would protect him from being winded, but it would also weigh him down, and so help to send him backwards, either giving her an advantage to push or at least some time to come up with new tactic.

She blocked his blade, and then aimed a kick at his chest. Fortunately, kicks are slow, especially for him, so he was able to twist to the left. It still glanced him, and spun him as he went backwards. This left him with his back to her, so he swiflt reversed his right hand blade so that it was pointing down and jabbed backward with it. He didn't expect it to hit anything, just to keep some distance between the two of them. At the same time, he kept his momentum going, and swung the other blade upwards, so that as he completed the circle it was swinging back down again. The whole movement took only a few seconds, thanks to the lightness of his armour and swords.
His backwards sent blade found only air, and as he spun she quickly reasoned one thing, namely she had to get in close. He had a much longer reach with his weapons, and therefore, she would be forced to defend without a chance of getting close enough to attack. If however, she managed to close the gap her smaller weapons would give her the advantage. A plan was starting to form in the depths of her mind. One of those that either would work flawlessly or would fail, giving him the win. But then if I play it safe I’ll never get anywhere. All of this occurred to her in the time it took him to spin, so that when he began lowering his blade she had circled her blade so that it now came up from the side and pushed his blade out to the side, missing her completely. With his other blade still recovering from his early back stab, there was an opening straight in front of him, which, with her other blade raised, she steeped into so that her right shoulder was a little more than an inch away from his left. As soon as she began the step her blade twisted so that its point now faced the side of his neck. Either she got this one shot, or she knew his other blade would swipe back and her whole left side and back was unprotected. She jabbed the Kris at his neck and…

She was quick. And smart enough to know to close the distance between them so as to use her knives to the best possible advantage. As she jabbed for his neck, he comtenplated just letting it hit to field, but decided that that would be cheating, and would thus count as loosing. At least to him. He'd only let her find out about the field if he absolutly had to. So he did something that she wouldn't expect; he ducked. But he didn't just lower himself, he swung his head forward, hoping to whack her with his helmet. If it hit, it would likely stun her more than enough for him to get both his blades against her neck. It wasn't exactly an honourable move, but he was only using his armour to his advantage.
She saw the lurch of his head as it came crashing towards her, for a normal person Nox’s reaction were fact, very fast, but you would have to have reflexes much faster than any human’s to avoid that. So his helmet struck the side of her head, sending tendrils of pain across her skull from its impact. Damn. Due to the unanticipated attack completely sending her off balance, she was sent backwards, and landed flat on her back a few feet away.

(OOC: Let me know if you think I'm godmodding a little too much, i just wanted to avoid writing a post that's only two sentences long)
As his head came forward, he could see that she couldn't avoid it, and he fell forward with her, hoping to finish kneeling over her with a sword at her neck. He couldn't see any way for her to avoid it, and unless she was holding back to the same degree as Antonescu, she shouldn't be able to dodge it. "Give up. I win."
She hadn't expected him to fall with her, in fact she had been hoping for enough time to create some space, but then 'the best laid plans of mice and men often do go wrong'. It was crushing how true it was. So, as the oh so familiar black dots floated across her vision, and tendrils of pain crept across her skull from where his helmet had impacted, she had the added bonus of feeling the tip of his blade against her throat. She had no other choice, all her option were run dry: "Yield". He was good, very good in fact, and it had been a worthy fight. She stood up, resulting in a blossoming of little swarms of the black dots. I'm goanna have one hell of a headache later. "Up for another round? Give me a chance to earn my pride back?". She knew it would be another hard contest, but maybe with the right weapon the scales might just tip in the other direction this time.
