The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Well, since this is a dark and creepifying maze, probably lots more fun trigger traps like we just experienced."
Kitra blinked, "And that's supposed to make me feel better." She saw Tris get up and come over to her. What she didn't expect was for Tris to slap her on the back in such a freindly manner. "But then again, you can conjure stuff into being and I can blast and freeze it.......come on, we're hot chicks with supers powers.....we can so kick this mazes arse."
Kitra giggled, "Let's do it!" She got up and felt a severly cold chill run down the entire length of her body. She looked up, alarmed, and spotted Calley up on one of the platforms....it looked like he had a paintball gun....and it was aimed at her...."Crap....." Kitra dived....and got struck on her arse, by a rubber bullet...She yelped and leaped upwards, rubbing her behind.....only to get pelted on her left shoulder....then her right shoulder....
Kitra grabbed Tris, "We gotta move girl!" While still being pelted....she let go of Tris' arm, she had only grabbed it to get her attention, and started moving....fast. She turned left, all there seemed to be was a long corridor, with various twists and pathways to the left and the right.
She dashed down the corridor and skidded into a pathway on the left. About three paces down, her legs slowed considerably...."Wha!!!" Looking down she saw that her feet had sunk down slightly in the floor......looking up utterly confused, she shook her head and tugged on one of her legs and got it free then the other leg....she ran again.....she felt the floor depress slightly......
Kitra swallowed, "Dang it!!" Ropes flew out of the walls and wrapped themselves around her....cursing herself, she tried to dodge them as well as get free of the ones that were currently wrapped around her.....not working...at all.
Her mind went through her sketchbook like a fastforwarding slideshow....and stopped to a dead halt on one of her favorite daggers....she grinned and then concentrated on bringing it into being....which was hard, as those ropes were getting uncomfortably tight....really tight...more beads of sweat appeared on her face...finally a black hilted dagger with golden lace like patterns along its surface appeared. Kitra grinned and the dagger began cutting through the ropes....as her dagger cut through some of the ropes more appeared....and the process of cutting through them continued...she finally was able to move and ran a few paces before more ropes shot out of the walls....this time they stayed connected to them....she was able to get two paces more before she was snagged in all the ropes...it looked like she was caught in a net.....she had sworn that she had felt the floor depress again.......
As she was tangled in the ropes she couldn't feel the floor beneath her anymore....she frowned.....she got the eeire feeling that she was suspended in the air....with absulotely nothing underneath her.......she looked down and gulped, there was no longer a floor underneath her.....just a bottomless pit.....her dagger stopped sawing away and disappeared......
"Uh, Tris..." She called out in a plea of help....."Some help please!"
Tris wasn't exactly the most subtle person in the world, so if she hadn't been in a tense, trigger happy maze waiting for some flying knife or other to slab her in the back....or side...or head mood....she might well have missed it.....a rush of wind under pressure, a tingling feeling all up and down her spine......she did the only thing she could and sent herself flying forward, flat on the ground.......she wasn't hit....yet...only alittle bruised and covered in dirt. Tris didn't even look to see where the projectile went, she was more interested where it came from......
Tris looked up at the gantries......the only ones occupied right now was the one Hunter and two others were on.....Tris squinted to see her suspicions realized, one she didn't know and.......Zephyr was up there, and she bet anything he'd just thrown that ball thing at her.......damn that made her pissed.
Apparently Kit had suffered a similar pelting fate though.
Tris though "Crap" summed things up rather nicely and agreed with Kit's assessment that they had to go- fast, and she did run with Kit awhile before Kit's loosed her hold on her arm......and then stopped, letting Kit run on ahead alittle.
Tris looked back up at the walkway with a considering air.......she was supposed to stop the projectiles right? and she always had been better at offensive than defensive stuff. The walkway was to high up and far away for her to do any real damage.....she as she grinned and aimed her power there anyway......she sure could rock their world just alittle **OOC: thanks Geo**. She sent her explosive power flying at the gantry......it was just a friendly warning.....
She ran after Kit who had got in alittle trouble it seemed.
"Uh, Tris..." She called out in a plea of help....."Some help please!"
"Sorry Kit....I'm a comming." Tris said as she ran.....aparently Kit had already set off all the traps in this section as she didn't have as much trouble. She saw Kit and frowned, thinking, okay I'm freaked, really freaked now.....which was good, cause it alloed her easier access to her freezing power. She aimed her hands and mind just at the ropes.......hoping to have them become less graby to Kit could cut herself free and swing across.
Momentarily distracted from his menial task as motivational supervisor Zephyr twisted his neck to seek out the source of the inane acclamation. When he spotted Calley practically jumping for joy over the acquisition of what appeared to be a modified machinegun it would be fair to say the merc was somewhat taken aback by the unexpected behavior and this was clearly reflected by the expression of utter bewilderment which danced across the elementals face for a full three seconds before it was replaced with his normal impassive mask.
‘…the hell?'
The silent thought was layered not only with Simon’s newfound confusion but also a mild level of annoyance. The merc had originally classified Calley as a mature, selfish and somewhat bitter individual something like himself. In essence he had thought the boy to be predictable; Zephyr liked predictable people, they were so much easier to deal with and manipulate if need be. However it now seemed that his initial classification was no longer appropriate and it irked the elemental that he would have to repeat his analysis for although he was not one of the most social individuals on the planet Zephyr prided himself on his ability to judge the personalities of others. One of the reasons he had become successful in Europe was due to his ability to analyze the behavior of others and determine their true intentions.
Moving back to the matters at hand though, precisely how was he to categorize the bundle of chaos in front of him? The boy seemed to have performed a complete personality flip acting like a sugar high ten year old instead of the disciplined adult he had been portraying mere seconds ago. ‘Perhaps he is skilled at dissimilating.’ The thought was not a pleasant one for the merc did not like the idea of being unable to read someone, especially if that person would be one of his peers.
"Please forgive my lack of response to your quips, Zeph. May I call you Zeph?"
Simon gave Calley a dry look and reconsidered his latest assumption of the kids abilities; “Exactly what kind of medication are you taking at the moment?” He asked with his usual monotone as he leaned on the railing of the walkway and directed his gaze back to the two female Kabal members, clearly dismissing the changelings question as something that wasn’t worth his time. The elemental doubted that his current companion had any such prescription but the question served as a suitable retort to Calley’s blatant attempt to irritate him.
Focusing his attention upon Kitra and Tris once again Zephyr observed the two’s progress with a small amount of amusement. It seemed as though Calley was surprisingly adept with his newly acquired weapon for Kitra had dashed off headlong into the labyrinth in hopes of avoiding further assault. Unfortunately the girl was so caught up in her attempt to escape that she completely neglected her surroundings and therefore became the focus of every individual trap for that particular section of the maze.
Tris by comparison was doing little better, while the merc would grudgingly give the woman credit for sensing the projectile her method of evasion was almost laughable. When the redhead at last picked herself off the ground and glanced upwards though the enraged expression on her face caused Zephyr lips to tug upwards ever so slightly and he couldn’t help but give the petit thief a condescending wave, it was only polite after all.
However Ms. Evans seemed to take offence for some reason for in the following few seconds the elemental was able to detect the rapid rise in heat which signified the use of the girls combustion ability. This was not entirely unexpected though as during the his last encounter with thief he had determined that anger was the primary emotion fuelling Trista’s volatile gift so when the inevitable explosion took place an invisible gale swiftly propelled the blast away from the raised platform, causing the walkway to do more than rattle briefly. The action did however dislodge several of the plastic spheres from the neatly accumulated pile Hunter had pointed out moments before and caused them to plummet to the labyrinth below. Before the orbs reached there final destination though froze in mid air as the elemental tapped into his gift and exercised his influence over the air. The trio of sphere’s hovered for just a moment before racing off through the confusing mass of hallways in search of a certain redhead thief.
"Thank you thank you thank you......" Tris came skidding around the corner and frowned.....the ropes stopped moving......"Try that Kit.".......She could move a bit and she concentrated again and the dagger that had just disappeared, reappeared and cut through some of the ropes....finally she was able to get enough of the ropes off and managed to swing to the other side.
She looked across at Tris and looked up at the top of the maze walls....Her eyes closed and Kitra breathed in deeply and concentrated on those wings again....after a minute they finally appeared and she flow upwards slowly........aaand crashed into an invisible barrier at the top......"Gah!!!!"....she fell....barely catching herself before she hit the ground. Landing gently she looked at the mass of ropes and grinned as an idea formed.....She pulled her purple whip form her leg and snapped it soo it curled around a few ropes....she dragged them towards and knotted them together and throw one end to Tris, "Tris, tie this to a rope thats still anchored and climb across" Kitra hoped this would work....
Tris watched Kit's form avidly as she untangled herself and slowly swung to the other side, silencing urging the girl to make it to safely. ......and she did. Tris breathed a sigh of relief.
....and watched and cringed as Kit unsuccessfully tried to fly above the maze walls, meeting an invisible force- they were obviously only allowed out the exit once they'd got in.
Tris grinned at Kit's second idea, wrangling her some of the twistie ropes to use as a life line to the other side.....; "Thanks for the rope." she said appreciatively as she quickly worked to do what Kit said- tying the rope first to her and then to an already anchored rope.
......and then it was her turn to cross the scary, deep looking gap in the floor across a tangle of ropes that didn't look that sturdy......man she didn't like heights.....well heights themselves were okay, it was the falling and hitting the ground Tris didn't love.
She climbed out on the rope vined walls, stepping carefully and slowly.....inching her way across. Talking to Kit as she did to take her mind off things; "So Kit.....while I'm just hanging around.....thinking we should make a game plan here......we're running about like headless chickens just reacting to stuff.....separately- which isn't good since we work better together.......dont suppose you could work that shield thing again like you did back with the balls? Thinking that way we could stick together and I can blow up any likely looking traps, but we'd still be protected....What do you think?"
She was addressing Kit, but not looking at her, as all her body's attention was focused on climbing across the rope jungle.

Calley
Calley was quite happy, up on that walkway, for several distinct reasons.
1) He’d gotten some emotion to cross Zeph’s face.
2) He’d ruined whatever stoic-boy camaraderie Slate and the merc had been starting, as proven by that medication jibe. Thank you, Calley. Don’t mention it!
3) He’d gotten a butt-shot in on Kitra.
4) Zeph had countered whatever attack the girl with Kitra had launched, so Calley could keep shooting in peace.
5) Kitra and the other girl were moving slowly, so he could aim quite easily.
6) The rubber-ball machine gun had proved surprisingly easy to reload.
Yes, Calley was quite happy, for several reasons. Some of them more so than others. He slung his machine gun back up—happily, mind you—and took methodical aim before depressing the trigger. He wouldn’t want to hit that other girl, after all.
After he’d emptied his second clip, he cheerfully waved down at Kitra.
Kitra watched as Tris climbed on to the ropes with the utmost precision, then started speaking to her as she inched her way across.....
"So Kit.....while I'm just hanging around.....thinking we should make a game plan here......we're running about like headless chickens just reacting to stuff.....separately- which isn't good since we work better together.......dont suppose you could work that shield thing again like you did back with the balls? Thinking that way we could stick together and I can blow up any likely looking traps, but we'd still be protected....What do you think?"
"Well, I think sticking together is a great plan, and the shield thing isn't a problem...." Kitra was cut short by a series of those dratted rubber pellets hitting her in various places...."Gah!!" She rubbed a few spots...as well as her behind.......Again....then her eyes widedned as she spotted the same plastic balls from the beginning racing towards Tris.... Kitra darted forward and pulled Tris the last foot off of the net of ropes....and ended falling on her behind and Tris right on top of her, also managing to dodge the balls....for the time being anyway..... "Umph, Um Tris...are you okay?"
Laying flat on her back she looked up....only to see Calley looking down at her with a pellet like gun slung over his shoulder....a huge grin on his face and the fact that he was waving to her....She shook her head....'She wasn't going to get up until she knew Tris was okay...
"Well, I think sticking together is a great plan, and the shield thing isn't a problem...." Kitra was cut short by a series of those dratted rubber pellets hitting her in various places...."Gah!!" She rubbed a few spots...as well as her behind.......Again....
Tris was slowly but surely making her careful way across the rope vined wall as Kit was talking, she almost got to the other side, slightly distracted as rubber ball were being pelted at Kit again......Tris was worried about being so exposed out here on the wall with both her hands occupied, as she couldn't help herself or Kit till she had them free, and since Kit was getting pelted, was a good bet Zephyr was just waiting for the perfect opportunity to get her too......she inched faster now.....wanting to get that little bit further to the other side.
then her eyes widened as she spotted the same plastic balls from the beginning racing towards Tris.... Kitra darted forward and pulled Tris the last foot off of the net of ropes....and ended falling on her behind and Tris right on top of her, also managing to dodge the balls....for the time being anyway..... "Umph, Um Tris...are you okay?"
Tris was almost there......when she was roughly grabbed by Kit; "Kit! What are you...?" was all the speech she had time for as she felt that familiar rushing wind whizzing within a hairs breath of her and was yanked roughly onto the solid ground, her forward momentum continuing so she was unable to keep from barreling into Kit and taking her down as well. ......She landed...hard.....but she landed on Kit so the worst that happened to her was a slightly winded feeling and afew bruised body parts- she felt worse for the girl she'd just landed on top of. At Kit question she stared at the other girl incredulously; "Am I okay!" she repeated Kit's words, her sarcastic tone implying- what about you? Tris craned her neck around, watching some floating orbs flying off in the distant........getting ready to make another pass, she had no doubt....she glared at them, promising to get them next time. She knew Zephyr was just toying with her- making wide passes for him was child's play.....and he was too mature for that......they'd come again and she better be ready.
Laying flat on her back she looked up....only to see Calley looking down at her with a pellet like gun slung over his shoulder....a huge grin on his face and the fact that he was waving to her....She shook her head....'She wasn't going to get up until she knew Tris was okay...
Kit hadn't said anything so Tris clarified; "Yeah, I'm okay........more worried about you there girl, a big lump crashing down on you and all." she winked. "And nice save by the way." she praised- meaning thank you, I am so grateful......but not saying as much in so many words.
She rolled off Kit and onto the floor beside her, flat on her back, looking up at the platform Kit was looking at- staring at Hunter, the other boy......and her own personal menace.
She pointed at the brown haired elemental; "See him......that's Zephyr." she said as if this explained everything, thought she did go on with; "As you can see- the speed, velocity, and specific targeting of those projectiles suggest he's not terribly fond of me."
She groaned alittle as she got slowly up and dusted herself off......her muscles would be yelling at her tomorrow. She reached down to help Kit up; "Come on." she said as she held out her hand; "We better get going afore they have more time to reload."
Tris dusted her eyes off and eyed the maze again; "Come on, thats put this plan into action."
Kitra had lain quiet....not bothering to answer Tris. It was kind of obvious that she was sort of ok.....not really....Kitra waved a hand lazely indicating that she was alright....
"Yeah, I'm okay........more worried about you there girl, a big lump crashing down on you and all." Tris winked. "And nice save by the way."
Kitra giggled, "It's okay Tris. I'm just glad your alright....Those would have hurt." Tris had pointed to the other guy on the platform near Hunter and Calley. "See him......that's Zephyr. As you can see- the speed, velocity, and specific targeting of those projectiles suggest he's not terribly fond of me."
Tris groaned alittle as she got slowly up and dusted herself off......her muscles would be yelling at her tomorrow. She reached down to help Kit up; "Come on." she said as she held out her hand; "We better get going afore they have more time to reload."
Kitra took the offered hand and was pulled up, "Thanks."
Tris dusted her eyes off and eyed the maze again; "Come on, thats put this plan into action."
She eyed the maze as well then looked back at the ropes....she walked over to them and pulled on a loose one and tied one end around her waist. Walking back over to Tris she tied the other end to Tris' waist and stepped back....there was a decent length of rope between them. "This way we have to stick together and we shouldn't get seperated.".....she started waking and soon rounded a corner with Tris right behind....and she started running again as she saw those plastic balls coming right at the them....she swerved and yelled, "DUCK!" She kept running when she felt the floor slightly depress and jumping hurdles appeared.....three of them....she cleared te first two with no problem but the third one was moving back and forth.....she took a few steps back and ran forward and jumped high tucking her legs underneath her and cleared the hurdle.
She put her feet down and landed with a 'thuwmp'....started to run forward only to be stopped dead by a large monster in front of her.....behind that monster there was a door....and it seemed to say exit......
She eyed the maze as well then looked back at the ropes....she walked over to them and pulled on a loose one and tied one end around her waist. Walking back over to Tris she tied the other end to Tris' waist and stepped back....there was a decent length of rope between them. "This way we have to stick together and we shouldn't get seperated."
"I feel very connected to you somehow." Tris said with a deadpan expression as Kit started walking, and Tris followed....was either that or be pulled, but Kit was right, this way they'd be less likely to be parted.
.....she started waking and soon rounded a corner with Tris right behind....and she started running again as she saw those plastic balls coming right at the them....she swerved and yelled, "DUCK!"
.....Kit started running, but Tris was sick of running from some stupid plastic balls, even if they were controlled by an air elemental.......she stood there.....letting their lifeline pay out alittle as Kit run on. Tris aimed her hands at the fast moving balls.....and fired her power at them......and the orbed swarm disappeared with a bang and puff of disintegrated molecules......the roped yanked Tris onwards after Kit, and she followed with a slightly smug and satisfied expression to her features.
She kept running when she felt the floor slightly depress and jumping hurdles appeared.....three of them....she cleared te first two with no problem but the third one was moving back and forth.....she took a few steps back and ran forward and jumped high tucking her legs underneath her and cleared the hurdle. She put her feet down and landed with a 'thuwmp'....started to run forward only to be stopped dead by a large monster in front of her
Tris, jogging after Kit, saw the hurdles appear and rolled her eyes at them. Kit got into it, she jumped them like a pro athlete.....but Tris had never been that into sports at school.....so she raised her hands again and blew the raised obstacles right out of her path, walking with a slight swagger to catch up to Kit; "Sorry, couldn't help myself." she grinned.......before she saw the monster type thing. Tris was over being surprised at this wacky damn course by now.......but she was also through playing fair and by the rules and running and reacting with panic and fear like some little lab mouse instead of using her power like she knew she could.
.....behind that monster there was a door....and it seemed to say exit......
Tris didn't rail at the existence of a stupid monster in their path anymore, she simply looked at the thing that was between her and Kit and the exit with a bland expression, raised her hands and threw her power at it.....damaging it heavily.......and then again and again.......till it exploded in a confused swarm of small metallic parts that went 'ping' as they hit the ground. - well if Hunter hadn't of wanted it blown up. he wouldn't have put it up against her, was Tris's reasoning.
"Huh...." Tris said, in a well what do ya know kinda tone, as she stepped delicately over crunching bits of stuff to the exit door.
.....Tris approached the seemingly friendly green exit signed door warily...highly aware of the multitude of traps the maze had already put them through.........
....and her suspicions were again proved correct as she must have tripped some kind of invisible sensor or something......there was a click, and a whizzing noise as Tris spun to face the sound.......only to find a quartet of arrows in tight formation had been released and were flying at her from the opposite wall......Tris didn't even have time turn fully, let alone to think to blast the arrows away, her hands flung up before her in a defensive gesture as she cringed slightly with eyes squeezed shut waiting for........
.......the pain that did not come. Tris opened her eyes again to find the arrows hanging in the air not two feet from her face, their sharp and deadly looking points glinting in a wicked reminder of the pain she almost felt.
....Tris let go the breath she was unconsciously holding, adjusted her power, and blasted the arrows into ashes, her bland face hiding the fact that she was still slightly rattled bout the almost impaled thing, the supreme confident feeling of the rebal without a cause, I am so great thing of only afew moments ago diminished significantly .......She cleared her throat and gestured to Kit; "Come on, we better go, dont wanna trigger another set of those."
She depressed the door panel and it opened without incident, and she waved Kit through.
Hunter watched as Tris and Kitra cleared the maze. Tris seemed to have finally focused, and instead of being flustered and panicking at every new obstacle she was facing it calmly, and had no qualms about utilising her power. He wondered if she’d be as aggressive against the swords men in the tower they were approaching.
There were no more traps between them and the end, just the swords men and a climb up the tower stairs. Of course, once they had the disk that was where it would get really interesting. Hunter waved to Calley and Zephyr, indicating for them to hold their fire.
“Once they emerge from the tower I want you to open fire and keep firing until they cross that wall at the end.” While they had set off all the traps, and so wouldn’t be bothered by them on the way back, he had a feeling they’d find going back much harder.
Resting his arms atop the walkways guardrail Zephyr tracked the girls passage in relative silence amidst the mild din of Calleys constant barrage. The merc had initially thought his latest task would resign him to an even evening of tedious monotony, surprisingly though this was not turning out to be the case. In under an hour he had encountered two more elusive Kabal members, one of which seemed capable of creating new matter out of thin air and another whom he suspected was more then he seemed; since when did Hunter ever tell the whole story after all? Although Simon was admittedly somewhat curious it wasn’t any of his business what kind of skeletons Calley kept in his metaphorical closet, the elemental had enough of his own in any case.
Releasing a wearisome sigh Zephyrs attention refocused on the trio of orbs as hey closed on their target, lifting one arm slightly so that only the elbow was still resting upon the guardrail the merc raised his hand and idly began making vague sweeping gestures with one finger. If anyone had happened to have a birds eye view of the situation they may perhaps have noted that each time the elementals finger swept through the air the trio of orbs far below followed suit. It was a rather lazy and inefficient way of utilizing his mutation since it limited the reaction speed of the orbs to that of his own physical reflexes instead of the speed of his thoughts. The one benefit of this method however was that it required very little focus on his part and allowed him to occupy his thoughts with other matters. ‘Her birthday is coming up soon, I’ll have to get her a present in the next week or so, hard to believe she’ll be thirteen soo-’
A sudden explosion jarred the merc from his inner thoughts and an expression of true surprise decorated his features for less than a second before he remembered where he was and who he was with before swiftly restoring his impassionate mask. Silently reprimanding himself for his carelessness Simon’s cobalt orbs hastily scanned the complex labyrinth below until he caught site of the girls new position and the slowly settling dust cloud which he presumed were the remains of his projectiles. ‘oh? So she’s finally striking back,’ he thought with a raised brow, ‘I suppose I shall have to raise my game then
Before the elemental could follow through on this thought though Hunter signaled for both Calley and himself to cease fire and bid them wait until the girls had emerged from the tower and were on their way back. Acknowledging the request with a simple nod of his head Zephyr removed his weight from the guardrail and stood straight for a moment as he took advantage of the brief lull to stimulate the circulation in his limbs. ‘what to do?’ he wondered idly as he watched the girls clear the last stretch to the tower.
Now although the elemental was an individual of great patience he did not enjoy being inactive for long periods of time, actually that was not quite accurate since the term inactive conveyed a lack of physical activity and Simon could easily while away an entire day with the appropriate novels and a quite place for reflection. So if one were to refine the statement listed above it would be more precise to say that the elemental had a simple aversion to do nothing and judging from the girls current progress it could be some time before they achieved their objective within the looming tower ahead of them.
It was with that thought in mind that Zephyr allowed his gaze to wander away from the two female Kabal members and over to his current companion on the walkway, from what little the merc could tell it appeared that Calley and Kitra had some type of rapport with each other for the shifters attention had been fixed solely upon the artistic girl throughout the duration of this laughable exercise so far and he seemed to be thoroughly enjoying himself. If the elemental were one to assume he would have theorized that the twos connection was somewhat similar to the relationship between himself and Ms. Evans; an association of chance and one that was not terribly beneficial.
As it so happens Zephyr was the type to presume much about others with a less than complete knowledge of their character; however what prevented the merc from simply becoming another foolish individual who took things for granted was the fact that he recognized his assumptions were simply that, they were not given facts. The elemental rarely relied completely upon conjecture unless there was no other alternative because as his employer had stated not too long ago assumptions often led to “nasty accidents”.
At this current moment in time Simon’s knowledge of both Calley and Kitra in terms of both personality and mutation was less than complete, taking into account the fact that he was supposedly the Kabals second in command the elemental would view himself as foolish beyond belief if he did not take advantage of his current situation to increasing his understanding of his subordinates.
“Calley, how well do you know Kitra?”

Calley
Calley leaned his arms on the guardrail, and settled himself down so his chin was resting on his hands. Idly, he watched the girls continue. Meh. It wasn’t really that interesting: he wasn’t one for drawn-out fight scenes that nothing but a pat on the back from Hunter rested on. His rubber-ball machine gun was propped up on the rails next to his legs, reloaded and ready. But he didn’t do so well with the not-doing-anything thing; Hunter should know that. The urge to say something—no doubt something stupid, that would end with A) Hunter lifting him up by his throat, or B) some form of violence from the here-to-fore stoic Zephyr—was almost overwhelming. So he was just about to admit the defeat of his own personality in any social situation and let Slate take over again, when...
“Calley, how well do you know Kitra?”
...Zephyr asked him a question that almost-maybe sounded safe to answer. More importantly, it was a questions he wanted to answer. Calley turned himself around, and took a seat on the walkway floor, one leg stretched out in front of him and the other knee being used as a convenient resting spot for his crossed arms. He looked up at Zephyr from his new seat. “Not well. She’s not someone that can be trusted, though. She isn’t like us—” he hesitated a moment, unsure of whether grouping himself with the mercenary was something the man would react violently to or not. He decided it was safe to keep going until the guy did something to him. “—she doesn’t keep her secrets, and she doesn’t realize that not keeping them can get herself and others hurt. She probably doesn’t keep other people’s secrets, either.” He didn’t know why he’d told her anything about his family. She could tell Hunter, and Hunter could maybe use them against him. Scratch that: through his lovely collar, Hunter had already heard everything he'd told the girl. He'd forgotten about that. It was something he really need to never, ever forget about. 'Cause Calley certainly wouldn’t put it past the Scary Boss Man to hurt his sister. Moral of the story: just because Kitra was one of the first nice people he’d had a conversation with in about two years didn’t mean he should actually talk to her.
“What about the other girl—you called her Ms. Evans? Do you know her well? I guess I really haven’t been around much, since this started. I wouldn’t even recognize most of our teammates.” He frowned at the thought. Information was what kept Calley alive—quite literally. It was his usefulness as a gatherer and hoarder of information that constantly inspired Hunter to merely hurt him, rather than simply kill him.
Kitra felt the rope between her and Tris go fully out.....and then heard a few explosions and got covered in plastic dust particles.....she sneezed a few times...then after jumping the hurdles she realized that once again Tris hadn't followed.....and even more dust filled the air.....
"Sorry, couldn't help myself."
Kitra grinned....then blinked a few times as Tris attacked the monster.....Kitra grabbed two snack bars from her bag.....proceeding to munch one down before Tris finished blowing up the monster...and her mouth dropped open as another trap was set off and Tris froze the arrows in midair then exploded them to nothingness.....
"Come on, we better go, dont wanna trigger another set of those."
Walking over to Tris and moving through the door, she handed Tris the other snack bar as she passed by.....And stopped and grinned at the sight of 20 swordsman....She reached down and struggled with the rope for a few moments and finally got the rope unknotted and off of her waist. Letting it drop she turned to Tris, "I got these guys." Without waiting for an answer she moved quickly into the room and brought a black hilted katana and a silver hilted black dagger into being.....
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked about the room for a few split seconds.....they seemed to be wearing some sort of suits....bringing her katana in an attack position and bringing her dagger up ready to slash out when needed......
Kitra's eyes widened slightly as two of the swordsman rushed her....ducking under a sword slash.....that would have taken her head with it...she rolled and twisted so she came up facing the two swordsman and leaped upwards, slashing her sword upwards as well....her katana connected with a loud clang and her dagger barely stopped the other guy's sword.....pushing upwards with both her dagger and katana, she broke free and slashed for a stomach and was shocked when she didn't meet resistance....and even more surprise etched across her features as she watched the guy slowly fall to the ground...and for her troubles of not paying attention to the other swordsman.....she got a slash on her right shoulder....'What the heck is it with my right shoulder!?'....she let out a frustrated growl...slashing angerly out at the guy....her katana connected with his sword and she grinned and hit him hard with the hilt of her dagger....in his stomach....not only did the guy double over, he fell to the floor as well.....
Kitra smirked slightly....'So those suits seem to be pressure sensitive...hmm....only one way to know for sure....keep hitting them. Her katana and her dagger disappeared and her mind did the slideshow of her sketches and was happy to see that there was a metal bo within them....she concentrated and the bo appeared in her hands....breathing a little heavier then normal, she glanced upwards and noted that the rest of the swordsmen were just staring at her.....one of them didn't even have his sword....make that swords....drawn.....
That urked her....a lot.....and then she shrugged it off.....they probably had something planned.....she went forward anyway and noted that three of them broke off and surrounded her and two more joined....and all but that one swordsman, whose swords weren't even drawn.....surrounded her....she glanced quickly around her, she was completly trapped...she adjusted her metal bo slightly and that slight movement cause them to surge in....
Kitra brought her bo upwards and blocked one sword...twirling her bo she disarmed him and managed to block another and ducked as a sword slashed over her head....she twirled around, doing a 360 and had brought her bo out and had caught what looked like five of them in various places as they sunk slowly to the ground....'well, seven down, thirteen more to go.....lovely'....
Kitra continued ducking and weaving....blocking and attacking with her bo...it seemed an eternity when in fact it was only about two or three minutes before all of the swordsmen were down....except for that one....he was just standing there....not doing anything....just waiting for her it seemed.....
Her shoulder was really stiffening up and it didn't want to cooperate....at all really....Kitra stepped a few paces forward while rotating her shoulder a bit....that helped but not as much as she needed it too...and stopped about five feet from the last swordsman blocking her and Tris' path....her metal bo disappeared and the silver hilted dagger appeared once more and this time a shorter version of her katana appeared and the hilt was of a purple hue......
Taking a few deep breathes she brought her short katana up in a defense postion and raced forward lashing out with her dagger....and was stopped short as it met with a short sword....she was barely able to get her katana up in time to block his long sword from cutting her in two....she unlocked her dagger and feinted to the left and slashed downwards for his right instead and he used his long sword's hilt to block it......
This pattern continued for a few more minutes...well almost the same pattern, she was getting a few cuts and nicks from this guy's attacks.....she finally spotted an opening and tried to go for it but that resulted in her short katana and her dagger to be smacked out of her hands....she grunted, that had stung her hands....she moved forward in that split second that his swords were still up in the air from knocking her weapons out of her hands, and slammed her fist into his right shoulder....and watched silently as he fall to the floor....
Kitra turned to look at Tris, "Shall we proceed?"
(OOC: Looks down at Zephyr's post and quirks an eyebrow....and wonders at the interest in Kitra....)
Leaning against the opposite guardrail with his hands in his jacket pocket Zephyr focused his azure orbs on Calley and listened to his words in silence, occasionally nodding his head whenever the boy mentioned something interesting or simply to encourage him to keep speaking. The merc was glad the shifter had taken his question seriously, he would have found it somewhat dull if the boy had attempted to side step his question with another act of tomfoolery or inane babble. As this was not the case though the elemental was taking the opportunity to scrutinize everything possible within his companions words and actions in order to divine as much relevant information as possible, for while Calley was painting a rather vivid picture of Kitra personality it was the narrative behind the boys dialog that Zephyr was truly interested in, the untold story as it were.
Chief among the elementals observations was the slight pause Calley had in placing himself among the same ilk as the mercenary. The exact motive behind this moment of hesitation was unclear to Simon at the present, considering that the boy had no problem in playfully taunting him fear seemed an unlikely cause. It could simply be that the shifter considered himself to be above Zephyr for some reason, if that were the case then Simon could care less, the opinions of others meant very little to him and he could easily overlook such behaviors that others would find insulting.
Another point which had piqued the elementals interest was Calley’s personal judgment of Kitra, the boy had described her as a naive individual who seemed unable to comprehend the importance of keeping secretes mouth shut, in short someone who couldn’t keep her mouth shut and while Zephyr could easily believe this he wondered exactly what the girl knew, and what she had said, to cause such a sense of distrust in the shifter; the boy was speaking from personal experience after all. ‘A small talk with the artistic Kabal member might be in order.’ There was no such thing as useless information after all.
“What about the other girl—you called her Ms. Evans? Do you know her well? I guess I really haven’t been around much, since this started. I wouldn’t even recognize most of our teammates.”[/b]
Simon closed his eyes and remained in silence for a moment as he debated whether or not to answer the little spy’s question, it was not that he had any desire to keep secrets for Ms. Evans he was simply trying to foresee if the sharing of such information would inconvenience him in anyway. After a few seconds of mental thought the mercenary delivered what he determined to safely edited version of his knowledge.
“My association with Ms. Evans is limited,” he began slowly, “and we are not on the best of terms, from what I have seen though her mutation is superbly suited to her personality as she is easily angered and her temper is extremely volatile despite this though she does not enjoy causing pain and seems to have an aversion to using her abilities to end the lives of others. Aside from that there is very little I can tell you about her in terms of personality.” Again Zephyr paused and recollected his thoughts as he mentally pieced together the next portion of his dialog. “Her mutation as you saw is extremely volatile and works by increasing the speed of molecules until they gain the necessary energy to break their bonds resulting in explosions of vary in strength. Her trump card however is the ability to freeze objects both living and inanimate thereby allowing her to either retreat or fortify her position. The control she has over these abilities though mutation is basic at best and relies in part on hand gestures and emotions and although she has shown potential for growth since coming to the labs I doubt she will ever become proficient in combat unless she learns to control her temper.”
At last finished with his evaluation Zephyr allowed himself to fall silent as he reopened his azure eyes and fixed Calley with a thoughtful stare; being a mercenary Simon understood the concept of compromise and exchange better than most, there was a reason he had shared his opinion on Trista’s battle ability and this was because he was expecting a suitable exchange of information from Calley in return.
“What can you tell me about Kitra’s mutation or combat ability?”
