The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lee nodded slowly as she heard Tarin speak. ''It's not like sleeping makes me feel more rested. But yeah, I have…”
Why was he sounding so surprised that she'd been avoiding taking the runs that would let her sleep more often.?
As Tarin continued to speak, he answered that question himself without her having to voice it.
A small smile slowly started to appear in her face. She knew that he was aware of what she was able to do, that was never in question, but he was so fully trusting of her abilities that he was in with her going for a run if she thought she was ok, safe, to go run in the park at night.
”You keep telling me that I’m incredible. But you’re kind of amazing too,” Lee said softly before she stretched up to give him a kiss.

Oh. Right. Maybe Tarin needed to adjust his line of thinking a little bit there. Sleep didn’t function the same way for Lee that it did for him, so it was something he didn’t need to think about quite so much. She still needed sleep sometimes though, she had said that if she just tried not to sleep eventually she crashed out and slept whether she wanted to or not. There was also the fact that Lee probably knew what she was doing. Still, it didn’t hurt to pay attention since she apparently did things like not run when she thought it might upset him.
”You keep telling me that I’m incredible. But you’re kind of amazing too,”
Tarin kissed Lee back, uncomfortable with the praise for something so simple. It still amazed him that the people in Lee’s life were so willing to chronically underestimate her. Clearly there had been other issues around the park in the past as well. He probably should have asked, but he didn’t want to know.
”Thanks…” he said, ”And I don’t tell you anything that’s untrue.”

Lee couldn’t help the slight blush when Tarin said that he didn’t tell her anything that wasn’t true. Because Lee definitely remembered him saying she looked good after running or working out, and no….
”Come on,” Lee said, giving Tarin’s hand a squeeze before moving to walk out of the kitchen. ”Let’s see if we can find something a little less emotionally damaging to watch.”
