The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>"This just means your plate might be open to more people, is all. Maybe if we widen the menu, you'll have a better chance of finding someone, man, woman, or otherwise, who doesn't suck,"
"Here's to hoping." Sveta chuckled. Mathematically speaking, Zselyke had to be right. Right? Right now Sveta could not really imagine finding someone who did not suck in the relationship capacity. But maybe one day she would be ready for that.
>>"Maybe they'll just fall into your lap. It seems like you like it when they do that, right? It's a shame you couldn't get more info about these witches between dances."
"Well, actually..." Sveta smirked. She knew Zselyke was going to love this next bit. "Looks like... Bubbles is going to come visit me at one point. To talk about magic." she added quickly. "She seems to be one of the few... magicians that don't hate mutants. That's an opportunity." Obviously.

Zselyke knew Sveta had plenty of time to find someone. The blonde was a decade younger than her, and despite her wild and promiscuous ways over the years, Zselyke was confident she would settle down with someone if it ever felt like the right time. Life was long and there were no deadlines.
Everyone had a different sexual awakening, with some going through multiple. Zselyke knew better than to encourage Sveta to read into things with her sexual awakening, especially when it came in the form of a stripper co-ed.
It would be easier to show restraint if Sveta did not keep stringing her along with juicy reveals. Zselyke tried to say something immediately, but Sveta was wise enough to cut her off with a clarification. It did nothing to slow Zselyke down, of course. The reasoning was sound and practical, just like Sveta, and as a Havenite, Zselyke saw the appeal of learning more about these witches running around. Was Bubbles in the minority with her pro-mutant feelings? With luck, she could shed light on something unknown.
She was apparently good at that. "Look at you making my silly nonsense night productive somehow! It does sound like a good opportunity. Be sure to treat her well to get her comfortable and ready to... talk magic." Zselyke popped up floating candles around their space in the private car, setting the mood. "Maybe a nice dinner reservation. Improve mutant-magician relations. And who knows, maybe she's in the market for a sugar mommy," she could not resist tacking on at the end, snorting and laughing at the proposal. Not that she disapproved by any means, but the idea that Sveta could stumble into a sugar baby before Zselyke was cosmic comedy.
As predicted, Senator Lányi was having way, way too much fun with this. Now there were candles everywhere. She had breezed past Sveta maybe being... pansexual?... and went straight to her candlelit dating a stripper.

Sveta rolled her eyes and swatted one color-drained hand at a candle.
>>"Maybe a nice dinner reservation. Improve mutant-magician relations. And who knows, maybe she's in the market for a sugar mommy,"
"Do I look like I should be anyone's mother, sugar or otherwise?" Sveta smirked, giving Zselyke a look. "... do not answer that. I need to sleep. And think. And I won't tell you how it went if you don't behave..."
How it would go, in the end, was far in the future.
