The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Nice, sunny days belonged to the UV Spectrum version of a sunny, delightful day. Meaning, Zizi thought the day was nice only when the world outside was a mixture of cool and warm, chill and charred, because her heat vision, Zizi saw everything in shades of warmth and no longer in color. So, today, the sun beat down on the Mansion yard with total equality, and the warm, bright bodies that splayed out in the yard populated the otherwise greenish yawn. The green was not a result of chlorophyll, but due to the exterior temperature being around the mid-sixties, or so Zizi learned to associate the weather with such fahrenheit equivilancies.
Needless to say, it was also a beautiful day to pick dandelions, a pasttime that hadn't changed ever since Zizi gained her mutation. She took the Friday afternoon in stride, having finished a rather dull week of classes. Her favorites were when she were able to exercise her combat skills. She had recently learned how to store up heat in her fists and exert the heat onto another person's head to give them temporary heat stroke. Now, whenever anyone had remotely the desire to skip classes, they had given her looks. She was the living thermometer and thermostat, so some trusted her to give them literal temperatures so that they could feign fevers. She gained almost fifty bucks in spare change before she was ratted out by a student she didn't even know. The whole situation was kind of a bad first impression to make on her professors, but who could truly blame her for learning to be so subtle with her abilities?
Given the slight surge in popularity, Zizi couldn't actually claim to have made any new friends. Yes, she was not as flashy as the kid who literally combusted or the guy who could create ice golems with his mind, but at least she could somewhat see in the dark. Shouldn't that give her some cool points? Even the kids who asked her to give them fevers only did so for the favor, and went about their days with their own friends. She sat with either new people every time during lunch or by herself. Maybe making friends was something she took for granted, since all her dojo mates and competitors in gymnastics would tend to group up afterwards and a culture of mutual appreciation formed.
She decided to pick a few flowers in her mindless little daze, and realized that there was someone who was sleeping there on the ground beside the tree. She was a little surprised, not having seen them, but she was also intrigued by the person's appearance. Then, she did something she grew embarrassed about later, she tripped. Falling on the person sleeping, she muttered in pain, then pulled herself back on her feet, blurting out apologies.
"Sorry, I'm so sorry. Didn't realize you were sleeping here..."

Luna's habit of oversleeping had become well known for teachers, and so Luna now sought out places to sleep where she could deal with annoyed teachers later. The weather had been so nice she just had to enjoy it, besides when was she ever going to use English? She already spoke it and second period would be way better, history was a bit better. Luna decided she knew a tree toward the fence where the teachers hopefully not find her. She had used the location under the tree a few times though she liked to sswitch it up a lot as one of their teachers could haunt wild life or something like it.
Then she felt something heavy fall on her and her eyes quickly opened and out of reflex her tail twitched she barely kept more then a few drops from escaping. Fortunately for her, her black furry cheeks did not convey her blush as she figured out what had just happened in her mind. She scrambled to her own feet running one set of claws through her tail fur. "All good, all good. I'm Luna" she said stretching her back til she stood straight before relaxing to her natural bent forward posture.
She had never gotten to talk with the other girl, their classes were different Luna thought, maybe. "as you might guess i have all the mystic powers of the skunk and I'm super adorable" she winked with a smile. Their were far worse ways to wake up then with a cute girl falling on you. She ran a paw over her pointed ear.
"Tell me about you though, must be more to you then making kids sick" she said happily. Word traveled in a school, more so one with a relatively small population. Luna had never managed to catch up with the other girl for that favor before she had been caught. A shame as Luna really could have used less detention, which she realized she might also need to go to some time.
Zizi managed to catch herself by falling into a push-up position. Unluckily, the flowers in her hands were crushed by her weight and she ended up with a scattering of dandelion fluff caught under her fingers.
>>"All good, all good. I'm Luna" The person whom she tripped on managed to avoid being fallen upon and stretched up on to the grass, elegantly composing herself. Meanwhile, Zizi kindof fell sideways onto her rump before pulling herself off the ground.
"Call me, ZIzi" ZIzi stared at the person who had then bent forward in an animal-like fashion. Because of her thermal vision, it would have taken her a much longer time to discern what type of creature the person was, but due to the stripe going down her tail, it made sense when the person explained, "as you might guess i have all the mystic powers of the skunk and I'm super adorable".
All the moments she failed to reach out to a classmate flashed through ZIzi's mind, and as her heart raced in her chest she was reminded that this was not a time to mess things up. Then the skunk-like person asked her about her mutation, and it was now or never.
"Um... I'm kinda like a living heat battery. I can do this." Zizi walked over to the tree, placed her palm on the bark, and took a couple of deep breaths. Suddenly a frost-like burn appeared on the tree's trunk the same size as her hand. Then she focused all the heat she had sucked up from the tree into her other palm, and placed her left hand on the tree beside her other hand. Then a searing noise could be heard, and a popping like noise as the melted-iron hot temperature of her hand seared her palm into the tree's bark.
"Kinda like that. I'm trying to figure out other ways to work with the whole heat-sucking and heat-pulsing. If you have any thoughts, I'd be up for whatever...." She had many reasons to blush but she didn't know she was blushing as well, out of embarrassment at first, but also because she subconsciously let some of the heat she absorbed enter into her cheeks.

Zizi? it struck her as a funny name, she seemed friendly enough though if not a bit high strung. She watched as Zizi explained and performed her powers like the delighted child she truly was. "That's pretty cool" she said taking in the effects on the tree. In a way she was jealous as trying something like that herself would not be pleasant for most people.
How to use her power in new ways. Luna thought to herself a few moments."Well i mean, youl never have to worry about your ice cream melting! Or locks you could just melt right through them. You totally don't need a stove either right." she said rattling off random ideas that came to mind until she figured Zizi might like something a bit more serious. "I mean theirs so much you can do with that like cooking food....um well do you reach 575F? What have you tried with your powers so far? Other then getting kids outa class?" she asked giving a random but high enough sounding number that would kill germs.
She let out a yawn. "Not every day a pretty girl falls over me" she said not at all sure if she was trying to flirt or tease the other girl. "I would show ya my tail, but everyone would know for roughly three miles and Ms grey's going to mad enough at me as is. So what brings you out this way?" she asked curiously.
