The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Adapteds, other then Mama she had no real encounters with them, and while she kept her form just fine in her field, her tail became dead weight. The bigger issue was the juices in her tail could seep out and that was a nightmare for everyone. A single dose could e smelled miles away but five or six at once were much worse. Her scratched her ears as she remembered her eyes had gotten better but her nose and ears felt so limited in the adapted field. "Well i only encounted the adapted counselor lady here but in her field my tail is like wet macaroni. Do they all work the same?" she said explaining.
She glanced at her clawed hands and considered what Sam meant. "Well no but....Do Do swords come up often? How do you keep any of that stuff on hand without drawing a lot of attention? she asked a bit confused. The sticks maybe, she assumed red wood as cali but was unsure how strong those were. The bow and arrows and the hammer seemed unpractical as well, she had a feeling he did not mean the tool.
"I mean i am totally willing teach, certainly missing a block with my claws could be well painful and yea i am not really into the fire thing either. I'm not sure im comfortable setting anyone a light. I Like the idea of control" she said having not really considered a weapon other then her powers.
She had meant a situation but that did certainly answer her question. "that sounds really painful. I can only burn ya a bit if i hit ya in the eye with the juice. I don't think it does any long term damage but it will blind someone a few minutes. " she said having done so to some animals who had ignored her markings.
"Ya know i spent years before getting my powers watching you guys on tv. Was the only reason i watched the news. It's kinda wild getting to train and talk with you" she said and a little intimidating but she kept that part to herself. Her mom had put an end to that as well after her coma. "It always inspired me. A mutant saved us when my school was attacked as well and it made me want to protect others like you guys do"" she said shaking a bit of snow off of her fur.

”From what I know it’s different for everyone with every adapted.” he said scratching the back of his head, ”Wish I could give you more information than that but I’ve run into ones that could look at me and my powers stop working, or walk into a room and they stop working. Gemma, I got to be close enough for them to stop working. So there is at least a warning.” he didn’t like feeling powerless.
”More often than I like.” he said with another shrug, ”We do a lot, and a good chucnk of the time it’s us responding to stuff. Sometimes we know someone has a weapon some times we don’t.” he raised his hand to the side and the blade of ice formed till it felt ‘right’ in his hand and he offered it up to Luna. It would be cold to the touch but with her furred hands it shouldn’t be a problem.
”Easier for me and Shin, we can create what we need but its more what you feel comfortable with. Cali sticks the ones Luke used, were often on the side of his leg in a small holster.” he tapped his side and continued, ”You don’t have to have a weapon, just you’ll need some sort of training if we are going to put you in the field. I like my teammates to be able to handle themselves. So if you focus on using you’re brain as a weapon, I’m okay with that.”
”and I’m cool with you not setting things on fire. We have enough people who like to set things on fire. We don’t need any more.” he smirked, ”How about we stick to search and rescues for a bit till you get a better feel for combat training?” he offered. The X-Men didn’t always need heavy hitters, Sam preferred subtlety at least when it came to missions.
”Oh yeah? Hope it was worth the watch. I didn’t know we were being filmed half the time. Just shows that we need better crowd control.” Sam smirked, ”I only learned about the mansion and the team after the camps here.” Sam said recalling, ”Spent a year before that in the mountains.” he recalled it less fondly now.
”It’s good we can inspire, that’s what the team is about. Showing we are more than our powers. We are the choices we make.” the last bit Sam smirked at, ”I’m only human. Might have been on the t.v. but I like to think of myself as approachable.” as a last show of force the mound of snow behind him started to hollow out revealing a few holes large enough for the mansion students to climb in and play with if they wished.

She nodded, adapteds were scary in their way but she had a hard time seeing Gemma as human because of it. Maybe thats why she lacked real fear towards her. It was disconcerting but their was really not much one could do other then try and be awhere of them. Not so much avoid them as know their range and power.
She was surprised actual weapons were a thing that came up. She supposed she should not have been when he reminded her he could make weapons as could some people he knew. If they could well other people could as well as a quick dagger like weapon was prolbely the most common. She knew her fur was not quite thick enough to deflect blades but maybe she could use that fur to hide something.
"I should be good at search and rescue and i may be able to hide some things under my tail" she replied swatting and some of the hanging fur with her clawed hand. "I guess you have to be prepared for almost anything when it does to people like on and even others." she said not entirely sure how the felt about magic users.
"Ive never been to the mountains but that sounds nice. Well everyone has a camera these days so that will be a touch thing no matter what i think. I mean doorbells, drones, phones, traffic camera all have them, even my moms old car" she said not quite realizing the car cam did not record. We were the choices we made? She considered that deeply. "The choices we make....like the total of all our good and bad deeds?" she asked thinking on it.
She nervously played with her fingers. "So youv'e seen many mutants right?" Her nose and ears twitches as she gripped her left wrist in her right, clearly unsure she wanted the answer to the question in her mind. "How many mutants have you encounter d who was wrap themself s in pink?" She had little internet experince but TV ran enough specials for her to have a thought on who might hold the identity. Luna was unsure how to justify feeling grateful to someone with such a scary background,

Nodding his head in agreement the mountains were nice, a great place to hide when it came to avoiding people who were hunting you for escaping. Sam didn’t mention that, Luna didn’t need to know about that bit. Not yet at least. Sam preferred to keep things light for now. People got weird when they learned about his childhood.
”Probably thousands.” he said thinking about it, way too many to count, from his time before the X-men and everything after joining them. Romania was probably what pushed those numbers through the roof. There were so many mutants there that were in the camps with him. Half of them he never even got to talk to or see what they could do.
”Aura....” he sighed loudly and his shoulders slumped a bit. ”One that uses the color pink.” he said truthfully and not hiding how he felt about her. His brows lowered and he put his hands on his hips. ”She’s the first one that comes to mind. Me and her but heads a few times.” among other things. ”Why the interest?” he asked curiously.

She regretted asking as soon as the words left her lips, and Mr' Johnson's reaction spoke volumes on how he felt about the woman. She looked down and stroked her claws through her fur. "um well..it's all a bit...maybe i should a asked the counceler lady" she started before steadying herself. "The day i got my powers, my school was attacked by anti mutant humans. My friend told me a woman wrapped in pink saved us but just cried when i asked more. I just recall a man pointing a gun at me, a scream and what sounded like japanese, then i blacked out and woke up a skunk" she said her words easier as she continued.
"when i got here i used the internet right away and well, i don't need to to recall or remove safe search to realize what she did....I'm terrified of her of course but i also feel grateful and guilty with her. My life was spared through so much blood" she said still not making eye contact, her claws now gripping the edge of her tail.
"The act inspired me to try and be a hero, to want to be an x men. To repay the second chance at life i had been givin. I had been hoping their were other it might be but the internet failed me and you confirmed it. Don;t get me wrong i'm still all in on the hero thing but, it just feels like the dream is dirtier knowing she was involved in getting me there" she said hoping it all made sense. She prolbely should have went to Gemma she told herself again but she felr more comfortable around the frosted teacher.

The icemancer avoided eye contact as well and didn’t need a thermal sense active to know that Luna was doing the same. This wasn’t his area of expertise and wasn’t sure how to respond at first so he just listened. Until she was done sharing her thoughts and feelings. When she was Sam scratched the back of his head.
”I’m glad some good came out of her actions.” he said clenching his jaw for a moment not wanting to say more. The words he was going to say would have probably given Luna the wrong impression of what he felt.
”Don’t get me wrong, I’m not happy she killed those people. She has enough power and control to have dealt with them so they could pay for their crimes.” Sam said feeling like a hypocrite for he too rarely had trouble taking lives if it meant save even more. The difference was he was actively trying not kill people if he could help it.
”I guess it be that way sometimes, just don’t let it eat at you.” he said not sure what else to say with a sigh and a shrug. ”It was here call to kill those people. Not yours. You couldn’t have stopped her even if you were conscious.”
”Like the attitude though.” he said offering a smile and a thumbs up, ”I’m looking forward to see the hero you choose to become!” he said truthfully.

It still felt odd to be inspired by such a person. She stopped figiting with her fur though. a nervous tick she had develloped over the years. She had trouble imaging the mind set of somone like what she read on the woman. Sam on the other hand in her eyes seemed the polar opposite and she was unsure how to reconcile the two very different mind sets who both seemed to want peace. Her teacher however was not nearly as terrifying either.
"Who could ever be happy with death? The dead can't help others become more accepting only less of it" she said still able to see the world in mostly black and white. She had no doubt Sam was right, she had seen the video. Still she could not help but wonder if Aura's mindset had sprung from fear. Fear Like Luna felt all the time when not near those she knew as mutants. Luna feared one day she would be drawn to that mental state though she knew even if she did she could never do the same damage. Their was comfort in that as well as the words of Sam.
"Hopefully one that can make you proud" she said honestly and also sucking up slightly. She did understand what her teacher was saying as well. "We are the result of our own actions not the actions of those around us" she said slowly connecting the dots in her mind as she thought more on Sam's words.

Sam didn’t say anything, weather because he once was happy killing people who wronged him and his people or because he didn’t want Luna to think of him of anything other than a teacher. She needed to respect him to learn from him and if she didn’t respect him... well Sam wasn’t looking forward to another one of his favorite students dropping his class because of what he once was.
He decided to go with the truth, even if he had to fight through a momentary clenched jaw. ”Someone who doesn’t know true happiness. What she felt was probably only momentary and fleeting. Her history and mine aren’t that different.” Sam said making sure not to make any eye contact.
”Difference is I found this place. She didn’t.” he sometimes wondered what would have happened if he stopped in at the golden doors before coming to the mansion. Sam was glad with his decision though. Anyone who walked trough those doors seemed to be cursed.
A loud sigh, ”You try your best to help others that can’t help themselves... Luna, I could never be more proud.” he said giving her a thumbs up.

Luna could only wonder at the kind of pasts they had, had. Still in her eyes it had produced two extremely different results. It also meant that she was in deed in the right place in her eyes. She also certainly was not void of happiness in any way, at least she was pretty sure. She did like some emo music. It was clearly hard for him to admit and she felt like she may have pried a bit to far.
She pretty much glowed under the praise. Today had been almost more then she could of hoped for. Well maybe not the tail grab but it was a thing she knew she had to look at better. She silenced the part of her that felt unworthy as she basked in it a few moments.
She tried to bring it to a more cheerful topic not wanting to discomfort sam further then what he had revealed. She guessed it might not be something he shared much, she knew she wouldn't."Seems like the world will always need hero's in it, a never ending fight" she replied returning the thumbs up gesture. the world had seemed to calm a bit in her eyes if one ignored the alternate reality, zombie army and the death robots she heard the police had once used.
She let out a shiver as the cold began to penetrate her fur. Skunks were burrowers."I'm going to head inside and get warm, Look forward to the real maze" she said. Turning to head toward the entrance of the school for some warmth and maybe some hot coco.
