The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sam put the guy back on ice. He'd be found, eventually, if he melted out sooner or later. Then he'd have a whole lot of explaining to do about encountering a high profile X-man, and about the things he did or did not tell them. Maybe this plan would actually work.
>>”Then where? I don’t’ really see why this is bad place. He can’t hear you and… I don’t feel anyone. Just us…”
Sveta sighed. Young Sam was stubborn as the old one, but in a less logical way. He used his powers to check their surroundings, though, which meant that at least their powers were the same.
>>”Seeing someone… didn’t mean it that way..."
Sveta rolled her eyes. "Sure".
>>"So what am I supposed to say to whoever picks him up? Don’t have much of a reason yet.”
"Just don't be here when they pick him up. That's the whole point." Sveta sighed, walking over to sit down on some crates by the wall. They were clearly not going anywhere for this talk. "Let's start over. They call me Muse. I work for Haven. I knew the... older you."

The young icemancer just laughed when she said don’t be here when they pick him up. It would be pretty obvious who pinned him under the ice or rather it would make him a prime suspect. Sam turned and wondered if he should break a limb shatter the ice and leave? Maybe knock him out? Was it that bad if he feigned innocence? He’d probably get chewed out. He needed to stop giving reasons to do so. Sam was an X-man after all he could only claim he didn’t have anything to do with them so many times.
”So let him go? Ice is a pretty good dead give-a-way. If they don’t think I did it there will be more of a headache for me.” should he let her rough him up. Sam looked from her to the guy again and folded his arms his chest might have puffed out a bit as he thought about it.
Sam exhaled, at least he had a name now. She works for haven. Great, he heard about that. She also knew the older him. He laughed again knowing where this was going. ”On behalf of any version of me. Sorry.” Sam said assuming she ‘kneeew him’ knew him.
Even if they started over, ”Still taken. Even if you did know me.” Sam gave a wink and then tilted his head back. ”Why should I help you? Starting over is pretty good with the truth? I think I heard that somewhere?” Sam shrugged, ”I’m supposed to be a good guy. It doesn’t sound very ‘good’” Sam said giving the air quotes.
>>”So let him go? Ice is a pretty good dead give-a-way. If they don’t think I did it there will be more of a headache for me.”
Sveta sighed. Young Sam was a pain. She was not going to get out of his without actually having to tell him things, or fighting him. She opted for the former. She was too tired to fight the icemancer.
>>”On behalf of any version of me. Sorry. Still taken. Even if you did know me.”
"Not that kinda knowing." she clarified, taking a seat. Geez. Was he that popular that young? Somehow she could believe it. It explained a lot.
>>”Why should I help you? Starting over is pretty good with the truth? I think I heard that somewhere? I’m supposed to be a good guy. It doesn’t sound very ‘good’”
"Okay, look" Sveta sighed, breaking it down with the rest of her reserves of patience. "Haven is built in a neighborhood where two mafia turfs meet. We want to support the community and help mutants but these idiots are making it **** hard. SO we either get into a three-way turf war, or we find a more tactful way of handling things, without collateral damage."

The young icemancer gave a thumbs up and wink in response, there was no way they knew each other and one of them didn’t make a move.
Help mutants…. Sam shrugged. That was a pretty good reason. Not one that really effected him any but he was supposed to be doing hero-y things. Helping people and mutants fell under that.
”I mean, I’m always up for beating up some bad guys.” Sam said smirking with his hands behind his head. ”In fact I excel. But if you wanted to get into a fight guess you would have already, and that probably doesn’t help the community any.” he said sorting everything out aloud.
”Sounds like you need to take them down at the same time too. Maybe a Rico case, or rather two.” glad he had been introduced to a few documentaries since he decided to stick around. The smirk faded as he thought about doing surveillance did he have time for that now? He didn’t have a job…
”I mean, you could always ask a favor right? Sounds like you are trying to do the right thing.”
Sveta had to share some of what was going on if she did not want to deal with Young Sam messing things up down the line for everyone. She didn't like situations like this. They still made her feel vulnerable. Old Sam would have been a different case. Him, she could trust. But this younger model... well.
>>”I mean, I’m always up for beating up some bad guys. In fact I excel. But if you wanted to get into a fight guess you would have already, and that probably doesn’t help the community any.”
Okay, he was starting to get it. Fighting two mobs families all out was a colossally bad idea.
>>”Sounds like you need to take them down at the same time too. Maybe a Rico case, or rather two... I mean, you could always ask a favor right? Sounds like you are trying to do the right thing.”
"You can't really brute force an issue like this. You take a family, or two, and someone else will show up to fill the vacuum." she sighed "No offense, but the X-men are a blunt weapon, and this is kind of a... surgical issue."

The young icemancer grinned, ”Well, good thing I’m more of an intern now.” he said with a smirk then shrugged. ”Well, they call me an intern. I kind of do what I want.” he gestured to where he was. ”Non X-Men related function now. Doubt they’d be patting me on the back for helping you any.” Sam said with another shrug.
”Clearly you didn’t know me too well then.” Sam said with a slight laugh trying to ignore she called him a tool. He thought for himself now, ”Surgical, right guess I lose some skills when I get older.” he scratched the back of his head. ”Well can’t force help on you.”
Sam looked back to the guy incased in ice, ”You just need to show them enough force so no one even thinks about messing with you. Or you can always point them elsewhere.” he said motioning an uppercut towards the ‘thug’ in ice. The ice erupted upwards ejecting him from the ice. He let out a scream and then the ice rose up to catch him again. The screaming stopped when the ice encased him again. ”I was raised on surgical.” he said as the ice lowered back down.
”If it’s for a good cause. I’ll let this slide. I’m supposed to be a hero now. Not what I was.” he looked back and gave her the thumbs up. ”If people other than the bad guys get hurt. I won’t care who started it, I’ll finish it. You get to see how surgical I can get, I have a lot to make up for.”
>>”Well, good thing I’m more of an intern now. Well, they call me an intern. I kind of do what I want. Non X-Men related function now. Doubt they’d be patting me on the back for helping you any.”
Haven was not on bad terms with the X-men, but since Hadden wanted to walk the fine line between legit business, mutant advocacy, and vigilante justice (in her mind, anyway), they were definitely on a sliding scale of legit. And even within that scale, Suddenly Teenaged Sam was definitely a special case.
>>”Clearly you didn’t know me too well then. Surgical, right guess I lose some skills when I get older... Well can’t force help on you. You just need to show them enough force so no one even thinks about messing with you. Or you can always point them elsewhere.”
Sam went on to demonstrate his powers, tossing the guy out of the ice then catching him again. Sveta had seen him do some impressive things before, but now she had proof that his control and abilities did not go back to teenage levels when he de-aged. Interesting.
>>”I was raised on surgical.”
"Not that kinda surgical, darling" Sveta grinned, but gave him a look of appreciation anyway. She had no doubt he could unclasp a bra at a distance if he needed to, but she trusted his teen self a lot less when it came to political intrigue.
>>”If it’s for a good cause. I’ll let this slide. I’m supposed to be a hero now. Not what I was. If people other than the bad guys get hurt. I won’t care who started it, I’ll finish it. You get to see how surgical I can get, I have a lot to make up for.”
Sveta chuckled. Teen Sam was kind of adorable. In a freshly minted vigilante hero way.
"For what it's worth, adult you was a good guy. Good in general, and good at what he was doing. Realistic, sure, but not in a jaded way."

His thumbs up vanished when she brought up what he was, what he had become. He was good in general and not jaded. The icemancer sneered in her direction for a moment like he just smelled something awful. ”Great, more to look forward to. Might be a drunk but at least I’m not jaded.” did everyone have to talk about how great he was and not how great he is, now.
The ice vanished with a wave of his hand as he approached. The mafia member pushed himself up and started yelling at him and Sam gave a quick kick to the side of the guys knee and he dropped. Surgical, see? He doubted any X-men would have been thrilled with him but it was what she was going to do anyways right? At least he got to do something.
The thug grabbed his knee and howled and Sam looked back and smirked, ”Guess you know where to find me.” ice started to form under his feet. ”Try to stay out of trouble. I’ll be watching.” he gave a slight wink before launching himself upwards with a pillar of ice as soon as gravity took hold he created an ice slide and went on his way debating if he should tell anyone about this.
