The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Mr. Easter Bunny, how does a male bunny lay eggs? (Zaid)
Zaid felt one ear quirk slightly at the mention of heavy weights. He was used to lifting pots full of sauces now and carrying trays, the usual kitchen grunt work, so he wasn't completely lacking in muscles. But training with intention would be new, and it sounded painful. But, no pain no gain? That was the saying right?
Zaid felt his ears and nose direct him toward coffee before realizing what he was doing. The casual nose twitch probably wasn't missed to his companion, and he opted out of explaining himself. She had spent a short amount of time as him, after all. His sense of smell wasn't as powerful as many mutants, but it was enough it got them in the direction they needed, and they found outdoor seating. Zaid politely offered the chair to his friend then sat in one himself, making sure the jacket still covered his ears. The waitress who came over seemed a little confused by his choice of attire in the warm air, but then she caught a glimpse of one ear and a small 'aha' moment seemed to click.
"Just black tea for me, actually. Jude drinks the coffee." He gestured to the bag they had retrieved, and the cause of all the ruckus.
They had started with Rhia leading, but as they walked Rhia saw Zaid’s nose twitch before he took the lead. He had one hell of a nose, as Rhia knew from personal experience. And his nose did not disappoint! Zaid’s nose led them to a little coffee place with outdoor seating. As they approached Rhia’s nose was able to start picking up the faint hint of the wonderful scent of coffee. The difference between their noses was pretty great. Zaid wasn’t like someone with a bloodhound nose, but it was still impressive compared to her little human nose.
Rhia was tickled pink that, when they went to sit at a table, Zaid offered her a chair before taking one himself. ”And they say chivalry is dead.” Rhia laughed as she sat in the offered chair.
When the waitress—Cindy according to her name tag—approached there was a moment where she looked at Zaid confused before she took their orders. Zaid ordered tea. It turned out the coffee was for Jude.
”I will have coffee.” Rhia said before describing an overly engineered order of coffee. The waitress said she would have it right out and headed to put their order in. Rhia turned to Zaid and said, ”Tea is good too, but I couldn’t survive without my coffee. I’d call it the elixir of life, but… Well, it’s really just my drug of choice.”

Mati
Zaid tilted one ear at the chivalry comment, and had to force himself not to blush. Being a bit of a shut in at times, he did not think his manners were that unusual until, well, being around people. Or, maybe it wasn't unusual? Just nice? Nice could be a good term. He took his own seat and smiled instead.
"My parents were a bit traditional. I think Japanese culture never completely leaves you. Even when we moved here, I think those little habits kept them from being homesick... maybe that's why I like tea?" It was true. Having a good herbal brew was a comfort. It was more than caffeine, it was just the emotional push to keep going sometimes.
Rhia could understand having traditional parents. While her’s weren’t the most traditional, they were still fairly traditional. Like traditional tempered by a more modern practicality.
”I completely understand.” Rhia leaned her head a little from side to side, ”Well, not about the Japanese thing, but about parents being traditional. Mine were very Texas when I was going up. I cain’t help but provide New York with that cowgirl touch.” As she spoke, Rhia slid into a thicker accent. More like what her parents sounded like. ”I know it’s why I love tea… Although, I think I might like it a little different than you. Iced and with enough sugar to be a syrup. It’s bad, I know. It’s just home to me. Like wearin’ boot or ridin’ a horse.”
Zaid always found it hard to understand the 'cowboy/cowgirl' stereotypes that floated in from places like Texas. Rhia herself certainly carried some of those characteristics: the sense of justice, the accent. Horses. He remembered Jude's boss and had noted there was similar characteristic there as well. One thing he may never get used to was how each state in the USA could be like it's own separate country.
"I think I've had tea like that before, but I prefer most the herbal varieties... To be honest, your home sounds like another world to me. Is it odd I've never actually seen a horse in person?"
Rhia smiled. Compared to New York City, Texas really was like another world. Compared to Japan it must truly be like another world. Another world in another galaxy. ”I can imagine. It is… different. Where I’m from I don’t live far from, well, this.” Rhia gestured around at the metropolis around her. ”Big buildings, tons of people, and easy access to great food and coffee. It just has bigger hats and more boots.”
The waitress returned and set their drinks on the table. Rhia thanked her and took a sip of the glorious coffee concoction. ”Mmmm, so good.” Rhia took a moment to enjoy the flavor before she spoke again, ”If y’ wanna see a horse, I know where t’ find ‘em.” Rhia said with a smile. ”NYPD has a bunch they use. Lots of them at big gatherings, but short of that they often have a few at Central Park.” Rhia off into the distance thinking about them, ”Some of them are absolutely gorgeous.”
