Appearance

Hair color and style: Zaid has silver hair with tints of white. It is very soft and feels similar to his ears.
Skin Tone: Zaid’s skin is extremely pale and fair.

Build: Zaid is very slim due to his fast metabolism. Plus grazing all the time seems to work to his advantage.
Visible mutation: Zaid is part rabbit. He has a pair of long ears, and a tail. No, not one of those giant cotton ball looking things but a realistic little bunny tail. He generally just deals with the discomfort of keeping the tail shoved in his pants though so it isn’t noticeable (hurts to sit on though!)

Everyday clothing style: Zaid wears jeans and T-shirt’s normally. He likes gamer Ts and will usually wear a beanie to hide his ears. He has some pants with a spot for his tail, and prefers baggy hoodies with those so it’s not noticeable.

Sleepwear: He likes long pajama pants and a loose shirt if he wears one.
Miscellaneous clothing: Sometimes Zaid will wear headphones and rock the bunny ears just hoping people assume they’re fake.

Character

Personality: Zaid behaves like a rabbit. He is nervous, quiet, and a bit shy. He is undecided in his sexual orientation so that also makes him a bit uncomfortable around people. His looks are a bit androgynous, although he is on the feminine/pretty side of things.
Hobbies/ Interests: Zaid likes to jog, play video games, and read. He keeps to himself and being a mutant makes most his activities solo.
Job or part time job and description: Currently works at a coffee shop.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Zaid is afraid of people, loud noises, fast moving vehicles, all the general hustle and bustle a city seems to have. He prefers being indoors but is forced to work to keep his one bedroom apartment paid for.

Morality

Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Good. Zaid likes things being harmonious. He can defend himself if needed but prefers to avoid conflict. He has learned to put on his best customer service smile to escape reality and the darkness it has.

Mutations

Mutation description:
Zaid is part rabbit. This gives him excellent hearing, a great sense of smell and strong legs. He could have mastered the high jump as a kid if he tried.
Strengths: Zaid can jump approximately 1.25x higher than an average human. This is enough he has an advantage but not so much he can leap tall buildings. (For example, a basketball player jumps as high as 45”, Zaid caps around 56”).
Weaknesses and Limitations:
Zaid can suffer the same injuries as a normal human/rabbit. He can strain muscles if he tries jumping too high or running too much, and his ears make him sensitive to loud noises. Zaid can’t necessarily hear super far away, but if you were whispering a few doors down he could pick up what you were saying with effort. He can distinguish different scents on people but he doesn’t have the ability to track someone by their smell. It’s more like he can pick up a familiar smell in a room or nearby.

Growth description (12/25/2020):
Growing up Zaid assumed his rabbit characteristics were just the typical animal/human hybrid mutation. However, after several traumatic experiences Zaid releases the true nature of his mutation: a rabbit spirit living inside his body, and sharing its abilities with him. No longer dormant, the spirit has begun to interact with its host, and react for the defense of them both when called upon.

Expecto Patronum
When needed, the rabbit can exit Zaid’s body in a semi-transparent form, and act for defense or attack. The strength it can kick/defend with is a direct link to Zaid’s own abilities. It can kick no stronger than Zaid can, and can deflect a blow much how Zaid would block an attack with his own arm. The rabbit cannot exit the body for long, especially when in a combat situation, as it draws its energy directly from Zaid.

Distraction Zoomies
The rabbit spirit has speed much faster than Zaid’s. It is also somewhat reflective, creating a good distraction. While it cannot cause much damage, having a rabbit ninja jumping around you and kicking at your face makes it hard to focus, and easier for Zaid to make his get-away.

Physical Abilities

General Physical Capabilities: other than his legs Zaid is physically average. He can lift boxes at work but he would probably lose in a fist fight. He would rather run anyway.
Fighting Style: When he has been in scuffles Zaid generally resorts to kicking. He would rather throw an elbow into someone’s nose than risk busting up his knuckles.
Fighting Style Pros/Cons: The pros of running away are not getting hurt unless your caught! The cons are looking like a coward and getting beat up when they catch you.

History Of Your Character
Zaid grew up in Japan and despite his physical mutation he had a somewhat normal childhood. Because the culture there loves costumes, cute ears and tails accessories, few people ever realized his ears were real. Zaid’s parents were quiet like him and loved him despite his appearance. His mother just thought it was a cute quirk and raised him normal. When he was ten they moved to the US and gained citizenship. Zaid found school more troublesome in the new country and took online schooling when he could.

When Zaid was 16 his parents returned to Japan for a trip and were killed in a house fire. Alone, Zaid dropped out of school, got his job at the coffee shop and settled in for a quiet life in the city.

Sample RP:
“Zaid, the lunch rush is starting soon, you know you have to come out to help me right? I’ll let you mix the drinks but it’s too much to do on my own,” Layne sighed, peaking her head around the corner. Zane looked up from his spot in the back, clutching a bag of chocolate chips nervously.

“Okay,” he sighed, putting down the ingredients and setting the milk back in the walk-in. As he followed her to the front his nose twitched at the attack of smells. Coffee, fruit, and pastries mingled with other scents that the customers brought in. One older lady reminded him of pears, another gal smelt like what he assumed was her dog. It took years for him to learn to block out the unwanted invasion to his senses.

Under his beanie his ears twitched, listening to customers chatting at a nearby table. Someone had broken up with her boyfriend and was registered. Another couple just saw a movie and was discussing it. Layne was taking an order and soon passed him the cup to fill. While he did, he overheard a group of girls whispering in line.

“That guy behind the counter is really cute.”

“Is that a guy? I thought that was a girl. They’re so pretty. And he has such long eyelashes and hair...”

Zaid felt his cheeks flush and he kept his head down. At least they were complimenting him, which was more than he had come to expect. “Anne,” he called out the customers name as he finished the drink and set it on the counter. Fake a smile, repeat. Just another day in paradise.
