The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tobias Finch was a fairly famous, highly eccentric nerd slash collector that was rumoured to have so many things that Shay would find all kinds of cool. He was also, obscenely, hilariously rich. And for some reason he had hired out a whole warehouse at a convention centre privately and was hosting a bunch of events, an auction and a couple of competitions. There was a cosplay competition, an Ultra Fight Siblings tournament and some other similar little events.
The auction seemed to have a bunch of rare and expensive things up for grabs, some collectors edition games, some replica weapons from various media, a piano from some famous horror movie Shay had never actually watched. And some other cool stuff.
Shay had heard rumours of it, and shaken down a bunch of friends in the fidget.tv community trying to find a ticket, and had eventually resorted to sending an email to Tobias' office, which actually got a reply! It was probably their following, but they acquired one! And they were so down for the event, so excited. It was like a con, but a super secret high society con!
Shay would of course be entering the Cosplay competition with a costume that'd been wanting to try out forever. And they would definitely be entering the competition for that awesome Mega Road Battler cabinet, arcade cabinets were actually the coolest old thing in existence. That was like, a fact. Maybe Shay would even hang around the auction, and see if anything cool was in their price range.
Joshua Berk wanted Tobias Finch's Mega Road Battler cabinet. He wanted a lot of what Mr.Finch had, to be fair. After having his collection named the... second best in the city, he was determined to make it the first. However, Mr.Finch knew Berk wanted his stuff, and, considering their longstanding feud, wasn't going to give him... 'didly squat', was the phrasing.
Enter, AshLee LeBlanc, acquiring of things people had that you wanted for hire. Mr.Berk was willing to pay, wait for it, 120,000 dollars for that cabinet. Ash could honestly care less for such things, but with that kind of money they could literally do... anything they wanted. for at least a week.
What? They had expensive tastes!
So, It was decided that Berk would get together his best team together to provide a cosplay for Ash, and then send them over to seduce him and the judges into picking them as the winner. It was foolproof, honestly. Especially after they saw what the team had thrown together. Hours of application and sitting in a chair, they finished the transformation upon the template of a decidedly feminine base. After, she looked exactly like the Princess of Swords from WarStar, the popular ColdStorm RTS.
It was a pretty flawless piece, and for the show itself they could attach the wings, which really threw it all together. Ash even managed to shape their horns to blend in with the hair.
Already, they were taking pictures with people left and right, and they'd only just walked in. This was going to be easy. Of course, they had to make their way in deeper to locate the judges and convince them that the other contestants weren't as worth selecting.
They also has a side mission with a 30k purse and promise for reimbursement on three different auction items. They would have to hit that one up first to get a try and snag some of those items. For now, though, it was time to check out the competition. It was best to work these things from all angles, after all, and if they could convince someone to sell them the cabinet if they won it instead, why not?
They took a picture with another excited nerd, licking the side of his face for a perfect photo op before bowing out and heading toward the option. A good costume caught their eye in the crowd. They didn't know what he was from, but wow... Talk about abs. Abs for days. Maybe they would abandon this deal and snag that for a ride home!
Now, now, Ash, 120k on the line. A whole week of what ever we want!
Yes, that would be a waste. "Hello there..." A velvet voice would reach out at the ripped Dante cosplayer as they passed. "I simply adore your costume. Did you make it yourself?"

Shay had spotted a few interesting cosplays so far, and a few more lack luster ones. Basic Hero of time costumes, really? But then there were some pretty intricate space marines going on, and some other similar things. Shay spent more time than they probably should appreciating other people's cosplay. There was of course, a number of nerdier people that complimented Shay's own cosplay. He was pretty proud of this one.
Shay had noticed the princess of swords cosplay before the person even got near them. Of course they had, you couldn't play a series for some 15 years, go professional and own a bunch of merch without being able to spot a top tier cosplay in a crowd. Of course He had also noticed that the person in the costume was quite... Forwards.
It was a little out of place, most cosplays weren't very forwards, especially not physically.. active. And even then, some of the ones that were just turned out to be creepers or perverts. Shay wasn't getting that vibe though.
The greeting did catch them a little off guard. "Well hello there." Shay forced a smirk onto his own face. Staying in character was hard. So hard. Ughhh. "I did. Yours is awesome!" Aaaaand there it went. "I mean, thank you! Er-Uh- Did you make your own?"
The first greeting the bare abbed man replied with was rather smooth; it sang playboy, which Ash didn't mind, but it honestly seemed a bit out of place. However, when the shell broke, and they nerded out a bit over the cosplay, Ash smiled a bit. Adorable.
"I had some help applying it, but I made it all myself!" That was a lie, but it was the one they were told to tell, as entries into the contest had to be self-made.
"Are you entering into the cosplay competition, then? Seen any that look really good?" It was great work, but this costume would be a really hard one to beat. Ash had a good feeling about being in the lead. A giant space marine marched past, drawing their attention for a moment, but their eyes stopped on the arcade cabinet... wait, was it in the aution area?
Ohhh... Maybe the competition wasn't necessary after all! They remembered they were talking to someone. "I'm Reena. And you are?"
