Skye had a brand new X-uniform that she had not really used before. That was not the only thing she had been missing out on. Mirror tried to give her space and time, since all people had bad spells sometimes, but she cared for her trainee a lot more than to just let her slip. The fact that Gemma was here meant that the guidance counselor probably thought the same. She could take care of Skye's grades, and Mirror would handle her training. Whatever else was going on, she would just have to figure out, with help or without it.

Once Skye was dressed, Gawain nodded to Mrs. Taylor-Cervantes, and walked to the door, nodding to Skye to follow.

"C'mon. Let's go."

They walked down to the DR with a brisk pace. Mirror already had some training scenarios loaded.

"So. Anything I should know before I throw you in there?"

The hall was lit in purple as Skye walked behind Gawain, keeping her breath steady and trying to keep her emotions as subdued as possible. Though she had to admit the reflective sleeves were pretty freaking cool and she was really regretting not having worn this uniform yet. Actually she found she really missed the uniform. It was comfortable, it had a hood, and it had this sense of purpose and power; something she really needed about now.

She pulled the hood over her head; that was practically her trademark after all, just as much as her powers themselves. And then came the question she was dreading.

"So. Anything I should know before I throw you in there?"

Yeah. My girlfriend dumped me two months ago and I'm constantly on the verge of spontaneously exploding in a flash of light and a deafening boom. Yeah...she didn't think that would go well.

"Well...I've sort of been...emotionally unstable...lately," she admitted quietly. "I may have accidentally...set my powers off a few times..." she added, the light pulsing a little more vibrantly.

Skye was glowing all purple-like, which meant she was nervous or embarrassed. As far as Gawain was concerned, she had a reason to be both. She had been flaking out on training and school, and even though she probably had a good reason, that didn't mean it wasn't a problem. Mirror considered Skye his personal trainee, and although he did not agree with Sam's methods of punching trainees until they saw sense, he was a firm believer in the curative powers of a DR session.

"Yeah, so I hear. Hence, Danger Room. Control your emotions, control your powers, young padatwo." Gawain smirked, punching the code in to open the doors "Girl trouble?"

Who hadn't heard of Skye's emotional problems by now? Guess that's what happened when you literally lived in a house full of kids and teenagers, right? Though the more she thought about it....maybe getting tossed into a training session would help. She needed to control her emotions again, sure, but maybe it could be used to blow off some steam as well.

"Sometimes I wish my power required I control something more manageable, like a wildfire in a hayfield..." she murmured, mostly to herself as she watched Mirror punch in the code and open the door.

"Yeah...bigtime," she said, looking at Mirror intently as her purple turned into melancholy blue. "Girlfriend up and decided she didn't have time for me anymore and she 'put us on break,'" she said with airquotes. "I....haven't taken it well..." she whispered.

When your emotions literally ended up causing flash bangs, it did not take much for the entire school to notice. If said bangs were also conveniently color-coded, it definitely did not take much for your X-supervisor to guess what was going on, either.

"Yeah. Turns out, in the end there is not much difference." Gawain had a part of his powers he never managed to control - the shifting - but that did not mean he had not had a hard time getting a grip on the rest. And everything was much harder, even getting out of bed, when there was also girl trouble.

>>"Yeah...bigtime. Girlfriend up and decided she didn't have time for me anymore and she 'put us on break,' I....haven't taken it well..."

"No wonder. Breakups suck, big time." Gawain agreed, pushing Skye gently through the Danger Room door as they opened "Go, pummel some zombies. Have fun."

Skye was thankful Mirror was this understanding; she honestly expected them to be more like the wrath of God, seeing as how she'd pretty much ignored her training for the past two months or so. "Yeah. It's been...a rough time," she admitted, still not making eye contact.

"Definitely." She found herself smiling at the thought of taking her emotions out on some zombies. That actually sounded...fun. But she didn't have too much time to process because Mirror was already pushing her through the door.

"Let's do this ****," she said, closing her eyes for a moment. Maybe this wouldn't be the healthiest thing to do, but she dug through her memories, focusing on every little spat, every argument, and every plan that went awry because Mari was too busy. She pulled her hood up over her head and opened her eyes, looking up as the simulation began, illuminated in a pulsing red light.
