The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The crowd at Spare Strike Lanes was unusually thin that Saturday. With no one coming to the register, a bored Glitch was dusting behind the counter. "Sleepy day, huh?" she commented to her coworker, who was mopping the floor.
"Yeah," she agreed. "Though, some guy in a suit's been hanging around. He's asking questions about Russ."
"Really? Guess that makes sense."
"Mmm-hm. What made them fire him, anyways? Another outburst?"
Glitch nodded. "Yup. He got ticked off at some customers and ended up disintegrating the ball he was holding. Scared the hell out of them."
Her coworker shook her head. "Russ really went nuts when he got his mutation. You guys have it rough, don't you?"
"We can. Some more than others."
Several minutes passed before the clock reached 12:30. Lunch breaks, as pointless as they were to Glitch, were still a legal requirement. Without much to do, she went to the side of the building, took a seat, and pulled out her phone.
Spare Strike Lanes had terminated an employee, Russ Henderson, and they alleged it was in response to him destroying company property and scaring away patrons. Mr. Henderson claimed it was because he was a mutant and the owners had been looking for an opportunity to terminate him.
Mr. Henderson had retained the services of the firm Ion worked for Ion went down to Spare Strike Lanes to do a little digging. He had requested all documentation regarding Mr. Henderson and security footage of the event in question during discovery. Now he was speaking with employees about the situation to provide perspective.
Ion had spent most of the day outside. The last thing he wanted was management hounding him as he tried to interview employees. This meant he needed to speak with the employees as they made their way outside on break, taking out the trash, or just loafing. He had managed to speak with a few employees before one who was obviously a mutant stepped outside.
Perfect.
”Excuse me, miss. Do you mind if I ask you a few questions about Russ? Ion asked as he approached the robotic looking woman. Her perspective would be worth an order of magnitude more than those of the employees he had spoken to already that day.
Glitch looked up from her phone. Oh. That had to be the man in the suit her coworker was talking about. It must have been her turn to be questioned about Russ.
"It's Glitch. I didn't know Russ super well, but sure, go ahead," she answered casually, standing back up and pocketing her phone. "Though, who are you? A cop? Lawyer? Journalist?" An eyelid was raised as she wondered what this was all about. "Did he get himself arrested or something?" A rather sad thought, but plausible.
