The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jay really did care for Zelda, but old habits died hard, sadly. He liked Zoe, especially at this moment, but he'd never anticipated being a relationship, nor had he foreseen how hard it would be to overcome his own nature. In love or not, Jay was selfish, impulsive, and resourceful. He knew what he wanted, and would stop at very little to get it. Unfortunately right now, what he wanted was Zoe.
She blushed, and he smiled as he pulled back to look at her. Giving her a wink, he pulled her closer, kissing her passionately as he brushed aside all feelings of guilt and worry. It'd only be a problem if he was found out, after all.
Was this as good as the previous night had been? Honestly, Zoe wasn't sure, but at least this morning was completely sober so she was sure to remember it all. Which was good, because so far things were going rather well, even if they were unexpected.
Zoe couldn't even stop the little smile from appearing when she saw Jay wink at her. But then he was pulling her closer, kissing her passionately again. Zoe felt her heart beating quickly in her chest as she wrapped her arms around him. After a few moments of returning Jay's kiss, Zoe shifted again, moving on the couch until she was sitting on Jay's lap, her arms still wrapped around him.

***Fade to Black***
Jay smirked, sort of slumped on the couch, Zoe next to him. What had started as awkward, really hadn't turned out all that bad. Even if he had to lie to get to this point, he figured he'd deal with the consequences thereof later. Or never, if he had any say in the matter. But as it stood, things were pretty freaking great.
After a few moments, he stood to his feet, planting another kiss on Zoe's lips before making his way to the kitchen and rummaging around. Luckily Zoe kept her kitchen stocked more adequately than he usually did. He began rummaging around, pulling out what ingredients and utensils he'd need. Since he'd been to the apartment a few times anyway, he had a pretty good idea of where everything was.
After a few moments, Jay had everything ready, and the smell of pancakes and sausage filled the apartment. Jay returned to the living room with two plates, setting one in front of Zoe before getting the syrup. Really, he would have preferred bacon, but that really wasn't something you cooked naked.
None of this had been planned, but as she lay on the couch, her eyes partially closed, Zoe couldn't help but think that she could get used to this. Unexpected, but very much enjoyable.
And then Jay was getting up, though he gave her a kiss before he silently walked away. Frowning slightly, Zoe sat up and turned only to see Jay making his way into the kitchen where he started to rummage around. This was definitely different… Resting her chin on the back of the couch, Zoe watched Jay as he made breakfast in her kitchen.
In a way, she thought, it was only fair. She had made dinner for him e enough times already, and he'd been over often enough to be comfortable in there.
It didn't take long before he was making his way back out to the living room with two plates. ”Thanks,” Zoe said, taking her plate. ”It looks great!”

Sure this had in no way been planned nor foreseen, but planning wasn't how Jay operated. He sort of went with the flow, and whatever happened, happened. Pretty much why he was naked in the apartment of a girl that wasn't his girlfriend, after lying about dumping said girlfriend. But he hoped that was a bridge he never crossed. Besides, what was wrong with a little fun, right?
He didn't even bother getting dressed as he sat down to eat. At this point he figured it'd be pretty much pointless. "Thanks. Probably not as good as yours, but I'd like to think I can hold my own," he said with a smirk as he leaned in and winked before going back to his food.
Zoe had been right, the food was good she realized a she started in on it. But apparently Jay didn't think he'd done as good of a job as she would have. ”You didn't even know what i had in the kitchen,” Zoe said after she had swallowed. ”But really Jay, this is great! You just like my cooking because you get to sit there and watch me.”
That much was true, anyway. She'd seen him just sitting there watching her a few times as she cooked. It was part of the reason she'd always wondered just how much he really liked his girlfriend, cause if he did, why would he always eye her the way he did?

""Well, true. Just means I know how to go with the flow," Jay said with a smirk as he looked over at her while eating his food and sipping on his coffee.
"Well your cooking is amazing, but the show is a nice perk," he replied, smirking as he topped that off with a wink. Sure, this was quite a mess he'd gotten himself in, but he'd figure a way out.
Or maybe he could just find a way to sweep this whole thing under the rug so no one would find out about it. Really that'd be the best way to go, he thought. But for now...he was going to enjoy this.
Because Zoe hadn’t realized before that day that Jay knew how to go with the flow. Right. She’d been around him enough, hell, he’d been naked in her apartment because of shifting enough that she knew he could go with the flow.
Still, Jay making breakfast for them was a nice surprise.
As she sat there and ate, Zoe kept glancing over at Jay with a small smile on her face. But then Jay spoke again, and that small smile turned into a blush. Even though she knew that he had looked at her like that while she cooked, even though she was the one who said it first, his confirmation along with the wink made her blush. Which was only compounded by the realization that they were still sitting there naked as they ate.
Using the act of taking a sip of coffee to avert her eyes to try and get control of her blushing, Zoe swallowed and then slowly turned back to look at Jay. ”Well, if that’s the case, maybe you should come over for dinner sometime this week.” She suggested.

Jay had to smile at the blush; with most women, that's how he knew he was doing something right. Or that he was about to end up in a world of trouble. But in this case, he was sure it was the former. Unlike Zoe, Jay knew full well they were still naked; there was never any thought to the contrary.
"Well, all things considered, I think I'd like that even more now," he said with a smirk as he set down his empty plate then finished his coffee. Then, he just sort of leaned back on the couch, not propping his feet on the table, but relaxing nonetheless.
Hearing Jay speak, saying he'd like to come over for dinner even more now, Zoe looked back over at him with a smile. Even though he really hadn't been coming for dinner that long in reality, Zoe had started to miss it during this recent bout of him being MIA.
”Good. Let me know when so I can shop beforehand,” Zoe said, the smile still on her face. The smile growing slightly as she realized that this dinner was going to be very different from the others. That it would end much more like how she'd wished the others had ended.
Then she saw Jay seeing his plate, his empty plate, down on the table. So Zoe turned back to her own to finish up. A couple of minutes later, she was also finished, and after seeing her plate on the table, she leaned back to treat her head on Jay's shoulder. ”What would you like me to make when you come over?”
