The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Yeah, I kinda realize that now," Jay said with a slight blush. "Well, yeah I'm sure we've both thought about it, but uh..." His mind was sort of racing, and he purposed himself to go redress, say his goodbyes, and go home.
Yet, he didn't leave. He just stood there, looking at her for a moment. "I'm really uh....sorry," he said, not breaking his gaze from her this time as he spoke. "If it's all the same, though...you're still stunning. Even without the dress," he winked, maybe digging the hole a little bit deeper and making this whole thing a little bit more awkward as he backed towards the door, and accidentally pushed it. It didn't close, but it came pretty close to it.
Jay blushed slightly when she confirmed that the door being left slightly open hadn’t been an invitation. Not at all, she simply hadn’t realized that it hadn’t closed all of the way.
They had both thought about it. Yeah, many times, Zoe thought as she tried valiantly to keep her eyes raised. She wasn’t completely successful, though. And yet, he wasn’t leaving. Then he spoke again, and the blush that had started to fade came back in full force as he winked.
Finally, Jay was moving again, backing toward the door, only to bump it, pushing it almost all the way closed. More so than she had apparently managed.
Her heart still racing away, thumping in her chest, Zoe took a couple steps toward Jay, the blanket slipping slightly, before she stopped herself, biting her lip. She knew what she wanted to say, and she knew what she should be saying, but nothing came out.

He noticed the blush, but he didn't necessarily say anything. He knew what he wanted to say, what he wanted to do, and what he needed to, and they were two completely different things. At the same time....she wasn't saying or doing anything either, though he did catch the blanket slipping.
Jay's mind was racing, and his heart pounding, but she had said it wasn't an invitation to join her, and he'd gotten his peek, so...he gave a nod. "Sorry, again," he murmured, slowly turning and opening the door as he made his way to the living room. Then, he began looking for his clothes, the door wide open. His shirt and pants were easy enough, but his socks and boxers were another story. He sighed, just sitting on the couch naked for a bit as he thought for a moment as to where they might have ended up during the shift.
They just stood there looking at each other for what felt like forever, mere feet apart. And Jay was still naked. And she just had a blanket wrapped around her. And there was so much more that she wanted to be doing.
Finally, Jay broke the silence, though his voice was quiet, apologizing again. And then he was turning and leaving the room. Zoe let out a slightly shaky breath, moving back to sit on the edge of her bed as her eyes slipped closed.
Then Zoe had the thought that Jay may slip out and leave without saying anything. That was probably the best thing that could happen, and yet Zoe stood, following Jay’s path out of her bedroom and to the couch where he was now sitting. Still naked.
Why in the world had he not gotten dressed yet, Zoe wondered as she stood about five feet back and just looked at Jay’s back. Why hadn’t she, rather than leaving her room still wrapped in the blanket? Taking a deep, still slightly shaky breath, Zoe started moving again, making her way around the couch to sit beside Jay again, though she made sure to leave more space between them this time. And she made sure to keep her eyes forward, on the TV, as she spoke. ”I know this is a horrible idea,” she said, shaking her head slightly. ”But I’d like you to stay.”

Why he'd sat and thought about where his underwear would be instead of actually looking for them, he didn't know. But apparently that didn't matter as not long after he'd sat down, Zoe had sat next to him, still wrapped in nothing but the blanket.
"Heh, well, I kinda of misplaced my boxers when I shifted...so I'm not going anywhere until I find those, I guess," he said with a dry chuckle before standing up and actually making a move to look for them. Not under the table, not under the chair...he walked back to the couch, looking under it, and then passed by Zoe to look behind it.
He sat back down, his boxers now in hand, then looked at her with a sheepish grin. "Now if I could only find my socks..." he gave another dry chuckle.
Zoe didn’t know how Jay had managed to misplace his boxers when he shifted, but apparently that was why he was simply sitting there on the couch rather than actually getting dressed.
But apparently that wasn’t just a line as a moment later Jay got up and started actually looking around. The movement made it that much harder for Zoe to not look at Jay, as did the fact that she was now sitting rather than standing as she had been in her room.
Though, he managed to find his boxers a few moments later. But he didn’t put them on. Zoe bit her lip again as Jay sat down, and she looked over at him.
Really, this was just too much. Especially after the night they’d had. And the drinks she’d had. Three beers may not be a lot to some, but when you rarely drank…
Zoe’s eyes slid closed as she leaned closer to Jay, feeling like her heart was going to beat out of her chest as her lips lightly touched Jay’s.

Jay sat down, and after a moment started struggling to get his boxers on, but he couldn't help but take a glance at Zoe every now and then. It was odd, and he knew this was not the kind of situation they needed to be in, all things considered. But between the beers(he'd lost count how many) and sheer dumb luck, or un-luck...here they were. Him stark naked--and working on fixing that, yet failing, and her wrapped in a blanket.
And then her lips touched his. It was very gentle, and yet...
His arms wrapped around her, pulling her close as the influence of the alcohol took over. One hand ran gently through her hair before coming to a stop on her cheek while the other wrapped around her back.
There was a little voice in Zoe's head telling her that what she was doing was wrong, that she shouldn't be doing this. But she couldn't hear that over the blood pounding in her ears. And that voice said that she would regret what she was doing, but that didn't stop her arms from wrapping around Jay's neck as she deepened the kiss.
With her arms wrapped around Jay's neck, the blanket slipped down to her waist, and a moment later she felt Jay's arm around her, pulling her even closer than they had been sitting, his other hand in her hair.
Zoe moaned slightly, leaning into Jay as she tightened her arms around Jay's neck. The kiss growing more passionate as the seconds ticked by.

Jay's conscience had flicked off as soon as their lips met. It was sad to say, but that was how his mind worked in a *sober* state. In his current state....he was doomed. And that wasn't even factoring in that her arm wrapped around his neck and the blanket slipped off of her back as she deepened the kiss.
She moaned, and he moaned back as he slid the blanket the rest of the way off of her as he let his hands roam her mostly bare back, making quick work of the bra and tossing it to the floor on top of the blanket.
Pulling back, he looked into her eyes, and part of him wondered what the hell he was doing. But that wasn't the part that had any say in the matter.
Zoe’s breath caught in her throat as she felt Jay’s hands roaming her body, pushing the blanket further off of her than from where it had already fallen. And then his fingers were moving along her back, across her shoulders, and Zoe shivered as Jay removed her bra. It wasn’t cold in her apartment, but as Zoe lowered her arms from around Jay’s neck and his fingers trailed down her arms, goosebumps appeared.
And then, as she was relieved of her bra, Jay pulled back and sat just looking into her eyes for a moment. And Zoe looked back into Jay’s bright blue eyes. Eyes that she had stared at often enough to attempt to duplicate them in a drawing. Eyes that she had really only imagined, dreamed, about seeing this close.
But Jay was still just sitting there, still staring at her, actually keeping his eyes on hers despite the fact that she was now virtually naked too. In a different situation, Zoe probably would have been amazed by that. Instead, she lifted her arms again, placing her hands on either side of Jay’s head, as she pulled him toward her once again for another kiss.

Jay smiled as their eyes met, as his eyes drifted down the figure of the beautiful across from him. This was wrong. He knew it was wrong. Well, somewhere deep down he knew. But right now, that part of his brain just wasn't clicking. Especially not after she pulled him back in for another kiss.
His arms fingers danced down her back, then back up as one hand tangled in her blond hair. He knew deep down they'd both wanted this, and in this case...with the beer clouding both of their better judgments, it looked like temptation was winning this round. Jay broke the kiss, trailing kisses down her cheek, and down her neck, before going back up to her lips again, pulling her close.
Jay smiled as he looked at her, and Zoe couldn’t help the slightly nervous, eager smile from forming on her own lips. Nor could she help the blush covering her cheeks as Jay’s eyes finally started to drift. But that didn’t last long as she reached out to pull him back in for another kiss.
As their lips met, Jay’s hands once again found their way to her back, and Zoe shivered as her hands moved toward the back of Jay’s head. Only for one of Jay’s hands to move into her hair, tangling into what had already become a mess of her original hairdo.
Then Jay broke the kiss again, but his lips didn’t leave her skin. Zoe let out a shaky breath as she felt the kisses trailing down her neck. And as Jay slowly made his way back up to her lips, Zoe let her own hands run down his back, leaning into him as he pulled her close.
Somehow, Zoe didn’t think they were going to be making it far from where they were on the couch any time soon. And, at the moment at least, Zoe was fine with that. Sure, the couch wasn’t large, but it would work, right? The only way to know would be to try.
Not that Zoe’s conscious thought process was that clear as she shifted on the couch, turning toward Jay more as she leaned into him and the kiss.

His fingers danced along her back as his other hand tangled more into her hair, pulling her close to him as they kissed. It was wrong, but at the same time it was kind of exciting. His heart pounded in his chest as he felt his face flushing hot. The hand in her hair moved to rest on her cheek as she turned towards him.
This whole thing reeked of alcohol and bad decisions, but more often than not, it was the bad decisions that were the most fun, wasn't it? He smirked behind the kiss; maybe he knew full well what he was doing, maybe he didn't. But hell, there'd be plenty of time to regret this in the morning.
Zoe shivered as Jay's hand danced along her back, moaning again as she felt Jay's other hand tighten in her hair. Then his hand was moving to her cheek again. Zoe's heart felt like it was going to beat out of her chest as she sat there. Leaning into the kiss even more.
She wasn’t thinking about the consequences of what they were doing, or about how she was going to feel tomorrow. No, Zoe was simply thinking about how good this felt.
Zoe shifted on the couch again slightly, turning into Jay’s embrace, leaning into him more, one hand running down his back as she hugged him close to her.

***Fade to Black***
Jay had no idea what time it was, but he did know that he had one hell of a hangover after the night before. His head was pounding, and he was for the most part, pretty well miserable. However, the hung-over canine shifter did notice a couple of things: One, the bed was rather comfy, and two, the body next to him was rather warm and comfortable as well.
His eyes adjusted to the room, and he realized that it was Zoe lying next to him, and he somewhat had to smile. He felt a twinge of guilt in the pit of his stomach though, but with Jay....that was a feeling that tended to come and go rather quickly. Ah well.
With a smug, half-sleepy smile--or what passed for one in this state, he snuggled a little closer to the blonde girl.
