The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The city was starting to grow on Dante, a little. He hadn't been in New York long, but he at least had a job and a place to live. To make it better, he managed to find somewhere where he was allowed to have his dog, and he wasn't far from a park. It was looking to be a pretty nice setup.
He and Duke were currently in the park; with the large black bulldog-mix on a retractable dog on a leash. He'd toss a ball, then let Duke run after it, so he could play fetch but still be somewhat restrained. Duke, like Dante....didn't like a whole lot of people. But the apartment wasn't exactly big enough to throw a tennis ball now, was it?
But they weren't just there for fetch and giggles. Dante was waiting on someone whom he hadn't seen in years. The game was just to keep the two of them occupied while waiting for her. Dante, in a rare moment, was excited. Duke wasn't sure what was going on, but he sensed his human's excitement, and that made him a little more energetic in response.

Any excuse Gina could find to get out of the house-- visiting with friends, running errands, taking a walk-- was always a welcomed enjoyment. The park where she was to meet Dante at was a short flight from her house, so when she arrived, she wasn't in the least bit winded. Hair windswept and wild, eyes bright...
Dante was in-town!! Which was perhaps the most wonderful surprise she'd recieved all week. And it was a total surprise, she hadn't known he was dropping by at all. It was a good thing she didn't have any major tests or projects taking-up her time, or else she wouldn't have been able to spend any time with him at all.
And why they were meeting at a park was beyond Gina... wouldn't he want to meet at her place? Maybe his hotel was closer to this park, than her place...
Gina saw Duke before she saw Dante, the black mutt charging along haphazardly after his ball.
"Duuuuke!" Gina squealed. The dog froze in his return to his owner, hearing a familiar voice beckon him. Dante certainly didn't say anything about brining his dog! Duke gave an excited "boof!" and went galumphing back to his owner, his tail whipping around behind him like a propellor as he went. Gina followed his retreat and spied Dante, lounging on a bench. Gina waved, following the dog towards her youngest older brother.

Dante hadn't been playing with Duke long, maybe fifteen twenty minutes. He gave the ball a good hard toss and let Duke go running after it, thankful for the extra-long retractable leash that gave the big guy more freedom. As the dog got a distance away--almost the maximum length of the leash, Dante heard the familiar voice before he saw her. But it was unmistakable, followed by the unmistakable sound of Duke's happy bark.
She was following Duke to his spot on the bench where he'd been lounging, but as soon as he saw her, he was too his feet, walking briskly to meet her halfway. Once there, he wrapped the arm that wasn't holding Duke's leash around his baby sister in a hug.
"Hey, sis. Long time no see," he said, releasing the hug. "I'm glad you could make it; I missed you."
